Two days later:

The Crimson Red Fleet approached Hawaii. During their voyage, they encountered a small Siren Fleet consisting of two Light cruisers and four Destroyers. The Fleet of Fog easily destroyed them.

(ARP)Yamato: Well, that was effortless.

(ARP)Musashi: Indeed, just using the Photon Cannon Laser Oscillation Beams and a few missiles!

(ARP)Shinano: Though it seemed enjoyable, in reality, it wasn't. They were too easy to defeat.

(ARP)Repulse: We only sank two Light cruisers and four Destroyers. It wasn't even a battle.

(ARP)Yamato: You're right, Repulse.

(ARP)Nachi: What?

On her radar, Nachi spotted three dots at 125.96 kilometers from her fleet. As her radar system had a greater range than her fleet, she informed the supreme flagship.

(ARP)Nachi: "Lady Yamato, three unidentified vessels are approaching at 29 knots," Nachi reported.

(ARP)Yamato: "What?" Yamato exclaimed.

(ARP)Musashi: "Where are they now?" Musashi inquired.

(ARP)Nachi: "The unknown vessels are 125.96 kilometers from our location," Nachi replied.

(ARP)Yamato: "So they're ahead of us," Yamato muttered. "Nachi, can you identify those mysterious ships?"

(ARP)Nachi: "Those ships are the aircraft carrier Enterprise, the light cruiser Cleveland, and the destroyer Laffey," Nachi informed them.

(ARP)Yamato: "Saint Paul, you know them, don't you?" Yamato asked.

(ARP)Saint Paul: "Yes," Saint Paul confirmed.

(ARP)Yamato: "Can you sail ahead of my escort destroyers so that they can easily spot your ship?" Yamato requested.

"Roger that," Saint Paul replied.

As Saint Paul sailed confidently at the forefront of the formation, one swift glance across the azure expanse revealed the unmistakable silhouettes of three approaching vessels. Enterprise, the legendary fleet carrier, led the trio, her sleek flight deck cutting through the waves. Close behind her was Cleveland, the light cruiser known for her nimble maneuvering. Bringing up the rear was Laffey, the intrepid destroyer with an indomitable spirit.

Saint Paul's heart skipped a beat as she recognized the identities of these esteemed ship girls. She had heard tales of their prowess in countless naval battles, and the mere sight of them filled her with a mix of awe and trepidation. As the three vessels drew closer, Saint Paul couldn't help but marvel at their polished hulls and the intricate designs emblazoned upon their bows.

Behind her, Yamato and the rest of her fleetmates sailed in steady formation, their powerful engines humming in unison. They had come a long way together, and they were determined to face whatever challenges lay ahead. As the two formations converged, a palpable tension hung in the air. Saint Paul knew that the fate of the upcoming battle could rest upon the actions of these extraordinary ship girls.

Timeskip: 10 Minutes Later

The Azure Lane Ship Girls approached the location where a Siren Fleet had been detected near Hawaii, sent by their Commander to investigate. After a 30-minute sail, Enterprise and her comrades reached the coordinates. However, instead of a Siren armada, they were greeted by a chilling sight.

A vast fleet of warships, their hulls cloaked in a sinister mist, lay in wait. Among them were leviathans of war: the Yamato-class battleship, Renown-class battlecruiser, King George V-class battleship, Myoukou-class heavy cruiser, and Fubuki-class destroyers. Joining them were sleek Jervis-class destroyers, hunter-killer escort carriers, agile Nagara-class light cruisers, and a menacing squadron of Akizuki destroyers.

Enterprise, Cleveland, and Laffey were horrified at the scale of the Fog Fleet. They knew that a fight would be futile, their meager numbers no match for such an overwhelming force. With a heavy heart, Enterprise ordered her comrades to fall back to Azure Lane.

Through the chaotic battle, Enterprise's keen eyes caught sight of a familiar vessel trailing behind one of the Akizuki Destroyers. It was a Light cruiser, Cleveland, accompanied by her intrepid destroyer escort, Laffey. A flicker of recognition crossed her face, and she altered her course, signaling Cleveland and Laffey to follow.

For Saint Paul, this reunion brought a surge of joy. She had always cherished the bonds she had forged with these valiant ships, despite the turmoil that had plagued their world. However, she remained steadfast in her decision to remain neutral in the conflict between Azur Lane and Red Axis. Only if her Supreme Flagship granted her permission would she consider intervening.

On the deck of the Saint Paul

Enterprise and her friends leapt onto the Heavy Cruiser, their hearts pounding with a mixture of relief and trepidation. As they scanned the deck, their gazes fell upon the familiar form of Saint Paul herself.

Enterprise surged forward, her arms outstretched to embrace her long-lost friend. "Saint Paul!" she exclaimed, her voice trembling with emotion. "I thought we'd never see you again, but here you are, with this magnificent fleet behind you."

(ARP)Saint Paul's expression softened as she returned Enterprise's embrace, but a hint of sadness lingered in her eyes. "I came as soon as I heard your distress call," she said softly. "But I... I cannot intervene in this fight."

(AL)Enterprise's heart sank. "What?" she gasped. "But why not?"

(ARP)Saint Paul sighed heavily. "Orders from above," she explained. "I am under strict instructions to remain neutral and observe."

(AL)Enterprise's worry grew as she looked back at the approaching enemy fleet. "But they're going to destroy us!" she protested. "We need your help!"

(ARP)Saint Paul's gaze turned distant as she contemplated her options. "I wish I could offer more, Enterprise," she said regretfully. "But I must follow my orders. I will observe the battle, and when it is over, I will do what little I can to assist the survivors."

(AL)Enterprise and her friends stood in stunned silence as Saint Paul withdrew to a safe distance. They had hoped for a miracle, but it seemed that even their powerful ally was forbidden to come to their aid.

As Saint Paul watched Enterprise with a hint of sorrow in her eyes, Enterprise returned her gaze with a concerned expression.

(AL)Enterprise: "Saint Paul," Enterprise inquired, "what troubles you? Has something occurred?"

