Chapter 1a: The Dead Last Demon
(Twelve years ago)
In the land of Konoha, a mighty beast known as Kurama—the Nine Tailed Fox—was awakened from his slumber by a rogue ninja wearing a Mask. However, to do so, the ninja had to first pry the mighty kitsune from inside the body of a woman where it had resided.
The woman—whose name was Kushina Uzumaki—had just given birth to her son when she was attacked and forcibly separated from Kurama by the Rogue ninja.
Now the infuriated animal howled as it went on an indiscriminate rampage through Konoha, it looked like no one could stop him. People panicked as the beast tore their village asunder, killing anyone in its path.
Though it soon stopped momentarily when a giant toad appeared in front of it, and on top of its head was a blonde shinobi in a white coat. This was Minato Namikaze, Fourth Hokage and Kushina's husband.
"Damn it, Kurama, why today of all days?" Minato cursed as he looked at the angry fox as his mode of transportation disappeared. "That guy with the mask will have to wait, I have to figure out a way to stop you… but how?" He wondered aloud. It was at this moment that Fugaku Uchiha and the former third Homage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, arrived.
"Need a hand, Lord Fourth?" The Uchiha clan head offered.
"Fugaku-san, Sarutobi-senpai!" The blonde said in surprise, not expecting him to be here. "Then if you're here, who was—?" He questioned.
"The Uchiha who attacked Kushina and unleashed the Nine Tails tonight was not Fugaku. Nor was he affiliated with the clan in any way." Hiruzen stated. "The clan's willingness to help in this crisis is evidence enough of this fact." He added.
"I have come to aid you in the effort of subduing this beast so that we can attempt to seal it back where it came from." Fugaku told the Hokage. "If you'll permit me, I will use my Mangekyō Sharingan to do so this very moment." He added as his eyes changed form.
"That's a bit of a problem, since Kushina isn't well enough to help with the sealing." The blond man replied with a frown.
"Hmm…" Hiruzen hummed as Kurama howled and swept his tails across the forest floor, uprooting rows of trees. "I may know a way, but it is incredibly risky." He told the two.
"We're all ears, Lord Third." Fugaku said.
"Fugaku, you are capable of using the Uchiha technique known as the Susanoo, yes?" The man asked as Minato sent an exploding Kunai at Kurama to make him stumble onto his back.
"Yes, quite easily." The clan head nodded.
"Once you have Kyuubi subdued I want you to use your Susanoo to cleave deep into the beast's chest to stagger it long enough so that I can attempt to cast the Reaper Death Seal." The third Hokage explained, much to the two's shock.
"Lord third, are you mad?! You know damn well what will happen if you commit to that!" Minato exclaimed.
"I am aware. But it is a price I am willing to pay for this village." The man said as he faced the two. "Once the deed is done I will leave our home in your capable hands. Will you be able to do that for me, Minato, Fugaku?" He asked, placing his hands on their shoulders. The two men glanced at each other before looking back at the old man and nodded.
"Yes. You can count on us." Minato nodded.
"Then I have no regrets." Hiruzen said as the three faced Kurama, who got back up.
"Let us put this poor beast back to its slumber." Fugaku said as he used his Mangekyō Sharingan to make the fox freeze before shouting. "Susanoo!" He yelled as a reddish violet aura exploded from him.
What took form from the aura was a giant humanoid body with black, almost starry skin, white eyes, and no discernible facial features. Additionally it was covered in armor that was the same color as the man's aura that ended in a mouth covering and a single horned helmet. Lastly it held a three clawed tekko kage in each hand.
Kurama roared as he charged again, but was blown back by a powerful claw slash from the Susanoo avatar. The Nine Tails growled as it got back up and lunged, only to receive the same result as before, then found itself wrapped up in the giant toad's tongue and was unable to move.
"Jiraya-sensei Gamabunta! Perfect timing!" The blond man exclaimed in relief.
"I came as soon as I heard. Is Kushina alright?" The White haired toad sage asked.
