This this is a Re-write and Re-Telling of the Sonic Forces video game in a darker and dramatic way. Putting the story exactly where it needed to be. This is a Tale of the Resistance and their turmoil of a ruined world after the events of the attack in Metropolis City when their only hero gets taken away.
A MAJOR thanks to the Beta-Reader here on that helped me put this into words and to fix it as much as possible till I felt confident with it. Thanks to...

WARNING/DISCLAIMER! This is written with TEENS to ADULTS IN MIND. Bad Language is UNCENSORED.
In Context: Tails in this story is 16 yrs old. With that in mind. Sonic and everyone else are in their mid-twenties close to thirties. Reason for that is due to the tone of the story is Suspenseful Drama, Violence and Language. But don't worry they don't swear. Worst thing to come out of them is Damn. But... the OC's? Get ready to see that F-word quite a bit.
The Story is Drama first, Suspense and Action. In that order.
Another thing is that there aren't any Wisps elemental weapons of power. The weaponry is typical weapons used in military. Knives, Pistols, Assault Rifles, Sniper Rifles, and Shotguns.
Same goes for Super Powers. Sonic and Friends are still intact. Sonic super-fast, Tails can fly... etc, etc, but the OC's don't. They are just average nobodies trying to make a difference.

Chapter 7: PSA… Don't Touch Purple Particles
Part 15: Returning Back to the Start
Throughout the night, Miles was going through every hard drive trying to find any answers on Infinite, but so far, he finds nothing that will be of any help. Chris, on the other hand, is on the sofa with multiple ice packs on his body, asleep, letting out random groans and moans of pain.
'Again with the generators? Why does it keep talking about the generators?' Miles looks out of the window, staring at one of the massive power generators that's miles away. 'It keeps referencing them but nothing else on these files. It's our main source of power for the whole area… Hmm…?' "Wait… I knew it. My hunch was right all along." He looks over at Chris as an ice pack slides off his face and plops on the floor. 'He does have to come in contact with it. Those floating purple particles have the answer. Unfortunately we can't find any around here.' He sighs. 'Unless… we fly back to where we first met. I bet it's still there. Should I wake him up after what he's been through tonight? …No. Ever since he's met me, he's only gotten hurt.
Getting up from his seat, he walks over to the window staring directly at the power generator… but from it and to the right is the lies the Resistance Base. 'He's alive…but it's my fault.' He looks over to Chris. 'Just have to know what those voices are saying to him. Once I know, I can set things right.'
Guess I'll go take a nap too.' He steps away from the window and heads to his room turning off the lights. "Goodnight Chris," Miles whispers.
In the morning, outside by the Tornado, Miles had already explained to Chris what needed to be done. He annoyingly asks, "Are you even listening?"
"Yeah, yeah. Ugh! …I heard every word," Chris answers back slumped on a chair sore. "So we're heading back to Nue Heaven again?" he asks, looking over to the gun rack.
"Yeah, that place. Hopefully the particle sphere is still there," Miles answers back, getting the Tornado ready.
"Got it." Chris painfully stands up holding onto his side and staggers to the gun rack. "Just let me grab this…" He grabs a rifle. "And this one too and… yup, you too. Ok, I'm ready. Those robots are going to be the ones running away this time." He gives a vengeful giggle.
Concerned, Miles just looks at him awkwardly. "How long have you been with the Resistance?"
He looks to the Resistance Base. "I… actually wasn't with them per say. I just showed up and got tossed into a search-and-rescue mission that didn't involve rescuing at all."
"Really? Then what were you looking for anyways?"
"Not sure. The group I was with never even talked to me. We just got dropped off. They found some things and once we were about to leave, Infinite attacked us and we crashed."
"Who got you involved in it?"
"It was this uhh… Informant… Officer…" Chris comes to a realization, remembering who exited out of the storage building. A tall, lumbering over-weight figure, exiting out with his iguana tail following right behind. He mutters to himself, "It was him."
