Kaito and Miko were in bed in their own home together at last, after the whole Mythra ordeal, they needed some time to sleep on it. Miko could just fine, but not Kaito, he just stayed as wide awake as ever, tossing and turning under the covers. The movement of which actually managed to cause Miko to stir and call out to her boyfriend.

"Kokonut… what's going on…?" She asked with a yawn.

"It's that Mythra girl, I can't get her out of my mind." He said.

"You… what…?" Miko shot him a threatening glare.

"No, no, no, not like that, Muffin. It's just… you heard what she said, Pyra needed a break or something, what does that mean? And how long IS this break? It wasn't anything Frankie did, was it? And, you know… I'm just worried about how she's gonna treat him."

Miko, still mostly asleep, placed a droopy hand on her boyfriend's forehead in an effort to soothe him.

"Oh Kokonut…it'll all be okay…totally…" Her eyelids started to close again as she said that.

"But what about the tri-"

Miko put a finger to his lips and shushed him.

"So long as you get that dumb Banana out of your head, everything will be…o…kay…"

She passed out, face into her pillow. In his head, Kaito counted from 5.

"4, 3, 2…"

Suddenly Miko shot up from the pillow and took a breath as if she was just underwater.

"CRAP, THE TRIAL! THAT BANANA'S GONNA MESS UP PYRA'S TRIAL!"

Wednesday, August 6th. The time was 7:30 AM. At this time, Frankie would be getting ready for work alongside Pyra, but he wouldn't be heading off to work this day, and neither would she, not like she could with Mythra in her place anyway. As he was thinking all this, Mythra emerged from Pyra's, or rather her room with a stretch and yawn. It took a second for her to notice Frankie looking at her and to acknowledge him, but the air in the room was awkward so both Blade and Driver just kind of stared at each other in tensity. After taking a deep breath, Mythra was the first to break the silence.

"Morning." She said plainly.

"H-hi…" Frankie nervously said. Mythra shifted her glance, none of this was getting any easier; she had to think quickly.

"Still hung up from last night, huh?" Frankie nodded solemnly in response. "I'm picky about my Drivers, don't give yourself too much credit, alright?" Mythra had to make a concentrated effort to not open up too much to this stranger. He did make her feel right at home, but she had enough heartbreak in her life to be so callous about all this.

"Oh… okay..." Frankie mumbled. She wasn't getting anywhere. It was back to square one for her, not like Pyra, who struck it clean with him in no time at all.

'Suck it up, Mythra, you're better than this… you've come too far to go back to bad Mythra now… so stop it!'. Those nasty thoughts had to go, so she shook them away and stood up tall, approaching the nervous man in the process.

"I'm your Blade and you're my Driver, so… let's make what we can out of this, okay?" Frankie was silent, agitating the golden haired Blade a fair bit. "Hey, come on, I'm talking to you, the least you could do is respond."

"R-right, no, I'm sorry… I'm just… worried about Pyra is all."

Mythra sighed again and came closer to her Driver, patting his shoulder slightly for a small bit of reassurance.

"She's perfectly fine, she just needs to think about things a little bit… and for what it's worth, she's told me nothing but good things about you, okay?"

"Okay…" Frankie paused for a minute before looking back at Mythra again. "I-I hope I'm not being too rude about all this… I'm not trying to step on any toes, really!"

Mythra turned away awkwardly, this new Driver of hers was a strange anomaly indeed. He was pleasant, all things considered, but also rather meek, and hard to get a read on. She could only catch glimpses of what he was like when Pyra was in charge, seeing him up close and personal was different. She did appreciate his consideration right off that bat, though, that was something she hadn't seen in a long time, and it made her honestly smile.

"You're a sweet kid, but don't push your luck, alright?" She cheekily responded.

"Wh-what's that supposed to mean?" Frankie asked, a little flustered. Mythra laughed and walked away from him, only to stop in the hallway and look past the walls in pondering.

"So… today's the day, huh?" She asked.

"You mean the trial?" Frankie himself asked back.