"No, and I'm fearing the worst…" Minato said. "Wait here, I'm going to get the Nine Tails new vessel." He said as he disappeared, leaving the three to continue to distract Kurama.

In a flash, Minato appeared where his wife was, and found her cradling their newborn son. She looked horrible, luckily the second of the Sanin, Tsunade Senju was there to help her, but her condition was not looking good at all.
"Minato! Thank goodness. What's happening out there?" Tsunade asked him as he knelt next to his wife.
"A masked Uchiha came out of nowhere and ripped the Nine Tails out of Kushina. I don't need to explain what happened next." The man replied.
"What… do you plan to do?" Kushina asked tiredly.
"Shh, save your strength Kushina." He whispered before facing Tsunade. "Sarutobi-senpai plans to use the Reaper Death Seal to slice the Nine Tails in two and seal him into two people." He continued, though his gaze shifted to his baby son. Tsunade followed his gaze and widened her eyes.
"Minato, no! You know how Jinchuriki are treated! You'd damn your own son to that life?!" She exclaimed in alarm.
"Believe me, Tsunade, I know. More than anyone I know, but… as Hokage it's my duty to protect the village. I don't have a choice." He replied sadly as he stroked his son's cheek. "But as a father I must be mindful of my son. Which is why I'm going to share in his strife by having Sarutobi-senpai seal Kurama's other half inside of me." He added. This caused the two women to look at him in shock.
"Minato...Y...You're serious?" Kushina got out. The blonde nodded as he kissed his wife on the forehead lovingly.
"I am. I refuse to leave our son with no one who can understand him, who can teach him." He replied as he picked her and his son up. "Tsunade, please make sure that the injured are taken care of." He told the sanin.
"Of course." The medic nodded as he disappeared.

Meanwhile with the others, they were able to distract and subdue Kurama long enough for Minato to return. This caused the Fox to growl at the man.
"Damn you, Namikaze!" He snarled as he tried to swat him with his tails, but was blocked by Gamabunta belly flopping on top of them.
"It's now or never, Sarutobi-sensei! Do it!" Jiraya exclaimed. The old man sighed as he approached the Fox up close and personal before he weaved ten hand seals before clapping his hands together.
"Reaper Death Seal!" The man intoned as a ghostly figure appeared before him and hissed menacingly.
(Later)
After over an hour of struggle. And with the help of the others, Hiruzen was able to separate Kurama's soul from his body and cleave it in two, creating a Yin and Yang half. Now the two creatures were set to be sealed inside their next vessels: Minato and his newly named son, Naruto.
"Are you certain this is what you want, Minato? Because once started, there is no turning back." The old man said weakly, his time growing short.
Minato looked at his wife and child as Jiurya and Fugaku stood beside them before nodding.
"I refuse to let my son suffer alone. Do it." The fourth Hokage nodded seriously.
"Very well then. Farewell, my students." The man said as he was swallowed by the Reaper and the two halves of Kurama were sealed in both males.
The fourth Hokage sighed as he looked down at Kushina again, who looked like she didn't have much time left. "Kushina! Please, don't you want to say anything to our boy?" He asked her.
The woman struggled to sit up with Jiraya's help as she looked down at her son. "Yes." She nodded with a smile before she began speaking to the still sleeping baby. Both Minato and the others were saddened when she passed away on top of Lord third.

-Twelve Years Later-
Twelve years had gone by since the devastation done to Konoha by the Kyuubi. Minato had announced that the fox had been defeated, but deliberately kept the fact it was sealed in himself and his son a secret from them. Except those who were there to see it. Fugaku kept his silence on the matter as well.
However, despite this, rumors did spread regarding the strange circumstances surrounding the Fox's demise, and conclusions were drawn. Though these were fairly case by case.
As Naruto grew, his father helped him adjust to his life as a Jinchuriki, though he couldn't spend as much time with him as he wanted to because of his duties as Hokage.
Luckily, a Chunin by the name of Iruka Umino stepped in to fill the void. This didn't stop the boy from pulling pranks on people. However, interestingly, when Minato saw just how good his son was at pranking, he decided to unofficially employ his skills for awareness exercises on the village's forces. Why? Yeah
Because their awareness was shit. What's happening right now?
