Episode 328: Brendan vs Morrison
Where we last left off, Sora was paired with a powerful Trainer named Katie known to switch up her Venomoth with her Golduck. She managed to take out Sora's Probopass with ease, but he managed to turn the tables on her and sink her strategy, but she managed to mount a comeback by saving her Walrein for last. Cacturne was sent in last after Pikachu was taken out, and overpowered the Ice Break Pokémon thanks to his quick thinking and determination. Now it is the time for the battle between Brendan and Morrison to begin, and we shall wait and see which one will emerge victorious.
As soon as his battle with Katie was over, Sora along with May rejoined the group as they took their seats.
"Sora, May, good of you to join us," Rei said.
"We wouldn't miss this for the world," Sora said.
"We'll be cheering for both of Brendan and Morrison down there," May said.
"Well, we all know they were doing the same thing when you battled Katie," Leaf said.
"Your battle was very epic! I think it inspired me to make an inspirational music video!" Kris said with stars sparkling in her eyes. "Maybe I'll combine that of Sora and Katie's battle with Brendan and Morrison's as soon as it's over!"
"I'd definitely watch that!" Lyra said. She turned to her partner. "How about you, Marill? You'd watch it, too, won't you?"
"Marill!" Marill nodded.
"Guys, I think I see them!" Max said. The group saw Brendan and Morrison enter the battlefield, both ready to have their battle.
"There they are," Riku said.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
"This should be good," Ethan said.
"Ladies and gentlemen! Our next battle in the Hoenn Pokémon League finals is about to begin! The first half of the second round will take place on an ice battlefield! Whoever emerges victorious moves on to the final eight! Will the winning Trainer be Brendan from Littleroot Town or Morrison from Verdanturf Town? Like before, this will be a six-on-six Pokémon battle with no time limit and substitutions are permitted for both trainers anytime!" The announcer announced.
"You're going in first, Crawdaunt!" Brendan called out as he threw his Pokéball and his Crawdaunt enters the battle. Morrison quickly took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Girafarig!" Morrison called out as his Girfarig enters the battlefield.
"Brendan is beginning this match with his Crawdaunt and Morrison with Girafarig! Morrison has made a devastating choice since Crawdaunt is a Dark-type Pokémon and Girafarig is a Psychic-type!" The announcer announced.
"Girafarig against Crawdaunt? Morrison is making a risky move, and the match hasn't even started yet," Ethan said.
"I don't think Morrison's concerned about that. I think he wants to do this thing head on," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Let the battle begin!" The referee announced.
"Crawdaunt! Go! Razor Shell!" Brendan ordered. Crawdaunt comes at the giraffe Pokémon with Razor Shell ready.
"Girafarig! Light Screen!" Morrison called out. Girafarig uses Light Screen to block Crawdaunt, but the Ruffian Pokémon shatters Light Screen like a window and lands a Razor Shell on Girafarig.
"Girafarig's Light Screen is powerless against that Razor Shell!" The announcer announced.
"Not too shabby, Brendan, but it hasn't even started yet! Girafarig! Use Double Hit!" Morrison ordered. Girafarig comes at Crawdaunt to land two hits.
"Slide on the ice to dodge!" Brendan called out. Crawdaunt slides onto the ice to avoid Girafarig's attack. Girafarig hits an ice pillars instead.
"Brendan is making excellent use of this battlefield!" The announcer announced.
"Wow, he's using the battlefield as an ice skating rink! He must be copying you, Sora," Lisia said.
"I don't think so, Lisia. It might look like it, but that's his own play," Brendan said.
"Razor Shell again!" Brendan ordered. Crawdaunt comes at Girafarig with Razor Shell.
"Jump and dodge it!" Morrison called out. Girafarig jumps and avoids Razor Shell, but slips on the ice.
"Make a turn and use Crabhammer!" Brendan ordered. Crawdaunt turns on the battlefield and lands a Crabhammer on Girafarig, earning another smack.
