Guilliman felt it—the shifting tides during the battle between this omnissiah and the titan. He had felt the strange energy emanating from that beast. How could he not? It was basically broadcasting itself planet-wide after all, yet it was not the corrupted energy of the warp... No, it was something completely foreign to the primarch. Whatever this thing was, it seemed to be content simply challenging Albertson.
Yet he could also say the same about this omnissiah as well, seeing as he was standing to his feet healed after being on death's door not even a few minutes ago. "Curiouser and curiouser." He mumbled out, watching over the footage. He was actually invested in this bout, and wanted to see who finally came out on top...
"How would Lion react to this? He would probably be somewhat impressed by his tenacity. Well then, show me and the rest your strength, Louise."
"I had thought the tantalizing kiss of self indulgence was nought but a fantasy, forever out of reach. To forever be lost in the well of souls." Gaulter vocalized towards the pair, a gleeful tone to it as he gripped his blade. Bright and colorful energy began to coalesce around his blade as he lifted it up high towards heaven. Slowly the old rusted metal, the bits and pieces of worn technology began to fall from his frame, dissipating into dust in the wind, leaving behind polished steel. "A troubling thought that plagued me, that I would never find the one to truly serve... yet you finally show that promise. The light, the beautiful light."
The energy from the blade shot up into the sky, shattering the barrier completely, piercing through the smog and dust, leaving a bright blue and sunny atmosphere behind it. The air becomes clean after thousands of years of pollution. Sunlight casting a warm glow down upon them. The energy slowly began to subside, yet the knight's blade and his armor were bathed in it, Like that of flames, His eyes now shone with a bright blue glow to them. Lifting his blade, Gaulter pointed it towards Louis and Vigdis. "I finally see your strength, yet you have nought but one final test. Come then, Inventor and Cube, our fight has only just begun!"
Both Louis and Vigdis narrowed their eyes, The inventor lifted his bat getting into a stance of his own once more, Vigdis beside him arming more of the launchers, a palpable excitement about her as well. "I accept that, Gaultier…come then" Louise stated.
Gaulter did so shifting right in front of Louis in a burst of energy, an overhead strike aimed right towards his shoulder wanting to bisect the man down the middle, Louis quickly sidestepped it leaping down from the sand dune watching as energy from the blade shot off cleaving a building in half. Yet he felt no fear, Instead all he felt was pure Excitement and Adrenaline. Although he was not aware of it, right now he was under a really good high.
The battle quickly continued raging on, Gaulter following after louis his blade rapidly jabbing towards the man, Louis moved and swayed his body around them, Occasionally trading blows back towards the knight, To which Gaulter parried and blocked as well. The sound of metal hitting against metal ringing out through the industrial complex.
Waves of Ice and snow enveloped the area as Vigdis fired off missile after missile towards the knight, making sure not to hit Louis with them. Yet, seeing as the knight continued to move and almost gracefully maneuver around the explosions, She decided a more direct approach was needed, and thankfully Louis gave her that opportunity to join the fray once more.
Louis quickly leaped away from a flurry of slashes, watching as the energy sailed past him cleaving into the rockface of a mountain, He dropped the now dented and almost broken bat to the ground, Vigdis was finally beside him, glowing once more ready to create a new invention for him. "Time to take a page out of MH's book"
Gaultier watched as a flash of light covered Louis, He then quickly lifted his blade feeling something heavy impact it, His feet sinking deep into the sand.
Louis was above him gripped in his hands were two smaller hammer's, although the contraption on the back of them had Gaulter questioning them even more…yet it was soon answered as Louis pressed the trigger on them, an explosive force propelling the hammers forward past the knights guard, both of them cutting through him almost like a….a ax?.
They cleaved into the knight's chest, showing a heart beating with the same blue energy, red blood leaking from the wound Louise inflicted onto him. The energy from the knight increased in its intensity, gaultier going on the attack once more, this time going for a straight thrust towards Louis's chest, The man seeing this quickly turned his body to the side watching as it tore open his vest.
Louis quickly lifted his hammer going for another strike, pressing the firing mechanism to increase the strength of it. Yet before he could, The knight quickly stopped the momentum of his blade, pommel striking the man in the chest. The strength of which sent him sliding back through the ground. Louis quickly stabbed a hammer into the sand stopping his momentum, only to look up and see the knight upon him once more.
