Chapter Eighteen: The Coochie Wars

The reborn trainers were seen walking out of the Great Marsh which was located over in Pastoria City, Sinnoh. "Those Quagsires have it out for me, I swear," Kenny said, "They chased me up another tree and kept me from catching any Pokémon in the Great Marsh because my Safari Balls fell out and they ate all of them."

"The Quagsires ate all of my Safari Balls too," Mina said sadly.

Snickering in amusement, Trip said, "The both of you guys really do have shit luck when it comes to Safari Zones, don't you?"

"Trip, be nice," Dawn gently scolded, "Anyway, we finished our objective when it came to the Great Marsh, so let's get going back to The Big Beauty. We need to do some crossing off of the list to see how far our goal for the Sinnoh region here is coming along."

"We also ought to give Team Heart the long and hard pounding that they have coming," Mina remarked. Suddenly, Kenny's named Machamp Zarbon came out of his ball to give off a resounding, moaning cry of aroused, sensual pleasure.

As Dawn rolled her eyes while Kenny recalled Zarbon, the group was hailed down by, surprisingly enough, Crasher Wake, the gym leader who runs the gym in Pastoria City. "Yo, Champion Dawn! I got it that you were back in Sinnoh!" Crasher Wake called out, "I saw it in the news, you and a few of your friends stopped an attack in Veilstone City being carried our by Team Heart!"

Nodding once in the affirmative, Dawn replied, "How have you been, Crasher Wake?"

Letting out a huff, Crasher Wake replied, "There's a lot going on here in Sinnoh, why I heard from the Canalave City gym leader, Byron, that he heard rumor that Team Heart was planning to collect some stuff from Iron Island, so he's gonna rustle up a posse to go deal with it."

The reborn trainers nodded in acknowledgement of what Crasher Wake said. They were also glad to hear that Byron in the Team Heart timeline is still alive; he was killed in the Team Scorn timeline, so hearing he's alive and well here in the Team Heart timeline made them feel good. "Well we ought to go check things out over in Canalave City and Iron Island, then," Dawn remarked.

"What were you doing in the Great Marsh, though?" Crasher Wake said, "You kids look like you just came out from it. Catching some more Pokémon, I take it?"

"Mina and I couldn't," Kenny said, "Quagsires ate all of our Safari Balls after chasing the both of us up a tree."

Crasher Wake, a mildly surprised look on his face, said, "Umm... wow. That's some awfully crummy luck the two of you got there. I hope that it'll improve."

"Given that said bad luck pertains exclusively to their efforts in Safari Zones, I think that Kenny and Mina will be fine elsewhere," Trip remarked.

Later, after flying over to Canalave City and landing in an open field next to the local gym, Dawn with an away team of Kenny, Trip, Mina, Lucas, Paul, and Barry asked around for the posse that Byron was throwing together to go deal with Team Heart shenanigans over on Iron Island. "So where do you think we can find Byron?" Barry asked, "I mean he's not at the gym."

"Maybe he's in a more open and public place like a park," Lucas remarked.

Dawn was about to nod in agreement, but stopped short upon hearing the familiar voice of Byron, a voice she thought she'd never hear again, call out, "I love bringing the fight to Team Heart!" Dawn looked over and spotted Byron on a stage before a crowd of people who all looked to be trainers that were ready and willing to throw down; a few common but strong looking Sinnoh Pokémon were mixed into the crowd before the stage Byron stood on. The stage was set up in front of the local Pokémon Center in Canalave City.

The away team from The Big Beauty made their way over, and upon getting close enough Trip called out, "Oi, Byron-senpai!"

Byron stopped short, looked over and spotted Dawn and her away team. "Well I'll be!" Byron called out, "It's Champion Dawn and a posse of her friends! Including her brother who values steel type Pokémon as much as I do!" As Dawn and her away team made their way over to where Byron was at, Byron asked, "What brings you to Canalave City?"

