For those of you who are wondering: why aren't you writing for Legends, this is your answer, I honestly don't feel ready to write for it yet. I love legends. It's one of my favorite shows, but I have a lot of mixed feelings because of how it affected the team. All of my favorite characters left, and I don't know how to keep some of them. Another thing is I never really got to find something to keep me motivated enough to continue writing it. So one day I came up with this. A story about my second all-time favorite character in Glee, Rory Flanagan, which takes place in my all-time favorite season. Uhh, I think I got this. Also, this is a shout-out to the now discontinued fanfic, Glee Project: Live Out Loud!

In the airport, we find a couple of suitcases being rolled out of a gate by a tall young man with a green button shirt and jeans with an Elvis-style haircut. He carries the suitcase to the front entrance. He stops right there, seeing as it's a rainy night. He sat on a bench and waited a few minutes before he saw a grey car parked near him. He then sees a middle-aged man with a baseball cap get out of the car and walks up to him.

"Hey there. Rory, right?" He asks the young man.

He is happy to reply in an Irish accent. "Yes, that's me. And you're... Burt?"

The now-named Burt nods. "Yep. OK, let's get your bags in the car, and get you home. My kids will be happy to meet you. Well, kid. Finn is the son of my girlfriend, who's living with me... it's kinda a long story." He said as they got the bags in the trunk of the car.

"I'd love to hear it. Hey, I'd just want to say, it's grand that you're my host parent. I've never been to America, so it's nice knowing that someone's gonna help me."

Burt waves it off. "Eh, it's no trouble. I mean, Carole thought that it would be a good idea to have someone else in the house to be... kind of a buffer, between the boys. They don't have a lot in common, so this may be good for them."

After they both get in the car, they mostly stay quiet for the ride to the Hummel residence. You see, Rory here, as you've guessed, is a foreign exchange student from Ireland. He was born into a pretty wealthy family. They didn't live in a mansion, but they were happy. However, Rory felt like he was sheltered from the rest of the world. So one day he went to his family and mentioned an idea where he would go to his first year of high school in America, see how it goes, and maybe even stay there for a while. Honestly, his first mistake was going for Ohio. It's 2010. Ohio isn't exactly the most friendly state in America right now. But he was very naive and willing to go for it. Plus there is a high school, called McKinley that has a nationally-ranked cheerleading squad. He's not into cheerleading, but they've got to be doing something right. They also have a show choir that came in 3rd in regionals, but they sounded good in the YouTube videos he saw. His favorite was Finn Hudson. He was tall, athletic, a good singer, and was cool. So when he found out that he was going to be living with him, and his possibly future brother Kurt Hummel, whom he shares a similar look with, he decided that he should go for it.

They reach the house and Rory grabs his suitcases from the trunk before Burt grabs the door handle. "Ready kid?"

Rory takes a breath getting ready to take this next chapter in his life. He then nods and Burt opens the door for him, welcoming him to his home away from home. He walks in and finds a tidy, and big home. He set his bags down on the couch and sat next to them.

"Yeah, we set up an air mattress behind the couch." Rory looked back and noticed it. It even had racing stripes on the covering. He liked it. It kind of reminded him of the NASCAR races he watched on American television. He waited for a few minutes before Burt came back with two guys around his age. Both of which he recognized from the regional competition he watched. The shorter one with the fancy hair, and coat that ends at the knee is Kurt Hummel, who surprisingly looked similar to him. The tall one with a plain look was Finn Hudson, who was his idol. "Rory, I'd like to introduce you to the boys. This is my son Kurt."

Kurt steps forward and offers Rory a hand to shake. "Well hello, kind sir. It's a pleasure to meet someone with a hairstyle similar to mine."

"Umm, nice to meet you too, Kurt."

Burt continues. "And this is Carole's son, Fi-"

"Finn Hudson." Rory finishes for him with wide eyes.

Finn raises his eyebrow. "You know who I am?"

"I saw you on YouTube when you had a brutal loss at regionals."

The two possible brothers to be wince at that. Was that a popular thing? "Umm."

"I'm a big, big fan."

"Alright, why don't you guys get to know each other while I figure out how to make curry? Thankfully you can learn anything on YouTube." Burt said before backing up to the kitchen, leaving the boys alone.

Finn sees Rory on the couch. "So, tell me about yourself."

"My name's Rory Flanagan. I'm a foreign exchange student from Ireland. And I love everything about America, especially NASCAR, your half-black president and Victoria's Secret catalogs."