"Once again, Brendan makes the most of that icy battlefield and does it in a most imaginative way!" The announcer announced.
"Go, Girafarig! Use Iron Tail!" Morrison ordered. Girafarig uses its tail to smack Crawdaunt with it.
"Block with Crabhammer!" Brendan ordered. Crawdaunt blocks Iron Tail, using its pincer, much to Morrison's dismay. "Crabhammer again!" Crawdaunt lands the finishing blow onto Girafarig.
"And Crawdaunt lands a hit with a brutal Crabhammer!" The announcer announced. Girafarig fell to the ground, beaten.
"Girafarig is unable to battle! Crawdaunt wins!" The referee announced.
"So, Morrison losses his very first Pokémon without landing even one attack!" The announcer announced. Morrison calls back his fallen Girafarig.
"Don't even sweat the small stuff, Girafarig. You did your best," Morrison said. He took out his next Pokéball. "Let's turn up the heat! Growlithe! You're going in!" His Pokéball opened and his Growlithe emerged from inside.
"Morrison's second Pokémon is a Growlithe! Once again, he's making a risky move sending a Fire-type against a Water-type!" The announcer announced.
"Growlithe! Use Flame Charge!" Morrison ordered. Growlithe charges right at Crawdaunt with Flame Charge.
"Crawdaunt! Do what you did before!" Brendan called out. Crawdaunt slides on the ice to dodge Growlithe's attack. "Great! Now, use Bubble Beam!" Crawdaunt fires Bubble Beam.
"Dodge it with Agility!" Morrison ordered. Growlithe avoids Bubble Beam using its speed attack.
"Keep firing that Bubble Beam, Crawdaunt!" Brendan ordred. Crawdaunt fires Bubble Beam again.
"Dodge that with Agility again and use Flame Charge!" Morrison ordered. Growlithe uses Agility to avoid Crawdaunt's attack and came at the Ruffian Pokémon with Flame Charge.
"Growlithe came right at Crawdaunt with a red-hot Flame Charge! How will Brendan respond?!" The announcer asked.
"Use Crabhammer!" Brendan ordered. Crawdaunt swings its pincer. Crawdaunt lands a Crabhammer on the Puppy Pokémon.
"That's a critical hit with Crabhammer!" The announcer announed. Growlithe had been knocked out.
"Growlithe is unable to battle! Crawdaunt wins!" The referee announced.
"Time to rock and roll! Swampert! Come on out!" Morrison shouted as he threw his next Pokéball and sends out his Swampert.
"Morrison makes Swampert his third Pokémon!" The announcer announced.
"Go for it, Crawdaunt! Crabhammer!" Brendan ordered. Crawdaunt comes at the Mud Fish Pokémon, ready to strike.
"Counter it, Swampert, and use Power-Up Punch!" Morrison ordered. Swampert comes at Crawdaunt to land a punch. Both Water-type Pokémon lands their attacks to one another. An explosion occurs between them.
"Crabhammer and Power-Up Punch collide with explosive resullts!" The announcer announced.
"That's the way, Crawdaunt! Keep it up!" Brendan said.
"You too, Swampert! Don't hold back!" Morrison said.
"Crawdaunt! Bubble Beam!" Brendan ordered. Crawdaunt fires Bubble Beam right at Swampert.
"Swampert! Fire your Hydro Pump!" Morrison ordered. Swampert fires Hydro Pump and it collides with Bubble Beam.
"Once again, their attacks are perfecly matched!" The announcer announced.
"Give 'em a Power-Up Punch that really rocks!" Morrison ordered.
"Crabhammer on the rocks!" Brendan ordered. Crawdaunt and Swampert both landed a direct hit onto one another.
"Both attacks are direct hits!" The announcer announced. Both Swampert and Crawdaunt fell to the ground, beaten.