"We were in Pastoria City when we ran into Crasher Wake who told us what you were up to," Dawn began, "Something about possible Team Heart activity either over on Iron Island or here in Canalave City. Either way, my crew and I wanna help bring the pain to Team Heart."

Byron let out a boisterous, booming laugh of good mirth. "Now that's an attitude worthy of the Champion of Sinnoh! If you're looking to help bring the fight to Team Heart, then stick with me! I'm still gathering up a posse to lead on over to Iron Island to flush out those villains in Team Heart!"

Looking around, Paul said, "I have a rather pertinent question, Byron. Assuming everyone here will be heading on over to Iron Island, how will we all get there? There's no way one boat alone will carry us all over to Iron Island."

"I have TWO boats ready and waiting to bring everyone over to Iron Island!" Byron declared, a look of assured confidence on his face.

Dawn looked around at the crowd herself. "...They had better be some really big boats, because this crowd is looking to be needing it."

"And the posse is only going to grow!" Byron declared, "As soon as we reach the necessary number of trainers, it's off to Iron Island!" Dawn was mentally prepping herself to call The Big Beauty over to Iron Island in case there was an emergency as she and her away team began to mingle with all of the trainers that Byron had already gathered.

The trainers were all excited to see Dawn in person, as she's not only the Champion of Sinnoh but also the Monarch of the World Coronation Series. Their morale had already jumped up by several spikes due to Dawn's being there reassuring them that they'll beat Team Heart back and right off of Iron Island, defending Sinnoh from the reach of the Empire once again.

Later over on Iron Island, Byron stood before all of the gathered trainers at the docks. "Whew! Glad that all of us were able to get here!" Byron called out.

"Umm, yeah," called out one male trainer, "You couldn't have gotten bigger boats or at least one more boat of the same size? Those two boats were tight squeezes to bring all of us here!"

"It's gonna be a pain to take all of them back!" called out another male trainer.

"Yeah, Sinnoh's government is being stingy right now," Byron said, "Anywho, let's search Iron Island for those no good Team Heart villains and flush them out!"

...

As the gathered heroes began searching Iron Island, Dawn and her away team which was one of the search groups were looking around. "Yeah, I may have to call The Big Beauty over to help bring everyone back to Canalave City," Dawn said dryly, a look of bemusement on her face as she led her away team in searching around Iron Island.

"The other trainers have a point," Barry remarked, "We were squeezed in way tightly on those two boats! I have a right mind to fine Byron for packing everyone in too tightly!"

"I'm figuring that Byron had to make due with what he had access to," Mina said, "He did say that the government of Sinnoh is being stingy."

"The government of Sinnoh is also being stupid and paranoid," Paul scowled, "If them having Reggie arrested because he helped two Team Heart members despite not knowing at the time that they were members of Team Heart are any indication."

Dawn wasn't exactly a fan of how her region's government was acting right now. Sinnoh was hardly being better than Kanto, at least Sinnoh doesn't have asshole-ish regional security men who use their job as an excuse to be assholes to the common people. But they're still making some rather bonehead-ish moves, they could have at least granted Reggie some leniency considering the fact that he had no idea that the men he had helped were members of Team Heart.

As Dawn and her away team searched Iron Island, Lucas spoke up, "Hey, umm, quick question. What all here on Iron Island would Team Heart be interested in? I mean if people are worried enough that Team Heart may come here for some odd reason to send people here to stop Team Heart, there has got to be something of immediate value to those villains."

"Iron Island is a source of valuable resources," Trip explained, "Mostly metal but occasionally precious metal had also been reported to have been found here. There's also various wild Pokémon native to Iron Island, including Steelix." Indeed, it was what Team Scorn in the previous timeline was after on Iron Island, so it may very well hold that Team Heart here in the current timeline would be coming here for the same reason.

If Team Heart were to be able to capture a whole mess of wild Steelix, such a force could be used to terrible effect were Team Heart to use it to help them with invading and conquering other lands to add to the territories of the Team Heart Empire. It was not something that Dawn enjoyed imagining, the thought of Team Heart using a horde of Steelix to attack various towns in some odd region to beat said region down and conquer it.