"Yeah. Cool. Me, too."

Kurt shakes his head at the two straight boys. "Gross."

Finn turns his head to Kurt with narrow eyes. "Don't give me that. I know what happened during invitationals week, man." Kurt turns red, embarrassed after being found out.

Kurt composes himself and sits down at Rory's right side. "Well, I'm Kurt Hummel. I like fashion, broadway, and in my downtime, playing with sais. Also, I'm gay so if you have a problem, then we're having a problem."

Rory shakes his head. "No, no problem here. In Ireland, you'll find that people can be very accepting."

Kurt nods. "Good to hear. So, do you sing?"

"I sing plenty. I'm in a church choir back home. Michael Bublé, Dean Martin, Elvis, and Frank Sinatra are my inspirations."

"That explains the hair."

"Yeah. So what do you guys do?"

Finn puts himself back in the conversation. "Well, as you know, we're both in a Glee club. But, I also happen to be the quarterback of the football team. I don't like to brag but... I'm pretty much the most popular kid in school."

Rory stares in awe. "Amazing."

"Thanks. You do any sports?"

"Umm, yeah. I love football."

"Oh cool."

Kurt drops in. "He means Soccer. I did some research on Ireland, Soccer's called football."

Finn points a confused look to Kurt. "Then what do they call Football then?"

Rory raises his hand. "American Football."

Burt then pokes his head out of the kitchen door. "Hey Kurt, can you help your old man out? This curry's harder to make than I thought."

Kurt sighs. "Coming Dad! Talk later, Rory." He said as he went to help his father in peril.

Finn grabs his host brother by the shoulder. "It's okay to be nervous, but don't worry, we've got your back."

Rory does his signature grin. "Thanks, Finn Hudson." He said, glad that his idol/host brother is going to be there for him.

Finn smirks at the admiration. "Call me Finn." He said as he walked away to the basement. Rory's eyes follow him until he's out of sight, and he then thinks, maybe I can do this. He feels a little more confident knowing he has friends with him on his journey.

Later on, after giving Rory a short tour around the school, Finn and Kurt went to the choir room for a Glee club meeting.

"These are comments from Jacob Ben Israel's most recent Glee Club blog. Glee is a giant ball of suck." The coach of the club, Mr. William "Will" Schuester said while reading a printed paper from the blog.

"We get it, Mr. Schue. Everyone still hates us. So what? So we're plankton on the high school food chain. The only difference now is that none of us care."

Kurt's best friend, an African-American girl named Mercedes Jones agrees. "Kurt's right. We're a family. They can bring it all they want. None of it is gonna break us."

"I'm happy that you guys have bonded. The problem is that all of this negative stuff is keeping other students from auditioning." Will mentions.

An Asian goth girl with blue streaks of hair scoffs with a smile. Her name is Tina Cohen-Chang. "Good. Why do we need new members?"

"Well, since Matt transferred, we only have 11 members. If we want to go to nationals- if we want to beat Vocal Adrenaline- we have to go from a small rebel force to a giant wall of sound." Will reasons and one member of the team rises from her seat. The female lead, and girlfriend of Finn Hudson, Rachel Berry.

"Yeah. Mr. Schuester's right, you guys. You didn't see Vocal Adrenaline at regionals. They were epic. We're gonna need more voices to beat them." She stands next to Will.

"Yeah. I'm with Rachel on this one." Finn said as he stood up at Rachel's side smiling at her.

"Gross." The blonde Cheerleader, Brittany S. Pierce said.

"You're gonna have to trust me on this, guys. Now, here's the plan. Nationals are in New York this year. And we are going!" This causes some excitement from the team, with this knowledge of possibility. "Now let's go out there and show the school how cool it's gonna be, how cool we can be. If they're not gonna come to us, let's go to them. They say we only sing show tunes and '80s pop. Let's show them how down we are. Let's Give 'em the Song of the Year" Will does a rapper-style cross-arm pose. "New Directions style."

They all shout in agreement with Will's statement. Some even repeat the pose.

Rory walks to lunch in the outside yard. He looked around for Finn and Kurt, but they were nowhere to be found. He then shrugs it off and walks to the first seat he can find. He sat on a round table with a bunch of kids he didn't know. He didn't know how to talk to them so he decided to just eat in silence. He continues to do so until he gets a tap on his left shoulder. He looks to his left and sees an Asian girl with a shorter height, a beret, a purple shirt, jeans, and a red backpack. She also has dark brown hair. "Hi, I'm Sunshine." He holds out her hand for him to take which he accepts.

