Had this idea kind of come to me and well...
And well, kind of wanted to see what everyone would think of this Naruto and Salem ship...
And if I broke everything in RWBY's lore just to see what would happen!
Before we get into it, I know FFN was broken, so if you didn't see the last chapter, I think you should check it out!
So let's go, here is RWBY: The Tale of Ninshū!
Legends… There are many stories scattered through eons. Humankind is quite fond of recounting the exploits of heroes and villains, forgetting so easily that we are the remnants, byproducts of a forgotten past.
Well, you are lucky I am here to recount the tales to you… And tell you the truth of what happened. …And the hero that saved our world… And saved me from my gravest mistake.
But I digress…
Man believes they were born from dust, but this is not entirely true… We are by-products of callous Gods and their influence to make a 'perfect' world who care nothing about their creations… Only that their 'harmony' is upheld… But they are not what matters in this tale.
No, the world they born us into was a cruel, unforgiving world. One with inevitable darkness—creatures of destruction—The creatures of the Grimm, their dealers of death to maintain their 'balance.' Humanity did not take kindly to this and clashed against these creatures of darkness and were nearly driven to the brink of extinction…
When a 'hero' stood on high and taught man how to use 'their' power to fight back and provide the spark for them to challenge the Darkness. This incredible power was known as Ninshū… Or what we call chakra now.
With the teachings of Ninshū, humankind finally stood a chance, and then the 'balance' was tipped in their favor. Then everything changed. With their ingenuity, a mystical substance that could augment the power of nature that they now held in their hands was found… 'Dust' was forever intertwined with chakra, and humanity took its place as the dominant force of this planet.
This upset the Gods, and they tried to retaliate against this 'disruption' of harmony, but once more, the 'hero' stood before them and drove them away and kept our world safe… Even today, he stands watch against their interventions to bring 'balance' and 'harmony to the world they created…
Now is the time for humanity to control its fate. And even as the most brilliant of lights flickers and die, the darkness approaches…
A new story begins.
"Uh, Professor Salem?"
Crystal blue eyes scanned the classroom as she sat on her desk. An elegant woman with long, blonde hair tied into a bun on the back of her head gazed at the student who spoke. "Yes, Ms. Xiao Long? Do you have a question?"
"Kinda…" A buxom blonde seated by a dignified young woman and a young woman with cat ears flicking and her golden eyes rolled as her friend nervously chuckled. "I just don't really understand exactly how the hero could still be watching over us after thousands of years… Like, wouldn't that make him, um, ancient?"
"Yang!" A girl with black hair with gradient red highlights as it progressively turned from bright at the tips to black at the base shrilly shrieked at the blonde. "Professor Salem was there as well! It's all in the books!"
"Yeah, duh. I do read, Rubes." Yang scowled and shook her head. "It just doesn't make any sense! Doesn't matter if you are human or Faunus; ya die from old age! Everyone knows that!"
"Oh, you are so dumb… That's not true at all!" The distinguished young lady with white hair glared at Yang. "There are several cases of immortals documented in our history, each with different reincarnation or regeneration methods…"
"Ms. Schnee is correct," Salem spoke, amused with the situation, a twinkle in her eye. "The hero, myself, and the unfortunate souls enslaved by the Gods' will to bring about their harmony were all cursed with immortality… In different ways."
"Allow me to demonstrate." A golden orb sparkled in her palm as she raised it before her class to display what she had created. "This, class, is a small demonstration of what was known as Magic and is the last vestiges of my people before I unfortunately brought doom onto them through my ignorance…"
As many students gasped in awe, several others squinted, including Yang. "That looks like the Headmaster's legendary technique but gold…"
"There are similarities, I will admit… Ninshū and Magic are both inherited abilities and control the elements. But, alas, Magic is now a rarity these days and often a sign of bad things to come." Salem explained before sighing, lifting her hand to her head. "Now, back to the demonstration… And I'll show you exactly why we are cursed…"
"Now, I don't think we need to go to such extreme lengths," A voice echoed from the edge of the classroom.
The magic aura dispersed, and her sky-blue eyes locked into a pair of cerulean eyes gleaming in amusement as he walked down the classroom steps. "It's perfectly fine if they wish to doubt and not believe in our history… Everyone is free to choose what to believe or come to the truth… Or fall into the dark clutches of Ozma and the Grimm."