"Yeah, yeah that does sound like something that Team Heart would come to Iron Island for," Paul remarked, "Steelix are a large and powerful Pokémon, having a whole herd of them for leading into battle against towns in a region to help them with their conquests does make sense from a logical standpoint." Pounding a fist into his hand, Paul scowled, "All the more reason to keep Team Heart from finding any measure of success here."

"There's also how Team Heart could logically also go after the resources that are gathered here," Mina said, "The metal and occasional precious metal. The metal can be used as material for doing some building, which they'll be interested in especially if there's something they wanna rebuild and or repair in one of their lands. As for the precious metal, well that just means more money."

"So let's just flush Team Heart out," Kenny began, "Battle them, and give them the fierce poundings that they all have coming!" After Kenny said that, Zarbon the named Machamp came out and gave off a resounding, moaning cry of aroused, sensual pleasure. "Sorry about that," Kenny apologized to the group as he recalled Zarbon.

As the away team continued with its search, they heard some combat up on ahead. Alarmed, Dawn led the rest of the away team along and came over a hill. Looking down into the resulting valley, the away team saw, to their surprise, that Byron was leading some of the trainers against a slightly superior number of Team Heart members. There was enough Team Heart there to keep all of the heroic trainers occupied in battle, with Team Heart personnel to spare.

This allowed for the one uniquely dressed member of Team Heart who was present, plus a somewhat short male Team Heart grunt, to stand by and supervise the whole thing without any need for worry. The uniquely dressed member of Team Heart was obviously the Officer, probably a Captain, of Team Heart who was leading the Team Heart efforts here on Iron Island.

He was a bald, fair skinned older man with very light gray bushy eyebrows, moustache, and a beard of mildly notable length. He wore a pair of black sunglasses with pink frames, a pink baggy long sleeved martial artist's top with black trim and highlights, black pants that complimented the top, a pair of black slip on shoes with pink soles, and the black Team Heart 'H' was on the martial artist's top over the left pectoral.

The shorter male Team Heart grunt was a fair skinned youth who looked to be about the same biological age as the average among Dawn and her away team. He had scruffy, chin length black hair, and he wore the standard male Team Heart grunt outfit. He also looked bored, a dry monotone look seemingly permanently plastered on his face.

"Team Heart has Byron and his men surrounded!" Barry exclaimed as he ran on in without even waiting for Dawn or the others to say anything.

"Barry!" Dawn called out, obviously annoyed with Barry's rushing off. Scowling in annoyance, Dawn said, "Geez! Barry is almost as bad in this regard as-"

"I'm taking on the uniquely dressed older man and his short sidekick!" Kenny declared as he rushed on in, "Imma need backup!"

"Damn it, Kenny!" Dawn exclaimed before she and the others had to rush in after Kenny and Barry who both act before thinking.

...

The uniquely dressed member of Team Heart stood by with his shorter companion as all of the battling unfolded before them. "Figures that some would be heroes would try to stop Team Heart efforts here in the Sinnoh region," said the shorter companion in a dry monotone kind of voice, "What do you think, Captain Martin?"

*ZZZZZZZZZZZZ*

The shorter male Team Heart grunt turned to look at the uniquely dressed older man, apparently identified as Captain Martin, who had apparently fallen asleep standing up. The shorter grunt could only roll his eyes dryly at the Captain falling asleep in the middle of a Team Heart mission being done in a bid to up Team Heart's power in Sinnoh.

The shorter grunt turned to look back at the battle just in time to see Kenny and Barry come running right on up to where they all stood. "Oh crap, that's one of Dawn Berlitz's companions," said the shorter grunt. Turning back to look at Martin, the shorter grunt said loudly, "Hey, Captain Martin! We have some company!"

"*SNRT* I'm awake, I'm awake!" Martin said, snorting a bit as he was suddenly woken up. Looking to Kenny and Barry, Martin said, "Who in the hell are you two boys?"