"Wha… it was who?" Miles asks again, stopping what he's doing.
"The asshole that shot Amy. Now I really know what he looks like," Chris says with a vengeful look, gripping the rifle.
They leave and head to the town where they first met. Once getting there, Chris destroys every single robot in sight. As gunfire echoes throughout the town, Chris laughs like a maniac running around chasing robots. "YEAH! RUN BITCH! RUN!" he shouts, aiming down the scope at a robot as it runs away, only to hit it and take it out. "NOT FAST ENOUGH! Didn't think that I would come BACK HUH?"
Miles examines the small purple particle sphere, glad that it's still here. "Are you ready?" Miles asks, tapping his foot.
"One…sec…" He fires off another shot, taking out another robot running away. "Ready."
Miles, impressed by how far the robot was, he asks, "You're really good and you weren't with the Resistance?"
He looks over to the forest that lies right next to the town then back down to the rifle in his hands. "I… was with a group… who just so happens to be really good at shooting stuff. A friend of mine taught me how to shoot. When it was time for me to leave, that's when the whole world decided to flip upside down." He grips the rifle even tighter. "Guess it was just fate telling me that I wasn't done shooting yet."
Hearing Chris's weary tone, he asks, "What happened to your friend?"
Chris's eyes go back to the forest answering, "He stayed behind." He puts the rifle away and then walks next to Miles, refusing to make eye contact to the particles. "So are you sure about this?" he asks concerned.
"Hopefully things will be okay; all you have to do is touch it," Miles says as he examines it while looking at a computer.
Chris quickly reminds him, "After the panic attack you made me go through with the shoes?"
"Did you blow up?" Miles asks jokingly.
Chris gives him an angry stare. "That wasn't funny and you know it."
The remark makes Miles crack a smile as he informs, "The readings show that you should be safe."
"Should? I'm really not a fan of fifty-fifty answers." Chris clenches his fist and holds it out.
Miles looks at Chris' fist and does nothing.
Chris sighs, "Alright, here… goes." He looks at his hand and slowly reaches out to the particles. "Umm… head starting to hurt but I think I can… I can… OH SHIT!" His eyes widen as he realizes what's about to happen. He quickly tries to pull away but gets pulled into it instead. "WOAHHHHhhhh!" he yells out and in a flash of light he disappears along with the particles.
"What?" Miles quickly gets up looking everywhere. "Chris...? CHRIS!" he yells out for him. Trying to figure out what just happened he keeps yelling out for Chris but nothing. Chris was gone. Luckily enough he put a tracker on him in case they ever got separated. He looks at the tracker and notices that Chris is still alive. Relieved that he didn't completely vanish, he figures out where he is. "Wow!... It sent him hundreds of miles… that way. East. East towards… Oh no… It dropped him at-"
Chris blinks into existence and falls face first to the ground. "Ow! …Geez." He rolls onto his back, slowly gets up holding his head and says, "Damn, Ugh! Miles you're not going to believe it but the voice-" He feels something prick his side. He looks at it and sees a wire attached to it. "Huh?" With an electrical shock Chris falls over being tased.
"YOU'RE A DUMBASS TO COME BACK HERE!" a Resistance Guard angrily yells.
"Where the heck did he pop up from?" A second guard asks looking up at the sky.
"I don't give a fuck how or where." He pulls the trigger electrifying him again. "This ASSHOLE here is in for it big time for what he did to Ms. Rose." The first guard keeps pulling the trigger.
"Yeah, can't wait for the Commander to kick his ass," said the other guard as he gets ready to pick him up.
They proceed to haul him away into the Resistance Base.
Part 16: Not the Best "Welcome Back" Greeting.
Outside in the Resistance Training fields, it was another day of training on yet another hot day. Barnett wipes his sweat away from his forehead. "Time for a quick break," he says as he sits down to relax. He looks up and sees all four of his recruits still standing in formation. "At ease," he orders, allowing them to head to the nearest shade to relax.