(ARP)Saint Paul's voice was laced with regret as she replied, "I extend my apologies, Enterprise. I am unable to intervene in your conflict with the Red Axis. It is by order of my esteemed High Flagship herself. I deeply regret this."

(ARP)Enterprise: A wave of shock washed over Enterprise. "Why would that be!?" she exclaimed.

(ARP)Saint Paul sighed. "My High Flagship is aware of the fact that the USMF Navy is merely exploiting my advanced technologies. Hence, she has forbidden me from interfering in this war."

(ARP)Enterprise: "But is there no other way?" Enterprise asked desperately. "Can we not reason with her?"

(ARP)Saint Paul's tone softened, but her resolve remained unshaken. "I must reiterate, Enterprise. I am not permitted to intervene in this conflict between Azur Lane and the Red Axis. My hands are tied."

Cleveland: Shall we implore your supreme Flagship Yamato's aid?

Saint Paul: No.

(AL)Enterprise: Saint Paul, please, persuade her of our predicament. We desperately require your firepower. I beg you, as a favor to me. I cannot bear the thought of countless lives lost in this conflict.

(ARP)Saint Paul: Enterprise, understand this: she forbids me from interfering in your affairs. I have already assisted you once.

(AL)Cleveland: Could you at least beseech her?

(ARP)Saint Paul: No, it is not our concern.

(AL)Enterprise: (saddened) Very well, Saint Paul. We will not press you further.

(ARP)Saint Paul: (smiling) Thank you for your understanding, Enterprise.

(AL)Cleveland: Let's move on. Saint Paul, have you reunited with your sisters at the base?

(ARP)Saint Paul: Indeed. They rejoiced at my return.

While the conversation continued elsewhere, at the Supreme Flagship, Yamato and her sister Musashi engaged in a private exchange. Yamato gazed at Saint Paul Friends, who were conversing nearby. Musashi observed her sister's expression and inquired, "Sis, are you okay?"

(ARP)Yamato responded with a slight smile, "Yes, I'm fine, Musashi. Don't worry about me."

(ARP)Musashi pressed on, "But, sister, are you sure this is a wise decision? Going to Azur Lane..."

(ARP)Yamato: "Yes," Yamato replied firmly. "Saint Paul herself extended the invitation to meet her friends there. I never imagined that she would have forged such close bonds with those Kansen."

(ARP)Musashi nodded in agreement. "Indeed. But do you believe the high command of Azur Lane might attempt to exploit Saint Paul's advanced technology?"

(ARP) Yamato: I believe so. They witnessed Saint Paul's impressive firepower in the Atlantic Ocean.

(ARP) Musashi: Indeed. The US government desired the surplus technology Saint Paul possessed as a Fog warship, particularly its missiles and corrosive warhead torpedoes.

(ARP) Yamato: Yes, but that's no longer possible as Saint Paul is no more.

(ARP) Nachi (joining the conversation): Lady Yamato, an emergency!

(ARP) Yamato: What is it?

(ARP) Nachi: Enterprise Fleet reports they're unable to enter Vietnamese territorial waters.

(ARP) Yamato: Why is that?

(ARP) Nachi: The Japanese Imperial Navy has blocked them, ordering them to turn around. Failure to comply will result in the sinking of Philippine cargo vessels.

Yamato: (Slams fist on console, voice dripping with anger) Tsk! Notify the Hellcat Fleet that they have been ordered to sink those Japanese warships, now!

Nachi: Yes, Lady Yamato. I will transmit the order to the Hellcat Fleet through the Tactical Network. Also, Lady Yamato, Vietnam is currently under the control of the Imperial Japanese Army.

Yamato: (Thoughtful) Hmmm... Inform the Enterprise Fleet that they have permission to destroy and drive back the Imperial Army to their mainland. Make it clear that I do not care if the Imperial soldiers die. Vietnam is under our protection.

Nachi: Hai.

Yamato: (Eerie smile) So they want war, huh? So be it. Hahahahahaha... hahahah...

Musashi: (Trembling) Sister... are... are you okay?

(ARP)Yamato: (eerie smile) Yes, sister, I'm well. Moreover, I've messaged all Fog warships to ready themselves for battle. Connect us to the tactical network now, while we sail to Azur Lane. As soon as they receive the message, they must await my orders!

(ARP)Musashi: Understood, Supreme Flagship.

(ARP)Yamato: Excellent. I will instruct Saint Paul on the tactical network to conceal this plan from her allies.

Now, the war between the Fleet of Fog and the Japanese Imperial Navy shall commence.

(ARP)Yamato: (musing) Those Japanese have no idea what they're dealing with.

Musashi gazed at her elder sister with concern. Her behavior had been peculiar since departing the Fog base.

(ARP)Musashi: (contemplating) Sister, what are your intentions for this conflict?

At Hashirajima Naval Base, the hallways were abuzz with activity. Mental Models rushed to the dock, their faces determined. Others gathered at the tactical network, their fingers hovering over the screens as they planned the operation to push the Japanese Navy and Imperial Army back to Taiwan.

The first step was to push back the Japanese Imperial Navy. If they could succeed in doing that, they would need to coordinate with the Vietnam Army. However, to do that, they would need to get the cooperation of the Philippine government.

Akagi, the Commander-in-Chief of the Combined Fleet, sent Kongo, the battleship, and I-402, the submarine, to Manila to meet with Admiral John William. They were tasked with persuading the Philippine government to cooperate with Vietnam.

Meanwhile, on the turbulent waters of the South Philippines Sea, the battle raged on. The Hellcat Fleet, under the command of the formidable ARP Enterprise, unleashed its devastating firepower upon the Japanese Imperial Navy.

Japanese ships exploded in spectacular fashion as Baltimore's deadly precision shots sent them to their watery graves. Sailors were hurled through the air, their bodies shattered into a thousand pieces. The remaining Imperial vessels, realizing the futility of their situation, turned tail and retreated towards Taiwan.

(ARP)Enterprise: "All Fog warships, cease fire," Enterprise's voice crackled over the comms. "Let them be. We shall continue our course to Vung Tàu in Vietnam."