Well...
"GET BACK HERE!" A chunin yelled angrily as he and a few others chased a certain blond boy, who laughed as he ran from them.
"Man you guys are so slow! That's the fifteenth prank this month and you clowns still can't catch me before I do it!" Naruto cackled as he leapt away from them on all fours, the paint bucket in his mouth.
Meanwhile in Minato's office, two Chunin ran into his office where Fugaku was with him. After his valor in the attack the Uchiha were all reinstated into the main village as an act of good faith and the clan head was made Minato's right hand man.
"What is it?" The Uchiha man questioned sternly.
"Lord fourth, it's Naruto! He's… J-just look at the Hokage Monument!" One of the chunin panted. Raising an eyebrow, Minato looked out of his window at the Hokage Monument… And his eyes nearly popped out of his head when he saw the past Kage's faces with graffiti on them!
"Another one of your 'awareness exercises', Lord Fourth?" Fugaku questioned with a visible and audible smirk at the blonde's face. Minato just facepalmed in exasperation.
"Unfortunately, no. I swear, that boy is just as impulsive as his mother was sometimes." He groaned.
"Silver lining: He left your face alone, at least." Fugaku pointed out, seeing that the blonde's face was unblemished. Though as he squinted using his Sharingan, he noticed something: a carving under the face.
The carving read: "Best Hokage & Best Dad, believe it!" The man chuckled in amusement.
"I stand corrected." He said with a grin, much to Minato's confusion.
(Elsewhere)
Meanwhile with Naruto, he avoided his pursuers by hiding behind a tarp that blended into the fence behind him.
"Thank you pops." He grinned as he put the tarp away before strolling away, whistling "The Raising Fighting Spirit" to himself in a very cheeky manner. He was interrupted by none other than Iruka appearing with a stern look on his face.
"Naruto…!" The man snapped as he stared down at the boy.
"Aw crap!" The boy yelped as he jumped back before he turned around and hightailed it out of there like a scalded dog. The man quickly gave chase.
"GET BACK HERE!" He yelled as he ran after the blond boy. Though he didn't have to chase him for long, because when the boy looked back at him, he accidentally slammed himself into a lamppost and fell on his back in pain.
"Owww…" The boy groaned. Iruka immediately grabbed the back of his shirt and dragged him to the Hokage's office, grumbling about crazed pranksters all the while.
(Later)
Naruto glared at his second father figure and actual father as the two stood in front of him. "What on earth were you thinking, Naruto?" Minato questioned his only son.
"You weren't paying much attention to me while I was getting ready for graduation this week. This was my way of getting it quickly." He replied.
The blonde looked at him before he sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Sorry, Naruto. I've been busy a lot lately." He told the boy.
"I know, I know." The jinchuriki said. "Just be sure to make it to the ceremony and I'll forgive you." He told his dad.
"I'll try to clear up my schedule." The man nodded. Iruka then picked the boy up again.
"Come on, let's go." He said.
"Hey, I can walk myself ya know!" The kitsune boy huffed. The chunin scoffed but set him down anyway.
(Later)
In the boy's classroom at the ninja academy everyone was being forced to do the transformation jutsu as punishment for Naruto missing class.
"This is a complete waste of time." Shikamaru Nara said in annoyance.
"We're always paying for your messes Naruto! Show some consideration for once!" Ino added.
"Oh bite me, pig girl!" The blonde retorted.
"Why you-!" The platinum blonde growled. As the students began reviewing said Jutsu, Naruto gave a mock glare at Sasuke Uchiha. The two had been around each other since they were kids, but could not stand each other for various reasons that neither of them wanted to get into detail about.
The Uchiha boy demonstrated how well he knew the Jutsu by effortlessly turning into Iruka, who nodded as the boy passed by Naruto.
"Show off." The blonde spat.
"Slacker." Sasuke retorted.
Naruto huffed as he went to do his turn with the jutsu. Unknown to everyone, he had a prank lined up for them.