Barnett gets up and heads to POS and to one of the Twins. "POS, I need you to head over to the Mess Hall and retrieve a couple of things for me. Just tell the cook my name and she'll know what to prepare." He looks at one of the twins and says, "Eddie, go with him if it turns out to be too much."
"Yes sir," they both answer.
Barnett slowly heads to his barracks exhausted.
POS gets ready to leave but Eddie just stands there looking at Barnett walking away. Once ready, he looks at Eddie who is still standing there. "What's wrong?"
Snapping out of it, Eddie looks at POS and then back to Barnett as he enters his barrack. "He… said my name. He didn't say "you" or anything else. He said my name."
POS gives off a slight chuckle, but quickly stops not to offend him. "You make it sound like it's a big deal."
"It… kind of is. People won't even bother calling us by our names…" He looks over to Edward, continuing, "…or even try to tell us apart. So it's always either "you" or Morrison. It's what I'm always being called by."
They both look at Barnett's barrack again as POS says, "Let's get going, "You." …We don't want to make 'em wait."
Eddie playfully shoves POS towards the Mess Hall. "Ha, ha, funny," he says in response.
Entering the Mess Hall, they both stand in line. Getting close to the end of the line, a Resistance Squad eating breakfast, one of the member's points as he can be heard, "That's him. Trish keeps changing his name, and I keep putting it back."
Four of the soldiers rise up and approach as one them asks, "It's you isn't it?"
Eddie looks at him. "Wha? What about-"
"Not you…" He interrupts and points to POS. "Him. What's your name?"
POS stares back. "Me? It's Phil-"
"Nope, wrong," one of them quickly interrupts as the rest then join to laugh.
POS begins to clench his fist.
"What's the actual name that you go by?" the soldier mocks.
POS refuses to answer and just stares right back.
The soldier shoves POS causing him to stumble back into Eddie, "HEY! I'M TALKING TO-"
Another soldier from their table orders, "HEY! We don't have time for this. We got to eat and go."
Most of them leave as one of the soldiers looks at POS and ridicules, "Whatever. Go back to your 'has been 'poor excuse of a General'." The Soldier then walks away to join his squad.
Tense and angry, POS just stood there glaring at the soldier walking away.
Eddie, taking his eyes off of the soldier, his gaze turns to POS and notices the back of his neck hairs rise up. He puts his hand on his shoulder to calm him down and says, "Dude… Don't. All you have to do is say the word… and I'll take care of it."
POS doesn't calm down and whispers back, trying to contain his anger. "Do it… Just fucking do it."
Thirty minutes later, Barnett exits out of the Barracks wondering where his lunch is, only to see Trish at the exit waiting for him, upset and disappointed. He looks at her with a smile. "What seems to… be…" He looks away and to his recruits knowing why.
She hands him a single piece of paper.
Barnett grabs it still looking at them angry, crumples it up and tosses it away. "What happened?"
She points to Eddie. "He was accused of adding ex-lax to an entire high ranking squad of soldiers making them sick and causing them to delay a mission that they were going to be a part of."
She points to Edward. "He received full blame and was attacked by them thinking he was Eddie."
She points to Lance. "He intervened trying to help Edward, but wound up being too late to stop them. One thing for sure is that he sent most of them to the Resistance Urgent Care."
She then points to POS. "He wasn't involved in any of it but somehow my gut tells me he was. I just can't put my finger on what it is but I'm sure of it that he was."
She turns back to Barnett. "So now not only was the squad unfit to do their mission, but now they're hurt in the process and can't do it." She points at him now. "Now it's up to you to decide what their punishment is." She walks away heading back to the H.Q. Station.
Barnett paces back and forth looking at them. He looks at Lance having a couple of scratches on him and blood stains on his white shirt from what he did to the Squad of Soldier's.
He looks at Edward who has a black eye, his shirt is torn and dirty, and has a look of murder on his face.
POS stands right between Edward and Eddie making sure that they're out of reach from each other.