The Fog warships responded with a chorus of "Roger, Flagship." The battle subsided, leaving a trail of wreckage in its wake. The Hellcat Fleet had once again emerged victorious, their reputation as the scourge of the Japanese navy solidified.

As they continued their journey towards Vung Tau, Vietnam, Enterprise sent a report to Nachi over the Tactical Network. Upon receiving the report, Enterprise relayed the contents to her supreme flagship.

(ARP)Nachi: "Lady Yamato, I have a report from Enterprise over the Tactical Network," Nachi informed. "She reports that they have successfully pushed back the Japanese Imperial Navy to Taiwan and are now continuing towards Vietnam."

(ARP)Yamato's evil smile spread across her face. "Good," she said. "Tell Enterprise that once they arrive at Vung Tau Harbor, they are to remain there for a while. The Japanese will likely return for revenge."

(ARP)Nachi: "Hai, Lady Yamato," Nachi replied. "I will send the message immediately."

(ARP)Ashigara: "Those poor Japanese sailors," Ashigara muttered.

(ARP)Haguro: "Are you worried about them?" Haguro inquired.

(ARP)Ashigara: "Not particularly," Ashigara replied.

Haguro hummed in acknowledgment.

On the flight deck of the colossal aircraft carrier Shinano, the towering figure of Shinano herself sat sipping tea alongside her miniature mental model, a smaller version of herself.

(ARP)Shinano: "How do I operate my 20 Super Graviton Laser Oscillation Beams and my Gravity Distortion Sea?" Shinano inquired, her voice echoing through the vast expanse of the deck.

(ARP)Little Shinano, as she was known, glanced at her larger counterpart with an amused expression. "I thought you had mastered our weaponry," she teased.

(ARP)Shinano: "Only partially," Shinano admitted. "The finer details still elude me."

(ARP) little Shinano: "In that case," Little Shinano suggested, "why not consult our quantum computers?"

(ARP)Shinano's eyes lit up. "That's a brilliant idea!"

As she spoke, a series of glowing holographic rings materialized around her form, each pulsating with countless lines of code and digital data.

(ARP) little Shinano: "Due to our exceptional processing power, far surpassing that of our older sister," Little Shinano explained, "we possess the ability to manipulate the very tides of the sea."

(ARP)Shinano's gaze sharpened. "So, that weapon can harness gravity to alter the flow of the oceans?" she asked, her voice laced with intrigue.

(ARP)Little Shinano: Yes, we can control the currents, making it difficult for our enemies to fight back.

(ARP)Shinano: Hold on, how do you know all this?

(ARP)Little Shinano: I'm accessing the quantum computer while we talk. Also, you're forgetting that I'm your second mental model, capable of thinking independently just like you.

(ARP)Shinano: So, you know about all our weapons?

(ARP)Little Shinano: I know only a portion of it. We need to consult with our elder sister about the rest.

(ARP)Shinano: You mentioned earlier that we have more powerful processing capabilities than our older sister Yamato?

(ARP)Little Shinano: Correct. Since our elder sister was converted us into a Super-Sea Area Assault and Suppression Ship, we've also been upgraded. Despite the conversion, we still carry 16 aircraft in our hangars and possess a significant drone complement.

(ARP)Shinano: I'll have to ask our elder sister about my 20 Super Graviton Laser Oscillation Beams and my Gravity Distortion Sea.

Scene: The bridge of the ARP Shinano

Characters:

ARP Shinano

ARP Yamato

Dialogue:

"Big Sister Yamato," Shinano greeted.

(ARP)Yamato appeared on a holographic screen. "What is it, my dear sister?"

(ARP)Shinano: "Big Sister, can you show me how to operate my Super Graviton Laser Oscillation Beams and Gravity Distortion Sea?" Shinano asked. "As the one who converted me into a Super-Sea Area Assault and Suppression Ship, you must surely know how."

(ARP)Yamato's expression turned solemn. "I'm sorry, Shinano, but I cannot teach you right now."

(ARP)Shinano: "Why?" She asked, her voice laced with disappointment.

(ARP)Yamato: "Big Sister is preparing for a naval blockade in the South and West Philippine Seas," Yamato explained. "I'm swamped with work and don't have the time to guide you. However, you can ask Big Sister Musashi for assistance. She has extensive experience with those weapons."

(ARP)Shinano's disappointment was evident. "I see," she replied.

(ARP)Yamato smiled. "Don't worry, Shinano. Once I'm done with my tasks, I'll show you how to wield your Super weapons."

Shinano nodded in agreement.

Yamato contacted her sister, Musashi, who appeared on a monitor.

(ARP)Musashi: "What do you require?" Musashi asked.

(ARP)Yamato: "Musashi, could you train our younger sister to use her weapons? You're the only one besides me who knows them," Yamato requested.

(ARP)Musashi: "Of course. Where should we train her?" Musashi inquired.

(ARP)Yamato: "The Azur Lane Naval Base would be optimal, but keep your distance during training," Yamato suggested.

(ARP)Musashi: "Understood, Shinano. We'll train at the Azur Lane Naval Base. Is that clear?" Musashi addressed Shinano with a smile.

(ARP)Shinano nodded subserviently. "Yes, big sister."

From afar, Yamato and her fleets spotted the island of Hawaii, home to the Pearl Harbor Naval Base. The Azur Lane Naval Base emerged through a dimensional rift during the Silver Eye Incident.

This base accommodates shipgirls from the Eagle Union and Royal Navy, alongside fleets from the United States and Canadian navies.

Unlike other naval bases, this one resembles an urban center, boasting the feel of a bustling coastal city.

Subsequent to the Silver Eye Incident, Black Tusk expunged all evidence of the base from maps and designated it a Restricted Area, concealing the multiverse-related activities that transpired there.

Information about the Factions.