"Rory." He said skeptically. He felt odd that she was just talking to him out of the blue.

"Is that an accent? Let me guess... Irish?"

"Exactly! I'm a foreign exchange student."

"No way, same here. I hail from the Philippines. I just got here."

Rory grins at this. "That's grand. I'm new too. You know, it's nice knowing that I'm not in this alone."

Sunshine smiles too. "Thanks. Me too. So, how have you been adjusting?"

"Mm, learning as I go. Though as soon as I start talkin' a sportsman shoves me in a locker. You're the first person I've talked to."

"I hear you. I mean, people haven't been exactly rude to me, but they act like they don't notice me because of my height."

"Ooh, that's rough." Rory winces at the thought of that.

"I know. I just want to make friends." She starts to have a sad face for a second, which gives Rory a second to think before deciding.

"Well then, today is your lucky day. Starting today I will be your friend."

"Aww, thanks man," Sunshine said appreciating the gesture. Before they can resume their conversation they see people including Finn and Kurt wearing black outfits with a pink New and a green York on it. Everyone wore pants except for Rachel (whom Rory knew as Finn's girlfriend) who wore a skirt. They then play multiple boomboxes and start singing and rapping.

Artie:
Yeah
Yeah, I'm out that Brooklyn
Now I'm down in Tribeca
Right next to DeNiro
But I'll be hood forever
I'm the new Sinatra
And since I made it here
I can make it anywhere

Finn:

Big lights will (with Mercedes: inspire you) (Inspire you)

Let's hear it for New York (Mercedes: New York)

Voice Over: Finn

I was excited about my Glee Club recruit poster design. I made it super masculine, just like these pamphlets I saw some army guys passing out at a daycare center. Then I heard something.

Mystery Kid:
We both lie silently still
In the dead of the night
Although we lie close together
We feel miles apart inside

Was it something I said or something I did
Did my words not come out right
though I tried not to hurt you
though I tried

{Finn goes to investigate until he finds the voice singing in the shower}

It was this new transfer kid. I saw him tappin' his foot when we busted out in the courtyard. Rachel said she saw Rory and some short girl mouthing the lyrics too. Man, one song and we get three potential members, and we only need one. We're good.

Mystery Kid:
They say every rose has its thorn
Just like every night has its dawn

I would've joined in with a kick-ass harmony, but the dude was naked.

He then leaves.

Mystery Kid:
Just like every cowboy sings a sad, sad song

Rachel was placing sign-up sheets with the words co-star with Rachel Berry on them in the bathroom. If you ask this writer, I'd say she's arrogant. She then notices one of the two who were watching her in the performance the other day coming into the restroom. Sunshine Corazon. She was looking at herself in the mirror while inspecting her earphones. Rachel then proceeds to talk to her. "Oh, hello." Sunshine turns to look at her with her earphones still on. "I couldn't help but notice you admiring me yesterday in the courtyard."

Sunshine just then takes off her earphones since she couldn't hear her well through them. "Um, what?"

"Oh, you don't speak English." Rachel mistakes it for lack of understanding of her language. "You like me sing. You like me sing very much."

Sunshine is half offended and half amused. "Um, I totally speak English."

"I even did a little research on you. You're a foreign exchange student named Sunshine Corazon because you're from the Philippines, where it's sunny every day."

She's starting to get weirded out but proceeds to talk to her. "Except for the monsoons."

"Listen, Sunshine. We need chorus members- people to stand behind me and stare at me with wet, moved eyes while I sing solos. So I encourage you to audition for Glee Club! Glee Club is fun." She resumes the raised voice. "Swaying in background can be fun."

Sunshine just nods still kind of amused. "Thank you."

"Okay," Rachel said as she walked away proud of herself. She walks up to another wall to put on another sheet but drops it. As she goes to pick it up, she hears Sunshine's singing.