"Well, time to let my inner vixen out." The kitsune grinned as he stretched. "Watch and learn, ladies." He added as he made a hand seal. "Transform!" He exclaimed. His form was then covered in smoke, and when it cleared up… Naruto had transformed into a female version of himself, and the kicker was that the form had a pair of fluffy looking fox ears on her head and nine large and fluffy fox tails coming from her tailbone!
Oh, and she was naked. Though luckily two of her tails covered her private areas, giving her at least some form of modesty. Which was saying something because her assets rivaled Tsunade in size and sexiness.
"So? How do I look, boys? Yip yip!" The girl asked in an unbelievably adorable voice. Most of the males- including Iruka and his assistant, Mizuki- fell back with nosebleeds.
"Ha! You guys totally fell for my new Vixen Jutsu!" Naruto laughed as he turned back to normal. Iruka was quick to shoot back up with a glare as he held his nose.
"DAMMIT, NARUTO!" He yelled in a nasally voice. This made the boy yelp as he fell over his own desk in panic.
(Later)
That evening at the Hokage monument, Naruto was busy cleaning off the paint while Iruka kept watch. The blonde complained about the task the entire time.
"Shut up and keep scrubbing, Naruto! Honestly, defacing the past Hokages…" He barked before sighing.
"You should be more ashamed about how no one noticed me until I finished!" Naruto shot back, making his teacher's eye twitch.
"Touché…" He said tensely as they settled into a quiet moment. "Hey, how about after you finish, we go get some Ramen for dinner?" The man asked.
"Now you're talkin'!" Naruto exclaimed with a grin. It was at this point that Minato appeared next to Iruka.
"Sorry I'm late, Iruka. Just had a few things to finish." He chuckled as he sat down next to the man. "Now what's this I hear about going out for Ramen?"
"I'm getting Naruto some after he's done cleaning the monument." The chunin replied.
"A good meal after a day of hard work? Sounds fair." The Hokage nodded before looking down at his pride and joy given form. "Whaddya say, Naruto? Work a little faster and I'll make it my treat. Heck, I'll even throw in dessert." He added with a smile.
"Aw hell yeah!" Naruto exclaimed as he immediately started working as fast as his body would let him, eager for a delicious dessert.
(Later)
That night at the three's favorite ramen shack: Ichiraku Ramen, they all ordered their usuals. Though what puzzled both men was that the boy took off his goggles.
"I'm still not convinced, Naruto. You respect the Hokages more than anyone in the village, your father included." Iruka said. "So why deface their monument for attention?" He asked.
"Yeah, what's your angle?" Minato added.
Naruto slurped on his noodles for a second before speaking. "Angle? What angle? I just told ya what my angle was!" The boy said indignantly, though his hair slightly twitched a bit due to his ears doing the same as they turned red.
"You see, Iruka?" The yellow flash stated. "He's just like his mother, Kushina's ears always turned red when she lied." He added with a chuckle.
"I can see that." The man nodded with a small grin.
"Well news flash, you two: that prank was my message that I'll become Hokage and surpass everyone! That way everyone will Finally take me seriously." The boy told them. "Believe it!" He declared.
Minato and Iruka both blinked at his words. It was true, due to his antics and the sneaking suspicion floating around his possible involvement in the Nine Tails incident, villagers rarely took him seriously in most cases or treated him with very little decency in some others. Luckily though, the boy had them to rely on.
"By the way, Naruto, why'd you take off your goggles?" Minato asked, having practically never seen his son without them on.
"I wanted to try on Iruka's headband." The whiskered blonde shrugged.
"Come on, son, you know you can't wear a headband until you've graduated." The Namikaze man said, flicking his son's forehead playfully.
"What's wrong with wanting to know the feeling in advance?" The boy shot back as he swatted his father's hand away.
"Because Naruto, something that important will lose its meaning if it isn't earned." Iruka told him, pointing his chopsticks at the boy before pointing them at Hiruzen's stone face. "Lord Third always said that." He added.
Naruto seemed to regard the third's face in admiration. "The third Hokage, he's the one who helped you seal away the Nine Tails, right pops?" The boy asked. His father nodded in confirmation.