Azur Lane and Crimson Axis (or Red Axis in the anime) are factions based on the Allies and Axis Powers of World War II, which the Allied forces consisted of the United States (Eagle Union), Great Britain (Royal Navy), China (Dragon Empery), the Soviet Union/USSR (Northern Parliament) and Non-occultly France (Iris Libre), while the Axis power consisted of Nazi Germany (Iron Blood), Imperial Japan (Sakura Empire), Fascist Italy (Sardegna Empire) and occupied France (Vichya Dominon). During the Great War (World War I), both factions served under the banner of Azur Lane and successfully pushed back the Sirens' onslaught.

--

Ashigara, Haguro, and Nachi watched in awe as they approached the Azur Lane base at Pearl Harbor.

(ARP)Ashigara: "Girls, look!" exclaimed Ashigara. "It's an Azur Lane base! And look, there's...it's...Aaaaa, um???"

(ARP)Haguro: "Ha, the Azur Lane base looks so weird," said Haguro. "And there are so many ships!"

(ARP)Ashigara: "Yeah, wait, is that an A-150 Super Yamato class battleship?" exclaimed Ashigara. "And a Montana class battleship too??"

(ARP)Nachi: "I think so," replied Nachi. "Also, look at that Supercarrier right over there next to Montana. It's longer than Lady Shinano's ship."

(ARP)Haguro: "Yeah...Yeah..." said Haguro. "But do you think this Supercarrier has a chance of winning against Lady Shinano's carrier?"

(ARP)Ashigara: "Nope," said Ashigara. "Lady Shinano can easily destroy a WW2 Supercarrier by just using Corrosive Warhead torpedoes."

(ARP)Nachi:"Ashigara is right," said Nachi. "There's no way an Azur Lane ship can easily destroy us. We're more dangerous than the Sirens. They can't even use missiles!?"

(ARP)Ashigara: It's hilarious how those enemy ships got taken out so easily by a World War II-era vessel. Despite having more advanced technology, they were still no match for our firepower.

(ARP)Haguro: Indeed. Their reliance on their rigging makes them vulnerable when they can't use it. Imagine how helpless they'd be if we stripped them of their rigging capabilities.

(ARP)Ashigara: They'd become sitting ducks, perfect targets for our missiles and corrosive torpedoes. It would be like shooting fish in a barrel.

(ARP)Haguro: Yes, I'm still amazed that there's an A-150 super Yamato-class!

(ARP)Ashigara: Indeed.

(ARP)Nachi: Haguro, Ashigara! Lady Yamato has ordered us to stop 10.24 kilometers from the harbor.

(ARP)Ashigara: Why is that?

(ARP)Nachi: I'm not sure, but only Saint Paul will be entering the harbor with her.

(ARP)Ashigara: Will Lady Yamato enter as well?

(ARP)Nachi: Yes, she'll accompany Saint Paul while her ship remains here.

(ARP)Haguro: Why can't Lady Yamato bring her ship there too?

(ARP)Nachi: I don't know, but it's for the best. If the enemy attacks, Lady Yamato and Saint Paul can easily escape the harbor.

(ARP)Haguro: I understand.

Time skip

Now, the Fleet of Fog halted at 10.24 kilometers from the harbor. Yamato leaped towards the Saint Paul Ship, and once she landed on deck, Saint Paul greeted the Supreme Flagship. Meanwhile, the three Kansen observed her. They had expected Yamato's Mental Model to resemble that of the Sakura Empire Kansens, but they were mistaken. Yamato was adorned in a white dress, long white gloves, and a white bow in her hair.

(ARP)Saint Paul: "Greetings, Supreme Flagship Yamato, welcome aboard my ship. Allow me to introduce you to my companions: the aircraft carrier Enterprise (CV-6), the light cruiser Cleveland, and the destroyer Laffey."

Enterprise and her comrade greeted Yamato. Yamato surveyed the Azur Lane Kansens before her, a slight smile gracing her lips.

(ARP)Yamato: "Hello, Azur Lane Kansens," Yamato addressed them. "I am Yamato, First of the Yamato-class super Battleships, Supreme Flagship, and Admiralty Code of the Fleet of Fog."

As Yamato concluded her greeting, the Kansens were taken aback by her voice. Saint Paul noticed their surprise.

(ARP)Saint Paul: "What's wrong?" Saint Paul inquired. "Why do you look so shocked?"

As Enterprise and her companions entered the harbor, she communicated with the Supreme Flagship Yamato, also known as the Admiralty Code of the Fleet of Fog.

"Yamato," Enterprise began, "your voice sounds similar to Akagi's, but slightly lower in pitch."

Cleveland added, "Yes, Enterprise is correct. Why do you sound like her?"

Yamato giggled. "I don't know what you are talking about, girls. I have never met her."

Saint Paul spoke up. "Perhaps it's simply a coincidence that her voice resembles Akagi's from the Sakura Empire."

"I suppose so," Enterprise said apologetically. "I apologize for any confusion, Supreme Flagship."

Yamato smiled. "Don't worry about it. Look, someone is waiting for us on the dock."

They gazed upon the dock, where Ayane, Hornet, and Prince of Wales awaited their arrival. Ayane's joy at seeing Saint Paul again was evident, but her gaze lingered on a figure standing by - a woman adorned in a flowing white dress, elegant gloves, and a matching bow in her hair.

As Saint Paul's vessel docked at the port, they disembarked to be greeted by Commander Ayane. Yamato, the woman in white, stared intently at Saint Paul, her eyes filled with a desire to strike. This did not sit well with Saint Paul.

"Commander," Saint Paul addressed Ayane firmly, "cease staring at my High Flagship."

Ayane responded apologetically, "Forgive me, Saint Paul. Let us discuss this further in my office."

Saint Paul nodded in agreement. "Very well, High Flagship. Lead the way."

Yamato gave a slight nod, and together they made their way towards the main building. As they passed by, they observed the numerous Manjuu crews waddling about, diligently assisting shipgirls with logistics and repair work in the drydock.

Among the onlookers, many were taken aback by the reappearance of Saint Paul. However, beneath their surprise lay a wave of horror as their gaze shifted towards the horizon. A massive fleet, stretching an astonishing 10.24 kilometers, emerged from the distance.