Sunshine:
Hello, hello, baby, you called
I can't hear a thing
I have got no service
In the club, you say, say
Wha-wha-what did you say?
Are you breakin' up on me
Sorry I cannot hear you I'm kinda busy

Rachel:
K-Kinda busy,

{Sunshine's impressed by Rachel's voice}

Sunshine:
k-kinda busy

Rachel and Sunshine:
Sorry I cannot hear you I'm kinda busy

{Rachel then marches up to her to sing with her with fierceness and confidence on her face}

Rachel:
Just a second
It's my favorite song they're gonna play
And I cannot text you with a drink in my hand, eh
You should've made some plans with me
You knew that I was free
And now you won't stop calling me
I'm kinda busy

Sunshine (Rachel):
Stop callin', stop callin'
I don't wanna think anymore
(I left my head and my heart on the dancefloor)
Stop callin', stop callin'
I don't wanna talk anymore
(I left my head and my heart on the dancefloor)

Sunshine:
Eh-eh-eh-eh-eh-eh-eh-eh-eh-eh-eh (Rachel: Stop telephonin' me)
Eh-eh-eh-eh-eh-eh-eh-eh-eh-eh-eh (Rachel: I'm busy)

The song is interrupted by Sue Sylvester who looks at them and yells, "Shut up!" before leaving.

"Uh, that was fun. I'd love to join your club. When are auditions?" Sunshine asks, eager to join in.

"Let me get back to you on that one. Don't tell anyone about this, okay?" Rachel points to her before leaving the room.

"Okay." Sunshine agrees before putting her earphones back on and leaving for class.

Rory was at his locker putting in some of his books when he saw another kid with blonde hair and noticeably big lips. He wanted to see if he could make another friend, and he seemed to be chill, so... "Top of the mornin' to ya! I'm Rory, and I thought I'd come over for a wee chat. Fancy a bit of banter, do ya?"

The blonde guy turns to him and gives a grin. "My name's Sam. Sam. I am. And I don't like Green eggs and ham.

Rory pauses for a moment to think about that. It seems familiar. He then widens his eyes and points to Sam. "Dr. Seuss!"

Sam widens his eyes. "Yes! No way, no one ever gets that."

Rory chuckles. "Yeah well, my mum used to read it to me before bed every night. Now she's probably doing it with Seamus. He's my wee little brother."

"Oh, I've got one of those too. Sister too. They're twins."

"Grande. Did you see that performance yesterday?"

Sam nods. "Oh yeah. Yeah, it was catchy. One of the dudes there is the quarterback."

"Oh, Finn? I know him. He's my host brother."

Sam widens his eyes again at the shocking news. "You live with Finn Hudson?"

"Yeah, it's amazin'. He's been like my idol since I saw his big performance at regionals."

Sam narrows his eyes in confusion. "Didn't he lose that one?"

Rory just shrugs. Sam then looks behind his shoulder and sees Finn walking behind his wheelchair-bound friend, Artie Abrams.

"Hey, Rory, Sam," Finn said as he shook Sam's hand. "My name's Finn. This here is Artie."

Sam nods. "Yeah, I know who you are. You're the- the quarterback."

"Exactly. Which makes me very cool. And we'd like to talk to you two about Glee Club."

The two looked at each other before grinning at the offer.

"So, Rory, Sam, tell us about yourselves," Finn said, after taking a few minutes to gather his fellow Glee clubber dudes. There was the self-proclaimed "Asian dancer" Mike Chang, and a buzzcut styled Noah "Puck" Puckerman.

Sam claps his hands in preparation. "I, uh, guess I'll go first. My name's Sam Evans. I like comic books and sports. I'm dyslexic, so my grades aren't that good. But I'm working on it."

"Dude, your mouth is huge. How many tennis balls can you fit in there?" Puck said rather rudely.

"I don't know. I've never had any balls in my mouth. Have you?" Sam quipped, earning his respect.

Rory steps forward to take over. "Ok, I'm next. My name's Rory Flanagan. I guess if I had to pick a hobby, it would be singing, and Victoria's secret catalogs." Puck smirks at that claim. He nods.

"So can you sing with that big mouth Sam?" He said while Finn went to get a guitar for Sam.

"I've never really sung in front of anybody before."

"Dude, let me tell you- chicks dig singers.

Rory widens his eyes. "Seriously?"

"Totally," Puck said while grabbing an identical guitar as Sam's handed his.

Rory smirks at this news.

"Well, give it a shot. We'll back you up, I promise. What song you got in your back pocket?"

"Um, I know Billionaire? How about you Rory?"

Rory shrugs. "I'm down with Billionaire."

Sam then nods and starts strumming his guitar.