"That's right. He gave his life for the village." The man said.
"Man, he sure was great." The kitsune smiled. "Well, if he says my headband will mean more if I earn it, then I'll just have to see if he's right!"
"That's the spirit." The two men smiled as they rubbed the boy's head playfully.
(The next day)
At the ninja academy the students were taking their final exams, first was the written test to test their retention of the information about their subjects, then a sparring match to gauge the final progress with Taijutsu—or hand to hand combat—and finally the ninjitsu test that had the students try and do one successful rendition of a particular Jutsu that was picked at random.
Naruto didn't like the written test due to the lack of practicality. Sure, he could do well enough, but he still found it annoying.
What he was really looking forward to was the sparring test. This was because he had the best Taijutsu scores in his entire class, this was in part because he had beaten three older bullies to a draw to save Hinata Hyūga from their bullying when he was around nine years old.
This caused a domino effect that caused the boy to pour every bit of time into his Taijutsu training as he could by himself and with Minato. As a result, basically no one could match him in a straight on fist fight.
However, this came at the cost of his proficiency in almost every other kind of Jutsu. Which earned the boy the nickname: the Dead Last Demon.
After an hour of doing the written test, it was time for the sparring matches. And for his test, Naruto was pitted against his classmate Kiba Inuzuka and his pet Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mix dog, Akamaru.
"No hard feelings when we send you flying, Naruto." The Inuzuka boy grinned.
"Yeah right." The blonde smirked, getting on all fours. "I actually have a fighting style I'd been saving just for you." He smirked as he made a hand sign and a red ring of chakra swirled at his feet followed by nine more that swirled around his body as he channeled the energy through his body.
His fingers grew into claws as they dug into the dirt beneath him as he got a sly grin on his face. "Naruto Uzumaki Original: Kitsune Style - Hidden Fox Combat Style!" He exclaimed as he got ready to attack. Kiba looked at him in surprise before grinning as he got on all fours too while his partner got ready to attack.
"Alright, dobe! Let's put that Taijutsu of yours to the test!" He exclaimed. "Akamaru!" He barked to his pup who snarled at their opponent.
Naruto grinned again as he blasted towards them and pivoted on his left hand right as he was a foot or so away from Kiba before sweeping his hips up and slamming his right foot into the boy's face in a sweeping side kick, before launching himself into a flip and get behind Kiba and nailing him in the back of the head with a right haymaker.
"Gack!" The dog boy grunted as he staggered forward from the blow. Regaining his bearings, he spun around and attempted to claw at the blonde, but he leapt back before lunging forward and sending a left hook at his opponent's face.
This trading of similar styled blows continued for about two minutes. Off to the side, Iruka and Mizuki were watching the match carefully and taking note of the boy's new fighting style.
"Kitsune Style huh? That's a new one." Mizuki noted as Akamaru suddenly sunk his teeth into Naruto's left ankle.
"It looks derived from the Inuzuka combat style." Iruka nodded as Naruto blocked a blow from Kiba while shaking Akamaru off his ankle.
"You're good Dead Last, I'll give ya that." The boy said.
"Thanks Kiba, I was afraid it wouldn't work." Naruto said before he started channeling more chakra. This time forming chakra giant claws on his hands. "Naruto Uzumaki Original: Kitsune Claw Barrage!" He yelled as he lunged at the two, claws extended.
"Oh crap!" Kiba shouted as he struggled to avoid the blows, but a few of them still struck home. One blow sent Akamaru flying into Kiba right as a second blow sent him on his back. "Agh! Damn, that stings!" He grunted, as they fell to the ground, their five minutes werewere up.
"Time's up. Since Kiba is down that means Naruto is the winner." Iruka told them as the boy's claws disappeared.
"Phew! Man keeping those claws up is harder than I thought!" The boy laughed, wiping the sweat from his brow.
'Part of me wonders if that Taijutsu is a work in progress.' Kiba thought idly. The other kids all looked at the boy and whispered amongst themselves.