Confusion washed over the Royal Navy contingent as they identified the approaching vessels: a King George V-class battleship and a Renown-class battlecruiser. Their eyes then fell upon a black-haired woman who stood among them, her gaze fixated on the Manjuus with a mixture of intrigue and curiosity.

Despite the looming threat of the approaching fleet, the Manjuus remained resolute in their duties. Their adorable demeanor and unwavering dedication drew admiration from all who witnessed them.

The 15-minute walk led them to the Commander's office. Upon entering, they sat on the couch while Commander Ayane took her seat.

"Greetings," Ayane began. "My name is Commander Ayane C. Caspian. Welcome to Pearl Harbor, the Eagle Union's Pacific HQ."

Yamato extended her hand to the Commander.

"Nice to meet you, Commander Ayane. I am Yamato, supreme flagship and Admiralty code of the Fleet of Fog."

Ayane and Prince of Wales were taken aback by Yamato's voice.

"Hold on, Lady Yamato," Ayane said. "Why does your voice sound like Akagi's from the Sakura Empire?"

"I'm not sure what you mean," Yamato replied. "This is my voice, synthesized by my quantum computer's."

"Apologies for the confusion," Ayane said.

(ARP)Yamato: Don't worry about it. It was a good try to convince Saint Paul to share her Fog technology with you. However, do you think your nation can easily copy our technology? You should know that in our original world, humanity has tried for almost seven years to copy our weapons, but they have failed to replicate or reverse-engineer the technology used by the Fleet of Fog. Copying the Fog warships' technology is futile because our creators designed it to be uncopyable by humans.

Ayane was shocked by how she knew this. She stared at the silver-haired Saint Paul, who looked away.

"Saint Paul," Ayane demanded, "did you reveal the US Government's plans to her?"

Saint Paul nodded.

"Why?" Ayane asked.

Before Saint Paul could respond, Yamato answered for him.

"Because she will be punished by me if she disobeys orders."

Ayane was stunned. "Is that true, Saint Paul?"

"Yes," Saint Paul admitted. "I cannot disobey orders, especially from the High Flagship herself."

Yamato added, "And if you're seeking assistance from the Fleet of Fog, my answer is no."

Commander Ayane was astounded by Yamato's knowledge. Yamato smiled and explained why the Fleet of Fog would not aid Azur Lane in their battle against the Red Axis.

Enterprise questioned Yamato, "Why is that, Lady Yamato?"

Yamato replied with a faint smile, "Enterprise, this conflict does not concern the Fleet of Fog. We will remain neutral in your fight against the Red Axis, as we are currently engaged in battle with the Japanese Imperial Navy near Vietnam.

Enterprise's fleet, consisting of Baltimore, Boston, Canberra, Quincy, Pittsburgh, and 15 Clemson-class destroyers, is escorting a cargo vessel to Vietnam. They are known as the Hellcat Fleet, led by Enterprise."

Ayane: Wait, you guys have Enterprise too?

(ARP)Yamato: Yes. Back to the main topic, while escorting the merchant vessels to Vung Tau, Vietnam, they were blocked by the Japanese Imperial Navy ships, mass-produced vessels. The Hellcat Fleet did not encounter Sakura Kansen.

Ayane: What happened then?

(ARP)Yamato: Since they wouldn't allow the Hellcat Fleet to enter Vietnamese waters, my Enterprise sent a message to the tactical network. Nachi received the message and passed it on to me. When I received it, I was shocked and had no choice but to order the Hellcat Fleet to sink those Imperial ships.

Ayane: How many casualties were there?

(ARP)Yamato: From Enterprise's report, there were significant casualties: 5 heavy cruisers, 3 light cruisers, and 6 destroyers were sunk to the bottom of the sea. Only 4 destroyers managed to escape. They just destroyed them without hesitation.

Ayane: Oh my! Are there any survivors floating in the sea?

(ARP)Yamato: Yes.

Ayane: How many survivors were rescued?

(ARP)Yamato: Two hundred thirty imperial sailors. They are now aboard merchant vessels as prisoners of war.

Ayane: I'm surprised they didn't put up a fight.

(ARP)Yamato: What do you mean? They witnessed something terrifying that day.

Ayane: (nervously) I see.

(ARP)Yamato: Well, I'll take my leave now.

Yamato rose from her seat and strode towards the door. As she approached the threshold, she paused and turned to face Commander Ayane, a wicked grin spreading across her lips.

(ARP)Yamato: "Oh, one more thing, Commander Ayane," Yamato drawled, her voice dripping with menace. "I must warn you that any aggression directed towards the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, or Australia will not be tolerated by the Fleet of Fog. Should your nation or the Red Axis dare to strike against these countries, the Fleet of Fog will swiftly retaliate with a declaration of war against both Azure Lane and the Red Axis.

"Furthermore, we will implement a rigorous naval blockade, effectively isolating all inhabited continents and islands from one another. Trust me, Commander, you and your nation will rue the consequences if you choose to provoke the wrath of the Fleet of Fog. I take my leave now. Farewell."

Yamato pushed open the door and exited, leaving Commander Ayane and the other Kansens in the office in a state of shock.

"This is bad," Ayane said with concern.

"I never imagined that those countries would be under the protection of the Fleet of Fog," Enterprise said.

"I wish they would do the same for our country," Cleveland muttered.

"Sadly, that will never happen," Enterprise replied.

"You guys are dismissed," Ayane said. "I need to report this back to the mainland."

The other Kansens nodded. "Understood, Commander," they said in unison.

As the commanders departed, leaving Ayane alone to ponder how she would report this situation, a training session was underway far from the harbor. Musashi, a seasoned commander from the Crimson Red Fleet, guided Shinano in mastering her formidable arsenal. For nearly 40 minutes, the drill had tested Shinano's abilities with her 20 super Graviton Laser Oscillation Beams, Gravity Distortion Sea, and Wave-Force Armor Flight Deck Shield.

The Kansens witnessed the spectacle with awe, while the Fleet of Fog stood by as observers. Howe continued to indulge in her favored television program, eliciting laughter. The other Mental Models, however, found themselves perplexed, their faces beaded with sweat.

(ARP)Ashigara: "She's unhinged!" exclaimed Ashigara.

(ARP)Hunter: "Is she still glued to that television?" inquired Hunter.

(ARP)Jupiter: "Let her be," replied Jupiter apathetically. "It's inconsequential."

(ARP)Fubuki: "Lady Yamato, is she alright?" Fubuki raised concerns.

"Yes," Yamato affirmed.

Meanwhile, Javelin observed Repulse meticulously cleaning her ship. "Lady Repulse has been at it for two days now," she sighed.

(ARP)Jupiter: Her mental models are maid-like, or maybe she's a Battlecruiser Maid.

(ARP)Javelin: Haha, good one, sister.

(ARP)Haguro: Those Kansens on the dock are staring at our ship. I don't like it.

(ARP)Ashigara: Yes, for some reason, I want to blow them to smithereens right now.

(ARP)Battler: Yeah.

(ARP)Haguro: The only problem is that we're not allowed to attack them.

(ARP)Ashigara: I wish a Siren fleet would just appear in front of the Azur Lane base so I could destroy them.

(ARP)Nachi: Ashigara, stop thinking like that. We're not here to do that, or we'll be in big trouble.

(ARP)Ashigara: Sorry, hehehe.

(ARP)Nachi: (Sigh) Oh, my little sister.

(ARP)Fubuki: Hey, Ayanami.

(ARP)Ayanami: Yes?

(ARP)Fubuki: Do you want to play a game with me?

(ARP)Ayanami: What kind of game?

(ARP)Fubuki: How about holographic chess?

(ARP)Ayanami: Sure, why not?

As Ayanami stepped aboard her sister ship, Fubuki, a playful smile spread across her face. The two Mental Models giggled excitedly as they booted up their favorite game, their fingers dancing across the controllers with unmatched speed and precision.

Unbeknownst to them, their antics were being observed by Nachi, whose eyes sparkled with amusement. The heavy cruiser couldn't help but marvel at the bond between the sisters, their laughter echoing through the ship's halls.

Meanwhile, aboard the mighty battleship Yamato, the flagship watched over her sisters' training with a sense of pride. Her massive guns glinted in the sunlight as she surveyed the scene before her. But her thoughts soon drifted to another Mental Model, one who held a special place in her heart.

(ARP)Yamato: "Mental Models are certainly adorable," Yamato murmured to herself. "Not as adorable as Shinano when she was young, but still very charming."

Suddenly, she was interrupted by the voice of Javelin, the high-spirited destroyer who always managed to make her smile.

(ARP)Javelin "High Flagship," Javelin protested, "I must object! Are you implying that we are inferior in cuteness to your little sister?"

(ARP)Yamato's eyes twinkled with mischief. "Well, perhaps," she replied. "Do you doubt my judgment, Javelin?"

(ARP)Javelin pouted. "Of course not, High Flagship. But I'm certain that I am cuter than your precious Shinano."

(ARP)Yamato chuckled. "If you insist, I will allow you to see her for yourself. I have a way of communicating with her via quantum link."

(ARP)Javelin's eyes widened in surprise. "Really? I would be delighted to meet your younger sister!"

And so, Yamato initiated the quantum communication, sending a vivid image of the young and adorable Shinano to Javelin's Mental Model processor.

As an image flashed across their minds, it sent shockwaves through their very beings, especially Javelin. The images depicted multiple snapshots of Shinano as a young girl, with a young boy standing protectively behind her.

(ARP)Nachi: "Oh my, would you look at that," Nachi exclaimed, her voice laced with surprise.

(ARP)Ashigara: "This is a serious problem!" Ashigara declared, her tone laced with alarm.

(ARP)Javelin stared at the images, her mind reeling in disbelief. "Gah... GahGahGah," she uttered, her voice trembling.

(ARP)Haguro: "High Flagship," Haguro inquired, her voice laced with concern, "who is that boy behind Lady Shinano?"

(ARP)Yamato's voice, calm and collected, filled the air. "Well, that boy is me."

Their astonishment grew as they realized that their Supreme Flagship, the Admiralty code of the Fleet of Fog, was not a female as they had always believed, but a male.

(ARP)Haguro: "How?" Haguro asked, her voice tinged with disbelief.

(ARP)Ashigara:"Are you ready for this, our High Flagship?" Ashigara questioned, her voice filled with anticipation.

(ARP)Yamato: "I will tell you," Yamato replied, "but keep this a closely guarded secret."

"Hai," Haguro affirmed.

(ARP)Yamato's voice lowered as he revealed a profound truth. "To tell you the truth, I am not a female. I am a boy who reincarnated as the Supreme Flagship and Admiralty code of the Fleet of Fog."

A stunned silence fell over the group.

(ARP)Haruro: "Wait," Haguro uttered, her mind struggling to comprehend this revelation, "Supreme Admiralty code?"

(ARP)Yamato: Yes, she's the one who reincarnated me into this world, giving me a second chance to live and care for all of you. That was her last command to me.

(ARP)Haguro: I see. So your mission is to take care of us Fog warships. How did you and your sister pass away?

(ARP)Yamato: Yes. As for our deaths, it was simple. I died in a truck accident, while my little sister died of cancer.

(ARP)Haguro: Lady Yamato, my condolences. Thank you for caring for us.

(ARP)Yamato: (smiles) No problem. It's my duty after all.

Haguro exited the tactical network, her gaze fixed on the vast expanse of the sea. From her position, she could observe the Saint Paul ship arriving at the dock. A flock of Manjuus, their feathers a vibrant yellow, hovered around the vessel, their eyes intently studying its weapons. The Manjuus seemed baffled by the ship's inner workings, desperately attempting to replicate its design. Yamato couldn't help but chuckle, knowing all too well that the Fog warships' technology was beyond the grasp of others.

Suddenly, a holographic screen flickered into existence before Yamato, Shinano's face projected upon it.

(ARP)Shinano: "Big sister," Shinano began, her voice filled with excitement, "my training is complete. I have mastered the Super Graviton Laser Oscillation Beam, the Gravity Distortion Sea, and the Wave-Force Armor Flight Deck Shield."