Sam:
I wanna be a billionaire so freaking bad
Buy all of the things I never had
I wanna be on the cover of Forbes magazine
Smilin' next to Oprah and the Queen
Oh, every time I close my eyes
I see my name in shining lights, yeah
A different city every night, oh
I, I swear, the world better prepare
For when I'm a billionaire

{While they sing the Mike guy starts dancing smoothly. Rory tries to copy but fails}

Artie(with Rory):
Yeah, I would have a show like (Oprah)
I would be the (host of)
Everyday (Christmas)
Give Artie a (wish list)

I'd probably pull an (Angelina and Brad Pitt
And adopt a bunch of babies that (ain't never had it)
Give away a few Mercedes like ("Here, lady, have this")
And last but not least (grant somebody their last wish)
It's been a couple months that I've been (single, so)
You can call me Artie Claus (minus the "Ho, ho")

Hehe, get it, I'd probably visit where (Katrina hit)
And darn sure do a lot more than (FEMA did)
Yeah, can't forget about (me, stupid)
Everywhere I go (I'mma have my own theme music)

Sam (Artie):
Oh, every time I close my eyes (Oh, what ya see, what ya see, bro?)
I see my name in shining lights (Uhu, uhu)
Oh yeah, yeah (And what else?)

Rory and Sam (Artie):
A different city every night, oh (Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah)
I, I swear

Sam(Artie):
the world better prepare (For what?)

For when I'm a billionaire (Rory with New Directions Boys: Ooh, ooh)
For when I'm a billionaire (Rory with New Directions Boys: Ooh, ooh)
For when I'm a billionaire (Rory with New Directions Boys: Ooh, ooh) (Oh)

I wanna be a billionaire so freaking bad

The room is silent, but it shows that they were impressed by the two boys' efforts.

"That- That was really cool," Sam said with excitement coming out of him.

"Nice. You think you guys can come back and do that in front of everybody?"

"Sure/definitely."

After the two practically audition, they walk out together to talk about what just happened.

"That was really cool, Rory. I can't believe we did that!"

"I know, right? I never imagined we'd sound that good together. It felt amazing!"

"Definitely. I mean, we rocked it! Do you think we should come back and perform in front of everybody?"

"Sam, chances like this aren't going to show up every day. I say we do it."

Sam nods in response. "Yeah, we can do this. Let's bring our A-game tomorrow and show everyone what we're made of!"

Rory nods back. "Definitely." Sam then holds his hand out for a fist bump, which he accepts with a grin. "See you then Sam!"

The next day Rory goes to find Sunshine to talk to her about what happened. He finds her at her locker and taps her shoulder. She looks back and smiles. "Hey, Rory."

"Hi. Look, I need to talk to you."

Sunshine raises her eyebrow. "About what?"

"Glee club. Yesterday, Finn Hudson invited me to join along with this guy Sam. I was wondering if you wanted to audition too?"

Sunshine smirks at this. "Way ahead of you big guy." Rory looks at himself and realizes she is talking about his height. "This girl Rachel, she told me about the auditions too. She said she would tell me when auditions are."

"Oh, I know where that is. It's today at the"

"Hi." Rachel interrupts him and walks past him to reach Sunshine. She then hands her a piece of paper. "So, here's the address for the audition tomorrow and helpful directions. It was going to be in the choir room, but there was a last-minute change. Look forward to seeing you there."

"Thanks," Sunshine said in response. After Rachel leaves, the pair look at the paper that she gave to them.

"Wow, they got a place out of campus. I guess they have a good budget."

Sunshine was skeptical. "Isn't it weird though? Why would they host an audition outside the school, for a school club? Something about this is fishy. And back home, usually when things are fishy, it usually ends with a shark jumping out." Rory raises his eyebrow at her. "There's a lot of water back there."

"Ah, sure look, it's a bit odd, but why'd she be telling us fibs, like that? Finn was saying to me back in the day that they needed at least one new head for their crew to be in with a shout at the competition. Without us, they might be up against it altogether."

Sunshine narrows her eyes for a second before replying. "Okay, I have no idea what you just said, but I'm guessing that you believe her?" Rory just stands there before nodding. I mean, how bad could it be?

Very bad. VERY VERY BAD.

They followed the instructions that Rachel gave them and found a crackhouse. They were led to a FREAKING CRACKHOUSE. They realized this when a guy tried to sell them weed, but then realized they were kids, and could rat him out so he threatened them with a knife. They barely escaped after running outside and barricading it after they left. "Oh my God! We never should have trusted her." Sunshine said.

"That was... that was Finn's girlfriend. Why would she do that?"

"Isn't it obvious? She's scared."

"Scared? Scared of what?"

