Hey everyone. Look I'm just going to say this now, things aren't looking great for this story for a bit. Nothing to be too concerned about, I'm not quitting it or anything like that, but as seems to be the routine for this story at this point this will be the last chapter for a while. Full details as to why will be at the end.

I'm really sorry to anyone who is invested in any way to this story as I am well aware of what it's like to have to wait for a writer to get off their ass and post already, but I hope that you will understand.

Eris – Thanks again for the compliment. Its nice to see the support from my most frequent reviewer. As usual you are very spot on with your prediction, I'm becoming less and less surprised by the uncanny accuracy of your comments.

RatkoB – Yes and then some. The exact nature of their relationship will be explored later.

SilentSnowLeopardNinja – There were a few hints here and there that were meant to show that there is something between the two of them beyond just enemies, nothing relationship level but enough to show that they have some kind of connection. (It should make sense later on.) If the certain things you are referring to is the moments between him and Jinx then there is no need, no one was recording any of that. If your talking about Beast Boy going savage then, yeah, no amount of data scrubbing or bribery will hide that from the public. It happened in broad daylight in the middle of a battle in the street.
Yeah, I absolutely LOVE utilizing BB's powers in an unusual or unique way. I think it makes it way more interesting, although I try to not go too far into the crazy stuff, I want to stay somewhat in reason and make sure that whatever I do either has some kind backing to it or is believable as something he could do. As for the Starfire bit I get what you mean but I think that even she would need a second to recover after something that bright, and a second is all Gizmo needed.

To anyone who might be curious, the reason I named Jinx Nicole as opposed to the other names I've seen people call her, such as Jenny, is because after a bit of digging I'm pretty sure that the original comic version of her character was named Nicole Diaz and I want to be as accurate as possible. Of course it is very possible that I'm wrong, but I'll be going with this until I am definitively proven wrong.

Disclaimer: Do I own own Teen Titans? No. Am I already tired of having to say this at the beginning of every chapter? Absolutely.

On with the story…

Chapter 6: Aftermath

Jinx walks through the doors of Hive Tower with an uncharacteristically serene smile on her face. Her talk with Beast Boy had gone on longer than either of them had realized, when they had checked the time, they until they found that they had been talking for over 2 hours. Deciding to stop and continue their conversation another day, Jinx gave the boy a quick goodbye before he shifted into an eagle and flew off.

The young sorceress felt slightly saddened as she watched her old friend leave. But she had to get home, so with a final glance at the green bird she made her way back to the Hive tower.

She entered the main door of the common room and walked over to the elevator to go down to her room. But as the doors were closing a green gloved hand stopped them and See-More entered the elevator.

"Hey there Jinx." He said flirtatiously.

"Hello See-More." Jinx dully responded with a bored look on her face.

The room became silent with only the faint sounds of the elevator as it made its decent down to sector 4, aka Jinx's room.

"So…" See-More began. "What did you think of my performance on the green elf, tore his arm clean off and brought his to his knees. I could have ended the freak right then and there."

Remaining outwardly indifferent Jinx suppressed a small shudder at the mention of the incident. "You could have killed him, not to sound all goody-goody or anything but I don't want to have the death of one of the city's heroes on my hands. The consequences for us could be disastrous, so next time you decide to get all hot-headed try to think about what's best for the team."

See-More's face turned slightly sour as his smile fell. "Oh really, well then can I ask you something?"

"Sure." She said as she raised her eyebrow, wondering what he was getting to.

"Before I blasted the goblin, I noticed that he was looking at the same alley you were hiding in. It even looked like he was staring directly at you. And the look in his eyes was odd, it seemed almost, longing. You wouldn't happen to know anything about why that would be the case would you?" See-More's eye narrowed slightly, and he crossed his arms as he awaited an answer.

Jinx was taken slightly off guard at the question. She wasn't aware that anyone had seen the little moment between her and Beast Boy. Wait. Since when was that a "moment". Argh! She thought that she was past this by now.

"No, I don't. Who knows what goes through that buffoon's head? Also, I don't appreciate that accusatory tone your using with me." She said, a little frustrated with the attitude that her teammate was using with her.

See-More's frustration turned to slight worry as the atmosphere became tense.

"Right, um, sorry." He whimpered submissively.

At long last the elevator stopped, and the doors opened with a ding.

"I'll be in my room for the night, don't bother me." Jinx said as she marched towards her door.

"Hey, uh I was thinking that we could-"

"No." Jinx said flatly as the elevator doors closed along with her own.

She went over and fell backwards onto her bed with a tired huff. She closed her eyes as she reminisced on the events of the day. Her thoughts immediately went to the incident during the fight.

See-More was right, if things hadn't gone the way they did then Beast Boy would probably be dead right now. She could still hear his screams echoing in her ears, see the blood pouring out of the wound that had been his arm.

This time she didn't even try to stop the shudder that made its way down her spine.

Thinking back on it she couldn't help but think that it might have been her fault. She had distracted the boy when their eyes locked.

When her thoughts began to once again drift back to the boy in question, she hardly tried to stop them.

Whatever remnants of the particular part of her past that pertained to the green boy had re-risen to the surface of her mind, even though she thought that she had buried them for good.

True, what happened back then had been entirely her choice, but that didn't mean that she wasn't affected by it. Those memories felt like a lifetime ago at this point, and she actually thought about them every time she looked back at her life.

A tired yawn stirred her from her thoughts and reminded her of how late it was. So she turned on her radio and laid down with her legs crossed and her hands resting behind her head, her thoughts briefly drifted back towards the green changeling as the station began to play, I Think I'm In Love by Kat Dahlia, before the radio was blasted to bits with one of her hexes.

"Looks like I'm going without the radio tonight."

LINE BREAK

Titans Tower

Beast Boy lands on the roof of the tower and shifts back before making his way to the elevator and heading down to the common room. Due to the late hour the team will be retired to their rooms for the night. As the doors open the green teen goes to the kitchen to get himself a midnight snack before going to bed himself.

"Where were you?"

"Aah!" Startled, he turns around to see none other than Robin, sitting on a convenient armchair that he doesn't remember being there this morning, staring at him with his signature scowl and his arms crossed.

"Dude! Don't scare me like that. You almost gave me a heart attack." The green teen said as he mock gripped his chest.

His leader's face didn't change as he continued to stare at him threw his domino mask. "I asked you a question."

Now, had it been under normal circumstances the changeling would have just given a straight answer and been done with it. This was not normal circumstances, for a variety of reasons.

So instead he took a different approach. "Why do you want to know? Am I not allowed to have a personal life without needing to tell you about it?"

Robin's glare intensified slightly as he clicked a button on the console. "To answer your first question…" he trailed of as he gestured to the monitor, which displayed Beast Boy entire battle from earlier that day. "That's why."

"As for your second question, after what happened today the fact that you just up and left the tower is something that I find suspicious. So I'll ask again, where were you?"

"I needed to clear my head, so I went for a flight around the city." His voice remained even yet with an underlying tone of agitation.

Robin frankly didn't believe anything the green teen said. He had kept valuable information from him and if there was one thing that he hated it was to not be fully informed. Especially by members of his own team.

"Why didn't you tell me about this? Why hide your capabilities from the team?"

Despite the newfound respect that he had made with his friend and leader, Beast Boy wasn't in the mood to answer any of his questions. Today had been a rough and stressful day, and he would much rather wait until tomorrow. So he remained silent and turned towards the door.

Unfortunately, that did not go over well with Robin.

"BEAST BOY! GET BACK HERE NOW!"

Said boy stopped in his tracks and glanced back over his shoulder towards his leader. Several moments of silence passed as neither moved nor said a word.

After what felt like an eternity, the younger of the two finally broke the silence. "I know that you want answers Robin, and I will be more than happy to give them to you. But its late, I'm tired, and in case you forgot," He gestured to his right arm. "I've had a rough day. So lets take this up tomorrow."

Without another word he continued out of the ops room and closed the door behind him.

Robin just stood there like a statue. He wanted to go demand answers right now, but his conscience, along with past experience in these types of situations, told him that it was best to just respect his friends wishes and call it a night. Some sleep might also give him time to mull this whole thing over and help decide how best to approach the subject.

With one last look at the monitor he turned it off and headed for his own quarters.

One thought continuously went through his mind as he went. Apparently, there was a lot about his teammate that he didn't fully understand, and more to him then meets the eye.

LINE BREAK

The next morning the Titans, plus Kid Flash who spent the night in the med bay to fully recover from his injuries, enter the common room for breakfast. Herald upon finishing the mission had returned to the Titans South the previous day.

As they all slowly trickled into the common room, the only one who seemed to be missing was their leader. It was very strange as he was almost always the first one up. The fact that he hadn't showed up even when Beast Boy joined them made it all the more unusual.

"Yo, B. Do you know where Rob is? It's not like him to be this late for breakfast." Cyborg asked.

The green skinned titan groaned as he rubbed his tired face. "I've got an idea, and if its correct then he'll calling me to his office any sec-" He was cut off by his communicator going off, just as he guessed. As he opened it, he was met with the ever-stoic face of his leader.

"Beast Boy, could you come meet me in my office, now." He said.

"Knew it." He says to his thoroughly confused teammates as he turns on his heel and makes his way to the traffic light leaders room.