"We're the trainers who are gonna beat you!" Barry declared, "Now get ready! The two of you are gonna be in for such a fine!"

Kenny, looking confused, said, "Wait, were you asleep when Barry and I came up to you?!"

"Damn it, boy," Martin exclaimed, "It was the wars! The wars have left me damaged!"

Now it was Barry's turn to look confused. "...Umm," Barry began, "What sort of wars are you talking abo-"

"There I was," Martin began, clearly looking like he was about to ramble on about complete and utter nonsense, "Back to back with Arceus! Religious tome in my right hand, machine gun on the left. Ready to bless these unholy thots with our divine sauce." Continuing on, Martin said, "I was down to my last clip, so I yelled out to Arceus from across the orphanage. I yelled 'Arceus! I need a melee weapon!'." Gently shaking his head, Martin said, "Never before had I seen an Alolan throw a sandal so fast in my entire life."

Raising his head back up, Martin concluded his story with, "Six-hundred and fifty-seven prostitutes fell that day to the Holy Sandal of Alolan Arceus. Yessir, it was a day that went down in history as the coochie wars."

Looking to Kenny and Barry, the shorter male grunt said with a dry look and comparable tone, "Yeah, Captain Martin is like this, like, all the time."

"So he's a Captain," Barry said, he and Kenny looking like they were trying to process things although Kenny looked as if he was processing things here a hell of a lot faster than Barry.

Nodding once, the shorter grunt said, "I'm Captain's Assistant Artemis Jr., in case either of the two of you were wondering. I work under Third Captain Martin here. I would have been the Captain's Assistant serving under my dad, First Captain Artemis. But he had me work under Captain Martin here for two reasons."

"And what would those be?" Barry asked.

"One, someone needed to keep an eye on my dad's Captain's Assistant, Jim," the now identified Artemis Jr. began to explain, "And two, someone needed to keep an eye on Captain Martin here."

"The... the native Team Heart members of Sinnoh sure are a... colorful cast of characters," Barry said, still uncertain of how to take a person like Martin.

"You don't know the half of it," Artemis Jr. replied dryly.

Taking out a Pokéball, Kenny said, "Well either way, you two are going down! By the powers of cringe, moxie, and The Hose, I shall not allow Team Heart to find rule in Sinnoh so long as I can still draw any breath!" Sending out his Pokémon, Kenny called out, "Okay, Zarbon! Let's make it cringe!"

"Go, Heracross!" Barry said as he sent out his Heracross.

"Go, Glameow!" Martin said as he sent out a Glameow.

"Go Espurr," Artemis Jr. said in a bored tone as he sent out an Espurr that looked as bored with everything as Artemis Jr. himself. Gesturing forward, Artemis Jr. said, "Espurr, use Psychic on Heracross!"

"Heracross, use Lunge on Espurr!" Barry ordered.

"Zarbon, use Dynamic Punch on Glameow!" Kenny commanded.

*ZZZZZZZZZZZZ* Martin had fallen asleep standing up again, making his Glameow looked surprised right before it was slugged in the face with a Dynamic Punch and knocked out.

"Captain Martin!" Artemis Jr. called out loudly, snapping Martin awake again.

Looking around, Martin saw that his Glameow was knocked out. "Damn it, I fell asleep again!" Martin snapped as he recalled his Glameow and sent out a Drampa. As for Artemis Jr.'s Espurr, it was able to damage Barry's Heracross, but it wasn't enough as Heracross was able to push through the pain and strike with Lunge, knocking Espurr out.

Artemis Jr. was forced to recall his Espurr and send out his next Pokémon, another Espurr who looked as bored with everything as the first. "Hey, I just knocked that Pokémon out!" Barry cried out as he pointed at the second Espurr.

"I have two," Artemis Jr. explained dryly, "Now then, Espurr, use Psychic on Heracross!"

"Heracross, use Lunge on Espurr!" Barry ordered.

"Zarbon, use Cross Chop on Drampa!" Kenny commanded.

