When Ianto's eyes fluttered open blearily, he became aware of several things at once. First, he was bloody freezing. He appeared to be lying on a metal table, the cold seeping in through his thin shirt. He didnt know what had happened to his suit jacket and coat, and it was probably best to push that from his mind. Next, his arms and legs were secured to said table. He flexed his wrists experimentally. At least his captors had restrained him with good quality stuff he thought to himself. He strained his neck to look around the room for any clues as to where he was. That was pretty much useless, the room was completely nondescript, there were no windows, only cheap strip lighting above him and a "concealed" CCTV camera in the ceiling that any moron could've spotted. He almost rolled his eyes, it was like the start of every dodgy kidnapping film and working for Torchwood it happened to him ridiculously often. He started shifting his arms and legs, trying to get any kind of purchase to escape his restraints. He stopped abruptly as the door to the room opened and the woman he'd spoken to at the Plass stepped through.

"Mr Jones, you're awake" she greeted him almost warmly, "how are you?"

"Well the facilities leave a lot to be desired" Ianto replied, monotone.

"Quick witted, I see. Lovely" she simpered making it clear that she thought it was anything but lovely. She reached into the pocket of her coat and produced a syringe full of a translucent substance that Ianto could only speculate couldn't contain anything good.

"Have you ever taken hallucinogenic drugs, Mr. Jones?"

"Smoked a bit of weed in my teens, didn't get a taste for it" Ianto said, not willing to give her the satisfaction of showing emotion. his eyes were still darting around, trying to consider his options. Nothing great was jumping out at him.

"This is a little more potent than that" she smiled, "what this stuff does is alter your brain chemistry, its actually based off that little memory pill you use. Retcon, do you call it?"

"Don't know what you're talking about" he denied as a reflex,

"Oh let's not do this, Ianto" she rolled her eyes, "I know all about Torchwood, Jack Harkness tried to wipe my memory with that little pill of his. Didn't work though did it. I remember every single thing he did to me" she finished bitterly, "and now he's going to know exactly how it feels"

"What are you going to do?"

"I've taken the most important thing in his world" she gestured down at him with a flourish, and he scoffed in disbelief. How she could know about him and Jack was one thing, but to make a statement to that degree seemed ludicrous to him.

"I've been watching him with you" she said at his reaction, "He loves you, I've seen it. And that will be his downfall"

"Just hurry up if you're going to kill me"

"I'm not going to kill you" she said, leaning over him menacingly, "But he's going to wish I'd killed you"

Ianto struggled more and more against the restraints as she approached him with the syringe,

"Keep that shit away from me" he yelled, his mask of control slipping,

"Hey I've worked hard on this" she tutted, "like I was saying, I used your Retcon to develop this. It's very clever, if I do say so myself. I can wipe every good memory you have of our friend Jack"

"Why do you…"

"Oh it gets even better" she grinned, "Not only can I wipe them, I can replace them. I can make you associate Jack with every single thing wrong with the world. I can turn the person he loves into his worst enemy"

"Why would you do this?!"

"Because he deserves it" she said simply, "Now stay still, you'll need several injections of this along with… the other parts"

"Like hell" he pulled at his restraints so much he could feel his skin breaking beneath them, the unmistakable warmth of blood flowing from fresh wounds. With a glance up to the ceiling and a subtle nod the woman summoned her minions to hold Ianto still, with them storming through the door and putting their bulk across his body as she succeeded in plunging the needle into his arm. Ianto felt it immediately, the sharp sting following by an icy burn as the substance spread through his veins. His whole body stiffened in agony, and he was rapidly approaching unconsciousness. The last thing he saw before the sweet release of darkness was the woman's sinister smile, her face somehow flickering between Jack's signature grin as the memory drug infiltrated his brain.