"I guess you could call it a blessing in disguise Pyra decided to go back inside at this particular moment. She's not good with confrontations. Then again, this is about her in the first place, so we're in kind of a mess, aren't we?"

"That's putting it lightly…"

"Well…" Mythra cricked her neck as she spoke. "So long as that brother of yours and his girlfriend don't get in the way, I think I can find a way to get us out of this."

"Uh… yeah… about that…" Frankie chuckled nervously. Mythra turned to face him again with a bemused glare.

"Now listen here, you giant walking french fry!"

The squeaky and agitated tone of Miko made its way to the room they were chatting in as Miko herself barged in, only having barely cleaned up after getting out of bed, with a slightly too big light blue shirt with a picture of a bear on the middle, and her hair somewhat frizzled.

"You have to bring Pyra back this instant!" She shouted once she was a foot away from the Blade. Mythra sneered at her with a nasty grimace, not flinching a bit. Frankie sunk a bit into himself as he sheepishly made his way to Mythra's side.

Kaito soon hobbled his way over, also rather disheveled.

"Miko, come on-" He placed his hand on her shoulder as he huffed for a bit. "Isn't it…a bit too early for this?"

"The trial is TODAY though! We have to get everything ready for it, so the sooner we get this resolved, the better the chance of us actually getting somewhere!" She gestured generally at Mythra.

"You have three seconds to back the hell off, you halfwit…" Mythra threatened, tensing her muscles in the process.

Miko placed her hand across her brow in frustration.

"Listen, at this point I don't really care how you're feeling. I don't know how much you know about this world's law system, but to put it simply, we need this to go as smoothly as possible. Pyra needs it to go as smoothly as possible-"

She went over to the table she normally works at and pulled out a list of papers, shaking them in Mythra's direction.

"A large sticking point in the case is the fact that Pyra suddenly appeared in the security cam footage of Frankie's work building. That's hard enough to try and explain away as is, we need Pyra to be there and show that she's a perfectly normal citizen to convince the jury to let her stay with us and not take her -and seemingly by extension, you- away from us, away from Frankie!"

Mythra's heart skipped a beat as she glanced over at Frankie, still quiet in the back and giving her a sympathetic look. Then she quickly turned away from both of them to hide her small but noticeable blush.

"W-well, Pyra isn't here right now! You're gonna have to work with me whether you like it or not! Because unlike you, I care about her feelings! If you hurt me, you're hurting her, you realize that, right?!"

Miko, visibly hurt by that comment, almost started to argue back before stopping herself and looking towards the ground. Kaito then put his hand on her shoulder again and spoke up.

"Listen -Mythra, right?- Miko does care about Pyra's feelings. We all do. It's just that -and we're not saying this is your fault or anything- but Pyra not being here makes things a lot more difficult. This is her case after all, and like Miko said, if it doesn't go right, it would frankly cause a lot of problems for her and you."

He shifted his stance and gave her a slightly more pointed look.

"Not to mention Frankie, since he's the one who found you and took you in."

Again, Mythra looked to Frankie, albeit a bit more forlorn this time. She sighed deeply and joined him by his side.

"Look… I hear everything you're saying and I know what needs to be done, but… Pyra's having a bit of an episode, and if I'm to assume right, that wouldn't exactly be the best for this case stuff either, right?"

Frankie looked down sadly, which Mythra also caught hold of, causing her to do a similar action, both looking kind of guilty for any thoughts that could have been running through their minds right now, if not just sorry for the other. Frankie did wonder about how truthful Mythra was being about her and Pyra shared the same pain, if that was true, then Mythra herself must feel particularly downtrodden.

Miko and Kaito looked at the both of them, and then at each other. They stared into each other to get a rid of what the other was thinking, before they both gave a small smile and turned back to the other couple in the room.

"Don't worry you two, we're not gonna let anything bad happen." Kaito stated, placing a reassuring hand on both of their shoulders.

