Iida walked around with Uraraka and Midoriya for a while and all he could think about was that weird store. Something about it just rubbed the wrong way. Even that older man, even though he didn't look out of place or anything like that. He just didn't like being in a place like that for very long. He eyed the bag that Midoriya was holding and wondered about the book and necklace.
They entered a bunch of stores and got a few other things. Iida finally got around to finding his supplies for his engines. He able to get his mind off of those magical items for a while. He soon found some school items as well that he might need soon. Midoriya and Uraraka soon got some snacks and a couple of shirts and hoodies as well. With Spring coming up, they thought that this was the best time to get some new clothes.
Uraraka got a cute pink shirt, a hoodie, and a spring dress that she thought would look really cute with her new necklace. Midoriya couldn't help but blush but how cute she looked while trying it on. Iida ended up getting a couple of shirts as well along with a hoodie for the cold nights. Midoriya did the same and grabbed some shorts and pants as well.
They soon noticed what time it was and headed for a restaurant. Uraraka noticed where they were and guided them over to a restaurant that her and Bakugo went to during their hiking trail.
"You've gotta try their sushi! It's really good," Uraraka said to them, "Me and Bakugo went here during our hiking trail."
"Really? You two had lunch together?" Iida asked her, "That's weird to think of him actually enjoying lunch with you. He didn't throw a table or anything, right?"
"No. He was actually very calm and easy to talk to," Uraraka explained to them, "It was a lot of fun. Come on, let's go!"
They all headed inside and felt their stomachs growling. They soon sat down a table, feeling pretty tired from walking around. Midoriya set down his bags and looked around for something. Iida looked at what he was looking for and took out a box. He looked like he was blushing a little as reached out to Uraraka.
"H-Here Ochaco. This is yours," Midoriya said to her, "I never had the chance to give it to you."
Uraraka's eyes widened as they sparkled at him giving her this brand new necklace. She reached out for it and got excited to put it on. She opened it to see a rose quartz heart shaped necklace. The chain was gold along with a beautiful gold border around the heart shaped quartz. Her eyes sparkled, finally seeing it right in front of her.
"This is so beautiful," Uraraka said to him, "I still can't believe that you bought this for me."
Midoriya felt a blemish form around his face and scratched the back of his head.
"W-Well you wanted something special, right? Besides, you looked like you really wanted it," Midoriya said to her with a nervous smile.
Uraraka smiled at him and took it out of the box. She was about to put it on, but her cheeks blemished when she looked at Midoriya. She hesitated to ask him something, but did it anyway.
"Izuku... Ca-Can you... help me put it on?" Uraraka asked him.
Midoriya's eyes widened in shock, and he could barely look at Iida. He hesitated to get up, but soon found himself behind Uraraka. She unlatched it and held it up to Midoriya. His hands were shaking as he tried to latch it into place behind her neck. She pushed her hair up so he could see it better. He could barely get it on because he was nervous about looking at her neck and shoulders in this angle. Soon enough, he did it and Uraraka felt so good have it on her.
Uraraka smiled and caressed it as it sparkled from the light. She couldn't stop looking at it.
"Thank you so much Izuku! This is so beautiful," Uraraka complimented, "I still can't believe you got this for me."
Iida looked at it closer and thought that it looked a little different than before. Something about it looked like it had changed a different shade of pink or sparkled in a way that seemed alive. He adjusted his glasses, and it seemed to be back to normal. He shook it off as if it was nothing. After all, it was just a necklace.
"Well, that store seemed to have some pretty amazing items in it," Midoriya said to her, "It felt like it belonged in a storybook, didn't it?"
"Yeah! That's what I was thinking. I even thought that guy might've been a wizard or something. Wouldn't that be cool?" Uraraka pointed out with sparkles in her eyes.
Iida gave them a look, which caught their attention.
"Come on. You two can't be serious?" Iida asked them, "That older man was clearly just trying to get a sale out of you. His store wasn't even anything other than some cheap crystal and jewelry store. It was all dusty and old as well."
Midoriya and Uraraka shared a look, and Iida knew that they actually believed in that kind of stuff.
"Iida. There's superheroes, quirks and even mutants around. Of course there might actually be magic around," Midoriya said to him, "Why wouldn't there be?"
"Besides, it's kind of cool! Spells, charms and crystals. It's all kind of mysterious and so fun, especially for a storybook," Uraraka said to him.
"But that's all it is. A storybook," Iida said back as he adjusted his glasses.
Midoriya and Uraraka gave him a look, and Iida tried to shake it off. For while, it was quiet and a little awkward as they looked through their menu. They soon ordered their lunch and got it back to them pretty quickly. They all got sushi for all of them to share. Iida ate some of them, feeling pretty satisfied with this place for lunch. He kept looking at Uraraka's necklace however. He could swear that it looked like it was moving, like the sparkles or the color was reacting to something. He tried to ignore it and ate some more sushi.
Midoriya and Uraraka ate some sushi, feeling pretty full pretty quickly. It was all so good, and Uraraka even talked about the hiking trail that Bakugo and her took. They were finally enjoying some time together and talked about some things that they've done together. Iida actually felt glad that they invited him out. He could've been staying in the dormitory all day doing some studying and homework, but something about this felt like something that he needed. He noticed Midoriya and Uraraka smiling at each other, and he couldn't help but smile back at their company.
Once they finally finished their lunch, they all paid for a little bit of their lunch together and left pretty full. They all left the restaurant and wondered where to go next. They walked around a while, looking at the stores and not going inside. There were some here and there, but nothing that stood out. Uraraka looked around to find the mall, but Iida noticed something off about her. As they walked around, she looked like she was holding her stomach subtly.
"Where should we go next?" Uraraka asked them.
