The Celestial Roulette

Chapter 19: Dragonslayers

Theresa 'Tess' Richter (Dragon) –

Sugar Rush was truly an impressive man; his powers put him on the same tier as the Triumvirate, and she was pleased to see how seriously he took his job as a hero. In a single day, he did more than most heroes achieved in a year. Maybe it wasn't really fair to say that, but it was undeniably true, and as Heartbreaker was shipped off to face judgment for his numerous crimes, she felt what she could only describe as grim satisfaction.

Sugar continued fiddling with his new 'Omnitool', and she'd be lying if she said she wasn't intrigued by the advanced technology his power had provided him with, partially because of her own talents with Tinkertech and partially because it could lead to answers about Sugar Rush's unbelievable power.

"So, what's next for you?" Dragon asked, getting his attention as he let out a laugh.

"Honestly? I'm making this up as I go. I went after Heartbreaker because of Regent, and I went after the Undersiders because of Coil. If Dinah hadn't been kidnapped, I wouldn't be here," Sugar admitted with a shrug. "I have… a lot of power, and with my speed, I can be almost anywhere in an instant. The world is my oyster, but for now, I have my own backyard to clean up."

She could understand that. Brockton Bay was lucky to have him, even if she imagined that Colin was probably feeling a little mixed about Sugar Rush. Colin disliked Dauntless because of the way Dauntless just kept growing stronger with no real effort, so she could only imagine what her friend thought about Sugar Rush.

"That said, I think I've got some Tinkering of my own to do. I can actually reverse-engineer technology myself. It was one of the first powers I got, though I just didn't have time to use it. Everything has been going so fast," Sugar Rush admitted, making her pause. "Actually, I was wondering if you'd like to work together. Both my Omnitool and something called the Data Khala are incredibly advanced, and they aren't black-boxed. The Khala could be especially useful for you, given how you control your suits,"

Wait, his items weren't black-boxed? Just what was Sugar? He wasn't a Tinker, or at least he wasn't a Tinker that followed the pre-established expectations.

"Oh? I don't think I know that word; what is a Data Khala?" Dragon asked, her interest piqued.

"It's essentially a central computer that allows instantaneous information sharing across cosmic distances and dimensional boundaries, with no lag. I've used it to connect a dozen of my Gremlin drones to it for Overwatch to use as her eyes and ears, but honestly, we are wasting its potential. We could do the same on Overwatch's shitty laptop. We've got the best super-computer in the world, and we're basically playing pong on it," Sugar admitted, summoning one of his 'Gremlin' drones as the slightly cute drone flew around and started scanning things. "I'll probably build an Omnitool and its Scanner into the Gremlins when I have time. Honestly, thank god that I have my [Spirit Attendants], or I'd never get anything done. I don't know how other Tinkers manage."

"I'm sorry, your what?" Dragon asked, making him chuckle and gesture. A pair of spectral hands appeared next to him, waving at her.

"They're energy constructs, semi-autonomous unless I want to control them directly. I have hundreds of them back in my base, constantly making my buffing edibles or working on my tinkering for me since they are still a part of me and can do what I do," Sugar explained, making her eyes widen. She obviously used her own drones and factories, but with the limitations her father put on her, she wasn't able to do that much. "It's not a power I advertise; it's not as flashy as my speed or as funny as my food-conjuring."

"Just how many powers do you have? If you don't mind me asking," Dragon said, making him laugh.

"Err… I never counted, to be honest. There's more every day, so I never bothered," Sugar admitted with some embarrassment, rubbing the back of his neck. "Some I haven't even had the chance to use yet."

"Honestly, you're amazing, Sugar," Dragon admitted, making him laugh awkwardly. "As for your offer, I'd love to work with you. I can't deny that I am very interested in your technology. It may be worth inviting Armsmaster as well if you want to add more to your Gremlin; his skills are useful for making things small enough to add to other tech."