Miko stepped forward too. "He's right. I'm sorry for getting angry, I just…I want to make sure things go well for you, the last thing I'd want is for completely innocent people to be unjustly punished." She gently took Mythra's hand and held it tight.

"Tch… you two remind me of a couple other little buggers I hate to admit I'm rather close to…" Mythra smiled fondly before giggling a small bit. "Well, I wouldn't say hate, that's a huge disservice, I guess… like how a big sibling is supposed to look at their younger siblings. If that makes any sense…"

"Hah… I guess I can kinda see that…" Frankie spoke up as he looked towards Kaito and Miko, mostly Miko because he hadn't known her as long as he had Kaito.

"Glad we could get that settled." Kaito patted the lot of them on the back.

"Cuz we really need to find a solution for this mess and me and Miko are drawing a blank."

Miko nodded her head in shame.

"Well… if Mythra IS Pyra… who's to say that it wasn't really her all along?" Frankie asked after a moment in thought.

"…Hah…?" Miko asked, completely dumbfounded.

"I-I don't know, it was just something I thought up on the spot, I don't- I don't know how this would all work and it sounds a lot like cheating and that'd get us into even more trouble, and-"

"I can give it a try." Mythra broke through suddenly, causing the small crowd around her to break out in a collective and shocked,

"HUH?!"

"At the end of the day, the fact of the matter is that Pyra and I are one in the same, right? Well, Pyra's not gonna be showing up in that room if I have anything to say about it. As far as I'm concerned, I'm the one who came to Frank on the cameras."

"Mythra… that's dangerous, you know that, don't you…?" Frankie asked with extreme worry in his voice.

"Kid, I've seen people throw shitfits over worse things, if they wanna judge a book by its cover, I say we give them one that'll stick, this was all your idea, remember?"

"W-well sure but… I only said it cuz I don't want anything to happen to you or Pyra…" He admitted. Mythra's eyes widened ever so slightly as she stared at the young man in slight confusion as well as intrigue. Maybe he wasn't the worst driver she could've asked for if it's evident he cares about Pyra so much, and by extension her.

"A-and, how do you plan to do that?" Miko asked.

Mythra gestured to her core crystal, each member of the group slowly came to a realization of what it is was she meant… and Kaito in particular wasn't happy.

"No." He said.

"No? This isn't your trial, you know, I'm just trying to cover all the bases here."

"Listen here, Mythra, or Pyra, or whoever you are. You wanna protect Pyra's emotions? That's fine. You want to vouch for yourself because you think it's gonna be that easy, that's fine too, but on the subject of brothers and sisters, I am NOT letting you put mine through that hellhole again." He stated with an uncharacteristically sharp sneer. Mythra let out a chuckle as Kaito finished his small rant.

"Pyra really got you guys good didn't she? I guess she hit it off with the Dummy over here better than I thought." She glanced Frankie's way teasingly.

"Hey! Who's Dummy?!" Frankie asked defensively.

"The truth of the matter is that I don't necessarily need Frank to join me on this little excursion. We're creating an illusion for the people in the wings, not going to a whole 'nother part of the world. You can ask for Pyra all you want, but I'm the older blade…" Mythra summoned her own blade and stuck it in the ground somewhat nonchalantly yet poignantly as she continued on a bit smugly, "And there are some things big sis can do that baby sis just can't."

"You just stabbed the floorboard- whatever, what are you suggesting?" Kaito asked, confused.

Mythra let out another chuckle. "I already said it was an illusion, so why don't you just get yourselves together, that way you can actually SEE what I'm talking about."

Kaito, Miko, and Frankie all looked at each other, still in confusion.

As people filed into the courtroom, Kaito helped Miko prepare her defense. He looked around at the rather large room filled with seats in some bewilderment.

"This is like, a trial for potential trespassing, right? Not nuking the country of Turkey. Why bring out the big courtroom for this?"

"Frankie works at a Database Designing firm, remember? They take security very seriously." Miko tapped her papers to her desk to organize them and did so with confidence. Despite that, Kaito could tell the intimidating size and presence the room gave off was making her tense and nervous, so he put a reassuring hand on her shoulder.