Eddie constantly looks over to Edward, concerned about his well-being, seeing the look in Edward's eyes.
Barnett approaches Lance and looks up at him with a stern look and asks, "How many of them were there? Two, or three of them?"
Lance, not looking down at him, shakes his head. He raises one hand with five fingers and his other with two.
Trying not to be impressed by it, Barnett looks at his hands. "Seven? How many to the hospital?"
Lance turns his gaze down to him, not putting down any fingers.
Barnett nods and walks away from them already knowing who the culprit is. He looks at the other three, and then stares at POS and calls him to step towards him with his finger. POS approaches him.
Barnett just stares at him until he finally confesses. "Yes… It was my fault. I got Eddie to do what he did. After that, it just escalated to Edward and Lance. I didn't mean for that to happen. It was all my fault, sir."
Barnett nods. "Alright, a punishment will come… maybe not now but it will come… Got it?"
POS nods. "Yes sir."
Barnett looks at him with some judgment until he says, "Was it worth it?"
POS answers, "They disrespected you, sir. So yes… it was worth it."
Hearing a sad demoralizing tone come out of POS, he knew it wasn't true. "Really?" He gets closer to him and whispers, "Are you sure? Was it really about me… or was it about you?"
POS staring straight ahead he slightly looks down as his eyes begin to tear up. He whispers back, "Can I… go back in line?"
Barnett nods. "Get back in line."
POS walks back as he quickly wipes a tear from his eye, remembering about his past and all the insults and bullying he gets from his cursed initials. No matter what or how much he tries to get away, it will always come back to haunt him.
He stands back in line between Eddie and Edward again. He looks at Eddie and then to Edward's black eye and whispers as an apology. "At least I can tell you both apart now."
Edward slightly shakes his head in anger, plotting his revenge.
Before Barnett gets a chance to say anything, he hears a commotion coming from the main gate making everyone look towards that direction.
Everyone turn to the main gate as they watch two guards drag Chris's incapacitated body across the base.
Barnett watches getting a good look at Chris, he then asks, "That's what you call scum. Are any of you scum?"
"No sir," they all say as Lance just shakes his head.
Meanwhile, Zeke is also around with Trish as they also watch, he realizes who it is, "I remember him. He was with Group Six at the prison raid. The whole group went missing."
Trish was relieved to see Chris again, but concerned with how they're treating him, being dragged to the H.Q front door… but before entering the building, the soldiers release Chris causing him to collapses onto the ground floor.
One of the soldiers un-holsters his taser and tases him once again. "GiieEEAAhhh!"
Worried, she adds, "And now somehow he's here? Why would they think he's the one that shot her? …Why would he come back if he did? That doesn't make sense." She heads to the H.Q. Building.
In the H.Q. office, they barge through the doors and push Chris to the center of the room.
"Pfft, heh! They actually got him," someone says in the room.
"It doesn't take an army to get him," another one responds.
"Stand there and don't fucking move or I'll taze you again," the Guard threatens.
"The Commander is on his way," someone informs.
Chris stands there trying to think of anything to get him out of this mess but nothing comes up. No matter what he does, he's going to get stopped. No shoes, no weapons… nothing was on him. There's no way out of this. He looks up and sees Trish standing there looking right back at him. He stares back but she quickly looks away as something grabs her attention. The main double doors fly open and slam against the wall. Chris gets startled and sees Knuckles standing in the doorway glaring right at him with his fist clenched.
"You have a lot of nerve to come back here. Give me one good damn reason not to smash your head in," he says walking towards him cracking his knuckles.
"I have a lot of important info about Infinite in my head. Smashing in my head wouldn't be a very good idea," Chris says back, trying not to show fear.
Knuckles looks at him and grins, getting close to Chris. He looks back to Silver seeing him not readying himself to restrain Knuckles, but instead eager for what he's about to do.
Silver looks back giving a nod in approval.
With a grin, Knuckle calmly says, "Oh really?' Then I guess I'll have to-" He punches Chris in the gut hard enough to raise him up a foot off the floor, bringing him to his knees.