"Drampa, use Dragon Pulse on Heracross!" Martin ordered.

Heracross was able to push through and take out the second Espurr from Artemis Jr., but it took both a Psychic and a Dragon Pulse for its troubles and was knocked out. But Zarbon took out the Drampa with a well placed Cross Chop that went critical.

Recalling his second fainted Espurr, Artemis Jr. said with a dry tone and likewise expression, "Yeah, I'm out of Pokémon that can fight."

"But I'm not!" Barry declared as he sent out another Pokémon, "Go, Staraptor!"

"Then it's up to me," Martin said after recalling his fainted Drampa before sending out a third Pokémon, "Go, Torkoal!"

After Martin's Torkoal came out, Barry called out, "Staraptor, use Wing Attack on Torkoal!"

"Zarbon, use Stone Edge on Torkoal!" Kenny called out.

Looking to Martin, Artemis Jr. said, "We're in a lot of trouble here, Captain Martin! What are you going to have Torkoal do?"

*ZZZZZZZZZZZZ*

Artemis Jr. nearly face planted when he saw that Martin had fallen asleep standing up again. Without getting orders to do anything period, Torkoal was a sitting duck as it was hit by Zarbon and Staraptor, getting knocked out in the process. When Artemis Jr. was able to wake Martin back up, the older man saw that his Torkoal had been defeated.

"Damn it, you boys took advantage of it while I was passing out!" Martin scowled at Kenny and Barry, "It's not my fault I'm drunk right now!"

"Wait a minute," Artemis Jr. began, "You led the mission here to Iron Island while intoxicated?! Captain Martin, what the hell?!"

"Aha!" Barry declared triumphantly, "Now that the lynchpin of the attack here on Iron Island being carried out by Team Heart has been defeated, ending the attack and taking as many of you guys as possible as prisoners will be easier than giving you a fine!"

"Don't go counting us out just yet, young lady!" Martin snapped at Barry.

"I'M A BOY!" Barry yelled. While Barry was distracted, Artemis Jr. took the liberty of calling for some backup to distract Kenny and Barry. The two heroes being surrounded by some Team Heart grunts gave ample cover to Martin and Artemis Jr., allowing the two of them to escape capture. But although the Officer and his Assistant were able to get away, things on Iron Island were not going to be ending favorably for Team Heart.

Not so long as Dawn and her away team were there and were able to do anything about it.

Later, a few police boats came to Iron Island, as did The Big Beauty who Dawn called in. The reason why there were as many police boats as there were plus the summoning of Dawn's flying ship was due to how Team Heart apparently had the idea to wreck the boats that Byron and his posse took to Iron Island to confront Team Heart. This left the heroes effectively stranded on Iron Island until help came in the form of the police boats and The Big Beauty.

The police boats were also needed to escort the captured Team Heart members off of Iron Island; a total of six Team Heart grunts, three male and three female, were captured by the heroes. Given the sheer number that Martin had on Iron Island, Dawn estimated that at most only a fraction of the Team Heart grunts who were on Iron Island were captured and taken into custody. Not all that big of a score, but the heroes will take any win scored against Team Heart that they can get.

One police boat took the male Team Heart grunts, one took the female Team Heart grunts, the other boats all took three trainers from Byron's posse each, and the remainder of the posse plus Byron himself all had to go on board of The Big Beauty. It was the first time that Dawn could ever recall there being so many persons in her flying ship all at once while it was flying; she has had guided tours of The Big Beauty done to help generate extra revenue, but said tours were always while The Big Beauty was parked on the ground.

Regardless, everyone in the posse that Byron took to Iron Island to confront Team Heart was able to get back to Canalave City no problem. While the Team Heart grunts were taken away, Byron had all of the posse members gathered outside of his gym as he stood on a small stage to look over the whole of the crowd. "We did it, lads!" Byron cheered, "We've defeated Team Heart, chased them off of Iron Island, and even captured a few of their numbers!"

