Year 16 AL, The Prophet's Watchers

Valkyrie discreetly entered through the purple clouds of the Fourth Level of Heaven, feeling quite uncomfortable while doing so. To say that the Archangel was still wary of Dominion Endiel was an understatement. Even with the creation of their very own "Trinity" of sorts, Valkyrie couldn't say that she and the one infamously referred to as the "Angel Whore" were friends.

Endiel was quite the anomaly in Heaven, being even more looked down upon than Cupid for her lecherous nature. The oddness of the Dominion was only more accentuated by the fact that she was allowed by Ilias herself to get so close to breaking the First Commandment for Angels. Valkyrie had overheard Archangel Ariel ponder such a thing on multiple occasions, but evidentially not even she would ever question the Goddess herself about it.

The only thing one could assume was that Endiel's endeavors were very useful to Ilias.

Of course, at this point, Valkyrie couldn't say that she was much better. How could the Archangel claim such a thing, when she was going to fetch the Angel Whore in question so that they could seduce and ravish an unsuspecting purple-haired boy that was supposed to be their Holy Prophet? In that context, Valkyrie might as well put herself in the same category as Endiel. If anything, Valkyrie would be the one with the most shame if their scandalous plans were discovered, since an Archangel picked by Ariel herself should know better.

The problem, however, was that Valkyrie's intensifying desire was steadily becoming more and more greater than her sense of duty.

Ever since seeing him in Iliasburg, Valkyrie's mind kept wandering back to Luka. At seemingly the most inopportune times, the Archangel would start to fantasize about him. For instance, it was a terribly inconvenient thing when Valkyrie would be in the middle of praying to Ilias, just for her mind to envision herself kneeling to perform a much different manner of worship with her Prophet.

The Archangel twitched as that particular image filled her mind's eye, the sudden lewd interruption causing her to misstep as she ventured deeper into the purple-clouded expanse. Valkyrie tried to shake the unholy thought away, but again and again the idea of grasping Luka's length firmly in both hands and engulfing as much as she could force down kept on playing back in her mind.

Valkyrie sighed, her shameful gaze falling to the purple clouds beneath her feet. However, as ashamed as she felt, her pace did not waver. Because at this point, she couldn't deny it. She wanted Luka, and she wanted him bad. So much so, that for the last few nights, she had almost been driven to...

...Masturbate.

It had been the one urge Valkyrie had been able to keep herself from acting upon, but it was steadily becoming more and more powerful by the day. Almost every night she was tempted to hike up her robe and stoke the fire burning inside, and many times she had nearly done so. But even with her impure fantasies haunting her days and nights, Valkyrie would not indulge in that act.

Perhaps it was a poor hill to die on, considering the mountainous undertaking she and her two Sisters were trying to attempt, but the Archangel wasn't going to lose herself to a lust-driven haze just yet.

There was a much more opportune time for that if they were able to get Luka to themselves.

Endiel's odd purple tent finally came into view, the sight of the Dominion's home causing Valkyrie to bite her lip in apprehension. However, despite the small voice telling her to stop before it was too late, Valkyrie marched on until she arrived at the home of the Angel Whore. Before she could even muster a greeting of some sort, two glowing red orbs appeared from the darkness inside the tent.

"Hmmm, I thought I felt a particularly nervous energy approaching. I should have figured it would be you, Valkyrie..." Endiel drawled, slowly stretching her body out until she exited through the purple curtains. The Dominion chuckled at how the Archangel's steel blue eyes twitched a bit at the tease, "...It's not meant to be an insult, Sister. It's to be expected, I've been a bit restless myself. I was actually getting ready to relieve the aching in my loins before you got here, it's a good thing you weren't a minute later."

Valkyrie's face grew flushed, not having to think long to figure out what the Dominion meant. "A-Ah, I see..." The Archangel said, before quickly cutting to the point before this conversation could continue spiraling. "...Well, Cupid just informed me that the Prophet L-Luka is in Heaven. He's in the Ninth Level of Heaven as we speak."

