Yukiyukite Senshadou Rewrite

A few words before:

What if the last part of Yukiyukite ended differently? What if the tragedy wasn't the ending? As you know I love Yukiyukite. However, it doesn't mean that it doesn't have it's own faults. That's why I have decided to rewrite it how I originally intended for it to end. I will take some liberties and retcon some events but what is TK gonna do about it? Exactly. Also, I did not know it was based on Battle Royal until I saw the film. So get ready for your waifus to get it again and as many references as I can shove in XD

Chapter 1: A total different class

The girl didn't know if she was dead or not. There was nothing for her to see but total pitch-blackness. However, she felt a ringing in her head and her body was in agony. If this was death then it was painful.

As she lay on the floor she was brought around by the smell of thick smoke and could feel a burning sensation.

'Is this hell?' She thought to herself.

Her eyes opened with strain and her senses finally came to her. Her eyes saw the sight of a Stug III on fire above her. Her tank.

The surrounding fire in the building had singed her jacket and she quickly sat up to pat out the small fires on her. She took a breather to catch her breath when she noticed something from the burning wreck of the tank. Out of a hatch there was a burnt arm. Reaching out but limp. At that moment the memories of what happened moments prior came flooding back to her.

'That's it.' She said as if hunting her prey, 'Okay, just keep coming out like that…'

In front of her sights was the barrel of a King Tiger tank coming around a building. Her position was hulled down within a building that gave her and her other crewmember a good position to ambush them.

'What are you waiting for?' She called out in frustration, 'Come out already! I'm gonna hit tungsten into your flank!'

The tank barrel suddenly started reversing backwards the way it came. Slowly the barrel went back behind the building.

'Ah damn it!' She called out in frustration, 'They're moving back!'

Suddenly, unexpected to her a tank reappeared. However, rather than side on before, it was angled. Moving forward it knocked away part of the corner of the building and was directly down the street from them.

'Tsk!' She gritted her teeth at the sight of it.

'Erwin did they see us?!' Her crewmate called out.

'Who cares! We're at point blank! Fire, Saemonza!'

The barrel of the stug exploded as the shell travelled down the street making a direct hit with the tank.

'Hit!' The one called out.

'Did we kill it?'

'I don't know!'

'Leave your sights as it is, and fire again!' Erwin told her.

The stug fired another round sending smoke and a shell down the street.

'Again!' Erwin called out as she picked up another shell, 'Keep firing until we kill him!'

She used her fist to punch the next shell in to load the gun.

'3rd shot!' Her crewmate called out just before the gun fired again.

Another round was loaded as more smoke filled the street. At this point the enemy tank was covered completely.

'4th shot!' Her gunner called out as the shell whizzed down the street into the thick smoke that obstructed their view.

The pair waited with baited breaths as all the shells had been depleted from the tank. The smoke had covered the entire street, and nothing could be seen in sight.

The girl looked through her sights as her face sweated from the engagement to see what was left of the destroyed enemy tank.

However, to her shock, there came the grumbling sound of an engine and through the smoke a large tank had appeared in front of her.

She moved away from the sights in shock. Her eyes wide and her mouth agape. There was nothing she could do.

Her crewmate turned and looked at her looking for directions but with no answer.

'As I'd expected…' She cracked a small smile to herself, 'King Tigers are a totally different class…'

The gun of the enemy tank flashed white and that was the last thing she remembered.

She had moved herself up against the wall of the building as the fire raged and saw the arm still reaching out of the hatch.

She wondered how she was outside the tank and then remembered those final moments.

'Erwin!' her friend called out to her as she turned around.

Erwin seemed completely fazed and time seemed to have slowed down when her friend rushed to her and with all her force, she shoved her out of the hatch.

Erwin fell backwards as she saw her friend be engulfed in flames and then blackness.

No. Not a friend.

Her mind went back to the night before.

The hand that grabbed hers and the words her gunner told her.

'Erwin, can I come over there…?'

Erwin's eyes welled up and tears ran down her dirty face. Not because of the smoke or the fumes but because she realized that her comrade, her gunner, Saemonza, was dead.

'Check that building there!' A voice called out.

Erwin snapped back from it and looked at the door. They were here.

She grabbed a large piece of glass and stumbled up next to the door.

It opened as the person looked into the fire-raged room. She stepped forward and coughed at the smoke.

'It looks empt-'

Erwin lunged at her and knocked her to the floor. Her cap fell off her head towards the flames. There was a struggle between the two and the other person bit her hand causing it to bleed. However, she was able to get on top of the other girl and had the glass pointed down at her.

The other girl screamed and was able to push it away a few inches, but Erwin held it firm. The glass dug into her hands as she held it and blood dripped down onto the Kuromorimine girl. The anger over those who took her gunner away from her gave her the strength she needed.

'Let's stop! Let's stop! Let's stop!' The other girl called out desperately to her, 'Listen to me! Listen to me! Stop!'

Erwin pushed the glass shard closer to her chest.

'Stop! Don't…D-D-D…' But the rest of the words from the girl stopped as the shard pierced her uniform and plunged inside her.

She gurgled and frantically spasmed as Erwin stabbed her, but it was too late for her and she stopped breathing.

'Hiede? Is everything alright?' Her friend appeared from behind Erwin and asked through the smoke.

Erwin grabbed the fallen girl's MP40 and spun around spraying her accomplice with bullets as she fell to the ground dead.

She took some time to catch her breath and picked up her cap, saving it from the fire.

She didn't have long as the structure of the building started to creak, and it began to collapse. She put the gun on her shoulder and picked up the webbing before stumbling out of the building. She coughed and spluttered as she finally had fresh air to breathe on all fours. Behind her it had collapsed, and she turned around to see a pile of rubble, wood and fire.

Her eyes welled up again. She was sad her comrade died, but glad she survived.

The distant sound in the distance of tank noises, gunfire and explosions snapped her out of it. She wiped her tears and stood up on her feet.

She didn't know what to do. She didn't know who was alive. She was deep in enemy territory not knowing what was going on.

However, she suddenly heard yelling in the distance. It was as if someone was desperate, or their life was in danger. She could hear the words clearly plain as day.

'YUKARI! SAORI-SAN! GET OUT OF THERE RIGHT NOW!'