Almost instantly, Miko's tension faded somewhat and she took a deep breath before getting back to organizing.

"How's the power couple holding up?"

"I'll go over and check." Kaito made his way through the rows of benches laid out for viewership of the proceedings. There were very few people strewn about the seats, but still more than what he was expecting.

He turned to the bench that Frankie and Mythra were sitting at, and they were, in fact, not holding up very well at all.

Mythra was certainly attempting to look confident and unperturbed, but her stress was written plainly on her face and body language with anything more than a passing glance. Her eyes kept darting around at the other people in the room quickly which certainly wasn't making her look more innocent.

Frankie wore his anxiety more clearly on his sleeve, however his attention seemed to be more closely on Mythra as he wondered what he should do to help ease her nerves.

'…Her and Pyra… are connected, right…?' He thought to himself as he timidly reached out a hand to grab her own. The feel of which caused the Blade to jump a bit in her seat and whip her head around to silently chastise her Driver… until she saw just how concerned he appeared. She looked down to get a better look at his actions, and saw him gently stroking her hand in a comforting fashion with his thumb. She took a deep breath and in an instant, regathered herself and stared straight ahead, still worried about everything, without a doubt but just… more at ease… thankful, even. She even very subtly scooted closer to him as she stayed turned away.

It was only then the two of them noticed Kaito looking over at them, as he simply smiled and nodded. They did the same back as Kaito returned to Miko.

"Well?" She asked, now sitting down.

"They'll be alright." Kaito sat next to her, gently taking her hand for a moment as well.

"Heh, I get it."

Once the jury had fully entered and filed in, the judge started the proceedings.

"As it appears we are all gathered, the court is now in session for the trial of one Pyra Goodman…"

Frankie immediately tensed up in surprise.

"Darn it you two…" He looked pointedly at Kaito and Miko who quietly giggled to themselves.

"What? Isn't that just your last name?" Mythra whispered to him in confusion.

"Not exactly but it…n-nothing…it's nothing."

"...and she is being tried for the crime of trespassing on private property within a secured facility."

"The prosecution is ready." A bespectacled, balding man stood up at the table across from the one Miko and Kaito were sitting at. His voice had a sneering yet hopelessly un-intimidating sound to it.

"The defense is also ready." Miko stood up in response.

"Then we may begin."

The opening portion of the trial went about as by the books as one could expect, with both sides presenting their cases and going through all of the legal and technical jargon associated.

However, things hit an immediate snag right off the bat.

"I have a question for the defense, your honor." The prosecutor raised his hand critically.

"Uh oh." Kaito looked over at Miko nervously. Obviously they expected the next question to come up eventually and had planned for it, but any misstep in their answering could lead to trouble.

"You may proceed, Mr. Payne."

"If I am to understand correctly, the defendant in this case has been reported in the records as a taller woman with short, red hair." He adjusted his glasses and looked across the room. "But I don't see them in this court. Could the defendant not make it to her own trial?"

Mythra scowled deeply and was about to get up out of her seat and make a statement on Pyra's behalf, only for Frankie to scoot closer to her and calm her down by resting his hands on her shoulders, whispering something into her ear.

"It's not that time yet… a blow up is only gonna lead to more trouble…" He warned. Mythra looked over at him and proceeded to sit herself back down, arms crossed and not at all pleased with this Mr. Payne fellow. It was at that point Frankie realized what he was doing and immediately folded his hands back behind him in a fluster.

Miko took a breath and looked at Kaito for a bit of confidence before answering.

"My, I wasn't aware your vision was so impared, Mr. Payne." She turned, holding up a document and tapping it with the back of her hand. "Or were you somehow not aware that said report was marked as mistaken? The woman under trial is described as having long, blonde hair, and is sitting right there."

She pointed at Mythra, leading the Blade to sit more upright.

The prosecutor was taken aback, partially by the jab at his vision, but mostly by confusion.