"Hey Choji, you think Naruto knows about the you-know-what secret?" Shikamaru whispered to the chubby boy beside him.
"Nah, he's acting way too upbeat for that to be the case." Choji stated, eating a few chips.
Meanwhile next to Sakura, Hinata Hyūga blushed wildly as she looked at Naruto as he walked over to them, his head held high due to his victory.
"Naruto is so cool!" She squeaked.
"What do you even see in him?" The pinkette questioned with a raised eyebrow. "I mean sure, he's good at Taijutsu and he's the son of the Hokage, but what else could he possibly have that's swoon worthy?" She scoffed, getting a mock glare from the Lilac Eyed Angel.
"Well at least he's nicer to people than that jerk Sasuke!" She hissed back. Hinata was a quiet and soft spoken girl but was very confident as well, a quality she learned from watching Naruto and the help of her Uncle. So she had no qualms about putting people in their places when it came down to it. Sakura recoiled and raised her hands placatingly.
"Okay, okay! Calm down." She said, not wanting a fight to break out. Hinata simply huffed as she turned away.
(Later)
The final test was the Ninjutsu test, and this one was the test that Naruto had been dreading. He was not good at a good few Jutsus due to his negligible chakra control. And he was worried about it.
And this year was the Clone Jutsu, his worst one by far.
'Ugh… This is gonna suck…' The boy groaned internally. Everyone went up and did their Jutsu rather well, creating at bare minimum one functional clone.
However when Naruto tried the same thing, his clone technique was less than successful. The clone he produced was pale and lifeless, not much of a clone really.
"I should've seen that coming…" Naruto sighed.
"He's got the basics down, and besides his Taijutsu and written test scores are high enough, why not let him pass?" Mizuki asked as Iruka sighed.
"I wish I could, but this is one of the more integral parts of the exam. Sorry Naruto, but you fail." He replied before telling the boy his verdict.
The blonde looked to be crushed as he heard those words leave his second father figure's mouth, his eyes seemingly turned hollow.
"Dang, that's rough." Kiba noted.
"Poor Naruto…" Hinata said in worry.
(Later)
The kids all started heading home with their headbands on after having graduated, and the Hokage's son sat on a swing alone as he watched them with a depressed look on his face.
Minato was busy watching the kids leave with Iruka before he saw his son's melancholy state. "I'm sorry, Lord Fourth. I know you were really hoping to see him graduate this year." Iruka said.
"It's alright Iruka. I understand why you did it." The blonde sighed. "I better talk to him." He said as he vanished and reappeared behind Naruto, kneeling down he tapped the boy on the shoulder. "Naruto?" He asked him softly.
"I don't get it… Why is my chakra control so terrible?" The boy lamented.
"That's… A little bit complicated." His father told him. "I'll tell you tonight when we get home." He continued as he hugged the boy tightly. "I promise, I'll help you however I can." He added as he disappeared again.
Though as he did, Naruto was approached by someone else, and unfortunately, their intentions were not as sincere as the Hokage's.
(That night)
Naruto grinned as he leapt through the forest with the Forbidden Scroll of Sealing on his back. Honestly, he thought it would be harder to get to. The security was in dire need of an overhaul if an academy student could get it.
"Okay so what jutsu should I learn?" The boy wondered as he read through the scroll. "Shadow Clone Jutsu. Aw man not this again!" He groaned in exasperation. Though his tune changed when he read about what it did. "Solid clones? Taxing on Chakra reserves? … Well, I do have pretty high chakra reserves, so maybe it's worth a shot." He mused.
Meanwhile in the boy's house, Minato walked to his room. "Naruto? Listen, about what I was going to tell you…" He said as he opened the door to the boy's room, and found it empty. "What? Where is he?" He wondered as a knock was heard on the door. He was quick to rush to the front door and open it, revealing an ANBU woman in a cat mask.
"Lord Fourth. I've just been informed by Iruka and Mizuki that Naruto has taken the Forbidden Scroll of Sealing." The woman told him.
"What?! Why?! Where is he?!" The man questioned. Son or not, there was no way he was giving him a slap on the wrist if this was a prank.