"Hack… *Cough!*" Chris wheezes in pain after feeling his insides get completely rattled.
"Be lucky I held back a little. Going to make you into my personal practice dummy. Can't risk breaking you… Right? Going to lock you up 'til you feel like talking and you WILL TALK!" Knuckles threatens.
Chris looks up to Knuckles but then a responder turns her seat to observe what's going on. Chris turned his gaze towards her, and past her was a display monitor with Sonic on it.
His face gets grabbed by Knuckles. "ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME?"
Knuckles shouts at him but Chris' eyes are still locked at the monitor as a huge figure shows up on it. "No way? It's him," he mutters to himself, seeing the Informant Officer standing next to Sonic.
Knuckles lets him go and looks at the monitor. He smiles, "You're lucky he's not here. I bet he would love to kick-"
"I- I… nee… d… need to talk to him," Chris requests, interrupting Knuckles.
Knuckles shouts at him, "WHAT MAKES YOU THINK HE WANTS TO HEAR WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY?"
"Because… he's… in danger," Chris wheezes his words.
Knuckles looks at the monitor again and orders, "You'd better not be lying. Get him over there."
They drag him over to the microphone. The Responder asks, "This is H.Q. to Sonic, over?"
On the monitor Sonic stops and puts his finger on his communicator, "I'm here, what is it?"
"Someone has something to say to you," Responder answers back.
"Alright, who is it?" Sonic asks, still standing there.
Barely grabbing the microphone in pain, not looking at the monitor anymore, he speaks into it. "It's me Chris. Re… remember what I said? It's him, the Informant Officer… He did it."
On the monitor Sonic looks at the officer that's with him. Sonic cuts off the incoming call and as he moves to the officer, standing there while talking to him. Seconds go by before the officer points a gun and fires as Sonic begins his attack.
"What?" "He just shot at him." "Why are they fighting?" people say in the H.Q. office.
"What the heck is going on? WHY ARE THEY FIGHTING?" Knuckles shouts at Chris.
Chris doesn't say anything he hunches over in pain.
"Get him out of here and put him in one of the holding rooms," Knuckles orders as he looks at the monitor.
"He's shooting at him?" someone else says in the room, watching the fight on the monitor as Chris was then dragged out of the H.Q. Building and locked away in one of the prison holding cells.
Hours later in one of the holding rooms, Chris just sits there and thinks to himself, trying to figure out what the voice meant. 'Cut the connection. Connection? What connection… and by doing it with what? With a pair of scissors? It just kept saying that over and over.' While trying to figure it out… the cell door opens. Chris raises his head and sees Trish standing there. He smiles while he says, "Didn't think I'll ever see-"
"Quiet," she demands, interrupts him. "Get up… and let's go," she orders.
Chris loses his smile. 'Even she hates me.' He looks away ashamed but also worried about her safety. 'I can't be around her… what if that Informant Officer has spies? I need her to go away.' He stands up with his hands cuffed together in front of him and without his shoes on, he follows her.
She leads him to the Hospital Building and inside, after passing by a couple of medical examining rooms, Trish stops. "What really happened?" she asks, turning around to face him.
Barely raising his head to even look at her face or make eye contact, he pleads, "Just take me where I need to go, please."
"I trust you. I just want to know what happened," she requests.
Still not looking at her he whispers, "I can't tell you. It's a story that just keeps getting too fucking long to tell. I don't want to get you into trouble or …hurt. Last time I told my story that's exactly what happened." He looks up at her. "Someone got hurt. So please just take me to where I need to be and just stay away from me." He looks away again. "I don't want to see you get hurt too."
She stood there for a bit, looking at him. She then opened the door saying, "Go in. It's okay."
Chris walks into the room with his head tilted down looking at the floor and hears, "Hi again." Remembering the female's voice he looks up seeing her again. "We need to finish what we were talking about," Amy says sitting up in her bed.
