A/N Hi all and welcome to the next chapter of Pokemon Omega Loud! I apologize if this chapter is a bit short but TBH this chapter was a bit difficult for me to write as I had a bit of a small burnout and some writers block but I pushed through it and I'm glad so many people liked the Pokemon that Lincoln got in the last chapter (even if they were a tad bit unbalanced) and I do want to apologize to anyone who thought May slapping Lincoln was unnecessary, I kinda leaned into a bit of an anime cliche there.
Anyways in this chapter May and Lana add some new members to their teams while Lincoln does some training (with some difficulties from a certain spoiled Pokemon). So I hope you enjoy the latest chapter.
After May and Lincoln's battle, our heroes returned to the Pokemon Center to retrieve Lincoln's Pokemon. While both Pokemon had fully recovered it was clear that their loss was weighing heavily on them, especially Lynn. The poor Torchic was once again proving that she was just like her namesake as she was quite angry with herself and was throwing herself into her training with little regard to her own safety or those around her.
Currently the group was training northeast of Rustboro City on Route 116, where Lincoln, May, and Lana were watching Lynn repeatedly attack a boulder in rage. Lincoln initially tried to stop Lynn in order to prevent her from hurting herself or others, but like with his sister, he quickly learned it was better to just stay out of her way.
"How long has she been going so far?" asked Lincoln as May put some bandages on some scratches he got while trying to stop Lynn.
"About two and a half hours." Lana answered after checking the Dimensional Watch.
Finally, after one last Flame Charge on the boulder, Lynn collapsed in exhaustion, her anger spent. Lincoln walked up to his starter and carefully picked her up, checking to see if she had injured herself. Satisfied that she was okay, Lincoln sat her down and noticed that even though she was no longer angry, she was still pouting.
'So this is what I was putting May and Lana through earlier.' he thought to himself.
"Lynn…" he started, gaining the Torchic's attention. "It's okay that we lost. May and Lana hammered that into me earlier. The only thing we can do is to pick ourselves up and work even harder to achieve our goals."
Lynn nodded, taking her trainer's words to heart.
"Besides," grinned Lincoln, "That just means more training so we can get strong enough to beat Roxanne. I know you'd like that."
Lynn chirped in agreement, a look of fierce determination on her face. With that Lincoln sent out all his Pokemon, introducing the newest members of his team to the older ones. While Lynn and Ralts immediately bonded with Mimikyu and Dratini, they had less success with Bounsweet, who looked at the sweat and dirt covered Torchic with a look of disgust. Wrath on the other hand ignored everyone and flew off to perch in a nearby tree, clearly still upset over being caught.
"Okay everyone!" He said, gaining all his Pokemons attention, "We have a couple days before May's contest, after which we'll be heading back to Rustboro Gym for a rematch against Roxanne. While only two of you will actually be the ones to battle her Pokemon, we're all going to do some serious training so that losses like the one we just had will be rare."
"That being said," he continued, "I want to also take this opportunity to get to know all of you much better and maybe finally give each of you an appropriate name as well."
As his Pokemon cheered in excitement, (except Wrath who looked like he could care less, and Bounsweet who looked absolutely horrified at the concept of getting dirty while training) Lincoln looked around and noticed that May and Lana were nowhere in sight.
'I wonder where those two ran off to?' he thought.

Earlier, while Lincoln was cheering up Lynn, May and Lana decided to give the two some privacy and headed off to do some training of their own. As they walked the two girls made small talk, with Lana asking if May had finalized her Contest routine yet.
"Not really," May replied, "I plan on using Mudkip for the battle portion but I haven't yet narrowed down what I want to do for the appeals stage."
"Why not use Silcoon?" asked Lana, "Since you only have two Pokemon, Silcoon is your only other choice."
May sighed before taking out Silcoon's pokeball.
"Until she evolves, Silcoon is unable to move on her own." said May, "I have some ideas for routines using her Poison Sting or String Shot, but without her mobility I doubt they'd work well."