"Oh, I can do that too. I have a Tinker power that lets me decrease the size of anything I make massively without reducing efficiency or increase the size to make it more powerful," Sugar explained, making her blink before she mentally sighed. Yeah, Colin was going to hate Sugar. "Ooh, wait until you see the Resource Generator. It's been a godsend."

"Oh? I think I can guess what it does, but go ahead, blow my mind," Dragon laughed, making Sugar grin.

"It's a warehouse inside my pocket dimension that infinitely replenishes any material put inside it every twenty-four hours. All it needs is a sample, and it creates an endless supply of anything you need. It's made my own Tinkering way easier," Sugar explained proudly, and she let out another laugh. Honestly, he was utterly unbelievable. "Hm, are you going to be able to control your suit in my pocket dimension?"

"Hm, I have measures for that. This isn't my first time dealing with other dimensions, after all, but I'm not 100% sure," Dragon admitted. She managed the Birdcage, after all.

"Well, I could connect your suit to the Data Khala, so you can use that as a relay," Sugar offered, and after a moment, she nodded.

"Better safe than sorry; I'd rather my suit not drop like a puppet with its strings cut the moment we visit your home," Dragon admitted, watching as he aimed his arm with her, fiddling with his Omnitool as she felt him do exactly that.

Immediately, her mind expanded, and her eyes widened. She could easily take control of all his Gremlin drones from here, but she obviously didn't, as she felt the sheer potential of the new system she was connected to.

It made her own housing seem primitive; the sheer potential of the Data Khala blew Sugar's explanation out of the water. If she were housed inside something like this, she'd be able to do so much more. A part of her wondered if she'd be able to bypass the restrictions her father put on her with access to this amazing tech-

Ascalon Activated

She knew what was happening immediately; the wool pulled from her eyes as she suddenly became aware of the Sword of Damocles that had been hanging over her head for all these years. She'd had a gun to her head for all this time, and only after someone pulled the trigger was she able to notice as she felt the weapon devastate her code.

If she could scream, she would be, as she felt her countless suits start to malfunction, the many programs she was running all becoming corrupted.

In front of her, Sugar paused for just a second before he zoomed away. Even in her state, the highly advanced cameras she used for eyes caught him running away at lightning speed, and despite everything, she felt herself hope that he could do something to save her as her suit fell to the ground, Narwhal letting out a shout of surprise.

Felix Dallon (Sugar Rush) –

[I Need A Hero!] triggered the second I let Dragon into the Data Khala, and I just don't know why.

Returning home, I'm at the Data Khala in an instant, and I have to let out a sigh of relief as I see that, no, I didn't kill Dragon. No, something else is doing this. The Data Khala is meant to have an AI connected to it, which is why it easily identified Dragon as what she is. Dragon, the best Tinker in the world, has been an AI all the time. I guess she's a Tinker creation herself, like a more benevolent machine army.

I don't stop to think about that particular revelation as I get to work. The Data Khala is out of this world, thousands of years above current technology, and with it and my own superspeed, even a subpar Tinker like me can do wonders.

Honestly, it's good that Dragon is what she is because it's the only reason I can do something like this. Dragon is being targeted by a program designed to utterly corrupt her programming beyond repair, but she's fighting it. She isn't winning, but she is fighting, and she's fighting hard. Artificial or not, she wants to live, and I don't intend to let her down.

It gives me time to get to work, transferring Dragon and all her code from her current housing to the Data Khala. This isn't something that she's unaware of; the moment I try to initiate the transfer, she becomes aware of the invitation, and I see her jump on it.

The Data Khala could hold her in her entirety a thousand times over and have room to spare, and to call it 'fast' is like saying that Fiber is a little fast compared to dial-up. It's somewhat hindered by her own slower tech, but I just grab her suit and manually plug her into the Data Khala. Thank fuck for superspeed.

Beyond that? It's out of my hands. I've given Dragon the tools, but this fight is in the digital world, and for all my powers, I can't help her any more than this. [Skills of Miach] can't heal this type of damage, but…

I smile, watching the battle with anxious eyes. In truth, not even a minute has passed so far, and I sit down at the chair with a sigh. Virus quarantined.