"But the Team Heart Officer leading the attack on Iron Island," Lucas spoke up, "Plus his Assistant, were able to get away."

"Yeah, capturing any Team Heart member of consequence is very much difficult," Byron admitted. Changing tunes quickly, Byron went on, "But we have shown Team Heart that the Sinnoh region is to not be messed with! Soon enough, they'll get the idea for good and leave Sinnoh alone!" Byron then led the posse in cheering in victory, given that those who defend Sinnoh had scored another victory in the struggle against Team Heart.

...

"So you and Barry faced the Captain and his Assistant," Paul said as he and the rest of Dawn's away team spoke to Kenny and Barry after Byron's rally. Everyone has since long gotten back on board of The Big Beauty.

Nodding once, Kenny said, "We learned that the Assistant is the son of another Team Heart Captain of Sinnoh's native Sector."

"Wait, one Assistant is the son of a Captain," Mina began, "But he ISN'T the Assistant working for his Captain dad? Why is that?"

"The Captain who led the efforts over on Iron Island apparently needs someone to keep an eye on him," Barry said, "Also, the Assistant whose dad is another Captain said that his Captain dad's actual Assistant also needs constant supervision."

Folding his arms over his chest, Trip said, "It sounds to me like the Officer staff of Sinnoh's native Sector of Team Heart is filled with a bunch of eccentric idiots." Looking to Kenny, Trip went on, "With that being said, it makes sense that Kenny has fought all Sinnoh Team Heart Officer staff members that we've encountered thus far. If there's one person in the world who's an expert on what it means to be an eccentric idiot, it's gotta be Kenny."

Kenny, with a bemused look on his face, said, "I'm not sure if I should be offended or flattered."

"Did we learn why Team Heart was up to no good on Iron Island?" Paul asked. A relevant question, and asking it also served the purpose of changing the subject, something that Paul was very much hoping to do.

"Luckily for us," Dawn began, similarly as eager to change the subject, "We got the reason from one of the female rank and file level members of Team Heart that was captured over on Iron Island earlier. It turns out that Team Heart were planning to track down some of the wild Steelix that can be found living over there and capture all that they could find."

"Team Heart wanted to capture a bunch of wild Steelix?" Barry asked, looking a little bit confused. Straightening up a bit, Barry went on, "Well how is that a bad thing? Because from the sounds of it, Team Heart actually wasn't up to anything illegal."

"Firstly," Paul began, "Regardless if all of their intended actions over on Iron Island weren't illegal, they're STILL members of Team Heart, and thusly are criminals who need to be apprehended. Secondly, they were aiming to track down and capture a bunch of wild Steelix, and I don't believe that I need to ask others to come up with what Team Heart could use a bunch of Steelix for."

Dawn nodded in agreement; it was similar to what Team Scorn back in the other timeline were doing on Iron Island, capture a bunch of Steelix. No doubt Team Heart in the current timeline would use a horde of Steelix to terrible effect in laying siege to various places in free lands that they want to try and take over and add to the Team Heart Empire.

Luckily Team Heart was foiled before finding even one wild Steelix, and security has been beefed up over on Iron Island so as to prevent another bid by Team Heart to try and pull the scheme off again. "So it seems to me that Team Heart is trying to build up what it needs in order to have the strength necessary to continue with their world conquering schemes," Dawn began, "It's bad enough already that Princess Salvia's nation was taken over. What's next?"

"Well one thing's for certain," Kenny said, "It ain't gonna be Sinnoh, because if they try to take over our homeland, we'll bring down upon their heads all of the powers of cringe, moxie, and The Hose as we teach them better for even considering messing with our turf."

Kenny made a valid point. Sinnoh was the home region of some rather powerful trainers, including multiple trainers who own multiple legendary and mythical Pokémon each. With a force like that with a spearhead like that, surly even Team Heart would think twice about trying to mess around with Sinnoh. At least until they have enough manpower and resources to pull it off, and even then it'll be a rather tall order for the Team Heart Empire.