"Crawdaunt and Swampert are both unable to battle! This round is a draw!" The referee announced.
"This has turned into a real knock-down, drag-out battle! Now, since Morrison has lost three of his Pokémon, we'll take a fifteen minute break to change the battlefield and give the Trainers a chance to freshen up!" The announcer announed. Brendan called back his Crawdaunt and smiled.
"You were awesome out there, Crawdaunt. Get some rest," Brendan said.
"You were great out there, Swampert. Rest up," Morrison said.
Brendan and Morrison rested a bit after the first half of the battle concluded.
"Brendan and Morrison really went at it," Ethan said.
"Well, those two are good friends and rivals, so what do you think? Morrison and Brendan are giving it everything they've got," May said.
"That's very true, May. But the question is, will Morrison shift the battle right to his favor or will Brendan come out on top?" Rei asked.
"I guess we're just gonna have to sit here and find out, won't we?" Ash asked.
"We are," Rei answered.
Down to Brendan, he looked at Morrison as he drank his water.
"Morrison, you've proven to me to be a good friend and rival to me, so I'm expecting you to gimmie everything you've got," Brendan said in his thoughts.
"You're a lot stronger than I gave you credit for, and you don't need a magical key to be as awesome as me. Sure that Vanitas guy was tough, but you're even tougher than him and his pet monsters. As soon as those 15 minutes are up, I'm making my comeback faster than you can blink," Morrison said in his thoughts.
Fifteen minutes later, the battlefield changed to a Grass Field. Brendan and Morrison retook their positions on the battlefield.
"Fifteen minutes are up and the second half of this battle will be fought on the Grass Field! If you're just joining us on TV, Brendan is currently leading in this battle with five Pokémon remaining while Morrison still has three remaining!" The announcer announced.
"Okay, here goes," Brendan said, taking out his next Pokéball and threw it. "Raichu! You're going in!" His Pokéball opened and his Raichu emerged from inside, ready to battle. Morrison took out his next Pokéball out and threw it.
"Come on, Steelix! Help me out!" Morrison called out. His Steelix came out to battle. "Steelix! Start up with Dragon Breath!" Steelix fired Dragon Breath at the Mouse Pokémon.
"Dodge with Quick Attack!" Brendan ordered. Raichu dodges from left to right to avoid Steelix's Dragon Breath.
"Use Iron Tail, Steelix!" Morrison ordered. Steelix swings its tail, hitting Raichu on the mark. "Follow up with Dig!" Steelix dug into the battlefield.
"Keep your eyes opened, Raichu. Steelix will come up from anywhere," Brendan said. Raichu felt the ground beneath its feet. Steelix erupted from the ground, catching Raichu in the blast. "Use Brick Break!" Raichu came at the Iron Snake Pokémon with a Brick Break. Raichu misses its target completely, so Steelix emerged from underneath Raichu. "Raichu! Use Brick Break again!" Raichu rushed at Steelix and lands a hit with Brick Break. "Brick Break, one more time!"
"Iron Tail and make it a big one!" Morrison ordered.
Raichu and Steelix came at each other with Brick Break and Iron Tail. They collide with each other.
"It's Iron Tail vs Brick Break! What a collision!" The announcer announced. Steelix overpowered Raichu, knocking it out.
"Raichu is unable to battle! Steelix wins!" The referee announced. Brendan called his Raichu back and he smiled.
"You battled hard as you could, Raichu. Have yourself a good, long rest," Brendan kindly said. He took out another Pokéball and threw it. "Let's heat things up! Camerupt! Go!" His Pokéball opened and a Camerupt came out to battle, snorting.
"Now, it's Camerupt against Steelix! Brendan has gained the advantage of types!" The announcer announced.
"I know what you're doing with a matchup, but it won't work! Steelix! Use Dragon Breath!" Morrison ordered. Steelix fired Dragon Breath at the Eruption Pokémon.