Vigdis quickly created a shield blocking the strike from Gaultier, the blade bouncing back due to the force used. The inventor gave a mental thank you towards Vigdis and quickly pressed the trigger on his hammers shooting forward in a burst of speed, Gaultier quickly regained his grip and as Louise was upon him, He lashed out punching the inventor upwards, Louis's brain rattling due to the force of it.
Yet the voice spoke, It calmed him, made him think rationally. While in the air, He felt the familiar shift of something as Gaultier appeared, going for a slash towards his chest. The man quickly blocked the blow with both of his hammers, He then kicked off of the knights chest gaining a bit of distance. Firing off one of the hammers towards the knight going for an underhanded blow.
It struck true cracking into the metal of the knights causing him to lurch to the side, Louis then lashed out with his other hammer striking the knight in the ribcage. The heart in Gaultier's chest began to quicken in pace, His eyes glowing brighter in their intensity.
The excitement was palpable from the knight as he used the momentum from Louis's attack to distance himself. "Yes, YES!, This is what I meant. MY HEART IT SOARS!" A boisterous laugh echoed from Gaulter, as he caught the next strike from Louis throwing him towards the ground in a burst of strength.
The inventor felt his breath leave him for a moment as his back hit the earth. He rose to his feet, Vigdis floating over to him, They both looked up to see that Gualtier was still floating, However now he held his blade up high into the air. The energy coalesced around it, Before a beam of it erupted from the blade itself. "OUR SOULS CONNECTED!"
Louis's smile dropped, His expression turning a bit more serious as he saw the beam of light intensify, It stretching into the heaven's, A bright, blinding blue light. The knight gripped his blade tighter. Then he spoke, Over the sound of the energy, Over the sound of the battle….. Everything silenced as the words echoed, Almost like a prayer.
"hu adon, tan le'orech lehadrich, tan lu liflor et nishamti, tan lu lehidhad bakrav haza, ana latfilat hakidushin shli."
Mars - temple of all knowledge
Elvira and Raskain could feel the light of their Omnissiah from the screen; even from so far away, it was as strong as ever. Their faith had wavered seeing him lying there on the sand, his blood leaving his body, the weakness of flesh... Yet they watched him stand to his feet, his eyes glowing with resoluteness. His light flowing over them once more, their faith renewed...stronger than before. Their souls were wrapped in the bright Golden glow. The warmth.
Raskain's servo skull robot lifted his hand in praise. "DO YOU SEE NOW, HOW FOOLISH YOUR DOUBTS ARE... THE OMNISSIAH HAS GRACED US WITH HIS LIGHT!, DESPITE HIS BLOOD STAINING THE SAND, THE WEAKNESS OF FLESH IS NO MORE, NOW THERE IS ONLY STRENGTH IN SPIRIT." He shouted out to the mechanicum, Elvira beside him weeping in joy.
They watched as he clashed with this unruly spirit once more, with renewed vigor and purpose. The mechanicus spoke praises as they watched their god do battle. It was then that they could see it—the energy of that unruly spirit reaching to the heavens—a light that could be seen from earth. Yet it was not like their omnissiah's light. A pale imitation.
"OMNISSIAH."
"TEACH THIS MACHINE SPIRIT A LESSON."
Various shouts from the mechanicum were heard, and Elvira could only look on with renewed hope, seeing Louis on the screen starring the machine spirit down with a purposeful gaze.
"Win my lord."
"Kid, Now that your high has worn off, you need to listen to my advice." The voice from before echoed in Louis's mind, The man remained focused on the knight, and as Gaultier spoke those words, The voice spoke up once more. This time with a stern tone.
"Soft physical barrier, NOW"
Louis did not have to be told twice, Immediately Vigdis flew over and opened herself, the inner mechanisms of her chassis spinning with webs of pure light. Louis held his hand out in front of him. A barrier was slowly weaving in front of him and Vigdis.
Gaultier lifted his blade higher, the energy now fully at coalescence, His arms trembled, a deep sense of contentment filling his fragmented soul as he gazed down at the inventor and his companion. The test was so close to being completed, he could feel it in his soul, yet the inventor needed one last push. The knight's eyes dimmed as if he were closing them, memories and thoughts rang through his mind.
"Faith is the main thing that should be in your heart, my son. Faith in someone you fully trust, When you have that faith... then the test will be complete, A knight can never truly serve someone he does not have perfect faith in, aside from ᛁᛁᛌᚽᚢᛆ."
"I see it now... mother, I have found that faith," Gualtier thought. He opened his eyes, gazing upon them once more. It was then that he brought the beam of light down upon Louis and Vigdis, a shout of pure determination screaming from his soul.