Cracking his neck a little bit, Lucas asked, "Alright, so where are we off to next?"

"There's something that Kenny told me he wanted to check out over at Snowpoint Temple," Dawn explained, "Something to do with Regigigas."

Paul's expression immediately became on guard. "Speaking of the legendary titans, I heard that Pyramid King Brandon was killed in an attack launched by Team Heart a while ago, during the most recent World Coronation Series. I believe that Kenny somehow got custody of Regigigas."

Dawn nodded in the affirmative. "Yes. We also recently got custody of the other legendary titans from Brandon's surviving family. Oh, that reminds me, we're going to be giving Brandon's nieces Tabitha and Clair a lift somewhere after Trip, Kenny, and I finish up work on the Sinnoh Pokédex."

Arching a wry eyebrow, Barry asked, "Where are we giving them a lift to?"

"Let's... just say where we're giving Tabitha and Clair a lift to is part of why we're considering leaving the disguised Salvia and Freesia with me and Trip's mom before we head on out of Sinnoh," replied Dawn, wanting to leave things ambiguous.

(Opelucid City, Unova)

Bianca, the Boss's Assistant of Team Heart and the public face that rules the Team Heart Empire, was sitting in her office at her manor in the wealthy neighborhood located in Opelucid City, Unova. The very well fed girl was going over a few forms when the usual maid came in. "I hope that I'm not disturbing you, Lady Bianca," the maid began.

Gently shaking her head, Bianca replied, "No, I was just finishing up some desk work. What's up?"

Holding up a form as she looked it over, the maid replied, "The mission in the Sinnoh region to capture as many of the wild Steelix native to Iron Island as possible has failed due to Canalave City gym leader Byron leading a posse of trainers over to stop Captain Martin of the Sinnoh Sector. Dawn Berlitz and some of her companions were part of the posse led by Byron."

Bianca gave off an unamused but accepting scowl. "Figured as much," Bianca said, "Dawn and her companionship are over in Sinnoh right now. I'm certain that the Sinnoh Sector won't be able to get much of their work done, not while Dawn and her companionship are over in Sinnoh. It'll be a while before Admin Zidane of the Sinnoh Sector can start having the wild Steelix native to Iron Island caught and sent in so that Team Heart can use them as siege engines to help with taking over the remaining free lands."

The maid nodded in understanding. From what the report she held, written and submitted by Captain Martin's Captain's Assistant Artemis Jr., said on the matter, the main reason why the posse led by Byron was successful in stopping Team Heart efforts on Iron Island was because Dawn and some of her friends were part of the posse.

Artemis Jr. in his report mentioned that, if Dawn and her friends weren't there, then even WITH the numbers Byron brought, Team Heart would have been able to get at least one wild Steelix. "Would it be acceptable to wait to try again on the wild Steelix native to Iron Island until Dawn Berlitz and her companionship leaves Sinnoh?" asked the maid, "Assuming that they WILL leave Sinnoh at some odd point in the future."

"Yeah, I was planning to send word to Admin Zidane to wait on trying again on the wild Steelix native to Iron Island until the coast is clear," Bianca replied as she leaned back in her chair. Bianca's desk chair is very well made, crafted from the best and most durable materials out there. Even with her considerable weight, Bianca leaning back in the chair wasn't going to damage it.

Nodding once, the maid went on, "We also got word from Admin Ken about efforts against the terrorist group Hoenn's Heroes."

Arching a wry eyebrow, Bianca sat herself forward. "Is it good news?"

"There is good news and better news," the maid began, a smile on her face, "Firstly, the good news. Johto Champion Gold and Unova Champion Nate, while helping a few dozen men of the Hoenn Sector of Team Heart, have succeeded in capturing former Hoenn Champion Brendan, along with several other known members of Hoenn's Heroes, including a young adult man named Chad who has been identified as the older cousin of Brendan."

That did put a smile on Bianca's round, plump face. "How did they capture Brendan and his fellows?"

