It had been an entire week since Texas Pete added the Planet Spot to his Universe Empire and his invasion of the entire universe was finally complete. All the spotted people have been nothing but very miserable. They were very sad that they were forced to knock down their lovely, comfy spotted houses, their tall spotted buildings where they went to work for a living, dig up their beautiful spotted gardens and everything special about their lovely happy planet to reshape it into a giant grand temple for Texas Pete. Even though the other peoples from the other planets in the empire were forced to do the very same to their own planets and the spotted people weren't the only ones doing it, that still didn't make them feel any better about what they had to do to their planet. And they were very sad that they were also forced to mine all their precious cosmic dust just for one purpose and one purpose only – so that their new emperor could make himself and his empire even more powerful than they already was.
"Stop being so lazy, you spotted freaks!" Julius Scissors yelled. He and his best Hairmongers were the guards of the mine. "Get back to work and work harder! If I see one of you not working hard, I will have my Hairmongers beat you up!"
That threat from Julius Scissors was enough to force the spotted people to work hard at mining cosmic dust. They were all very tired from their hard work and they weren't allowed to have any breaks and they always had to arrive at the mines very early in the morning and could only go to sleep in the tents – which was where the spotted people lived as all their homes were knocked down – very late at night, but they had to keep on working. If they didn't, the only other option was facing punishments from Julius Scissors and his Hairmongers.
"If only there was some way of getting off the Planet Spot," Spotty said to his family, "we could find SuperTed and see what happened to him and why he hasn't come to save us all from Texas Pete."
"Hmm, I have an idea to get off this planet," Blotch said. Then she whispered to her family her plan.
"That's very risky, Blotch," Mrs. Spot said.
"Yeah, we could face terrible consequences if we did that," Mr. Spot said.
"Well, what's worse?" Blotch asked. "My plan or living all our lives in Texas Pete's empire?"
"Well, I can't think of a better idea," Spotty said. "And nothing could be worse than living in Texas Pete's empire. So, let's do Blotch's plan."
"Well, okay," Mr. and Mrs. Spot said.
"Hey, who told you four idiots you could take a break?" one of the Hairmongers snapped, as he approached them. "This is your very last chance! If I ever see you not working again, you will be punished. Now, get back to work!"
So Spotty and his family got back to work. They all gave each other a wink.
After another hour of more mining for cosmic dust, Blotch gave the signal to Spotty and their parents, meaning it was time to do Blotch's plan. They went to her and Blotch showed them a tunnel that she made herself. She told Julius Scissors and his Hairmongers when they asked her about the tunnel that it was to find extra cosmic dust, but that was a lie and luckily they bought it. She really made it so she and her family could escape the mines. Spotty, Mr. and Mrs. Spot and Blotch got onto their knees and started to crawl through her tunnel.
"So, Blotch," Spotty said, "where will your tunnel take us to?"
"Well, if I've done this correctly and all goes well," Blotch said, "we should reach the secured hanger where all the spotted rockets and spaceships are grounded and locked down by order from Tex so no one from their planet can escape."
After ten minutes of crawling through the tunnel that Blotch dug very well and checking that none of the villains were following them, they stopped when they came to a dead end. Then Blotch made a hole with her spade upwards. Then she went up for a peek.
"We made it," she reported. "We made it to the rockets and spaceships."
Her family cheered… and very loudly.
"Shh!" Blotch snapped. "The bad guys might hear you."
They went silent again and they went up through the hole. They were glad when they saw they were in the hanger where all the spotted rockets and spaceships were. Then they filled in the hole they came in so no one would follow them through the tunnel. Then they checked for any guards, but they couldn't find any. Then the Spotty family went to look for Spotty's rocket.
It didn't take them very long for them to find it.
"Quick!" Spotty cried. "Let's get going before we get spotted."
"By someone like us?"
"Yes, by someone like –"
The Spotty family gasped as they turned to face Bulk, Skeleton, the Striped soldiers and Dr. Frost and Pengy approaching them with evil smiles.
"Maybe Julius Scissors and his Hairmongers may not have noticed the tunnel you created in the mines to escape them," Skeleton said, "but we did."
"I didn't notice, Skeleton," Bulk said.
"Of course you didn't, Bulk," Skeleton said. "That's because you are a completely brainless idiot."
"Spotty, get into the spotted rocket and go and fly to find SuperTed," Mrs. Spot said.
"But what about you guys?" Spotty asked.
"We'll hold them off as long as we can, son," Mr. Spot said. "Now, just get going."
Spotty felt bad that he had to leave his family behind, but he never forgot that the sooner he found SuperTed, the sooner Tex's evil empire would come to an end and peace, freedom and justice could finally be restored in the universe. "Thanks, you guys."
So, while his family did all they could to stop the villains approaching the spotted rocket, Spotty quickly ran to it, entered it and turned it on. He was very worried that it wouldn't work in case Tex had his friends cause damage to it so it couldn't take off, but he was very relieved that it was still working and it could blast off and fly through the roof, making a hole through it. He took one last look through the hole he made in the hanger's roof and sadly watched his family get captured and arrested before he reached space. He hoped they would be all right and he flew deeper into space to find SuperTed.