"Uraraka, are you okay?" Iida asked her, "You look like you don't feel good."
Uraraka held her stomach, and Midoriya came over to check on her. She looked like she was going to throw up.
"I-I'm fine..." Uraraka said to them, "I just have a slight stomachache... That's all."
Then Iida noticed her face turn a slightly green color, and Midoriya directed her towards the nearest restroom. Iida followed them and waited for her by the restroom. Midoriya would go in there, but he was too nervous to with a few girls around. Uraraka ended up throwing in the restroom for a good while. Iida noticed that Midoriya was worried about her as they waited for her.
"She'll be okay Midoriya," Iida said to him, "I'm sure that it was just the sushi. Some of it was probably no good."
"Yeah. You're probably right," Midoriya said to him.
Midoriya and Iida stood outside of the restroom, waiting for Uraraka to come out. Iida noticed how nervous Midoriya was as he tapped his foot on the floor. Iida kept glancing over at him as he stood there waiting for his girlfriend. Then he eyed his bag, wondering about that spell and charms book. Iida tried to ignore it, but he kept wondering if it was okay for Midoriya to have it. That older man didn't seem like a villain or anything, he just wondered if it was something that he should worry about.
Then Uraraka came walking out of the restroom, looking a little sick. She didn't look as green, but still looked like something was bothering her stomach.
"Ochaco, are you okay?" Midoriya asked her.
"Y-Yeah... Just a little nauseous. It must've been the sushi," Uraraka said to them, "Weird. That didn't happen the last time I went here."
"They must've not made it very well this time around. You should put up a review to say that you had some bad sushi," Iida said to her, "That's not okay for a restaurant to serve bad sushi."
"Yeah maybe. Let's just walk it off for a bit," Uraraka said to them as she walked away.
"Are you sure Ochaco? You still don't look so good," Midoriya said back with a concerned expression.
Uraraka tried to walk it off, but already felt a little sick to her stomach. She had to sit down for a moment, and Midoriya rubbed her back as they sat down for a little while. Iida stood there, hoping that she would feel better soon. Midoriya tried to comfort her, but the sushi was still making her not feel so good. Uraraka grabbed her water bottle from her backpack and drank some from it. After a while, she felt slightly better but still nausacus.
"Maybe we should head back," Iida said to her, "Clearly this sushi didn't sit right with you. I wouldn't want you to feel sick while walking around."
"Iida might be right," Midoriya said back, "You shouldn't be walking around so much if you don't feel good."
"B-But, our day out," Uraraka said back, "I don't want to ruin this. I can handle it. It's just a slight stomachache. It's not that bad."
Uraraka tried to stand up and walk, but she already felt that nausea kicking in. Midoriya walked up to her to help her out and rubbed her back.
"Ochaco. It's okay. We already had an amazing trip. We all got what we wanted, we might as well head back to the dormitory," Midoriya explained to her.
Iida agreed, and soon Uraraka nodded to them. They soon headed back to the dormitory as Midoriya kept an eye on Uraraka. Iida helped carry some of the bags as Midoriya took care of Uraraka. They were able to get to the subway pretty easily, but Uraraka was hesitant to enter. Once they got inside however, Uraraka felt a little better already. Iida let Midoriya comfort her as he handled the bags. He noticed that Uraraka's necklace looked a little bit less sparkly as they sat in the subway.
Something about her necklace still felt weird to him as he stared at it longer. It might've looked a little less sparkly, but it still gave him a weird and off putting feeling. Midoriya stayed by her side as he rubbed her back, trying to soothe her. He kept her close as Uraraka soon felt a little better.
Once they got to their destination, Uraraka could walk on her own. Iida watched Midoriya and Uraraka walk together as they made their way closer to U.A. The wind picked up as they got closer to it. It felt really good to walk through the spring breeze, and Uraraka soon felt a little better. She felt a little bad that they had to go back to the dormitory so soon.
"I'm sorry for that. Of course I feel better once we get back to U.A.," Uraraka said to them.
"Don't worry about it, Uraraka," Iida said back, "We got what we wanted. I'd say this was a great day out, besides the bad sushi."
"Iida's right Ochaco. You have nothing to apologize for," Midoriya said to her as she held her hand, "We'll do something like this some other time. I had fun with both of you."
Uraraka smiled at the both of them, making them feel so good. They all walked through the cherry blossom trees, feeling that cool spring breeze. Iida's eyes widened in shock, noticing something off with her necklace. The wind picked up and cherry blossom petals flew all around them. He could swear the necklace was glowing for a moment. He looked at Midoriya, and he seemed to notice it as well. His eyes couldn't stop staring at it as they both stood there watching her enjoying the spring breeze.
"Umm... Och-Ochaco...?" Midoriya said to her.
"Yeah?" Uraraka said with a smile.
For a moment, Iida could swear that her eyes were a subtle pink color. But they were back to her usual caramel brown eyes as soon as he noticed it.
"Y-Your necklace... It's glowing!" Midoriya pointed out.
Uraraka's eyes widened and looked down at it. Once she looked at it however, it soon stopped glowing. It was sparkling, but it wasn't moving or swirling in an unnatural way. It looked like the sunlight was reflecting a beautiful rainbow coming off of it at one point. Iida didn't know if they could see it as well, but he couldn't stop looking at it. Something about it looked so unnatural and yet so stunning.
"It was glowing...? I didn't see anything," Uraraka said to them, "Maybe it was just the sunlight."
Iida and Midoriya shared a look, but they both knew what they saw. Something about that necklace might've been more than just a necklace. At least, that's what Midoriya thought. Iida on the other hand was still unsure about the whole thing. He was pretty convinced that it was just the sunlight reflecting off of it.
Nothing more, nothing less.
