Chapter 4: A Decision

"Yukari! Saori-san!" A voice called out in the rumble.

The girl pushed her way through the destroyed building. She hoped that she could arrive in time to save her friends.

However, as she turned a corner, she came across a horrible sight.

One of the girls who was in the building was crushed by a large stone. She was dead.

'I hope Yukari isn't like this.' She thought to herself, 'No! She's going to be fine!'

She moved on ahead past her fallen comrade. "I'm sorry…"

Finally, she made out something.

It was her friend Yukari, lying on the floor, covered in rubble and soot. There was blood on the floor and her intestines were lying out.

"Yukari!" The girl called out knowing she wouldn't make it.

She went over to her side and pulled her up.

"Pull yourself together! Are you okay?" She asked panicking.

"Guhh…" Came from Yukari.

'Thank god she's alive!'

"Where's your morphine?! Where's the morphine that you were supplied with?!"

She took out a small morphine and stuck it into her.

'Now to stop the bleeding.' She thought to herself.

She cleaned up the wound and pulled out bandages before she covered her protruding intestines with the dressing.

"See it's not too bad." She reassured her, "You'll get right better."

She could hear the sound of battle in the distance. Pravda had joined the fight.

She looked off into the distance before looking down at Yukari. She had not woken up.

'What to do?' She thought to herself, 'I can't leave her here, but we must win.'

She was torn over what to do when something came into her head.

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry, Nishizumi-dono!" Yukari said to her earlier that morning.

She looked down at Yukari and how helpless she was. Tears welled up in her eyes.

"I can't leave you…" She quietly said as she was torn over what to do.

Suddenly there was a noise behind her that caught her off guard. Someone was there. She spun around and saw someone standing in a uniform with an officer's cap.

"Commander?" Erwin called out to her.

She looked down at Yukari behind her and the sorry sight of her.

"What happened?"

"The building came down on her." The commander cried, "I don't know what to do."

Erwin remembered something.

"The flares…" She told her, "We can call for help!"

"But Pravda will win if we let them."

"Commander!" Erwin told her, "If we don't get help she will die."

"But we must win…" Miho told her, "No matter the cost."

Erwin slapped her across the face hard.

"I don't give a fuck about winning no more!" Erwin screamed at her, "I just want to save her!"

Miho still remained motionless.

"I mean Christ, if someone was to fall into a river would you save them?" She asked her.

"yes…" Miho quietly said as tears rolled down her face.

"Then do it, Commander." Erwin took her as she grabbed a flare and showed it into Miho's chest.

She took the flare off her trembling and shot a distress signal into the sky.

"Is there anywhere we can take her?" Erwin asked, "Where she can get help?"

Miho nodded.

Erwin ran over to Yukari.

"Right then we'll highjack a tank and go there. I am not losing Guderian."

Miho helped Erwin pick Yukari up and they began to carry her before the sound of a rumbling engine could be heard.

"Shit, it's them!" Erwin called as she pointed her MP40 in the direction.

However, to her surprise, it was not a panther, nor a tiger, nor a King Tiger. It was a badly damaged Panzer IV that pulled up outside the building.

Both the girls carried Yukari down and Miho slid herself into the commander's hatch.

"Reizei-san, are you alive?!" She called out to her, "Reizei-san!"

"Ahh…" A reply came back from the slouched-over black-haired girl, "Taxi service for one."

Erwin was lowering in an unconscious Yukari from the side hatch.

"Three actually."

"You're bleeding heavily! Show me your wounds!" Miho called out.

Erwin climbed in and to her shock she saw what had remained of Hana's body.

"No…I was just about to inject morphine anyway." Mako weakly told her, "More importantly…tell me where you want to go."

Miho looked back at Erwin who was holding Yukari. There was only one place they could go.

"Hospital."
