"Plan 67: Extract the auditory hallucination known as Mylo from my brain and inflict it on the guards, who would all kill themselves within five minutes!" Jinx screamed and slammed her fist on the workbench.

"Now that is a top tier idea. I'd love to make enforcers kill themselves, especially seven years after you killed us," Mylo retorted.

"Would I go too?" Claggor asked.

"Sure, I'd love to have some space to stretch out my cramped little gray cells for a while."

She started pacing the blades of the repurposed giant ventilator. The closer I am to the edge, the sharper my thoughts become. She hadn't tried jumping the distance between them though. It was far, but with enough speed, will, and by leaping from near the core…

"Please, please try. If you fall like you did before you found the hex crystals, you'd still be saving Vi. It'd be by not killing her during the rescue attempt," he taunted.

Jinx let out a long breath, walked back to her workstation, and reconsidered her scribbles.

Plan 1: Blow up Stillwater after getting Vi into a bomb suit

Plan 2: Shoot up Stillwater after getting Vi into a ballistic vest

Plan 3: Bribe most guards in Stillwater

Plan 4: Fly an airship into Stillwater and escape in commotion

Plan 5: Interrogate Silco and get him to us his pull

Plan 6: Ask Sevika for help on the breakout

Plan 7: Disguise as guard and dress Vi as one too

Plan 8: Tunnel into Vi's cell

Plan 9: Create a prison riot and escape in commotion

Plan 10: Forge release papers for Vi

Plan 11: Make a plea to the Council for amnesty

Her eyes were starting to glaze over after these hours of plans and imagined arguments.

"Of course you're losing focus. These ideas would make anyone want to think of something else," Mylo belittled.

Plan 23: Release animals in zoo and escape in commotion

Plan 24: Kidnap a Councilor and demand exchange

Should I feel bad about the more outlandish plans? Every brainstorm I do becomes a braintsunami.

"Yes, you should."

Plan 31: Arrange for Vi to get weapons to escape herself

Plan 32: Ask the Doctor if he has a subject that could rescue Vi

Sleep would be nice, if they didn't feature the corpses of the family I killed so much.

Plan 38: Get arrested and discuss escape plan with Vi

Plan 39: Borrow a chemtank, soup-up it, and break her out

"Thieram could be lying. But he didn't seem to be. And two others in the organization that had been to Stillwater confirmed it after I grilled them."

Plan 47: Create a portal gun to get of Vi

Plan 48: Hire a mage to get Vi out

"Did Vi get captured shortly after that night? If Silco did it, why not just kill her instead?"

Plan 56: Hire a singer to distract the guards

Plan 57: Attack prison naked to stun them before chomping them

"Perhaps he's saving her to intimidate and fight Piltover later. Be a champion for Zaun, like he wants 1088 to be. Still, why leave her in prison?"

Plan 62: Time travel to before that night

Plan 63: Hypnotism ray on guards

She threw the papers on the desk. Then she started running back and forth on the blade. On the fourth lap she believed she had enough speed and took a leap of faith. It was a solid jump and Jinx smiled genuinely for the first time since she started writing plans.

Jinx laughed too, but in a macabre way as she realized she was going to overshoot. She shifted her weight and moved her feet down as best she could. They first contacted beyond the middle and she tried moving her core and arms down fast. It wasn't enough and her lower body slid over the side.

Suddenly, an idea came. Jinx grabbed two chompers and pulled the pins enough to activate the clamps but not enough to arm the switch. I hope, anyway. Their metal teeth didn't have much to snap onto, but they abrased the blade and slowed her descent. Her shoulders were still just over. She realized to go up she'd have to go down. She let her arms slide down and the chompers grabbed the edge.

A couple of deep breaths later, she swung herself over to grab two of the dangling wires for a rapid, but semi-controlled descent to the lower fan blades. She landed dead center.

"Yeah. Lick it, Mylo!" she exclaimed and fist pumped.

Mylo snorted. "Your bad luck only hurts others, remember?"

The lower blade creaked some and Jinx decided it was better to celebrate above.

Right after she was back on the main level, a lone firelight landed on her left hand. She almost squashed it on instinct, but she appreciated the bioluminescent insect brilliance first. "You have no problem going from place to place, but you really don't get the killer right in front of you, huh, little guy," she told it in her soft, Powdery voice.

It seemed to dance on the dorsal side of her hand before venturing out onto her fourth finger. "Well, if I get another chance, you should too."' She blew on the lonely firelight and it returned to the air.

Jinx sat down and started writing:
