Just some slander on Holly. I don't own Victorious or any of it's characters, so this is pure imagination. Guess I'm saying, don't sue.

Holly Vega hated to admit it, but as much as she loved her husband, sometimes she just felt like she'd married for the easy to remember name. Four letters, and she was done. It was so simple, ethnic, which was so in at the time, as well as somehow being elegant. Vega, the star, even though it translated to Valley. Even then, it felt regal, like something someone important would be called. Yes, Holly wasn't shallow, but those facts were still very important to her and her eventual marriage.

You see, Holly came from money. Not the kind of money they'd had just a few generations ago. No, inflation and a lack of talented individuals running the family fortune had eaten away at that comparative wealth. But she did have a trust fund, like her children would have a trust fund, and even Trina would live well enough that the mother didn't have to worry that much about her children. This was a good thing, because Holly was slowly recovering from being spoiled.

The woman had married David for love, that much she knew. She loved the tall, solid police officer who made her feel safe, and who was able to forgive her far to many indiscretions. Sure, maybe she'd only birthed his children, but she was thankful for birth control and that one abortion to keep things that uncomplicated. Holly got board, and tended to play games. David had to keep his wits about him, know when to act, in order to help keep her focused on the right things, like their marriage, and sometimes, just sometimes, raising their girls.

If the woman was honest, she was more than grateful that David, with his more mundane upbringing, was the primary force in the way her daughters were raised. Both had a good work ethic, something Holly never really developed. The woman could be thoughtless, forget to buy groceries, or use the last of whatever to make herself a beautiful vegetable omelet. They had a service that supposedly delivered food, and the mother of two did enjoy shopping. In her own way Holly tried to look after her children. Lord knows she was more involved in their lives then her own parents had been in hers.

The mother of two sighed and looked out the window of the beach house her daughters had no idea about. It was where she was supposed to bring her lovers, so as to not disturb the family. Holly didn't work, and sometimes, early on, enjoyed the illusion of the classic family, with her husband seeming to earning enough with his job as a police detective that she could stay home and raise the kids. Only, that didn't work because Holly couldn't stand to be stuck at home with her kids. So as soon as they were weened, and in school, and could handle a good portion of the job of raising themselves, she just let them. Their mother needed other distractions.

Right now, she was making something, experimenting with food. It was one of her more domestic joys, and her family had eaten more than one benefit of her work. The family pot pie was good. Something to be shared with the family, with the right mix of spices and veggies plus meat to satisfy her girls. Andre had no right to disrespect that pie, and she knew it. Her focus clarified as she continued to play around with a new dish, a variant on the classic meatloaf, mixing in some other meats to vary the flavor. Food was her passion, and had she not avoided the concept, because it would have been too much work, she'd have made an excellent chef. Only, she'd been raised to believe that it was her husbands job to provide, and hers to… Okay, lets not go there.

David, he knew what he was getting into. Back when they got married, and got that house, the entire image of the upper middle class family, he knew exactly what he was getting. He even signed a contract, made her sign it too, where they stated clearly what each partner was expect to bring to the equation. Holly would bring her trust fund, and have children, at least two, and David would look the other way just as long as Holly did everything she could to keep things discreet.

Gary had become a complication. Admittedly, when it started, she'd been interested in his broad shoulders, his good looks, and the fact that he was a solid, good looking man. But as time went on, she had to admit, she liked him because of thew thrill of the hunt, the whole flirting process, and due to the convenience of how close he was. Plus, he had a bad reputation. David had told her about it. Not warned, he'd accepted Gary as his partner specifically because of that reputation. The Lothario had no idea he was being requested for specifically his reputation, because David and Holly, while they did love one another, neither held any illusions about monogamy. Holly could have her affairs, and David…

She'd just always assumed he was gay. Wasn't that what Hispanic men did, play at being bisexual, have a girlfriend, a wife to show the world, and then they got to stay macho. No one would have guessed the real reason David didn't much mind. The man had some strange psychological condition where he had to get drunk to have relations with his wife, otherwise she was perceived as too dirty. He loved the romance, the whole setup, and any chance he got to romance his wife was treasured. It was when they got to the actual act that he balked. David didn't cheat, because any sexual act was abhorrent to him. The man had to have children, for his family, his parents, but he hated the act that helped generate them. Even self gratification was off the table, so most forms of scientific assistance wouldn't be available if they wanted to expand their family. People thought David was a saint for putting up with Holly, but most people agree, try living with a saint. David was far easier to deal with, her friend, her husband, and her partner.

Michael was late, so Holly did what she often did when her planned randevu fell through, she called her husband. David understood, Micheal wasn't the most reliable of choices, and once again lamented that his wife didn't like women, because David had no shortage of women interested in him, even if they had to share him with his wife. He was so sure they'd be more then satisfied with just Holly, given that she had developed some skills. Like food. Of course, the fact that they'd be breaking unwritten rules was an added thrill, something David understood about Holly as well.

Holly started packing up the dinner she'd planned for this evening, deciding to bring it home. Might as well do something for the kids. She hadn't cooked for them this week, and maybe they'd enjoy this new variant on her meatloaf. Regardless Michael was a no show.

Thoughts? What about this David? Does that kinda, sorta make sense? Feel free to review.