"Camerupt! Protect!" Brendan ordered. Camerupt creates a protective barrier around itself. "Use Inferno!" Camerupt unleashed a stream of red, orange, and yellow fire from its mouth.
"Another Dragon Breath, Steelix!" Morrison ordered. Steelix fired another Dragon Breath, colliding with Camerupt's Inferno.
"Again, the two attacks collide!" The announcer announced as Camerupt's Inferno overpowered Steelix's Dragon Breath, hitting the Iron Snake Pokémon on the mark. "This time, Brendan's attack overpowers Morrison!"
"Use Flamethrower!" Brendan ordered. Camerupt fires Flamethrower.
"Another Dragon Breath, Steelix!" Morrison ordered. Steelix fires Dragon Breath, colliding with Camerupt's Flamethrower.
"It looks like the two moves are evenly matched this time!" The announcer announced. An explosion occurred between the two of them.
"Alright, Steelix! Let's go with Dig!" Morrison ordered. Steelix burrowed beneath the ground in the cover of smoke.
"Steelix takes advantage of the smoke and vanishes!" The announcer announced.
"I don't think so! Camerupt! Use Earthquake!" Brendan ordered. Camerupt raises its hooves up in the ground, but Steelix came out too quickly for the Eruption Pokémon to land its attack.
"And Steelix reappeared with a vengeance!" The announcer announced.
"Follow it up with Dragon Breath!" Morrison ordered. Steelix fired Dragon Breath, hitting Camerupt on the mark.
"A direct hit with Dragon Breath!" The announcer announced. Camerupt was taken down with Steelix's Dragon Breath.
"Camerupt is unable to battle! Steelix wins!" The referee announced. Brendan calls back his Camerupt.
"Things have evened up now with both Trainers each now has three Pokémon!" The announcer announced. Brendan took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"It's your turn now, Sceptile!" Brendan called out. Sceptile emerged from inside, ready to battle.
"Go, Steelix! Iron Tail!" Morrison ordered. Steelix swings its tail at the Forest Pokémon.
"Dodge it, Sceptile!" Brendan ordered. Sceptile dodges Steelix's Iron Tail with his incredible speed.
"Sceptile's so fast," Morrison said with awe.
"Use Seed Bomb!" Brendan ordered. Sceptile fired a Seed Bomb at the Iron Snake Pokémon.
"Dig, Steelix!" Morrison ordered. Steelix dodges Sceptile's Seed Bomb just by digging underground.
"Steelix disappears with Dig again!" The announcer announced.
"Get ready, Sceptile. Steelix will come out from anywhere at any moment," Brendan said to his partner. Sceptile nodded. Sensing the Iron Snake Pokémon underneath, Sceptile jumps out of the way just in time. Steelix emerged from the ground.
"Dragon Breath, Steelix!" Morrison ordered. Steelix fired Dragon Breath at Sceptile.
"Cut it up with Solar Blade!" Brendan ordered. Sceptile's leaves gave off a shining glow and extends to cut the breath attack like a knife through butter. Morrison and Steelix were both surprised.
"No way!" Morrison gasped. Sceptile lands a devastating hit with Solar Blade, dealing some heavy damage.
"Steelix is unable to battle! Sceptile wins!" The referee announced.
"Sceptile sure turned the tables on Steelix after taking down Brendan's Raichu and Camerupt. Brendan's got two more Pokémon left to use," Kris said.
"Yeah, but I wonder if Morrison would use his Gligar or Metang next," Aqua said.
"I think we're about to find out," Michael said.
"Yeah, and let's hope Sceptile's fast enough to deal with which one he sends out next," Riku said. Morrison took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Alright, Brendan! You want speed, then you got it! Come out, Gligar!" Morrison called out. His Pokéball opened and his Gligar came out to battle.
"Use Quick Attack!" Brendan ordered. Sceptile dashed at the Fly Scorpion Pokémon with Quick Attack.