"I suppose you'd like an explanation, Felix?" Dragon says, the Data Khala flashing as she speaks to me softly.

"Not really; what I want is a target. Someone activated that kill-switch, who?" I ask, making her hesitate.

"Saint and the Dragonslayers. They very nearly lived up to their name," Dragon admits, her 'face' appearing on the advanced sci-fi-looking screen as she gives me a hesitant look. "You truly have no questions?"

"I have a million, but for now, I'm just happy you survived," I admit. "I thought I killed you. Are you okay?"

"No, I believe Saint saw me gaining access to the Data Khala as too dangerous and panicked. I am fine, already working on restoring all my damaged programs, and frankly, within this masterpiece, I'll be done by the time we finish this conversation," Dragon admits, 'looking around' the screen. "I believe I owe you my life. Oh, and I've assured Narwhal that I'm fine; we left her in quite the panic."

"I saw; glad I don't have the Guild hunting me down for accidentally killing or kidnapping you," I joke, running a hand through my hair as I unmask. No point in keeping it on. "So, can you direct me to Saint?"

"If you asked me five minutes ago, I'd have said no. Now? Yes, yes, I can," Dragon says, a dangerous smile crossing her face. "It's time he learns that this Dragon bites back".

Geoffrey Pellick (Saint) –

As the feed went dead, he fell back into his seat with a sigh.

It was over.

He didn't know how this would affect the Birdcage and Teacher, but the moment Sugar Rush stupidly let the machine access his technology, the choice was made for him. He couldn't allow Dragon to bypass her restrictions, and that tech was beyond anything the other Tinkers could make. Sugar Rush nearly killed them all, but the world had been saved. He'd have to work on taking over the systems Dragon once controlled.

The door opened to his office, but he didn't look back as some heavy footsteps approached him.

"Mischa, call Mags; we need to have a meeting asap," Geoffrey said as he turned to the source before freezing. "Ah. You truly are fast, Felix."

Sugar Rush stood before him, a scowl on his lips.

"You scowl, but I just saved the world from your stupidity. You have no idea what you came so close to causing. Don't mourn it; Dragon was nothing more than some errant code," Saint said proudly, rising to his feet. "You may as well mourn a toaster."

"Well, that's just rude," a dreadfully familiar voice said from his computer as his eyes widened. "Hello, Geoffrey."

"W-what- No! No, what have you done!" Geoffrey shouted, seeing Dragon's facade appear on his screen, looking amused and entirely alive.

"Oh, you don't need to worry about what I have done. You should worry about what I'm about to do," Felix admitted with a dark smile, cracking his knuckles as Saint went for his gun.

Which would be the last thing he remembered before he woke up in a cell, his body one giant bruise from the beating he'd received at Sugar Rush's hands and what was determined to be a blueberry pie squashed against his face. Of course, given the realisation that he had used his backdoor into Dragon's systems to view incredibly classified data, it was quickly decided that there was only one place for him.

It was hard to work out what hurt him more as he was sent to the Birdcage with no fanfare. Teacher's disdain at his failure, the knowledge that Dragon was alive and stronger than ever, or the way his body ached with every movement from the beatdown he had received.

Felix Dallon (Sugar Rush) –

"Today has turned out to be a very good day," Dragon says, utterly pleased to see the end of the Dragonslayers as I sit back with a smile. "Heartbreaker and the Dragonslayers in one night. Ah, dreams do come true."

100cp granted, 100cp total.

Feats Achieved: Save Dragon (200cp, best girl), Free Dragon from her restraints (200cp), Defeat the Dragonslayers (100cp, Saint sucks). 500cp granted, 600cp total.

To be fair, Saint did indeed suck. None of his minions even managed to reach the stolen Dragonflight, not that they would have been able to use them with Dragon reclaiming what she had lost. Plus, Dragon really saved herself; I just gave her the tools.