"B-but…according to the security camera footage, that's what the witness looks like! Are you telling me the camera footage is incorrect? It's the primary source of evidence in this case!"

"I must agree with the prosecution…" the judge interjected, "...the report very clearly stated the woman's description up until yesterday, and each review of the footage backed that description up. I can't very well continue this case without the actual defendant in the room."

Kaito now raised his hand to speak. The judge permissed.

"Yes, assistant to the defense attorney?" Kaito stood up.

"If I may, even if the change to the report can't be immediately pushed through, it's still the case that our defendant is here and ready to testify." He gestured towards Mythra as well. "Unless you plan on delaying the case for that report to be properly processed, I don't see why she can't do so right now."

Of course, this was a bit of a bluff. They couldn't have the case delayed as they had no access to the security footage, and one look at that and their request for a change would be immediately denied. Their only chance to make this work was during this case.

"Enough of that!" Mr. Payne patted his desk roughly. "This is a ludicrous waste of time! There's no reason to change the report since we know for a fact what the defendant looks like! It's in the footage!"

"If you're so confident about that, why don't you present it?" Miko snapped back quickly. "Surely if it's as cut and dry as you say, one look at the footage in this courtroom will prove to everyone who this 'culprit' is."

Payne clenched his fist in some poorly veiled anger.

"Mess with me, will you, little brat?" He thought to himself as he gave her a glare.

Miko simply stared right back.

"...fine! The prosecution requests a review of the security camera footage!"

The judge nodded, then looked over to Miko.

"And the defense?"

Miko took a quick glance over at Mythra, who gave a nervous but assured nod back.

"The defense fully agrees."

The judge then proceeded to call for a projector to be set up so that the security camera footage could be better viewed by the jury and those in the benches. The lights were also dimmed for largely the same purpose. An employee soon came in with a projector set up and got things ready at a steady pace. As he did so, Mythra tensed up again.

Now was the time. She placed one hand on her core crystal in preparation. Kaito glanced over as she did so, before turning to face the projector screen with Miko.

"Hoo boi, I really hope this works…"

As the employee was setting up the projector they seemed a bit puzzled as they scrubbed through the part of the footage that was to be shown. Regardless, they gave a signal before hitting play.

For a while, all it showed was Frankie sitting at his desk doing his work like normal close to the end of the workday. It would be a moment before he finished, so Mythra decided to observe her Driver's actions in moments before her arrival very closely.

For some reason it…gave her a sense of comfort and longing. Seeing him working so dutifully and carefully. She quietly glanced over at the Frankie sitting next to her, who was blushing slightly. He knew quite well that no moment in that building was truly a moment of privacy, but it still felt off to him to watch himself at work, like every uncommon movement he made was subject to scrutiny by himself.

Mythra, seeing this, smiled at her Driver.

"Heh…what a dorky dummy…" She thought to herself.

She always felt a little jealous that Pyra was the one to have met him first when they were awakened, but…at least now she caught a glimpse of him that Pyra wouldn't be able to, at least not before her.

As the Frankie on the security footage shut off his computer and began to stretch, she knew the moment was coming, so she focused on her hand that was resting on her crystal. Suddenly, it began to glow very faintly and subtly so as to not draw attention.

The moment video Frankie began to open the box with the same crystal on it, the video began to glitch and buffer.

"Hm? What's going on?" Payne said loudly as the small crowd viewing started murmuring restlessly.

Suddenly the video fixed itself, albeit in a still glitchy state, and suddenly there was a woman standing right by where Frankie was sitting.

Frankie, Kaito, and Miko all breathed quickly as one thought rushed through each of their heads.

"She did it."

When Frankie had awakened the core crystal, there was no room for doubt that it was Pyra who appeared before him. But to everyone viewing the footage in that room at that moment, they saw something different.

For instead of seeing the woman with short, red hair standing before Frankie, they instead saw another woman of the same height, but with much longer, bright blonde hair.

The one they saw in the video

was Mythra.
