Healer's Change.

I am putting this up, tell me if you'd prefer this over my Sanin Mika Story!

Four Months Before the Kyuubi Attack

Mika- Age Twelve

The Fourth Hokage, tall and strong and very blonde, looked down at Mika as he finished the Academy. "Are you wish to do this? It will not be an easy road?"

Mika nodded. "Yes, I thought of it often. I was saved by medical ninja, but I can also save a great many with the skills of a medic. Let me do this, make my own path. I am of a nobody bloodline, a nobody from a line of nobodies, but I do not have to be one forever. Let me find my path, and become all I can be with my own skills."

Nodding, the Fourth smiled. "I will allow it...you graduated top of your class, and you have the best academic scores since myself... you will start Monday. You will have no jonin sensei, since most of your time will be dedicated to the hospital. However, please be aware that your lessons will consist of extreme stamina and taijutsu training. That is a must for a medic. Your chakra levels are not all that high, you really will need to work on that."

"I am aware, it's also a part of why I need this. Solo training since I am not of a bloodline or clan."

"Then go, it will start on Monday. Prepare yourself, just go to the hospital instead of graduation. You need all the time you can get."

Bowing low, the boy offered the Hokage a smile. "Thank you."

"No problem, kid."

And so he went off, rushing toward his apartment. His eyes filled with warmth as he looked at the six books spread about. Books on medical jutsu, anatomy, botany, and so on. His future, made manifest, he was proud of what he had accomplished in the time since he first decided to be a medical ninja. "I can do this... my future is in front of me now... and no one will stand in my way."

Iida sensei, a tall man with blue hair and glasses, was Mika's first mentor as he walked into the hospital three days later. They met in a distant room complete with hundreds of scrolls on shelves, a koi pond and several tables. There was a powerful understanding in that room, making him feel as if he was in the center of knowledge.

"The Hokage said you were adamant on becoming a Medical ninja. Tell me, what do you bring to the table?"

Mika frowned. "Aside from remarkable intellect, high academic knowledge, the ability to consume books like a wildfire, and enough drive to overpower anyone in my way."

The man laughed. "Good, it will take all that and more to become a medic. First, let's get started with a little test I prepared." He gestured to a tall stack of papers. "Thos os to determine your total academic knowledge. The test, It starts now!"

And Mika dived in, tearing through the test. He had to figure out advanced mathematical formulas, read medical tests, figure out the priority of care and so on. It took an hour to finish, his poor hand cramping as he finished. "There..."

And Iida smirked, ready to grade him. "Let's see where you fall, kid. You can read scrolls one to five as I grade your work." Two hours passed, as Mika read on chakra control exercises. Iida soon huffed. "I was supposed to be hazing you... but your test... you passed, ab eighty three. Most new candidates never pass, those that do get nothing more than a seventy..." He tone was low, filled with suspicion.

"I told you, I devour books. I've red most of the medical section of the civilian part of the library over the last year or so."

The man's eyes widened, shock filling him with dull light. "That... you might become a medic after all, kid... now... shall we get started? I want you to master the Wall clinging and water walking exercise by the weeks end. We need all the medics we can get, and if your academic skills mean anything... you are going to be needed."

Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.

This was a joy to write.