"Ah! Headmaster Uzumaki!" Yang shrunk as his stern gaze bored into her, her heart beating rapidly from his disapproving glance, feeling a heavy weight pressing upon her. "I… I…"
The pressure suddenly dispelled as a light chuckle escaped the Headmaster as he rubbed his chin in amusement. "Now that I think about it… It all does sound like a ridiculous tall tale, ya know?"
Glowering, unamused at the interruption, Salem shot a searing gaze toward the Headmaster. He was always like this… If he only ruled with a more iron grip, such descent wouldn't…
Grimacing and taking a deep breath, she shook her head. No, his method had proven effective… Humanity and Faunuskind were a united front… The Kingdoms worked with one another for a single cause…
To erase the last shreds of Grimm and the Brothers' influence from the land. Then, with his guidance…
The world could finally breathe and temporarily be freed from their clutches.
This office… He had always said he modeled it as the office he held back home eons ago when he first arrived…
After the destruction of humanity through her mistake… And giving her a reason to believe once more and be happy…
After having many, many beautiful daughters over the years. …Strangely, no sons… Perhaps they should try again…
Striding toward the center desk as he sifted through the digital reports, Salem carefully slid onto his desk, her back toward him as she sat down. Then, with a glare, she turned back and stared at him. "You could afford to be a little more authoritative with the students… They have been becoming quite rowdy over these last few generations. Discipline is in order."
"You can't let things go, can you?" Naruto groaned, gazing from his reports and glancing up at his wife, holding back the smirk upon seeing the view she was giving him through her white robe. Even when she was upset, she was always sending signals… It was pretty confusing.
"It's not who I am." Salem simply replied, noticing the elevator was moving once more. "I hold grudges for eternity… I will never forgive them… But I will adhere to your desires and goals as I believe in them. A world where we're in charge and humanity can flourish without interference."
"You remind me of him more than I would like to admit…" Naruto grumbled, breaking his gaze as a satisfied smirk graced Salem's expression.
"Ah, that's because your personalities mesh well together… Why we work well with one another." Salem haughtily flaunted, and her eyes twinkled with amusement. "Isn't that why you oversee initiation tests and rig the tests so partners and teams are set up to complement one another? …How many of our students end up married to their partners or teammates?"
"That's not what I do!" Naruto snapped as Salem chuckled.
"You're right… I do think Ms. Xiao Long and Ms. Belladonna would look cute together."
"I just said…"
The vitriolic rant that was building inside him came to a complete stop as the elevator rang and the door shuttered open. Naruto glared at Salem's backside as she whistled in amusement, focusing on the three individuals who stepped out.
She knew exactly what she was doing… And how to avoid his outbursts… Clever girl.
"Ah, Ms. Fall, it's good to see you." Salem greeted the lead of the three individuals before her lips twisted to a malicious smirk. "Come to learn more about the powers you have inherited?"
"Not quite ready for that…" Cinder grimaced, seeing the glimmer of intent in Salem's gaze
The world of agony awaited if she accepted her offer… Oh, why did she have to be the one to inherit her daughter's immortal spirit of Fall…
"We have an issue." The tall and dapper man strutted past Cinder, focusing straight on Naruto. "We got new players approaching onto my territory…
"Torchwick," Salem snarled as her gaze blistered at the man. "Need I remind you, Vale, nay, Remnant is our territory. Know your…"
"Salem, it's fine…" Naruto exhaled, understanding how she felt, but focused his intent on Roman.
Having an in with the underground was useful. Having them work with you for your protection… Far more valuable.
"What kind of players are we talking about?" Naruto sat straight in his seat, aware that he wouldn't bring up this issue if it were something he could handle on his own. He was calling in a favor on their agreement.
"A bitch with Magical powers and her gang. That's what kind of players we're dealing with." Roman snarled before waving over at the other two. "If it weren't for your apprentice Neo here, Cinder and I would have been taken out by that woman!"
Naruto and Salem's gazes shared for a brief moment before the latter's gaze darkened, and Naruto cursed. "Fuck, the inheriter of Summer has surfaced… I knew her disappearance was foreboding this outcome. …He has a spirit of…"
"I know!" Salem snarled, her gaze focusing on Cinder. "You will report here every morning without fail for further training, understand? We cannot afford to wait…"
"He finally has one of the seasons, and his goal is to collect your inheritance, Ms. Fall."
