"Holy, Meow…." Cat's voice trails off once the dust settles. "Princess, what is this place?" "Your mother's secret collection." "Her, what?" I stand up, taking his hands. "Apparently, your mother had a secret collection of clothing, a brand named Buttercup. But she wasn't able to ever release it."
"And how do you know all this?" Cat narrows his eyes and crosses his arms, and I pray I'm not in any kind of trouble. "I did some secret digging, and I…." I drop my eyes to the ground. "I hacked into one of your mother's laptops." Cat raises my chin with one claw. "Is that everything, Princess?" Everything I can tell you for now, I think silently and nod my head. Cat heaves a big sigh.
"I knew about the collection, but I was told not to say anything. It was one of my mother's wishes for the clothing line to be rolled out one day." "That's why I'm here, Kitty. Once I learned of its existence, I vowed I would finish the brand in her honor."
Cat's mouth is now agape. "Princess, you'd do that for my mother?" I shrug. "Hey, I'm a designer and she was one of my heroes if she was here, she'd help me if I was in a pickle."
"Well, shall we see what she's created?" I nod, taking his hand, fearful I may start crying. The collection is geared towards fall, and though unfinished, its unbelievable. I know I can't do it alone, but I will make this dream come true.
It takes all night to bring things back to the boat, and at sunrise Adrien and I collapse by the fire. "You want me to make breakfast?" I ask Adrien, who is currently stretched full out, gazing at the puffy white clouds sailing above. "I may ever move again." Then I have an idea. "Tell you what, I'll make coffee and we'll go for a short walk." Adrien groans, and I giggle as I ruffle his hair. "You'll be fine."
"So, what's your plan?" Adrien asks as we walk through the trees, coffee mugs in hand. I point to a small pond. "We fish." "Fish?" "Yeah, what else would we do, dress in drag and do the hula?" Yeah, I'm quoting the Lion King. Adrien gives me a wicked grin. "That would distract the fish, wouldn't it?"
"Here, I'll show you how to make a pole." Snapping two bamboo poles from their stalks, I rig up a fishing pole also using dental floss. "If this works, your a genius," Adrien gives me a swift kiss as I hand him the pole. "Let's go up on the big rock. But don't let the fish see you," I warn.
Adrien tosses his line in, and it lands with a soft plop! We chat quietly, and suddenly Adrien's line jerks. "I got one!" "Reel it in...Adrien!"
Apparently, this fish knows he's on the menu and isn't having it, tugging and launching Adrien into the water.
I'm about to jump in myself, when I see a green flash under the water, and suddenly Cat's wet head pops up. "Oh, thank goodness," I place my hand on my heart. Cat paddles towards me, but there's something odd about him. He's carrying a fish in his mouth, depositing said fish into my awaiting arms.
"I caught the fish!" he says proudly, then spits water like a fountain. "This...was in your mouth?" "Just call me Fisher Cat," Cat nudges me playfully. "I'll make fire cake, thanks!"
"But you told me to catch the fish and I did!" "Not with your mouth, with the pole!" "You got to be sneakier then the fish, Marinette." "Okay, you win. You can keep your fish." "Yay!"
I fry up Cat's fish and make my own meal on the side, listening to the sound of waves in the distance. "Hm, I could really go for a swim," I wipe my sweaty brow from the heat of the fire.
After breakfast, I change into my bathing suit, and come back out staring at my boyfriend. "You could be Neptune, King of the Sea," I hug him around his middle. "No, I only want to be your Adrien and have a home with you someday."
I try to ask more, but Adrien is wanting to get into the water. At first, the Pacific is chilly, but as I swim laps, my body quickly warms up and adapts.
"Look out there, Marinette," Adrien points to a container ship far out on the horizon. He swims over to me, putting his arms around my waist. "I've always wanted to live on an island, farm the land, make my own little paradise."
"Then why are you still in Paris?" I whisper. "Easy," his breath tickles my ear. "Your there, sweetheart." I turn in his arms. "I'm not holding you back am I?" I think of my parents, my company. Things and people I love. "No, no. For if I left Paris, I would have never met you."
"Though its my dream to be a designer, its only one of my dreams," I explain to Adrien. "I would give it up in a heartbeat to have a hamster, a family. I guess I'm just waiting for the right person, and I'm in his arms right now." "So, you'd give up your dreams for me?"
I shrug. "We both want the same things, Adrien. And I can design anywhere. But before I make any major decisions, I made a promise and I vow to keep it."
Adrien holds me tighter. "Just don't leave me," his voice beginning to shake. "Adrien, I will never abandon you. Even if I have to leave at times, your always here." I place my heart on his beating heart.
"How was I lucky enough to stubble upon such a beautiful girl as you?" he asks. "Well, I am Lady Luck, and clumsy. That's something to do with it." "Shh," Adrien puts a finger on my lips. "I don't need luck to kiss you," he leans in closer, our lips like the current, pulling against each other, rising and falling like the tide.