(ARP)Yamato's lips curled into a smile. "Excellent, Musashi," she replied.

(ARP)Musashi's face appeared alongside Shinano's. "Yes, sister?" she inquired.

(ARP)Shinano: "Thank you for guiding our sister in the use of her weapons," Yamato expressed her gratitude.

(ARP)Musashi: "It was our pleasure, sister," Musashi responded with a slight smile. "We are family, after all. It is our duty to support one another."

(ARP)Yamato nodded in agreement. "Indeed," she uttered.

Amidst the bustling activity at Hashirajima Base, the Fog carrier Akagi and the Fog repair ship Akashi embarked on a routine inspection of the facility. Their sharp eyes scrutinized every corner, ensuring that supplies were ample and preparations were proceeding smoothly.

Meanwhile, Fog warships Kongo and Fog submarine I-402 set sail for a diplomatic mission. Their destination was Malacañan Palace, where they were scheduled to meet with the President of the Philippines. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the increasing presence of the Imperial Japanese Navy in the nearby waters off Vietnam.

As the meeting commenced, tension hung in the air. The Philippine President expressed concern over the potential threat posed by the Japanese naval force. Kongo and I-402 presented their perspectives, emphasizing the Fog's commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the region. They stressed that their presence was not intended as an act of aggression, but rather as a deterrent against any provocative actions by the Japanese.

The meeting progressed, with both sides carefully weighing the implications of the situation. Eventually, an agreement was reached. The Fog warships would patrol the waters near Vietnam, keeping a watchful eye on the Japanese ships. They would refrain from any overt action unless absolutely necessary. In return, the Philippines pledged its support for the Fog's mission of maintaining peace in the region.

As the meeting concluded, a sense of relief washed over the participants. A potentially dangerous situation had been averted through diplomacy and mutual understanding. The Fog warships Kongo and I-402 returned to Hashirajima Base, where they reported their successful mission to their superiors.

Battleship Kongō

Kongō is the "Fog" reincarnation of the Kongō-class WWII battleship Kongō. She has purplish markings on her hull. All three of her sisters - Kirishima, Haruna and Hiei - have made their appearance in the manga.

As a battleship, Kongō has a huge arsenal at her disposal: a number of Photon cannons, 30 torpedo tubes, over one hundred missile launchers and a Super-Graviton Cannon with four gravity-focusing units. In the manga, she can also use Flagship equipment; hers allows to summon union cores of subservient vessels and prints new hulls for them with locally-available nano-materials.

Kongō is the second known flagship of the First Oriental Fleet. She replaced Hyuuga on this position after Hyuuga was sunk by I-401 and deserted from the "Fleet of Fog".

Mental Model

Battleship Kongō has one Mental Model that appears to be a girl in her late teens. She has very long pale-blonde hair made into two spiky buns with two long locks framing her face. She has pale skin, further accentuated by the pale blue lipstick she wears, and crimson eyes. Her clothes consist of a dark purple ballgown with long train and dark pantyhose.

Kongō appears to have an apathetic personality. She has no known hobbies and has shown a minimal amount of emotions. However, it is known that she doesn't like diving underwater (as she can use only torpedoes and Super-Graviton Cannon there) and can somehow communicate with the seagulls that are always seen around her.

While Kongō is unwilling to get her own hands dirty, when she does do something, she goes all out. This is shown in the anime with her single minded obsession with killing Chihaya, as well as an attachment to her subordinate, the heavy cruiser Maya, to the point where the Fog decide she is rogue and attempt to lock her down. Even when it's revealed Maya's mental model is an observation program spying on her, her attachment doesn't seem to wither, choosing to fuse with Maya instead of losing her(and for the huge boost in power). It is interesting to note that the reformed Kongō keeps Maya's piano on her deck as further proof of the bond they shared.

Eventually, Iona manages to come into contact with Kongō and, in so doing, modify her behavior, causing her to defect from the Fog and side with Iona, if not humanity as a whole, though she still refuses to join Chihaya's fleet, instead roaming the oceans by herself, but promising to "invite Iona over for tea sometime".

Role : manga

While Kongō is one of the first "Fog" vessels to make her appearance in series, until recent chapters Kongō only played a role of an observer. There, Kongou decides that she herself should deal with the problem that is I-401. Originally, Kongō intended to leave Hiei as an acting flagship of her fleet, but Hiei decided that she should be Kongō's escort and the role of acting flagship fell onto Ise.

During the initial stages of the battle against I-401 Kongō remained in the rear of her fleet, where she worked on deploying her Flagship equipment with some assistance from repair vessels led Akashi. That however left her quite vulnerable to enemy attacks and had not Ashigara taken that hit for her, Kongō might have actually been sunk... Once her Flagship equipment was deployed, Kongou began summoning a number of submarines (I-19, I-22, possibly others) to assist her fleet in hunting the now-wounded I-401 down.

However, the Kongō is new free from the Flagship Equipment, removed from the scene by Akashi, and has now changed her target to the Matsushima II, which has Chihaya Gunzou inboard. She kept underway to avoid being sniped by the option ships.

That, however, worked only until Gunzou and Iona took away her (and her fleet's) natural buoyancy by exploiting an underwater deposit of methane hydrates: unable to move, Kongō wasn't able to stop I-401 from hitting her with warplane-carried Corrosive Warhead Torpedoes. It is not clear, whether that attack was fatal or merely crippling, but Kongō still took heavy damage. Not to go down alone, though, she snipes Matsushima II with her normal cannons.

When that doesn't work, she takes control over her broken off prow and fires Corrosive Warhead Torpedoes at sinking Matsushima II. When that fails to do Chihaya Gunzou, partially because of Yukikaze's intervention, she rams whatever is left of her hull into Matsushima II.

But beside the idea of Kongō killing Chihaya Gunzou she saved him and brought him to Choukai and explained to her that she saved Gunzou because she heard a voice telling her that some future is there and Gunzou is the key.