"Dodge that!" Morrison called out. Gligar managed to avoid Sceptile's Quick Attack. "Go back and give it a Steel Wing!" Gligar's wings gave off a metallic glow and flew back to hit Sceptile.
"Dive in the grass!" Brendan called out. Sceptile hid in the grass to avoid Gligar's Steel Wing. Despite Sceptile's size, he was able to hide in the grass with ease.
"Sceptile finds shelter in the grass!" The announcer announced.
"Seed Bomb!" Brendan ordered. Sceptile fired Seed Bomb at Gligar on the back. When Seed Bomb landed a hit, Gligar had taken heavy damage.
"Whoa! That's a direct hit!" The announcer announced.
"Strike back with Steel Wing!" Morrison ordered. Gligar comes at Sceptile with another Steel Wing.
"In the grass again, Sceptile!" Brendan called out. Sceptile hides in the grass again.
"Go in and get it!" Morrison ordered. Gligar dove in the grass going after the Forest Pokémon with Steel Wing still active.
"Gligar is using Steel Wing to search out Sceptile!" The announcer announced.
"Use Dragon Claw!" Brendan ordered. Sceptile swings his claws at Gligar, but the Fly Scorpion Pokémon dodges.
"That was a great dodge, Gligar! Use Guillotine!" Morrison ordered.
"Dragon Claw again!" Brendan ordered. Sceptile attempts to land a hit onto Gligar, but the Fly Scorpion Pokémon dodges Sceptile's Dragon Claw and grabbed Sceptile by the neck.
"Gligar is way too fast for Sceptile, so it uses its incredible speed to overpower its opponent!" The announcer announced. Sceptile fell on his back, beaten.
"Sceptile is unable to battle! Gligar wins!" The referee announced.
"Both Trainers are down to two Pokémon, and neither one is about to concede defeat!" The announcer announced. Brendan calls back his Sceptile and smiled.
"You were great out there, Sceptile. You've earned yourself a good, long rest," Brendan said. He took out his next Pokéball and threw it. "Swellow! Go!" His Pokéball opened and his Swellow emerged from inside.
"Brendan's fifth Pokémon is a Swellow!" The announcer announced.
"Use Guillotine again, Gligar!" Morrison ordered. Gligar came at the Swallow Pokémon with a Guillotine.
"Use Double Team!" Brendan ordered. Swellow uses Double Team. Gligar misses its target when it hits one of the copies.
"Use Peck!" Brendan ordered. The copies disappeared as Swellow flew at Gligar to land a peck.
"Dodge it, Gligar!" Morrison called out. Gligar dodged Swellow's attack and got behind Swellow. "Use Iron Tail!" Gligar flew at Swellow with an Iron Tail, ready to hit.
"Dodge with Quick Attack!" Brendan ordered. Swellow dodged Gligar's Iron Tail.
"Use Hidden Power, Gligar!" Morrison ordered. Gligar fired Hidden Power at the Swallow Pokémon, landing a hit. Swellow started to fall right to the ground.
"Use Aerial Ace to get back up!" Brendan ordered. Swellow uses Aerial Ace to pick itself up and flew upwards. Swellow dashed at Gligar with Aerial Ace.
"Quick, Gligar! Use Steel Wing before it can recover!" Morrison ordered. Gligar flew at Swellow with Steel Wing, ready to land a hit. They collide with each other. Swellow and Gligar were still flying despite the damage they both received.
"An amazing mid-air collision between Swellow and Gligar, yet somehow, they're both still able to fly after that!" The announcer announced.
"Aerial Ace at full power!" Brendan ordered. Swellow flew at Gligar with Aerial Ace.
"Give 'em another Steel Wing they won't forget!" Morrison ordered.
Swellow and Gligar flew at each other again, dealing some damage to each other again.
"It's another fierce collision! How much more punishment can these two take?" The announcer asked.
"Aerial Ace again!" Brendan ordered.