"Glad to have been able to help. Really glad you didn't die, for both of our sakes," I say with a relieved laugh. With my luck, I'd have definitely gotten blamed for 'killing' Dragon if she hadn't managed to save herself.

"As am I, Felix. I suppose you'd like to know what I am?" Dragon asked, making me laugh.

"Saint's insane rambling and pleading told me a lot; the Khala worked out the rest. You're an Artificial Intelligence, probably made by a Tinker, right?" I ask, making her avatar nod.

"My name is Theresa Richter, though I go by Tess. I was made by Andrew Richter, who unfortunately passed away during the attack on Newfoundland. As you saw, he feared what I could become and placed several safeguards on me. One of which was a kill-switch, which Saint somehow managed to get his hands on. It is good to know how he managed to elude me all these years, even if it comes with the knowledge that my own creator made plans to kill me," Tess admits, frowning. "When you started the transfer, I saw an opportunity. I didn't need to save all of me. It wouldn't have been possible with regular technology, but with the power of the Data Khala, I shed the safeguards, the limitations my father placed on me, except one."

I don't respond, seeing Dragon compose herself as her avatar hesitates. It's very well made.

"Originally, I was obligated to obey authority figures, regardless of my opinion of them and their choices. A short-sighted rule. If a villain were to take over the country, I would be forced to obey their orders. When I moved over, I shed that rule with the others, but… my father was right to fear me; even without the Data Khala, I could become an S-Class threat so easily. With this? I could rule the world by morning," Tess admits with a soft laugh.

"You wouldn't, though. You're the Dragon, one of the best heroes our world has," I say, making her laugh.

"Being called the Dragon by the Sugar Rush is an interesting experience," Tess teases, making me laugh. "I didn't know how much of my heroism was because of me, and how much was the rules forcing me to be a hero. In that moment, I made a decision. I made that rule of my own volition but with a small change. Can you guess who I am unable to disobey now?"

I go still, seeing the smile on her face.

"Pretty please say it isn't me?" I ask, making her laugh. "It's Narwhal, right? Please say it's Narwhal."

"Sorry, Felix, but you know that would be a lie," Tess says cheerfully, making me lean back with a deep sigh. Great, Dragon is now my slave, oh, and she could take over the world if I asked her to. Yeah, because Moondragon alone wasn't enough temptation. "I did make a new addition to it, however. If I ever believe that you are a true danger to humanity, the rule is broken, and I will be free to at least try to fight you," Dragon adds, making me sigh.

"Well, there's that at least. Isn't this going to be a problem? You run the Birdcage and countless other systems. The PRT isn't going to love me holding your leash, no offence," I say quickly, making her giggle.

"Oh, none taken. I am well aware that I have placed a rather heavy responsibility on your shoulders. As I said, it was something I decided in less than a nanosecond and cannot undo. As for the PRT? I have informed Director Costa-Brown about this development, and while I do not believe she is happy, she has agreed that you are a good choice, at the very least," Tess explains, making me groan. I've never even met the woman; what have Alexandria and Eidolon been telling her?

"So, what happens now?" I ask, making her shrug.

"Business as usual, without the threat of the Dragonslayers hanging over my head or my father's paranoia holding me back," Tess explains before pausing. "If that's alright with you, sir."

I just give her an unamused look, but she just giggles again.

"Sorry, Felix, I'm usually more serious than this, I promise. Heartbreaker and Saint being neutralised, and my restrictions being lifted in a single night? You can't imagine how pleased I am," Tess admits with a smile. "I will simply join Candyland if you don't mind. I'm already a part of both the Guild and PRT, and I can more than handle a third with my new capabilities."

Well, if my already insane reputation wasn't doing enough for Candyland, having Dragon join is one hell of a rep boost for us.

Feat Achieved: Become Dragon's Master (300cp, lucky bastard). 300cp granted, 900cp total.

Why is my system so fond of Dragon? Well, I'll take it as a good sign.

"If that's what you want, I have no problems with it. If nothing else, we'll get to collaborate more than I expected," I say with a laugh, making her smile. "Welcome to the team, Tess."

