Chapter 3
Orko was now at his graduation party. It was also for Snoob too. Squonge's party was going to be later in the week.
"I can hardly believe it Orko is now a fully trained wizard with a mage emblem," Ilyne said. "It seems just like yesterday he was a cute little baby," she said.
"I know what you mean," Unzo said. "You sure were crying when he was born Malek," he said.
"I was not I had something in my eyes," Malek said.
"Yes tears," Jeku said.
"I also recall you using my cloak as a tissue," Zelmra said.
"That was 17 years ago," Malek snapped.
"But I am still upset that you would think about using my cloak as tissue instead of using your own hanky or cloak!" Zelmra said rather annoyed.
"Well at least I have my arms stills," Malek said.
"Hey!" Zelmra said.
"Both of you stop it!" Fresa said. "You two still go at it like snail cats and hedge dogs." she said.
"Yes this is no time for you two be arguing," Devero said. "This is a time were we need to be grateful that our good friends kids have graduated." he said.
"Devero has point," Xana said. "Now both of you put aside this petty bickering," she said. "I know both of you will do anything to help the other, because you two are close friends," she said.
"Fine," Malek and Zelmra said.
"Yes it is also hard to believe that Snoob is now 17 too," Montork said.
"I know, it seems just like yesterday that very poor Trollan couple dressed in rags handed Snoob over to us an hour old infant in a blanket made of rags," Esso said. "But he was okay when we told him he was adopted." she said. "He knows how much he is love," she said.
Orko and Snoob were telling stories of their adventures. They had their friends there too. "That is how I stopped a corrupting mold outbreak," Orko said.
"Cool," the little kids.
"Gross stuff," one little girl said.
"I am glad it didn't get on you Orko I don't want you to be bad," a little girl with big curls said.
"Nasty stuff for sure," said a friend name Javoil who had majesty sun. He was couple of years older than Orko and Snoob but was still their friend. "But I am impressed that Orko had the skill, but then again given that he is such a prodigy I shouldn't be surprised," he said. "I would be impressed if Orko got it on himself and managed to get it off himself without help. That would be sight to behold," he said.
"Yes and it would be a great verse for the Ballad," Timsi a young song mage friend of theirs said.
"What ballad?" the little girl with big curls asked.
"It is a song that tells of all that the ringbearers have done and how amazing they are," Timsi said. "It goes like this," she said.
Ringbearer Azron the oracle of old. Cosmic secrets and visions he did behold. He helped forge a legendary sword. Joined the masters of the universe to fight against the horde. He faced off against the unnamed one. As goes the story of the great Azron.
"Wow that is impressive." one little boy said.
"Mr. Azron did a lot," the little girl with big curls said.
"Yes but when Trolla needed him he vanished," another little boy said.
"He didn't vanish kids, after the death of the champion of Eternia and all the problems the Forbidden one caused for the rest of the universe, he exiled himself to Eternia and was never heard from again and it was his and all of Trolla's agreement that Trolla be blocked off." Javoil said.
"Maybe someday Trolla's borders will reopen and we can set our peoples way and relationships with other planets right," Snoob said.
"Well I think we can now that was have ringbearer among us," Squonge said.
"Squonge," Orko said feeling a bit uncomfortable. "But I wonder what other worlds are like to be honest," he said.
"Now let's sing about the other ringbearers," Snoob said.
"Now let's sing together!" Timsi said.
Ringbearer Foosabella went on quest, in hopes that the civil wars to rest. Earning the first of mage emblems. Her powers and diplomacy ended mayhem. She'd gone on to continue her great accords. as the ringbearing leader of the new overlords.
"I recall her disappearing too," Snoob said. "from what I remember they all did," he said.
"Let's get back to the song," Timsi said.
Ringbearer Ero-Dee cast spells with song. But the unnamed order sought to do him wrong. Swallowing his fear he created song spells. To fight the evil of their destroying angels. To protect our way of life was his big aim. And now from mountain tops we shout his name.
"Ero-Dee!" they heard from the other side of the room.
"That yodeler has got good timing," Orko said feeling a bit better. Snoob, Squonge and Javoil proceed to laugh.
Ringbearer Vana flew out into space. She saw herself as a failure and a disgrace. Throughout our dimension, many worlds she befriended. Ways to good relations with Trolla were wended. Bad luck turned good, and she was called the girl who breathed in space and friend to all.
"That is neat, I bet Orko could make friends with people other planets," said a little boy.
"Yes Orko is great at making friends," Snoob said.
"I don't know," Orko said feeling nervous again.
"Guys the song," Timsi said.
Ringbearer Masde had a mysterious friend who helped her spark the unnamed order's end. Captured the wicked to end the campaigns of terror. The misguided redeemed by this ringbearer. With her kindness she'd become a guiding light. Beyond the point of her great sacrifice.
"But no one knows if she survived or died, she just vanished as the eruption stopped. Any Trollan who gives up their magic doesn't vanish into thin air the body would still be around," Snoob said. "I should know my father said he seen a defender from another chapter do it and they took the body to his loved ones." he said.
"I remember my dad telling me that too he was there," Orko said.
"Too bad we can't sing anything about Orko right now," the little girl with big curls said.
"Yes he just got his mage emblem it might take sometime before he does anything really great," a little boy said.
"Yes I think he should get cracking on it. Because I don't know how long these kids can wait," Javoil said.
"Please stop," Orko said. "I am still trying to get used to the thought of being a ringbearer." he said.
"Sounds like someone is already feeling the pressure." a cousin whispered to Snoob.
"I heard that!" Orko said. "And you're right," he said.
"Don't worry you don't have to hurry," Squonge said. "Besides you can find time to do things that are great," he said.
"I sure hope so," Orko said.
Orko's family was watching. "I wonder how he is going to deal with the pressure," Unzo said. "Orko isn't one who thrives under pressure." he said.
"You are right about that dear," Ilyne said. "Maybe it will help instead of everyone pushing him they encourage him instead," she said.
"That makes a lot of sense to me," Esso said. "After all he's young," she said. "He has plenty of time to figure it out." she said.
Orko was at home soon and wondering about how he could be ringbearer that could live up to his predecessors.
Orko was sleeping in bed and he was dreaming. He found himself in a swampy area. He didn't recognize it. It wasn't anywhere on Trolla that was for sure. He was wondering where he was. Then he heard something it was call for him. He saw a little boy and his pet in trouble. Orko knew he had to do something and tried everything he could to pull the boy out and finally managed to do so. The boy thanked him and kitten licked him. "Thank you," the boy said. "I can't wait to meet you," he said.
"Meet me? We just met," Orko said.
"I can't wait to meet you," the boy said.
That is when Orko woke up. He saw the sun was up. Orko was eating his breakfast and thinking. "Something on your mind son?" Unzo said.
"Just thinking about a dream I had that's all, I don't know whether or not it's important, I recall in my dream I save a boy of a species I never seen before in a place I didn't recognize and then the boy thanked me and said something that surprised me," Orko said. "I think it is nothing, you told me that dreams are just in my head and I shouldn't worry about it," he said.
"True but sometimes ringbearers like you sometimes have dreams about the future when asleep. Or hear parts of the future while meditating," Montork said. "But I doubt it's that because you just got your emblem," he said.
"I think things are just different," Orko said.
"True but try not worry about it," Ilyne said.
"Did you know your mage emblem can do interesting things. The magic from it is not from your magic pools but your own heart and soul?" Montork said.
"Yes it can do many things. The things it can do is as limitless as your imagination," Ilyne said.
"So it can do anything that can be a really neat trick or something that can help you in the future," Esso said.
"But it is also useful in battle, or when in danger and your magic is low or not working. It can help not only save your life but save others," Unzo said. "It is because the magic from it isn't powered by the magic pools like the rest of the body. So in those desperate times use your mage emblem. It could be your only chance." he said.
"Hey Snoob, want to go out after breakfast and see what we can do with our emblems?" Orko asked his cousin.
"I'm right behind you," Snoob said.
"Great," Orko said.
Once they finished eating Snoob and Orko went out back and began seeing what their emblems can do. It was pretty exciting. Orko was wondering if he could live up to the legacy that is predecessors left behind. But he could worry about that later.
