Dirk Creswell, head of the goblin liaison department, noticed the figure of Dolores Umbridge making her way into his office. He continued filling out paperwork and prayed that the badly transfigured toad in pink would end her daily questioning and go her merry way.
On this day, though, the woman was more volatile than usual. Noticing she kept staring at him with a strange glint in her eye, made him feel dirty. And, heavens above, no, he was not in a relationship, but that woman would probably mate with him and then kill him and dine on his remains. Thankfully, he received a message to visit Gringotts.
Then he looked into Dolores's face and figured the woman was like a rottweiler with a steak. She was not going to leave him alone. Dirk considered and decided to invite Dolores to accompany him to the Bank.
As soon as Dolores stepped into the bank, she adjusted her attitude. She examined, ' Yes, Dirk Creswell was a good-looking mudblood but powerless. I have seniority. I am the current undersecretary for the intern Minister of Magic, Pius Thicknesse. I have a job, and that is to get the Potter Vaults delivered to the current administration. Those filthy beasts will do good to remember a couple of things about their masters, the wizards. '
The witch didn't survive her visit to the bank. Dirk Creswell felt her blood spray his shirt as the woman lost her mind and made a threat to the captain of the goblins, who refused her entry into the office of the administrator for the Potter Vaults.
Rita Skeeter was on site, returning from visiting her vault, and got the entire story in one.
Dirk got arrested for bringing a ' persona non grata ,' to Goblin territory.
Rita was in her element as she blended with the wall. The next day, the story appeared in the Daily Prophet.
How to lose your head while visiting Gringotts in three steps.
Article by: Rita Skeeter.
Good morning, dear readers. Many of you might be wondering about the reasoning behind the headline. Straight to the point then! You see, yesterday, as I was walking out from my visit to the Bank, I witnessed the death of a ministry worker.
Many of you might speculate that the goblins have lost their minds and broken the treaty between wizards and goblins, but you would be mistaken.
If anything, the person who won the lottery in angering the guardians of the magical wealth was no other than the undersecretary for the intern Minister of Magic, Pius Thicknesse, one Dolores Umbridge.
Dolores Umbridge, who recently became Undersecretary to the previous Minister of Magic Cornelius Fudge. [Now deceased] was later appointed to Pius Thicknesse. Yesterday, she was declared dead.
According to the goblins, the head of the goblin liaison, Dirk Creswell, was in place to receive the answer to his query, and Miss Umbridge decided to overstep the negotiations. She got a warning, then she was denied entry to the bank. Miss Umbridge began berating the goblin guards. The woman was deaf to the warnings provided by the guards, and when she brought her wand out, that was the moment she lost her head.
It's a shame that the head of goblin liaison, Dirk Creswell, got caught in the middle of the diplomatic mess instigated by a woman who decided to attach herself to the negotiations between the Ministry of Magic and Gringotts, and contribute only contempt and disrespect.
Mr. Creswell was sentenced inside Gringotts to serve community service, and the goblins sent a message to the office of Minister Thicknesse.
"Individual Vaults, such as the one for the Potter family, will not be placed in disposition to any Wizarding Administration. The Potters left concrete instructions to dump the wealth in the North Atlantic Ocean if no heir claimed it properly,"
Well, my dear readers, Miss Umbridge, and Mr. Creswell reaped the results of this disastrous visit.
A reminder to us all. Do not go into the house of goblins and treat them like house elves, giving orders, threatening, or displaying a wand unless you want to lose your freedom, if not your head.
Could this episode be avoided? Yes, however, it was unlikely that it could have ended differently. The combination of Umbridge and Creswell left a bitter taste not only to the Goblins but to the Ministry's cabinet.
As always a pleasure to serve.
Kind regards.
Rita S.