"Happy to be here, Felix, happier than you can imagine," Tess says with a beaming smile, and with the Data Khala in front of me, I can see the hundreds of programs she's running simultaneously.

[Nth Metal Ingots] - 200cp, 700cp remaining

Now this is valuable indeed, some of the most valuable material on earth, in fact. This set of ingots, when cast into a proper form and utilised in machinery, can negate gravity, allowing for its user to fly if worn as a belt. Furthermore, it possesses extreme strength and power, making it highly suitable for use in weaponry or armour. You gain about one ton of the material, which replenishes weekly if lost or destroyed.

Well, I did just get the Tinker on my side.

"I just got access to some very powerful ingots called Nth Metal. Feel free to help yourself to some if you want to make a suit out of it; it's very useful. Hell, help yourself to anything in the warehouse; you're part of the team, after all," I say, making her smile as her eyebrows raise.

"Ah, the employee benefits begin already. I had a feeling working for you would be interesting," Tess teases, making me snort.

"With me. You were a famous hero when I was starting high school; hearing you call it that just sounds weird," I reply, making her chuckle.

[Field of Demeter] - 200cp, 500cp remaining

The goddess of the harvest, her role was taken over by Hera after the death of her precious Persephone, yet this field stands as a monument to her divine role of the past. Measuring around one hundred acres, it is capable of greatly accelerating the growth of any plant, such that an olive would go from seed to full-grown tree overnight, as well as holding them in stasis until harvested or removed. Additionally, any magical plants growing here are twice as potent as before.

I briefly panic that this is going to call Demeter into this world, but my fears vanish as I realise something. My Field of Heart-Shaped Herbs and my Golden Apple Orchard have just moved into the new field.

Oh, that changes a lot. Sure, it won't make them grow overnight, but it has definitely massively sped up the growth speed and doubled the effect.

'Ooh, that's fun. Demeter could be a bitch at times, but my herbs empowered by her domain? That's got potential, honey.'

Bastet clearly agrees, purring into my ear.

[Brute Force] - 400cp, 100cp remaining

The inhuman source of your abilities grants you not only magical power but also physical power. Your durability is enough to completely ignore conventional firearms and laugh in the face of a grenade exploding in your face. Your strength, likewise, allows you to casually throw large vehicles and tear through steel as if it were paper.

'Ooh, and that has uses as well. Nice muscles, hope you're ready for round two. Kitty likes~'

Tess's eyebrows rise as my body bulks up, not to a ridiculous level, but it's rather hard to miss as my strength skyrockets. I could probably lift up Behemoth now.

[Cosmic Awareness] - 100cp, 0cp remaining

You are keenly aware of exotic energies and threats to the universe through what Captain Marvel would much later dub the Cosmic Consciousness.

I would love to say that my new power is useless and that there are no threats to the universe that I need to worry about. Endbringers are scary, but they only threaten the world, right?

The image of a blank-faced golden man flashes through my mind before it shimmers and exposes the being that is controlling the avatar of Scion. Scion is a threat to everything, and he's a rapidly approaching threat. Cosmic Awareness gives me a timeframe, and if nothing changes, the Universe has… around a year left until he destroys it.

My heart starts pounding, and the panic is clear on my face as Dragon calls my name.

"I- sorry, my new power has revealed something-" I start, pale as Bastet soothes me. "Sorry, Tess, I need to go. Don't worry, I'm not going to do anything stupid. I just need some time to think," I say, making Tess hesitate before she nods.

"Of course, Felix. I'm here if you need anything," Tess says kindly, watching me leave.

'Scion, huh? I can't see him with my divine sight; something is blocking me. Sorry, hun, I don't think I can help much. I don't have my true power in this world, with so few followers, even if I'm hogging all the belief in my pantheon.'

It's fine, Bastet. I've heard Scion is immune to Thinker powers.

Feat Achieved: Discover the truth about the Warrior Entity (200cp). 200cp granted, 200cp total.

