(Pitter)
Ballz:
Apparently, #Fuse was fighting #Challenger_Lily recently. Heard it from a friend who lived in Ballonea but he didn't have the video. Anyone have it?
Tweet Tweet:
Yeah, I got it.
[Video of Lily against Fuse. It was recorded behind a random tree nearby.]
Ballz:
Did Lily throw the match?
RestlessG:
Yeah, it looks like she definitely did. Though, considering that Fuse needed 3 Pokemon just to beat her Ludicolo, which is the first time we've seen it, she could've won if she wanted to.
Wide Awake:
Corviknight, Obstagoon, Mimikyu, and now Ludicolo? This is a pretty weird team that Lily is rocking with. She still hasn't revealed her last two Pokemon yet.
You Only Live Once:
Imagine if one is just like a baby Pokemon and the other is a legendary Pokemon. That would be funny.
All for Fuse:
Bros, did Fuse stocks just drop.
LILYTHEGOAT:
Lmao bro it's your fault for trusting a fraud with your money. Meanwhile Lily is beating a Regi with just a Ludicolo! THAT'S MY GOAT! BEATING LEON THIS YEAR!
Yargios:
Lmao nobody is beating Leon. Don't get too high on your supply.
Above the Wild Zone
Fuse
Flying on the back of Washington, I look down at the wild zone we were passing by as I think back to the battle that just happened.
An exchange rate of three to one was… Okay. Maybe.
It absolutely was not, especially when Lily probably won't let me fight a two on one in the final battle we have.
That being said, Florida and Hawaii being able to knock out the Ludicolo after California kicked in the door was still pretty good. And the evolution into Tinkatuff and Volcorona was pretty good.
Still though, I definitely need to fill out my 12 Pokemon roster as fast as possible…
Letting the scenery pass me by, I idly think of the next 5 Pokemon I want on my roster.
First of all, I need a water type. I absolutely hated water, still. I haven't gotten around to trying to fix my aquaphobia that I gained all those months ago.
That being said, that aquaphobia is the same reason why I haven't just jumped into the ocean or a random lake to grab the first water Pokemon that comes into my hand. And like hell I'll tolerate fishing…
Hm, I'll probably want to get at least one of every type in my 12 Pokemon. There were like, 18 types, right? I just need…
I started counting on my fingers and looked at all of my Pokemon in my inventory. As it turns out, I needed basically half the type chart still.
Ice, ghost, fighting, poison, psychic, water, ground, and rock.
Thinking about it a little further, getting 8 types in 5 Pokemon might be a little difficult. Especially in Galar…
Hm, what type combinations could I get that would check off as many boxes as possible?
Looking down at the wild area…
I did a double take as I saw a Seismitoad and Coalossal just chilling together near the water.
Well, that's 3 types in 2 Pokemon right there. Though, why would those two Pokemon even hang out with each other? There's no correlation between the two.
…
Well, whatever, maybe they just so happened to be good friends. It wouldn't be the weirdest thing to happen for a Coalossal to randomly find a Seismitoad and befriend him.
What the fuck am I saying? That is definitely one of the weirdest things that could happen. I don't think these Pokemon are in the same habitat as each other!
Agh, whatever, at least this works out for me anyways.
Tapping Washington on the back, I told my Braviary, "Hey, those two Pokemon down there? Those are our new team members."
Naturally, Washington's next course of action was to dive straight down, completely uncaring of whether I could handle such a steep dive or not.
Of course, I could, but that was still a bit rude.
Washington levels himself out to land safely, and the Seismitoad and Coalossal were only mildly concerned at our presence.
Jumping off his back, I slowly approached the two fully evolved Pokemon.
So, the plan to get them to join my team was simple. I would just cater to their desires as living beings.
I threw out every single Pokemon I had, outnumbering them 7 to 2.
Every one of them did their thing, acting as intimidating as possible. But the two Pokemon in front of them weren't that phased.
That was fine, that just meant that they passed the bar for what I want on my team.
Raising a hand towards them, I simply asked, "Do you want to join my team? The both of you."
After my clarification, the two of them looked to each other, silently deliberating the offer. It was convenient that basically every Pokemon could understand what I was saying. Though whether that's a Pokemon thing or a Beast Master thing, God knows.
After a few moments, the two Pokemon roared out in agreement.
Coalossal and Seismitoad immediately rush towards us, charging up their respective moves, ready to fight.
Ah, of course I needed some absolute idiots on my team.
Pointing towards them, all 7 of my current Pokemon eagerly meet them in battle.
Humming, I decide on a whim, "Alright, Coalossal, you're Arizona. Seismitoad, you're Georgia."
They didn't stand a chance. Of course they didn't.
That being said, they still took out Florida, Ohio, and New Jersey. But the type matchups against Tinkatuff, Shiinotic, and Kingambit were in their favor, so I'm not gonna count that.
The two fully evolved Pokemon whimpered, probably still sore from the beating they got from the rest of my Pokemon. But hey, they deserved it.
Calling them back to their Pokeballs, I decided that my next destination should probably be that ice town, Circhester, to go and find an ice type Pokemon.
Hm, was there a psychic-ice Pokemon? I feel like there was, but I can't quite remember…
Ah, well, whatever. All I need is an ice type anyways.
Washington avoided the brunt of the damage, so he was still capable of flying me. And I would rather sit on his back than to actually do any of the flying myself.
And so, I set out to my next destination, Circhester.
AN:
This chapter is 1k words long.
You might be saying, "Hey, you said 2k words was the minimum! What's the deal?"
The deal is that it's my fic and I can do what I want.
But the actual reason is that I once again procrastinated too hard and I accidentally burnt myself out of writing for a bit after that whole 5 chapters in 6 days attempt for my anniversary, which was actually just 4 and a half chapters in 6 days.
…But the more relevant reason is that I didn't start writing this chapter until like, a good 8 hours ago at 12 AM. I was legit fighting my motivation to write at night and it's 7:45 AM now.
I'll start actually writing these chapters earlier now that Game Development ran out of backlog, trust.
I'm done with writing chapters literally on the day they're due. It's just not good for me, man.
[Also some mild burnout on collecting 12 Pokemon. Never trusting a Pokemon arc ever again. Should've just let that joke of revealing that Fuse had 6 more Pokemon in his back pocket die in my planning docs.]
[This chapter is named Rock Bottom because this fic is currently at Rock Bottom. But hey, we can only go up from here!]