"Scared of me. She knows I'm better than her at singing and she's trying to take me out of the game. You were collateral damage. Face it. We can't go back to that club."

Rory shakes his head. "Wait, but we can fix this. We just need to go to Finn and explain everything so-"

"So he can what?! Ignore our problems and go to his girlfriend? He's a biased party. We can't go. I'm sorry Rory, but these guys..." She shakes her head. "They're not our friends. Come on." She said leaving Rory to his thoughts for a second. Finn was his hero. But after this, can he even trust him? He then proceeds to follow his friend.

The audition time went on in the choir room, for two whole hours. It went from 3:00-5:00 pm. They had three potential recruits, Rory Flanagan, Sam Evans, and Sunshine Corazon. Unfortunately, no one showed up. Finn wasn't sure about Sunshine, but Rory and Sam worshipped him. He didn't understand why they didn't show up.

He knew he had to figure out what happened so he went to find Sam at the football practice. He asked him why he didn't come to the audition. Sam said he wanted to but he was scared he would be unpopular, and he was new to McKinley, so he needed to be popular. Finn understood and congratulated Sam for joining the team and asked what position he was in. Sam told him he was the new Quarterback, which completely shocked Finn. He had already been replaced.

Finn then went home to wait for Rory so he could explain why he didn't show up to auditions. He waited for about 20 minutes before Rory opened the door and walked in. Finn then got up to face him.

"Dude, where have you been? You said you were gonna audition. Sam bailed too. What happened?" He said and Rory turned his face away from him. He looked embarrassed for some reason which started to worry him. "Rory, are you okay?" He received no response from the Irish boy. "Rory, look at me." He said with a stern look. Rory then abided revealing his bruise. It looks really bad, which shocks Finn. "Oh my god, what happened to you?"

Rory looked at him with an angry look. "You want to know what happened? Your girlfriend, Rachel." This gives him a confused look from Finn. "Rachel gave me a set of directions that led me to a crackhouse."

"What, why? We needed new members. Why would she do that to you."

"It wasn't meant for me. It was for Sunshine. Rachel wanted Sunshine to miss auditions, so she couldn't become a member. She hurt her for the spotlight. I just happened to be there when she did."

Finn sighed. "Look man, I'm sorry. I know that Rachel screwed up. But the rest of the club would never do that to you." Finn paused for a second to think. "I mean, maybe Santana, she's a real jerk, but the rest of them aren't like that."

Rory shakes his head in tears. "How can I know that? How can I trust your word, when you're willing to date her? How do I know you're not just like her? How do I know that the one man I could admire isn't just another person eager to do anything necessary to get ahead?"

Finn put his hand on Rory's shoulder. "You don't. I just need you to trust me okay? And if you feel like you still can't trust us... then you can go." Rory looked at his idol in thought before nodding and pulling him in for a sobbing hug.

The next day, Sunshine told Mike and Tina, her fellow Asians, (the Asian community is very tight.) and they apologized and said they were gonna tell their coach about it. As she walks down the halls she is stopped by Rachel, who has a face of shame.

"I'm sorry for sending you to that crack house."

Sunshine shakes her head with a forced smile. "They stole my sheet music and used it for toilet paper. They gave my friend Rory a black eye!"

Before she could leave Rachel grabbed her shoulder and looked to her beggingly. "Look, I'm sorry for your friend. I'll buy you a new set. Just, um, come pick it up at the auditorium at 4:00 tomorrow. And bring your friend." Sunshine needed time to think this over. For all she knows this could be another trap.

"Let me get back to you on that one." She quotes Rachel before walking away.

After school, Sunshine finds Rory and asks for him to talk to her. They sit on the stands at the football field. "-And she just tells me to audition tomorrow. I mean, what am I supposed to do? The last time I trusted her, we almost died. I mean, for all I know, she could be trying to finish the job."

Rory furrows his eyebrows. "Won't killing you put them in the slammer?"

Sunshine raises her arms in frustration. "I don't know! Augh! Why does High School have to be so hard? I expected it to be classes, friends, and dating. But instead, I get sent to a crackhouse by a kid in show choir." She slumps into her seat. "What's wrong with us?" She pouts admittedly adorably.

"There's nothing amiss with us. We simply found ourselves in the wrong place at the wrong time. I don't think these people are malicious; they're much like us, outsiders seeking a place to belong. I believe we ought to offer them another chance."

Sunshine turns to him. "How do you know they won't just screw me over."

