Jake POV:

Today is the day; I will ask Eddie out, on a proper date.

Not with my brothers or her sisters, just breathing down our backs. Just us, in a small diner on the other side of town.

I wake up at my usual wake up time, 7:30. Even though it's Saturday. I need to rehearse the way I'll ask her.

I really like her and I want it to be totally perfect.

As I finally get up, my phone started to ring. I reached on my nightstand, covered with pencils and easers, from a normal night of math homework. Ugh.

I saw that Steve Benson was calling me, so I picked it up. "Hello?" I asked, as I opened the door to mine and Josh's bathroom.

"Sup, Jake? You wanna come to the movies with me and Tony? We're going to see the new Saw movie." He said.

"Gee, Steve. I don't think I can today. I'm going to ask Eddie out on a date tonight, I think we'll go to dinner. Then catch a movie afterwards." I said, as I put toothpaste on my red and blue toothbrush.

"That's ok. You guys have fun. But we might see you in the theater." He said, as he hung up the phone.

I put my phone down on the counter, and continued to brush my teeth. Then I spat out the gunk.

I reached into the shower and turned on the shower head. I grabbed a towel and washcloth and stepped into the shower. I washed my hair like 4 times within 5 minutes. Then I stepped out, with my towel wrapped around my waist.

I grabbed the hairdryer and just started drying my hair. Within a few minutes, my hair was dry and I had put on a pair of shorts, and I was standing in front of my closet.

It took me forever to finally pick out what I wanted to wear. At last, I picked out a red dress shirt, with a pair of black slacks. And of course, my black Converse.

By that time, it was already 10:00. So, I went next door to ask her. I rang the doorbell, holding a bouquet of pink poppies, which I know are Eddie's favorite ones.

I rang it again, and Eddie answered it. When she a saw me, she had a big glowing grin on her face. It lit up the entire room. "What are you doing here?" She asked, taking me and the flowers in.

I finally managed to gather up all my courage. "I'm here to ask you out, on a real date. What do you say?" I was sure that my face was bright red, but this is something I want to do.

"Really? Are the flowers for me?" She asked, grinning.

"No, they're for Beth and Caroline." I joked, which made her laugh. I love her laugh, it's sweet like chiming bells, but also full in a good way.

"Well, I remember telling a certain boy how much I liked poppies. I sure do hope he remembered!" She said, grinning at me.

"I think he did." I said, and handed her the flowers. "So what do you say? Will you, Eddie Malloy, go out with me, Jake Hatford?"

She seemed to be contemplating her answer, then she grinned at me and said this one word, "Yes."

Oh, if you could only see the joy written all over my face. I hope that the date goes good.

Eddie POV:

When it came time for our first date, oh how I get chills when I think about that, I met Jake at my front door.

He was wearing a red dress shirt, with a nice pair of black slacks and his black Converse.

I had chosen my nicest pair of jeans; bell bottom ones for that fact. I put on a fringed crop top, and my red Converse.

"Wow." He said, blushing and grinning. "You look... you look gorgeous."

I turned as red as a fire hydrant. "Thanks. You don't look to bad yourself."

"Thanks. You ready to go?" He asked, holding out his arm to me. I took it and we got in Jake's red rusty Chevrolet truck.

I couldn't believe my luck. I've got the best sisters, the best boyfriend, and the best parents.

I didn't know what he had planned for us. So this was all a surprise to me.

"Where are we going?" I asked, five minutes into the ride.

He looked away from the road, and grinned at me. "That's a surprise." He glanced back to the road, just as a drunk driver came onto our side of the road and hit us.

Beth POV:

I got invited to the movies by Josh and the Bensons', who were going to see the new Saw movie. When we got into our seats, Josh turned to look at me.

"Have you seem the other Saw movies?" He asked, sharing his popcorn with me.

"Are you kidding me? Of course I have. I thought you would know that." I said, giggling. "I love scary movies and books, both."

"Oh, I forgot." He said, then I felt my phone buzz. Which indicated that someone was calling me. So, naturally, I picked it up.

"Hello?" I asked.

"Hi, is this Beth Malloy?" The person asked.

"Um, yes, this is Beth. Who is this?" I asked, confused.

"I'm calling from Buckman Hospital, regarding your sister, Eddie and Jake Hatford. They got in an accident." The guy said.

"Oh my gosh!" I cried, tears springing into my eyes. "Are they ok?"

"Yes, they're fine. They're just a little shook up, that's all." He said. "But do you think your parents could come and pick them up?"

"Of course! I'll tell them right away!" I said, as I hung up the phone. Then I turned to Tony, Steve, and Josh. "Guys we need to get my parents to drive us to the hospital."

"What? Why?" Steve asked, looking at me like I was insane.

"Because Eddie and Jake got into an accident." I said, grabbing my purse. We all piled into Steve's car and went back to my house.

I ran inside just as soon as we got home. "Mom! Dad!" I cried, running upstairs. I bursted into Caroline's room. "Caroline! Where are mom and dad?"

Caroline and Wally, were in her room, watching tv. "Beth? What's wrong? Are you okay?" They asked, concerned.

"Where are mom and dad? We need to go to the hospital... now!" I cried.

"They're over at the Hatfords, talking. Why do you need to go to the hospital? Are you okay?" She asked. And she looked as confused as I felt.

"I'm ok, but Jake and Eddie sure aren't!" I said, frowning.

"What happened?" Wally asked.

"They got into a wreck!" I said, and started to cry.

"Oh lordy!" Caroline cried, jumping up. We all ran next door to tell our parents, then we were on the way to see Eddie and Jake.

Caroline POV:

I couldn't believe that Eddie and Jake got into an accident.

Eddie and Jake were sitting side by side in the waiting room. Eddie looked scarred, while Jake looked like he was just happy that they were ok.

Eddie has a few bruises on her face, they've already turned black and blue. Jake has a bruise, that's the size of both my feet, combined.

"Eddie?" I asked, as we ran up to her. "Are you okay?"

"Caroline, I assure you; Jake and I are ok. We thankfully had our seatbelts on." She said, smiling at me. "I'm just glad that the drunk driver that hit us, didn't die."

I still was honestly so scared that they had gotten seriously hurt, but like them, I'm thankful that nobody was hurt.