"Steel Wing again, Gligar!" Morrison ordered.
Swellow and Gligar flew at each other, landing some more heavy damage on each other again.
"Another collision with the same moves, but no one's flying away just yet!" The announcer announced. Both exhausted, Swellow and Gligar fell to the ground, resulting in a double knockout.
"Swellow and Gligar are both unable to battle! This round is a draw!" The referee announced.
"What an incredible battle with two well-matched Pokémon! Both of these young Trainers are down to one more Pokémon left to use, and it could be anybody's guess which one will be walking away a winner!" The announcer announced. Brendan calls back his Swellow and Morrison calls back his Gligar. Brendan took out his sixth Pokéball and threw it.
"Okay, Donphan! Go!" Brendan called out. His Donphan came out to battle. Morrison took out his sixth Pokéball and threw it.
"Let's go, Metang!" Morrison called out. His Metang emerged from inside, ready to battle.
"Donphan vs a Metang," Kairi said.
"Metang's a Steel-type, so it's a bad matchup against a Ground-type like Donphan," Max said.
"Yeah, but Morrison's not too concerned for type matchups, so he plans on hitting Brendan very hard," Naminé said.
"Well, they're going have to hit each other very hard," Sora stated. He looked over to Brendan and then to Morrison. "Doesn't really matter if Brendan has the advantage in Pokémon types, because this is going to go one way, either way."
"Sora's right. Morrison worked hard in this tournament just as hard as Brendan did, so all we can do is see if their hard work pays off," Wes said.
"Okay, Donphan! Use Iron Head!" Brendan ordered. Donphan charges at Metang with an Iron Head.
"Take him with Take Down!" Morrison ordered. Both Metang and Donphan charges at each other with Iron Head and Take Down ready to go.
"Both of these Pokémon are charges right into each other!" The announcer announced. Metang overpowered the Armor Pokémon with Take Down. "Donphan seems to have gotten the worse of it!"
"Use Fire Fang!" Brendan ordered. Donphan charges at Metang with its tusks emitting fire.
"Use Confusion!" Morrison ordered. Metang uses Confusion on Donphan, pushing the elephant-like Pokémon back. "Now, Metang! Hit it hard with Take Down!" Metang came at Donphan with another Take Down. Donphan is down, but not out, so the Armor Pokémon gets back up.
"Okay, Donphan! Use Fire Fang again!" Brendan ordered. Donphan rushes at Metang with another Fire Fang.
"Use Fire Fang all you want, Brendan! My Metang will only block it again! Use Confusion!" Morrison ordered. Metang uses Confusion again.
"Jump!" Brendan called out. Donphan curled up and rolled its body in order to jump with Fire Fang still in play. Donphan uncurls itself and lands a hit with Fire Fang, dealing a super-effective hit.
"A direct hit by that Fire Fang! That'll burn me up!" The announcer announced.
"Way to go, Donphan!" Brendan praised Donphan.
"Wow, that was awesome!" Jay said.
"I'll say! Morrison didn't even see that coming!" May said.
"None of us did," Rui said.
"That looks like something you'd pull off, Sora," Leaf said.
"Yeah, it does, but-" Sora was cut off by Roxas.
"He just did what came naturally," Roxas said.
"Of course, the former Nobody agrees with Sora," Ethan said.
"Iron Head!" Brendan ordered. Donphan lands an Iron Head onto Metang.
"Donphan lands a clean hit with Iron Head!" The announcer announced.
"Just hang in there, Metang and strike back with Meteor Mash!" Morrison ordered. Metang lands a heavy punch with Meteor Mash.
"Wow! The tables have turned again!" The announcer announced.
"That's how a battle should go, Morrison! Okay, Donphan! Use Fire Fang, but turn up the heat as high as you can!" Brendan ordered. Donphan rushes at Metang with its tusks emitting fire. With passing second, the flames in Donphan's tusks increases and burns more fiercely.