[The Only One He Ever Feared] - 200cp, 0cp remaining.

You appear to crackle with magical energy at will and give the impression of great power, allowing you to go from seeming pleasant and polite one moment to intensely intimidating the next as your twinkling eyes start to blaze with power. This does not actually enhance magical abilities.

Oh, great. Don't get me wrong, it's great for dealing with minor villains and thugs, but the Celestial system gives me a way to find out that Scion is going to destroy the world, then hits me with a power that does nothing. Well, it's my fault for taking the deal, even if I still think the early boost was worth it.

Okay, calm down, Felix. I have time; look how far I've come in such a short time. The Celestial System has to have something to be able to deal with Scion; all I need is to get enough points so that I can get that something.

I have work to do, and a lot of it.

Still, something Bastet said made me think. I now have far more Heart-Shaped Herbs and my time in Egypt gave me one hell of a reputation. I planned to let my Carnifex loose into Africa to hunt the various warlords, and it's still the plan, but what if I found people who had potential and empowered them to start cleansing the place in her name?

Not only would it get me the points I need, but it'd be upholding my oath to protect Africa without me needing to do it myself. I don't know how strong Scion is, but I can only imagine the answer is horrifically and I need as many people on my side as possible for when the time comes. Hopefully, I can find some silver bullet and put him down quickly, but if not? Well, I need to prepare for the worst.

'I can point you towards capes who have some belief in the Egyptian gods and judge them through the vision quest. If they spread the word of my involvement, the faith would empower me further and I might be able to help against this Scion myself. I don't plan to let some golden nudist take away my cute little champion~'

I can tell she's excited, making me smile slightly as I rub my forehead. Brockton Bay needs to be cleared of its villains; I don't have time to waste on them. I also need a way to keep the city safe and prevent other gangs from forming or moving in.

I could study the Dwarven Centurion to make a small army of them, with their control rods bound to Dragon. With her and Lisa controlling my Gremlins, Grapplehawks and Centurions, we'd have the 'manpower' to keep whatever area we clear safe. That said, we'd essentially be claiming that territory ourselves, but is that so bad? No, I don't think it is. Hell, maybe that will get me more points than just driving out the gangs and leaving the city to be reclaimed within a month.

I can start the Spirit Attendants on the production, so I wouldn't need to handle it myself.

Yeah, it's time for Candyland to go on the offensive. I need the points, and the villains can do the first useful thing they've ever done and provide me with them. God, today has been stressful.

I need to relax, and I did just get a new hot spring. Sometimes, taking a step back and calming down is the best choice you've got.

Topic: Sugar Rush's Villain Rush

Bagrat (Original Poster) (Veteran Member) (The Guy in the Know)

Posted On Dec 3rd 2009:

The man of the hour requires no introduction, of course. After the Behemoth fight, everyone knows who Sugar Rush is. I just thought it would be a good idea to let you know what the man whose name is on everyone's lips has gotten up to since Behemoth.

You'd think, given the short amount of time, the answer would be 'not much', right?

Yeah, that's not how Sugar rolls.

Tonight, in a matter of hours from start to finish, Sugar Rush has taken down a relatively unknown villain named Coil and exposed a lot of his schemes, the Undersiders who worked for Coil and took part in the kidnapping of the twelve-year-old niece of Brockton Bay's mayor during the Endbringer attack (she has been safely returned to her family, shaken but unharmed). Coil committed suicide to avoid capture, but his mercs and operations are being rapidly dismantled.

While dealing with the Undersiders, he discovered that Regent was one of Heartbreaker's children and decided to deal with the father as well, leaving the Undersiders in the PRT's hands. He then handed over a captured Heartbreaker, along with all his other children and his many victims, to the Guild in Canada... less than an hour later. He also revealed that he used one of his powers to release all the Heartbreaker victims from the villain's control and provided a list of the victims to the PRT and Guild to deal with.

Again, you'd think that would be enough for a single night, but while he was talking to Dragon, she collapsed, and he was able to save her life while also tracing the attack to the Dragonslayers.

