As expected, Loki lost and the Avengers were born. My dad almost died when he took the missile into the wormhole that Loki had opened. I'm not the mastermind behind the invasion, merely a pawn in someone else's game.
"I told you it was early." I said, removing the mouth piece.
We were alone in a holding cell. Camera off and he's still in his resistants.
He brushed his fingers against my chin. "I know. He grew impatient. I didn't have much of a choice."
"You were a victim of the scepter too." I said as he lifted my chin. "What happens to you now?"
We stared into each other's eyes before he rested his lips against mine. After a few moments, the door opened and someone cleared their throat.
I didn't turn around. I focused on Loki's shoulder as he spoke.
"Thor, you're back sooner than I expected." Loki cleared his throat.
"Was she a part of your scheming?" Thor asked, I could hear the crackling of his hammer.
"No." Loki lied. "What you're witnessing is rekindled love, brother."
"I can give you two more minutes." He said and the door closed.
"Loki-"
"Don't." He snapped. "I'll do whatever I have to do to keep you safe. You still have a life here." He rested his head against mine, lifting my chin once more.
"Why didn't we just run away together?"
He gave a low chuckle, brushing his lips against mine, and rubbing small half circles on my chin. "Next time we're both trying to escape our family," He spoke against my mouth, "I'll take us to the edge of the nine realms. We'll disappear forever."
I kissed him. Hoping that when we broke away we'd be in that bed before he left to go back to Asgard. Before everything changed, before he was different. Before Him.
But then the door opened.