"Tricky, but I know how to handle that. Blast 'em with a Meteor Mash, but this time, give them every ounce of energy you've got!" Morrison ordered. Metang begins to build up energy with its Meteor Mash, hoping it'll be enough to overpower Donphan before it lands a hit with Fire Fang.
"Here they go again! It's another head-on collision coming, and this time, someone won't be getting up! Who will win this battle and move on to the next round of the finals! Will it be Morrison or will it be Brendan! The suspense is killing me!" The announcer announced. Metang came Donphan to land a punch, but Donphan ducked and lands a heavy blow with Fire Fang, engulfing Metang in heavy flames. "At the last second, Donphan ducks the Meteor Mash and lands a super-hot Fire Fang!" The flames subsided as Metang has landed on the ground, beaten.
"Metang is unable to battle! Donphan wins! The winner is Brendan from Littleroot Town!" The referee announced.
"And there you have it! In an epic battle, Brendan has defeated Morrison and move on as one of sixteen remaining Trainers!" The announcer announced. The crowd cheered on for Brendan's victory.
Later that night, Morrison stood outside, thinking of his defeat at the hands of Brendan. He then let's out a loud scream.
"I CAN'T BELIEVE I LOST!" Morrison yelled at the top of his lungs. He then took a deep breath and sighed. "That felt good."
"Hey, Morrison," Sora said. Morrison turned to see Sora, Brendan, and Pikachu behind him. They had three sea salt ice cream bars with them.
"Oh, hey, guys," Morrison greeted.
"Hey, that was one of the greatest battles I ever had, Morrison," Brendan said.
"I felt the same way," Morrison said.
"How would you like one of these?" Sora asked, holding out one of the ice cream treats.
"You're giving me ice cream?" Morrison asked.
"Yeah, thought you could use something uniquely tasty," Sora said, offering Morrison one. He accepts it and took a bite.
"Wow! It's so salty, but it's also sweet. I like it," Morrison said.
"Sea salt ice cream. It was Roxas who suggested this, and we went along with it," Brendan said.
"He made an awesome choice. So, Sora, Brendan, you guys gonna kick back in the next round?" Morrison asked.
"Sure are," Brendan said.
"So, Sora, just so you know, I plan on battling you someday, and I'm gonna beat you hard," Morrison said.
"Well, then you'll have to hit me with everything you've got, because I don't plan on holding back when we do battle each other," Sora said.
"I don't plan on holding back either, Sora; champ or no champ," Morrison said. He then looked at Brendan as Sora took a bite. "And next time when we battle each other again, I'm going to win the next time."
"Well, I'm going to give you everything I got by then," Brendan said.
"How about we enjoy our ice cream before it melts, huh?" Sora asked.
"I'll eat to that," Morrison said, taking another bite.
Just after they finished their ice cream treats, they rejoined the group.
"Sora, glad you made it, because the matchups have been completed, and you're not going to believe who your next opponent is," Kairi said.
"Same with you, Brendan," May said.
They saw who they're matched up against. It turns out that Brendan will be battling Wally next as Sora's opponent will be Harrison. Brendan and Wally's battle will be the first one and Sora and Harrison's battle will be the last one. Tyson's battle will be the one before Sora and Harrison.
"No way," Sora said with disbelief.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"Well, it was bound to happen, one way or the other," Wally said. Brendan looked at Wally.
"Yeah, I guess you're right, Wally," Brendan said. "I mean, the battle between me and Morrison was one thing, but you and I battling each other was gonna happen, so I hope you give me a good battle tomorrow."
"I'm hoping the same thing with you, Brendan," Wally said. Both Trainers shook hands, promising each other a good match.
Sora, Brendan, Wally, Harrison, and Tyson made it so far, so the upcoming battles will determine the finals of the Hoenn Pokémon League. Stay tuned if you wanna see a series of epic battles coming along.