"That's the thing," the maid began, "Brendan and his fellows actually surrendered to the Team Heart authority. There was no actual effort given to capture them as no force was needed."

That actually surprised Bianca. "...Really. A trainer of Brendan's level of skill and power actually gave up with zero fight whatsoever."

"And here's the better news," the maid went on, "The captured members of Hoenn's Heroes provided to Team Heart men in Hoenn info on how to locate all Hoenn's Heroes bases. Said info has already seen some use, leading to the capture of several prominent men in the terrorist group, including that Chandler fellow who had led both the attack on Fallarbor Town and had a part in the attack on the labor camp in Lavaridge Town."

Bianca looked more and more intrigued. "Admin Ken is close to seeing Hoenn's Heroes wiped out in full."

"Indeed," the maid said as she took out a folded up letter, "This is a hand written missive from Admin Ken, denoting all important details."

Bianca received the letter and began reading it. "...Brendan, while acting like he was wholly on board with what Hoenn's Heroes was doing," Bianca began, "Gathered sufficient info on all bases that Hoenn's Heroes had, then compiled it with the intent to bring to Team Heart authority in the Hoenn region." Bianca looked to the maid. "...Maybe there are some good apples in batches that have at least one bad apple."

"Perhaps so, Lady Bianca," replied the maid.

Looking back to the missive, Bianca read on, "As far as what is known publicly, Brendan's cousin Chad is the one who gathered the info to bring to Team Heart authority. Chad wishes to protect Brendan from any possible backlash from people who aren't happy with Team Heart rule in Hoenn, so he's taking credit for sniffing out info on Hoenn's Heroes to bring to Team Heart authority."

"What should we do, Lady Bianca?" asked the maid.

"What are the current statuses of Brendan and his cousin?" Bianca asked.

"They are both in protective custody," the maid began, "But in a holding facility in Lilicove City rather than at any labor camp in Hoenn. Their Pokémon have been confiscated for the time being. Admin Ken has had to reprimand Captain Jessie of the Kanto Sector when she suggested selling the shiny Cacturne that belongs to Brendan."

Sighing, Bianca said, "Looks like some behaviors aren't all that easy to rub out of people." Heaving herself up from her seat with a grunt of effort, Bianca after she was standing said, "I'm planning on another trip to Hoenn. I believe that official pardons for Brendan and his cousin Chad are warranted, let's also prep one for all of their living relatives as well aside from Chandler. And I think it would have the most impact if I were the one to grant those pardons, and in person."

"Will the usual Friday tournament in Driftveil City and following party on Saturday be cancelled as a result, Lady Bianca?" asked the maid.

"Mmm, I'm afraid so," Bianca said, "I guess that I'll wait to grant a favor to someone in Unova. After all, I believe that someone in Hoenn deserves the honor more right now." A mischievous, knowing look appeared on Bianca's face. "...I'm pretty sure that Hoenn Champion Brendan will agree with me on that matter. What do you think?"

END, CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

Author's notes;

This chapter sees the reborn trainers do some Sinnoh dex work before heading on over to Canalave City and joining a posse that Byron (who's alive in the Team Heart timeline) is throwing together to head on over to Iron Island to kick some Team Heart butt. There, the heroes that were gathered stop a Team Heart plan to capture a bunch of the wild Steelix native to Iron Island, with Kenny and Barry fighting the Captain and his Assistant this time around.

Meanwhile in Unova, Bianca gets some very good news in the form of Brendan and Chad plus some fellows of theirs surrendering to Team Heart authority in Hoenn, as well as give them info that lets them effectively round up all of the heads of Hoenn's Heroes. The efforts there were pretty much solely Brendan's doing, but Chad is getting credit for it publicly to protect Brendan from any kind of backlash from folks in Hoenn who don't support Team Heart rule.

Anyway, the next chapter will see the crew of The Big Beauty go to Snowpoint Temple located in Snowpoint City because Kenny wants to check something out over there. But it won't be all fun and games as there's gonna be more Team Heart trouble. Until then, take care.