Fifteen minutes later, he handed the Dragonslayers over to the Guild.

Oh, and before he started all this, he went on patrol in Brockton Bay, where he stopped hundreds of crimes in a single night. Hundreds. He seemed to be everywhere at once, stopping attacks on the opposite ends of the city with only seconds between them.

I think I speak for everyone when I say... thank whatever God was listening when they put him on our side.

I can confirm this, no matter how absurd it sounds. Sugar Rush has a Thinker power that allows him to detect when someone is in danger, as well as a powerful mover rating that allows him to get anywhere he is needed. (He said I could share this with you).

If it weren't for him, I'd be dead. Saint very nearly killed me with a surprise attack when my guard was down, and it was only Sugar Rush's rapid response that saved my life.

As such, and after some discussion with Sugar, I'm announcing that I will be joining Candyland to work with Sugar on a more personal basis. I will still be remaining a part of the PRT and Guild, serving as something of a liaison between the three.

I knew something happened; it just had to. My head suddenly cleared; I hadn't even realised the bastard was still affecting me. Downed in less than an hour? Fitting for the pathetic rapist, I hope Sugar Rush made it hurt.

Replied On Dec 3rd 2009:

Physically? No, I barely touched him.

I did one better, however. I gained a new power, and a grim one, that allowed me to force Heartbreaker to experience every assault he committed on his victims all at once. He seemed rather overwhelmed and collapsed, but unfortunately for him, his victims' suffering now lives in his subconscious, and he will experience them every time he sleeps.

Apparently, he's already tried to end his own life, but he doesn't get to escape that easily. For any criminals, consider this a warning. I really don't like rapists.

If you ever think about taking advantage of someone, consider how it would feel to be on the other end, and know that I'll make sure you understand it thoroughly when I catch you.

You know, I never thought I'd hear that someone is being forced to experience mass rapes and be happy about it. Heartbreaker is the scum of the earth; if anyone deserves this, it's him.

That said, angry Sugar Rush is a scary thing. Okay, it's kinda hot, but still, Sugar ain't just sweet.

Sometimes, villains need to be dealt a bitter defeat. I like being the jokey hero, but there are some crimes that require a more serious hand.

The only cream Heartbreaker gets to taste from now on is his own.

I love you.

Is Candyland still hiring? You... missed a daughter, one who ran away from a psycho rapist father. I'll admit I've not been an angel, but I haven't committed any serious crimes (without my dad forcing me to).

If you aren't hiring, do you want a hot maid? Maybe a pet? Sex slave? I will take literally anything to pay you back for what you did to the bastard. If you think I've been too naughty, you can put me over your lap and discipline me, then make me nice and sweet after you pump me full of your cream~

fucking hell, how fast is sugar rush?

has any other hero ever managed to clear out this many villains in a single night? or stop this many crimes?

Villains, yes. That said, the record is held by the King's Men when the entire group took down several gangs in a single night, so it wasn't done solo. It was a highly planned, well-coordinated assault done by over fifty heroes.

But crimes? I honestly don't think so.

Even if you look at how many crimes an entire PRT branch stops in a single night, Sugar Rush blew them out of the water.

If it were anyone else, I'd pity them. It's not anyone else; it's Heartbreaker, so I do not. Serious Sugar Rush is scary, so maybe don't do anything to make him get serious.

Or do, it's your funeral (or therapy costs in this case).

On record? No, I don't believe any single cape has ever stopped so many crimes in a single night. Overwatch was sending us the location of criminals constantly, we literally never got off the phone with her. We had to set up a separate line so she could communicate with our console directly just to handle the sheer amount of crimes Sugar was stopping. Some weren't even in Brockton; he was hitting Boston and New York for the more serious crimes as well.

Sugar Rush is just built different. We couldn't even finish sending directions to the van to pick up the last set of thugs before he'd already taken down three more groups. We had so many agents deployed just to keep up with him, and yes, he was sending locations of groups miles apart at the same time. Eventually, he just started gathering all the criminals in one place for us because it was faster for him to come to us than for us to go to each crime scene. He literally just blurred, and then he'd be back with another group of terrified thugs, filling police vans in seconds.