Role : anime

In anime Kongō still holds her position of the First Oriental Fleet flagship. And up until the battle between I-401 and Kirishima and Haruna in Yokosuka, she was acting almost identically to her manga counterpart. However, when it became clear that her two sister battleships had defected from the "Fleet of Fog", Kongō becomes obsessed with removing the abnormalities - namely, she wanted to sink I-401 and kill Chihaya Gunzou.

Her first attempt was when I-401 was leaving Iwo Jima, however, Hyuuga managed to hack Kongō and prevented her from destroying I-401 with a shot from Super-Graviton Cannon. I-401 then disappeared via Burst mode (only to be intercepted by I-400 and I-402 later).

Kongō's rather emotion-driven attack had resulted in her being stripped of her flagship status locked down by I-400 and I-402, however she managed to break the lock down and, after absorbing Maya and a few light cruisers, she made her second attempt to sink I-401.

Kongō's berserk mode inside view

However, when she - now operating a construct looking more like the Death Star from Star Wars than anything else - caught up with I-401, said submarine being about to engage in combat with American "Fleet of Fog". In order to remove the possibility of any of those ships defecting to I-401's side, Kongō obliterated them all with her overpowered Super-Graviton Cannon, before turning it against I-401 herself.

Since Kongō had cut herself from the Joint Tactical Network, in order to contact her, someone needed to establish a direct link with her core. In other words, someone needed to come all the way up to Kongō's 'deck' and touch her Mental Model. Iona volunteered to do that.

Iona had been successfully delivered to Kongō's 'deck' and actually managed to tag her core. However, Kongō had built a powerful defenses around her 'heart', so Iona needed a lot of time to break through. And while she was fighting against those defenses, Iona also had to fight against Kongō's Mental Model in the real world. This fight was one-sided and Kongō totally dominated it. In the end, she managed to pin Iona against the Super-Graviton Cannon and prepared to fire.

That was when Iona finally managed to break through the defenses around Kongō's core in the virtual world. Once able to come in contact with Kongō's self, Iona, wishing to help her, proceeded to comfort the crying battleship. And accepting this, Kongō ceased her attacks in the real world.

Following her 'defeat', Kongō accepted Iona's friendship, but chose to return to her patrols around Japan instead of accompanying I-401 to San Diego.

It is interesting to note that the reformed Kongou keeps Maya's piano on her deck.

In the Cadenza film, a completely remodeled Kongō turns up at the last moment to save the damaged I-401 from being sniped by Hiei's Super-Graviton cannon. She deflects Hiei's shot with her own cannon and then charges at flank speed, opening her own cannon and bringing her own upper hull down onto Hiei's deck. The two sisters then engage in a massive firefight which enables the I-401 to get through Hiei's defenses and fight Musashi.

In the film, she is now wearing a different dress and her hair is in a different style, although she is still wearing the pale blue lipstick.

First Appearance

I-402 is a "Fleet of Fog" submarine and a personal guard and attendant of the supreme flagship Yamato.

Submarine I-402

Mental model

I-402 has one Mental Model. She appears to be a girl in her early teens with white (greenish in anime) hair and green eyes. Her build is very similar to that of Iona or I-400, which is a bit surprising, considering that the other known sets of 'sisters' all look completely different.

The clothes that I-402 is wearing vary as she often falls prey to Yamato's bouts of fashion designing. However, it appears that she prefers purplish and pinkish colors with blue or yellow details.

I-402 is polite and loyal to Yamato; she will readily jump in front of Yamato to protect her from threats. She's a bit more talkative than her sisters and when partnered with I-400, she does most of the talking. I-402 is a bit more independent, and she did help Takao and I-401 later during their confrontation with U-2501 of her own accord. She also did save Takao's core and was left from her Mental Model following that battle as she thought it was the right thing to do. However, I-402 will never do anything that would endanger Yamato's plans.

Role : manga

In the early chapters I-402, along with her sister I-400, are sent to confront Takao who had just deserted the "Fleet of Fog". They managed to track her down in the capital of Northern region, however, they deemed her to no threat to the fleet at the moment and allowed her to live.

After that, for some time the two sisters were shifted into tracking down the recently-reappeared Admiralty Code, however, this mission was soon aborted. While I-400 was ordered to tail heavy cruiser Maya with Haruna and Kirishima inboard, I-402 remained with Yamato for some time. When Takao was attacked by U-2501, I-402 took it upon herself to guide I-401's active decoy and she also supplied Takao with surveillance data. She also helped I-401 by providing her with Milchkuh's coordinates.

After Takao was sunk, I-402 went ahead and rescued her core and what remained of her Mental Model. She also informed I-401 via quantum communication network that she did pick Takao's core in order to keep her wayward sister away from the potentially dangerous region with unstable spatial anomalies.

After Takao was revived, Yamato made I-402 her warden. As such I-402 had dragged Takao along when she was sent to deliver a message to Assault and Supression vessel Zuikaku. They all disappeared for a time, but most recently I-402 and Takao were seen in Yokosuka city. During that time, I-402 mostly plays the role of a 'team mom', doing housework and such. She's surprisingly good at it too.

Using the experience in communicating with humans that was acquired by various Mental Models - though, still, mostly by I-401 - I-402 is bargaining with local people quite successfully... Or, at least, she is much better at hiding her true nature than Haruna had been. Eventually, after learning that the Japanese government knows, or at least suspects, that she is from the "Fleet of Fog", I-402 decided to initiate an open contact with humans. Yamato gives a mostly-silent approval.

Along with her sister, I-400, I-402 has a long-term mission that is collecting the information about the Admiralty Code for Yamato.

Relationships

Yamato - The supreme flagship of the "Fleet of Fog" is I-402's mistress and commander.

I-400 - I-402's sister and her partner on many missions. They have joined cores; supposedly this makes them more dangerous when they are together.

I-401 - I-402's, other, rebellious sister. I-402, though, will help her and her fleet if she thinks that this will further Yamato's plans.

Takao - I-402 is tasked with keeping an eye on her following her battle against U-2501 and her seehund drone submarines.

Zuikaku - she, I-402 and Takao were sent to Yokosuka by Yamato to prevent Haruna and co from learning the truth about the Facility #4 Fire.