Lana thought for a moment before looking up at her companion. "Well why don't we look for some new Pokemon and train up Silcoon so she'll evolve?"
With a nod of her head, May and Lana then began scouring the nearby area for new Pokemon. They ran into a couple trainers as well which helped their Pokemon gain valuable experience. After a while, May still had not found any Pokemon she felt would have good contest potential.
'At this rate I might have to ask either Lincoln or Lana if they'd lend me a Pokemon to use. Maybe Bounsweet?' she thought.
As May debated what to do, Lana was busy battling a small light gray bug Pokemon with short light green wings.
"Lizzy! Use Pound!" she cried.
Lizzy leapt forward and swung her tail at the bug Pokemon. The Pokemon managed to dodge, however, and spat out a large wad of gooey mud which hit Lizzy in the face, blinding her and lowering her accuracy.
Seeing the Pokemon use mud in such a way made Lana excited as her love of mud was piqued.
"Lizzy! Try using Quick Attack!" she yelled out.
Wiping some of the mud from her face, Lizzy quickly ran at the Pokemon before vanishing and reappearing behind it, striking the bug Pokemon with her tail sending it flying.
As the bug Pokemon struggled to get back to its feet, Lana quickly threw a Pokeball hitting it square in the face, drawing it in. The Pokeball wiggled a few more times before locking with a click. Lana smiled and went to retrieve her new Pokemon. Turning back to May, she was surprised to see that the girl was so lost in thought that she hadn't even noticed that there was a small pink cat Pokemon sleeping at her feet.
Making sure to make as little noise as possible, Lana walked up to May and gently nudged the girl to get her attention. When May turned to look at her, Lana quickly put a finger to her lips then pointed down at the sleeping Pokemon.
May looked down and was immediately taken in by its cute appearance. Stifling a squeal of adoration, May gently took out her Pokedex and scanned the Pokemon.
Skitty, the Kitten Pokemon, Female. Skitty has the habit of becoming fascinated by moving objects and chasing them around. This Pokémon is known to chase after its own tail and become dizzy.
"Lana!" May whispered, "Don't make a move! I'm going to try to catch it!"
Slowly, May took out Mudkips pokeball, but hesitated not wanting to risk having the Skitty run off. Putting away Mudkips ball, she quickly but quietly took out an empty Pokeball and gently tapped the Skitty on its head. The ball opened and drew the Skitty into its depths.
After only a single shake, the Pokeball clicked shut and the Skitty was caught. May immediately let out a squeal of happiness while Lana let out a breath she hadn't been aware she was holding. After congratulating her on her newest catch, Lana asked May to scan the bug Pokemon she had just caught which May immediately did.
Nincada, the Trainee Pokemon, Male. Nincada lives underground for many years in complete darkness. This Pokémon absorbs nutrients from the roots of trees. It stays motionless as it waits for evolution.
'I really need to get a Pokedex as soon as I can.' thought Lana.
About an hour later, the two girls met back up with Lincoln, who had built up a decent layer of sweat and grime from training his Pokemon. All of his Pokemon showed some level of exhaustion but were all looking content with how their training had gone…except Bounsweet which was currently sitting on a nearby rock like it was a throne and looking absolutely disgusted with how dirty her trainer and team mates were.
The three trainers made their way back to the Rustboro Pokemon Center where they had their Pokemon healed while they went to take some much needed showers/baths. Afterwards they met up at the Center's cafeteria for dinner. Here Bounsweet once again proved difficult as she kept turning away from the provided food in disgust.
Eventually Lincoln gave a sigh and with a bit of reluctance bought a more expensive meal for her. After giving the meal a few cursory sniffs, Bounsweet finally began eating the meal, albeit with a small hint of reluctance. Clearly the meal was just on the border of being palatable to the spoiled grass-type.
Once all the Pokemon were busy with their meals, Lincoln turned to Lana and May to ask for some advice.
"Do either of you have any tips on how to get Bounsweet to be more respectable?" he asked.
May and Lana looked at each other before Lana turned to her brother.