"PART THROUGH THE DARKNESS OF THIS WRETCHED UNIVERSE, ADONIA!"
Everyone could see it. From the farthest hive city, To even the Emperor's own palace, A beam of blue light, Large and Grand in scope. And when the Knight brought his blade down, So too did the beam follow cleaving a path of destruction for Miles upon Miles.
Guilliman was…well rather shocked at this development, It was then that he received a message from Kitten of all individuals. He accepted the communication. "Yes, Hello Kitten. I assume you are well"
"Yes, things are going rather nicely, Spruced up the throne room a small amount, and even got a new decoration. Would you like to hear what it is?"
Guilliman could feel a slight amount of dread in that question.
"IT IS THE GIANT FUCK OFF BEAM OF LIGHT, THE SIZE OF AN EXTERMINATUS CURRENTLY GOING THROUGH THE EMPEROR'S OWN THRONE ROOM!"
The primarch lifted the communicator away from his ear a small amount. Thankfully he had superior healing, Or else he might have lost it in his left ear.
"It was a miscalculation and an oversi-"
"AN OVERSIGHT, TELL THAT TO THE BLOODY HOLE IN THE THRONE ROOM-"
Before the custodian could finish, Guilliman quickly ended the call. His stress now somewhat increased, The paperwork…oh father, The paperwork.
Vigdis finished the barrier just in time, and Louis quickly held up his hand, holding it in place as the beam crashed into it, splitting in twain. Louis and Vigdis Huddled together as the man gritted his teeth on purpose, his right arm slowly began to crack and bleed, yet as the injuries appeared, they healed.
"Keep it up, Kid!" The voice echoed in his mind, and Louis did so using his left arm to hold his right steady. It felt as if the beam would never end, It just kept continuing on more and more. "Who knew he could pull the Fate levels of BULLSHIT!" Louis shouted out in annoyance.
"I KNOW!" Vigdis shouted back to him, also keeping focus on maintaining the barrier. Slowly cracks began to appear on the barrier, slowly increasing in size. The twin beams flowing past them burned and scorched everything behind them for miles upon miles. A path of destruction not seen since the age of technology.
Slowly the barrier began to break apart more and more, chunks of crystal like glass separating and shattering into motes of light. Louis could feel his right arm burning, yet he continued on, That is when he noticed the warp glove on his left hand.
"On my count...3" the voice spoke in his mind.
The barrier broke more and more; now only a smaller portion remained, Louis felt a bead of sweat slowly going down the side of his face.
"Two"
His right hand clenched into a claw like motion as he felt the light inside his soul intensify, renewing him with energy, the barrier crumbled even further. A stray beam of energy flowed past his shoulder, burning him and the cloth, yet the wound healed.
"One"
The barrier finally lost its strength, shattering into particles of light and crystal. The knight watched as Louis and the cube were consumed by the light, a solemn ache in his heart... yet.
"UP HERE, JACKASS!"
Yet That solemn heart finally tasted defeat, Both Louis and Vigdis were above the knight, the hammer in Louis's right hand descending down upon the knight cleaving into his chest, The man and cube screaming out in triumph as they all crashed towards the ground, a large amount of snow and dust shooting into the air from the landing.
Guilliman and the mechanicus watched through the Servo recorder and waited for the dust to clear, and once it did... It showed Louis standing victoriously with Vigdis floating beside him, the man having sent the hammer directly through the chest of the knight, his heart pierced by it, almost shattered to pieces.
The knight's eyes turned from the bright blue back to their original dull orange as he looked up at the inventor. Louis Wary backed away, holding the hammer close to him. Gualtier slowly stood to his feet, his now broken blade being gripped in his left hand. Lifting it up high, Louis thought he was going to go on the attack once more.
Shink
Yet, instead, Gaulter stabbed the broken blade into the ground, kneeling to Louis. Reaching up, his hands gripped the helmet slowly pulling it off of his head. Showing a man of abrahamic descent, rugged yet handsome. The cracked core in his chest was pulsing with the blue light from earlier. Slowly recovering "My liege, I swear my fealty to you, from this day onward... I Gaultier shall follow you, to the lowest depths of hell, to the highest peaks of heaven, for you have passed my test."
Louis and Vigdis stared down at the knight with a expression of utter confusion...yet Vigdis is the one that broke the silence. "Why the fuck does he look like Clive rosefield