As he enters, he sees Robin sat at his desk with his arms resting on the table in a stern manner. A seat on the other side closest to him is pulled out and obviously for him, so he sits down while resting one arm over the back.

"Alright, I gave you the night to rest, its time for you to tell me what I want to know. I wont be asking again." Robin said, wanting to get right to the point.

"Or what, you're going to put me in jail?" Beast Boy countered.

"Don't make this any harder than it needs to be Beast Boy, this isn't just an issue of you keeping the truth from me, it's an issue of trust."

At the end of that statement, the green teen's stare grew colder and more intense. "Are you really trying to talk to me about trust Dick."

Robin opened his mouth to retort, but he stopped himself. Beast Boy was right. He had no right to lecture him on trust, there were many times where he hid secrets from his teammates due to lack of trust, and just about all of them had ended badly. Red X, the race for his secret briefcase, and the Beast Incident were just a few examples of this.

"Your right, I'm sorry Gar." He said sincerely.

"We both have secrets Rob, all of us do, and should be allowed to come out with them at their own time. I'm not saying that I won't tell you anything, obviously I need to explain myself for that day, but there are things that I'm not ready to tell you guys yet. But I can promise that when I am ready you will be the first to know."

"Good to hear. Now then, lets get to the matter at hand."

Beast Boy took a deep breath and ran his hand threw his hair as he tried to think of the best way to explain this.

"When I get injured bad enough, like what happened yesterday, I have a pretty good healing factor. Normally I'd have Raven heal me or I'd shift into an animal for if it's serious enough. But yesterday, I had no other options. You guys were down, See-More was advancing on me, and I just… snapped. After that I got lost in the fight and let them have it." He explained.

"Okay, but that doesn't explain how you healed so fast. Your arm grew back in seconds." Robin said.

Beast Boy looked down at his arm, clenching it a bit before looking back up to Robin. "When I regrew my arm, I didn't necessarily heal it like I normally would. I definitely could heal from that kind of injury, but it would take more time. In my human form I could heal from things like gunshots or stab wounds in a matter of minutes, but something like my whole arm would take one of my regenerative animal forms at least a day or two."

Robin looked at him with a raised eyebrow in confusion.

"Then how did you do it?" He asked.

Beast Boy had to take another moment to think. This was all something that he understood intuitively. It was something engrained in his biology, as basic to him as your heartbeat. But trying to put the process into words was hard.

"I guess you could say that I forced it. I kind of, willed myself into regrowing it. I needed to take care of the villains and get everyone home so, yeah. Sorry, I don't know how to explain it in any way other than that."

"That's fine, I think I get the idea. It just surprised me to see you do all the things you did. I didn't know you were capable of it." Robin said.

At that Beast Boy gained a cocky smile and let out a laugh.

"Ha-ha, I've got more than a few tricks up my sleeve Rob."

The two were silent for a moment before Robin spoke up.

"You do know that this means I'll be upping your training schedule now right." He said with a smirk.

Beast Boy paled slightly at the thought of more training and harder drills. The two of them exited the office and made there way to the kitchen.

There was obviously going to be more to discuss. Robin wasn't exactly fond of not knowing things, especially if they concerned his teammates. But there had been enough drama in the last few days. A bit of down time would probably do them some good.

To Be Continued…

I know that this was more of a filler chapter, but I ran out of ideas and needed to cut it there. I'll pick it up next chapter. I'm not super proud of how the chapter was from when Beast Boy returned to the tower onward, so I think I might tweak it when I find a better way to put it.

IMPORTANT NOTICE!

With how 2020 went I was really expecting 2021 to be better, but for me at least, it's not gotten much better. A lot of things have absolutely hammered me mentally, emotionally, and physically.

To put it simply, I've been very stressed, busy, and unable to do much writing, but I felt that I needed to at least finish this chapter.

So as frustrating as it may be, I probably won't have any time for the next while to work on either of my main stories for a while, I say even though its already been 3 months already. I will try to get a one-shot and/or a short story or two out if possible but nothing major, and they won't always be Teen Titans stories as I have some other fandoms that I want to try. Hopefully, you can check them out and possibly find some enjoyment in them. But until I can free up some time and/or things get better this is the new way things will be going. Thanks a lot COVID.

Also I have run out of drive for this story so it will remain on hiatus.

With all that said I bid you all adieu.

Big thanks to all of you, especially the reviewers and other authors I've been chatting with from time to time, you make all this feel worth the effort.

To anyone who is interested, I have been working with DreamWorksDisneyFan2000 on his Star Wars Rebels story "Flynn Saga: Rebellion - Part 1". If that's something that might interest you then I encourage you to check it out.

That's all for now, I'll see you next time Titans...