Rory thinks about a response to that but remembers what Finn said. He grabs Sunshine's shoulder and looks into her eyes. "You don't. I just need you to trust me okay?"

Sunshine looks at him feeling a bit of relief. Those words were really sincere and she felt like she could trust her friend. "Okay, but... can you go with me?"

Rory smiles at her. "It would be an honor." He said before they shared a hug.

Later she walks to the auditorium with Rory's arm wrapped around hers. She feels nervous and worried this is another trap. She notices that none of the people there match Sam's description that she got from Rory, but Mike and Tina are both there so this gives her a little more confidence. She looks at her Irish friend, and he smiles at her and gently hits her shoulder for luck before taking a seat to watch her perform. She takes a breath and walks to the microphone.

"Hi. I'm Sunshine Corazon and I'll be singing "Listen" from the movie Dreamgirls."

"Broadway show first," Rachel adds. But everyone shushes her immediately.

Sunshine:
Listen to the song here in my heart
A melody I start but can't complete

Listen to the sound from deep within
It's only beginning to find release

Oh the time has come for my dreams to be heard
They will not be pushed aside and turned
Into your own, all 'cause you won't listen

{She inspires woos from the group watching her, and Rory watches her with pride.}

Listen
I am alone at a crossroads
I'm not at home in my own home
And I've tried and tried
To say what's on my mind
You should have known

Oh!
Now that I'm done believing you
You don't know what I'm feeling
I'm more than what
You've made of me

But now I've gotta find my own
I don't know where I belong
But I'll be moving on
If you don't if you won't

{Everyone starts to cheer at her while she does amazing arm motions}

Listen to the song here in my heart
A melody I start, but I will complete
Oh! Now I am done believing you
You don't know not what I am feeling
I'm more than what you've made of me
I followed the voice you think you gave to me

She had an amazing voice, to go with an amazing song. She was fantastic, and she was gonna make it big in this club. Even without Rory with her, she was gonna be the best this club has ever had.

But now I got to find my own
My own.

"Wow, Um- Welcome to the Glee Club," Will said causing shouts from everyone in the seats. Sunshine feels a great amount of pride from this accomplishment. Will then turns to Rory. "So, Rory, you want to try something?"

This catches Rory by surprise. He didn't think of auditioning too. He was only there to support Sunshine. Of course, he wanted to, but he didn't have anything prepared. "Umm, that would be grand sir, but I didn't have anything prepared to sing."

Finn and Kurt stand up with sheet music. "We did. We wanted to make sure you had something, and I think you'll like this. You like Bublé right?" Finn said as he and Kurt jumped on stage and handed out the sheet music to the band. "Come on bro, get your butt up here and start singing." Rory hesitates but after hearing the cheers from the New Directions and Sunshine, he giggles while walking up to the stage, grabbing the final piece of sheet music from Finn, seeing the title, and immediately starts grinning.

"Thank you, Finn Hudson, and Kurt Hummel." He said as the two host brothers left the stage to sit with their friends. "My name is Rory Flanagan, and I'll be singing "Haven't Met You Yet" by Michael Bublé." He takes a deep breath before the music starts playing. He snaps his fingers to the beat before singing.

Rory:
Well, I'm not surprised
not everything lasts
I've broken my heart so many times I stopped keeping track
I talk myself in
I talk myself out
I get all worked up then I let myself down

I tried so very hard not to lose it
I came up with a million excuses
I thought I thought of every possibility

And I know someday that it'll all turn out
You'll make me work so we can work to work it out
And I promise you kid that I'll give so much more than I get
Yeah, I just haven't met you yet

They say all's fair
in love and war

But I won't need to fight it
We'll get it right and
we'll be united

And I know that we can be so amazing
And being in your life is gonna change me
And now I can see every single possibility
Hmm

{He looks at Sunshine, who claps to the beat with a smile.}

And someday, I know it'll all turn out
And I'll work to work it out
Promise you kid
I give more than I get, than I get, than I get than I get

Oh, you know it'll all turn out
And you'll make me work so we can work to work it out
Yeah and promise you, kid, to give so much more than I get, yeah
I just haven't met you yet

Mmm, oh, I just haven't met you yet
So good baby-ey-ey-ey-ey
I just haven't met you yet

The crowd applauds for the green-wearing Irish. It's not as big as Sunshine but it's still good. As soon as he gets off the stage, he gets a hug from Sunshine.

