Chapter 1
As Fubuki, Bismarck, and Z-4 exit the harbor, the changes that Fubuki had gone through and recent events surrounding them are still fresh in their minds. Fubuki then turned to Bismarck, "you know Bismarck, if everything goes our way, then let's just say our ranks are gonna exponentially increase."
Bismarck, smiling at the prospect, nodded, "yeah it would be nice for that, but there's more to this isn't there?" She asked, meeting Fubuki's gaze.
"Well," Fubuki started. "Managing such a large force is gonna require more than one officer, heck even the one in charge of my old base has a deputy and a liaison," she pointed out. "While I don't know who would be the liaison, I do know who I'd like to be my deputy," she said, still looking intently at Bismarck.
"Oh, who do you have in mind?" Bismarck asked, though she had a slight hunch on who Fubuki would pick.
"Well you of course," Fubuki answered pointing to Bismarck smiling. "So, what do you say Bismarck, will accept my offer," she asked extending her hand?
Grasping Fubuki's hand, Bismarck responded, "es wäre mir eine große ehre, kommandant (it would be a great honor, kommandant)."
It didn't take long for them to meet back up with everyone else, who were mostly chatting among themselves with Dr. Eva seemingly sticking out like a sore thumb, and a sad one at that. "It doesn't matter how long I stay, I don't think I'll ever be able to understand what you girls are saying." She said dejectedly.
Z-3 turns to face the three girls just arriving, "Ach Schwester, wie war Fubuki's Modifikation (ah sister, how was Fubuki's modification)?"
"Es hat gut geklappt, danke der Nachfrage, auch wenn ich es immer noch nicht ganz verstehe (It went well thank you for asking, though I still don't fully understand it yet)." Fubuki answers before Z-4 can respond to her sister's question.
Z-3 at first couldn't believe what she just heard, after shaking her head, she asks, "Fubuki, did you just speak in our native language?"
"Ja," Fubuki responds. "For some reason during my upgrade, I am able to speak your language."
"Also, her new rank is kommandant now," Z-4 declared.
"Oh, so should we all address you as kommandant from now on?" Z-3 asked.
"Well, ja. It's only proper to show such respect to your superior officer," Z-4 answered.
"Z-4 please," Fubuki reprimanded Z-4. "This whole thing is already embarrassing enough, and what you're doing is only making it worse."
"Oh, sorry kommandant," Z-4 apologized. This only made Fubuki even more embarrassed since she had only recently gotten her new rank.
"Anyways," Fubuki tried to change the subject, turning to Dr. Eva. "You said that you have some news, something about lifting a curse?"
"Oh right," Dr. Eva began, lighting up again with pure glee. "After many months and even more sleepless nights, I finally figured out how to remove this undead curse." She exclaimed before turning to Bismarck, "to return the kindness and hospitality you've given me, I've found a way to bring your friends and family back to you all, good as new."
Bismarck seemed stunned at what Dr. Eva was saying, "you mean that we can bring them back, that I can finally see my sister again?" Bismarck asked to a nodding Dr. Eva. Her hopefully look was shared across everyone else, no doubt they all wanted to be reunited with their fellow Iron Fleet sisters and friends. "Just how," Bismarck seemed to ask pleadingly.
"Wait ," Fubuki jumped into the conversation. "Are you saying you can turn the abyssals back into fleetgirls?"
Dr. Eva seemed confused at Fubuki's question. "Abys-sals, are we referring to the same thing, as in the pale skinned almost dead looking girls that have various black organic like growths on their bodies?"
"Yeah, that's the abyssals," Fubuki confirmed, nodding her head.
"Well firstly, follow me please." Dr. Eva said, motioning for everyone to follow her.
A/N Heya everyone, as I mentioned before Global Defense Academy will be on hiatus and is now back, I'm excited to build and show this new world, hope you all enjoy it as much as I do imagining and writing about it. Also I changed the cover image for this story, (and before you trolls say anything, yes I know it looks like a historical european flag with a Hindu symbol but it not the same thing nor is the Iron fleet some whitewashed stand-in for those people).