"We're not sure, but Iruka is looking for him as we speak." The woman told him.
"Thank you. Make sure no one else leaves. I don't want to cast suspicion, but in case Naruto was tricked into stealing the scroll by someone. I don't want to take any chances." Minato told her.
"What will you do?" She asked.
"I'm dealing with this personally. If he was tricked, then the person who deceived him will be severely punished." He replied, fist clenched. "No one takes advantage of my son and gets away with it." He snapped.
(Elsewhere)
Meanwhile with Naruto he had finally managed to finish his practice with the scroll before Iruka came jumping up to him.
"Hey! Iruka sensei! Guess what? I just learned an S-Rank Jutsu!" The kitsune boy said to the man as he sat the scroll down between them. "Now you gotta let me graduate!" He added with a grin.
"Naruto, stealing the Forbidden Scroll is considered a crime! Who even set you up with this task?" The man questioned.
"Uh… Mizuki sensei? He said that you knew about a work around with the final exam: if I learned to do a S-Rank Jutsu, I can graduate." The blonde explained.
"What? That's not how it works." Iruka said incredulously. Then he heard something flying through the air and widened his eyes. "GET DOWN!" He yelled as he tackled the blonde to the ground just in time for a Fuma Shuriken to whiz by them.
"Good job Naruto, you got the scroll." Mizuki said as he stood on a tree. "But unfortunately it looks like I can't let you keep it, so this is the moment you say goodbye!" He yelled as he hurled shuriken and Kunai at the boy.
"Crap!" Iruka yelled as he grabbed Naruto and pushed him out of the way, only to be impaled to the hut behind him by the ensuing barrage of sharpened metal projectiles.
"Iruka-sensei!" Naruto yelled in alarm and worry.
"You know I wasn't gonna say anything since it would've sounded cliche, but I think you're old enough to know the truth." Mizuki said with a nonchalant shrug, his words causing Iruka's eyes to widen in panic.
"Mizuki, no! Lord Fourth forbade that knowledge from being disclosed!" He exclaimed.
"Oh shut up Iruka, he's going to learn it sooner or later. Might as well be sooner." The man stated.
"What are you talking about?" Naruto asked, his eyes filling with more and more distress.
"The truth behind the Kyuubi's defeat." The traitor began. "The truth: is that the Third Hokage sacrificed his life to seal two halves of the Fox inside both Lord Fourth and you!" He continued. "It's why everyone doesn't treat you with respect, why everyone talks about you behind your back. And…" He added before looking at Iruka. "Why Iruka hates you more than anyone else in the world. Because you're the fox that killed his parents!"
Naruto just stood there, unable to get his brain to function due to the magnitude of this revelation. He was so distraught, in fact, that he didn't notice Mizuki winding up to throw another Fuma Shuriken at him.
"Now die, demon!" He yelled as he threw it, but before it could make contact, Iruka blocked it with his back. "Damn you Iruka! Just stay down!" He yelled as he prepared to leap down and finish them personally… but stopped when he felt the blade of a very familiar looking three bladed Kunai being pressed to his throat.
"You have no idea how badly you've fucked up, Mizuki." Minato growled. Said man started sweating nervously.
"I could say the same to you!" Mizuki said as he elbowed the Hokage in the stomach before leaping to the ground as Iruka struggled to get to his feet.
"Naruto, take the scroll and run. I'll take care of Iruka and Mizuki." Minato said as he appeared next to the man and held him up.
"But Dad—!" The boy tried to protest.
"Don't argue! Go!" The man ordered.
The boy nodded nervously and started frantically running to get away from the man as the two attempted to try and stop him.
(Later)
As Naruto tried to run he quickly had to dive behind a tree as Iruka and Minato slammed into Mizuki and got him to the ground. The latter had to hold back so that he could take the traitor alive.
"Ya know Lord Fourth, you really have to admit, Naruto was the perfect host for the Nine Tails." Mizuki taunted the blonde.
"Shut it, traitor! No one uses my son like you did and gets away with it!" The yellow flash shot back.