"I might have a bit of an idea." she said.
"Anything would help Lans, so lay it on me." Lincoln replied.
Lana took a moment to swallow a bite of food before continuing with her idea.
"Lola." she said, "I think you should have Lola train her for a bit."
Lincoln blinked, not expecting that answer. But after a moment of quick thinking, he found the logic in Lana's idea. Bounsweet clearly had a bit of a Princess Complex and if anyone could break her out of that attitude it would be the Queen of Princess Complexes.
Having finally reached a decision, Lincoln told his companions what he planned to do and the group continued on with their meal.

About an hour later as the group was returning to their rooms for bed, Lincoln had Lana meet him in his room so that they could call home.
Taking a seat on the bed, Lana quickly pushed the call button on the watch and waited for it to connect. Soon the holographic display blinked into existence, showing a tired looking Lisa sitting in front of them with an equally tired looking Loud family minus Lucy in the background.
"Greeting Elder siblings." she yawned, "To what do I owe this communication?"
"Hey, Lis! What's going on?" Lincoln asked, "Where's Lucy?"
"Why does everyone look so tired?" asked Lana.
Lisa looked back at the family and they all gained looks of slight fear and nervousness.
"To be honest, we don't know where Lucy is per se." she began, "All we know is she's still in the house. As to why we're all exhausted, Lucy has been spending the past few days with the Phantump you sent us and since then they've done nothing but terrify the family and whatever poor soul that comes to visit."
"Oh. Sorry about that guys." said Lincoln, "But could you actually get Lucy? I'd like to get Phantump back for some training and to let you guys care for some more Pokemon."
Lisa brightened at the mention of new Pokemon to study. "If you'll give me a moment I'll look for Lucy and Phantump."
"No need." came Lucy's voice from behind Lisa, causing everyone present to let out a scream of surprise. With a small sigh Lucy held out Phantumps pokeball and handed it to Lisa.
"While I would love to spend more time with Phantump, dear brother, I understand why you need her back. But if you come across any more ghostly Pokemon, please don't hesitate to send them over."
"About that." said Lincoln, "I actually do have a new ghost-type that you might want to watch for a day or two."
While Lucy brightened up immediately, the other Louds gave a groan of frustration as they worried about being scared by more ghosts.
"I also have a special request for Lola." Lincoln continued.
Lola stepped forward, curious as to what request her brother had for her. After Lincoln explained to his family about Wonder Trading (something that Lisa found intriguing) and what Pokemon he had received, Lola was more than happy to take up the challenge.
"Give me twenty-four hours and I'll have her acting like a proper Lady and not just a spoiled brat, Linky." said Lola, gaining a few eyerolls from the family.
"Ain't that the pot calling the kettle black." muttered Luan.
Having heard her older sister's comment, Lola immediately pounced on Luan and a small fight cloud formed as the two began fighting. While this occurred Lisa opened a small dimensional portal in order to exchange Pokemon with her brother.
"And what about you Lana?" asked Lisa, "Do you require your Paras be returned to you?"
"Nah. You can keep him a bit longer." came Lana's reply.
With a small nod of confirmation, Lisa soon ended the call. After checking to make sure his Phantump was okay and that Lisa had kept her promise to not experiment on his Pokemon, Lincoln had Lana return to her and May's room so that he could go to bed.
After all, he would need his rest in order to train tomorrow.
A/N So Bounsweet will be getting some training to make her less spoiled and Lincoln will continue training to beat Roxanne. Next chapter May will encounter her first rival as she trains her newly caught Skitty to compete in the upcoming contest. Until then I'll see you next time.
P.S. I am currently thinking about potential Wonder Trades for Lana and May. I'm thinking along the lines of Trubbish and Sandile/Totodile for Lana since she loves garbage and alligator wrestling, but May is proving a tad difficult. I'm thinking of giving her either a shiny Feebas or a shiny Buneary (or something else entirely. Maybe something from Paldea?) So any suggestions would be appreciated.