Will walks up to the both of them as they pull away. "I think the guys already showed what they think, but I just have to say, congratulations to you too. Welcome to the New Directions."

The next day, Rory and Sunshine were having lunch together, celebrating joining the club together. They did it. They made friends and got the opportunity to keep doing what they loved. It was a shame to hear about Sam though. Rory wasn't exactly sure if he was comfortable with being in Glee, however. He saw the look Rachel was giving Sunshine during her song, and he thought she was going to go after her again. Who knows, maybe he will be next. Can he take Finn's word for it?

Rory and Sunshine are on their way to class when they suddenly get intercepted by a very tall man with an all-black outfit, short hair, and an earpiece. What was he a secret agent? "Sunshine Corazon and Rory Flanagan I presume?"

Sunshine raises an eyebrow before answering skeptically. "Yeah, that's us. Who are you?"

"The name is Dustin Goolsby. I'm the new coach of Vocal Adrenaline. I heard about you two, and decided it was best to meet you."

"How did you find out about us?"

"Some cheerleading coach told me the New Directions just recruited two exceptional members and told me that it would be in my best interest to ask you two, to join Vocal Adrenaline." Dustin offered.

Rory and Sunshine's jaws both drop at the idea of joining the most popular show choir in America. They were the current national champions with ten consecutive wins. That's like, 30 competitions in a row without a single loss. Granted, 12 of those wins were due to the talent of former lead vocalist Jesse St James, but this is a big opportunity. But wait, that means they would have to transfer to Carmel, and Carmel is in Akron. Rory can't just leave, he just got here. And what about Finn, or Kurt, or Burt?

Rory shifts his eyes between Sheldon and Dustin. "Can we have a moment please, sir?" He asks and gets a nod from the coach. Rory then grabs Sunshine's shoulder and turns them away. "So, what do you think?"

"I think we should go for it. We get to be in Glee, without risks, and this guy doesn't seem to be nuts, so I doubt he'll let anyone put us in another crackhouse. And we'll be immediately popular." Sunshine said with a positive attitude.

Rory looked unsure, however. "I mean, you're right, but I just got here. I can't just leave. Besides, Carmel's like, an hour away, we can't just move."

Sunshine then has a so-so head gesture. "Okay, good point." She exits the huddle and turns to the coach. "Where would we live?"

Dustin is quick to reply. "I can offer you a condo and a green card, that will give you free access to living in America."

They stare at him in silence before returning to the huddle. "Okay, now we've got to go right?"

Rory is still hesitant. "But I have friends here. Finn, Kurt, I was gonna do a duet with Sam before. I don't trust Rachel, but we can still be a part of this school."

Sunshine takes a breath and decides to be real with him. "Look, I want to stay too, but I can't. Rachel sent me to a crackhouse with the specific intention of bringing me down. If I stay here, she'll make my life a living hell. Besides, I only made one friend so far, and you can go with me. Come on, please? We can have sleepovers like, every night."

Rory thinks for a while. He could leave his friends behind and be with his best friend in his very own condo where they can be safe. Or he could stay here with his friends, his idol, who listened to him and comforted him when he needed help and actually needed him. He took a moment to think before making the decision. "Sunshine will go, but I'll have to pass please."

Sunshine turned to him with a shocked look. "What?! What are you doing? This is our chance, let's go!"

Rory turned to look at her. "I want to go too, but I can't. These people need me. Sure I'm going to need some time to adjust to school before I join, but I have to be there for them."

"They can find someone else."

"Who?" He asked genuinely but received no response from his friend. "No one else was going to audition. They were lucky to get us. Sam didn't even show. I want to walk away but if I do, I could be ending their careers."

Sunshine furrows her eyebrows. "Show choir isn't a career." Rory chuckles at that which causes giggles from her as well. "Look, if you really want to go, I won't stop you. But Rachel is still there, so watch your back, okay?" She said hopefully. Rory nods at her and offers her a hug, which she accepts. After about 10 seconds or so, she pulls away. "I guess I'll see you around Rory." She said backing up.

Rory waves his hand at her. "Goodbye Sunshine." He said and she waved back before going with Mr. Goolsby to get her stuff. He watches her for a second before huffing and turning away. "Alright, time to get to work."

Thank you for reading. And I'm very sorry for the tardiness. There was some family stuff going on that I needed to be around for, meaning I couldn't be around my computer. But while I can't make any promises, I'll try to do better. BTW Sunshine will return.

Drift out.