"Come on, you have to admit, he's just like the beast itself, wouldn't you say?" Mizuki taunted further as Minato drew his Kunai, just like he wanted.
"My son is nothing like the fox, you delusional whelp!" Minato barked.
"Lord Fourth is right." Iruka nodded as he got up shakily. "He is Naruto Uzumaki. Son of Minato Namikaze and Kushina Uzumaki, and a child of the village hidden in the leaves!" He added fiercely.
"You can deny the truth all you want, but in the end, that boy is a monster through and through." The traitor continued to taunt. This made Minato snap and throw his Kunai at Mizuki, which he sidestepped and when the blonde used his teleportation to appear behind the traitor, Mizuki was ready for him.
"Goodbye Lord Hokage!" He yelled as he threw his Fuma Shuriken at the man who was unprepared for it.
'Shit!' The man thought as it flew at him. Right as it was about to hit him, Iruka acted and swapped places with him, taking the blow in his Hokage's stead. Naruto watched with dismay before he clenched his fists in anger.
"Iruka!" Minato gasped as he glared at Mizuki angrily, but before he could do anything, Naruto came out of nowhere and clobbered the treacherous teacher with the butt of the scroll of sealing.
"You'll pay for that, you bastard!" The boy yelled angrily as he held onto the scroll. "If you ever lay a hand on my father or sensei. I'll kill you!" He snapped.
"Oh please. What could you possibly hope to do to stop me?" Mizuki taunted, only for Naruto to smirk.
"This. Shadow Clone Jutsu!" He exclaimed before the area was covered in smoke. When it cleared, the traitor was just about ready to soil himself when a hundred, if not a thousand clones of Naruto were revealed, all sporting pissed off expressions. Minato looked equal parts shocked and impressed at what his son had just done.
"If you hurt those I care about I will send it back at you a thousand fold!" Naruto barked. "Just like now!" He yelled as he and his clones descended on Mizuki and started clobbering him. As the man let out a terrified scream.
(Later)
As morning rose over the horizon, both men had Naruto close his eyes as they started tying something on his head, which they said was a surprise of some kind.
"Dad, Iruka sensei, can I open my eyes now?" The boy asked impatiently.
"Just a moment, Naruto." Minato told him before nodding at Iruka, prompting him to place a headband on the boy's head.
"Okay Naruto, open your eyes." Iruka told him as he and Minato let the boy look at himself in the reflection that came from his father's weapon. Allowing him to see the headband that now resides on his forehead.
"W-wait, seriously?!" He stammered before a smile broke out on his face. "Best surprise ever!" He exclaimed. The two men just smiled at his happy attitude.
"Naruto Uzumaki, Welcome to the ranks of the hidden leaf ninja." Iruka smiled.
"Well done, son. I'm so proud of you." Minato added as he rubbed his son's head softly before he looked up at the sky. "Wish your mother could be here to see you though." He sighed as Naruto hugged him.
"I'm sure she's running around in delight wherever she is." Naruto said. It was at this moment that he had an epiphany. "Dad, why don't you use Shadow Clones to do your paperwork?" He asked. Minato's brain nearly imploded at his question as he processed his words. After he rebooted himself…
"YOU'VE GOTTA BE FUCKING KIDDING ME!" He yelled as he comically fell to his knees while Naruto and Iruka sweatdropped.
"Didn't even cross his mind." The two said.
And thus began the story of Naruto Uzumaki, the Dead Last Demon.
Dragon Emperor0: Hey there readers. Welcome to my second ever naruto story. This will be the first of three prologue first chapters Ch. 1a, 1b, and 1c. Which will cover our versions of Naruto, Sasuke and Hinata respectively.
ThermalsniperN7: Yep. There's gonna be changes that can still make this interesting, which you've already seen here. We've got a lot planned.
Dragon Emperor0: Also if you're confused about what is still canon regarding Naruto's birth and Kurama's Sealing, unless it's been explicitly changed or stated, assume it stays the same. Anyway guys, see you in Chapter 1b: The Avenger.