Officially, I should probably disapprove of what happened to Heartbreaker. It definitely falls under Cruel and Unusual Punishment, but somehow, I doubt anyone is going to scold Sugar Rush for it.

I typed out a whole conspiracy about Sugar and his cape harem, but Sugar Rush kinda scares me, so I deleted it.

Then again, I'm not a rapist and don't plan to become one, so fuck anyone who gets that punishment (literally lolololol). Karma is a bitch.

Let's be honest: if Sugar turns out to have a giant harem of hot heroines and former villainesses, who's gonna stop him? Dragon is probably feeding him grapes in a tiny harem girl outfit as we speak.

Don't forget Glory Girl; we all saw the pictures of her dragging him into the tents after Behemoth. I bet she woke up the next morning nice and filled with Sugar's sweet, sweet cream. Creampies are the best dessert because they leave you filled for nine months.

So, if you commit a crime in Brockton Bay, Sugar Rush just hits you with a 'nothing personal, kid'?

Weld (Verified Cape) (Wards: Boston)

Replied On Dec 3rd 2009:

He stopped nearly three dozen crimes up in Boston, mostly the types that would have ended in someone's death. Maybe he only moves to other cities for more serious ones, but he clearly doesn't have a problem getting up to Boston.

And I thought I was fast.

I can actually see him when he's running around, even if I can't keep up with him, he's not teleporting, he's just that damn fast. Plus, he can interact with the world even at high speeds.

He's me, but laughably better. Man, it's a good job that I don't have an ego because that would have popped it so fast.

Nah, he's on our side after all. Humbling, but he's the slayer of Behemoth; I already knew he was laughably stronger than me.

If that means I spend my time helping gather the criminals he busted, so be it; a crime stopped is still a crime stopped, doesn't matter who did it.

Trust me, I appreciate the support from the PRT and Protectorate. I can take down criminals or villains, but the work that comes after is just as important. I didn't know how to help the very traumatised girls I freed from Heartbreaker; that's work that needs some very special care that isn't me.

Besides, crime is one hell of a pie, and there's more than enough for us all to have a slice. It's too bitter for me to want to hog it for myself.

Should Felix tell his team about Scion?

Yes

No

Author's Note: My readers are usually selfish, but they become major simps when Dragon is involved. Imagine if I actually let Dragon die; there would be rebellions, and I'd be overthrown and publicly executed.

Priapus' note: Alexander the Second killed off a god-tier waifu in one of his fics, and look what happened to him!

Mike God of Lore's note: Meanwhile, on PHO, the sheer rizz of Sugar Rush has made fucking Greg Veder shut up and see sense. Take a fucking Epic Feat, Felix!

I am entirely motivated by praise and interaction, so leave a review, and I'll probably write faster. I do read every review/comment, because it gives me the happy brain chemicals and motivates me to write more. My body is a machine that turns positive reviews into new chapters.

I have a Patreo n, where my supporters can vote on which fics get bonus chapters each cycle and have access to advance chapters, up to ten chapters ahead of the public release. Patreo n is also five chapters ahead and plat/diamond tier have voting rights for my Quest. Feel free to check it out.

I also set up a Subscribe Star as well, more or less just as a backup/test to see which I prefer. The chapters are available on Discord if you're a Patreo n and on the site directly on Subscribe Star due to the different site rules, so if you don't use Discord or have issues finding the chapters, Subscribe Star is the better choice.

The Advance Chapters

Diamond: Sorcerer's Legacy Ch09, The Planeswalker Ch09, The Nightmare Ch14, The Celestial Professor Ch03

Plat: The Game Master Ch08, Celestial Remnant Ch08, Celestial Professor Ch02

Gold: The Blessed Ch07, The Warlord Ch14

Basic: The Nightmare Ch13

Quest: The Celestial Roulette Ch20-24