Eniel's glowing red eyes brightened at the Archangel's words. "He is? Valkyrie, you really should have just started with that. Come, let us not waste another moment!" With that, Dominion Endiel fluttered her very delicate wings - ruffling her transparent lingerie-esque robe as she did - and descended through the floor, Valkyrie following soon after...

"Greetings, my Sisters!" Eden bellowed, now standing before her elevated pedestal. The Seraph had her arms held high and wide as she called to the Angels in attendance. The Congregation was made up mostly of the newer blond-haired Angels, but there were scattered heads of green hair that belonged to the veteran Angels as well as a few other outliers.

However, one thing was the same for all of them. Something that usually wasn't the case during Mass.

None of them were focused on Eden.

Indeed, each Angel had their gazes transfixed on Luka, who nervously stood as close to the sage-haired Seraph as physically possible. The purple-haired boy's body had a slight tremble, and his pale-blue eyes were locked onto the marble floor. He could feel the weight of the thousands and thousands of eyes looking down upon him, and it was quite a heavy pressure.

None of the stares were hostile, of course, but there was an intense curiosity. The Angels obviously knew about him, but knowing that they had a Prophet was, evidentially, much different than seeing him in the flesh. They were all silent as they observed the young Hero, only idly hearing as Eden went on.

"Now, I usually am the one to begin Mass, but I am going to have our Prophet be the one to start it on this special night." The sage-haired Seraph said, giving the clergy of Angels a smile. Luka's eyes snapped up at Eden in alarm, 'What!? She never mentioned that!' The purple-haired boy thought in horror, the idea of leading Mass in front of so many sounding like something out of his worst nightmares.

Eden turned to her nephew, the smile staying on her face despite Luka's obvious aversion to what she had just said. "Don't worry," She whispered while leaning down and reaching into the pedestal's cubby. "I'll make it a short verse." The Seraph said in an attempt to quell Luka's nerves. However, the young Hero did not appear to look any less dismal than he had before.

Very carefully, Eden deposited the Writ of Heaven onto the marble slab before her, opening up the ancient texts with a happy hum. "Now let's see here..." The Seraph whispered to herself, thinking over the entire book in her mind to find the most appropriate section of the book. Another hum of satisfaction came from Eden's lips as she flipped to a page near the start of the book. She stepped back from the pedestal and nodded to Luka, "Alright, read off verse number Twenty-Two for us, Prophet Luka!" Eden exclaimed.

Luka glanced up at the pedestal, finding that he was just tall enough to come eye-level with the bottom of the angled top of the marble stand. He tentatively walked up to the pedestal, still very much aware of the innumerable pairs of eyes on him as he did, placing his hands on either side of the stand. The purple-haired boy scanned the ancient parchment, gently running his left hand down its page while he did until he found the verse in question.

With a quick clearing of his throat, Luka began to recite. His words came off soft and stuttered, but the Angels were no less engrossed as his voice carried through the Temple.

"A-And once Ilias molded the Earth, the Great Goddess filled her World with Light, and it shined w-with a M-Majesty unmatched by any other, as there is n-no equal to her Light. Even the Sun and Stars above compare to the Goddess's in the way that a leaf compares to its tree or how a blade of grass is to its field. I-Ilias's Light is unmatched, from now until Forevermore!"

Luka huffed in a breath upon completing the verse, having nervously sped through his reading without taking a pause to breathe. The purple-haired boy tentatively looked up from the leather-bound book, finding himself somewhat surprised to find that the congregation seemed quite pleased with his haphazard reading...

...Somehow.

"Fantastic reading, Prophet Luka!" Eden exclaimed, clapping her hands together merrily as she paced up to him. Following in the Seraph's example, the rest of the Angels started applauding as well, the dull noise slowly became a thunderous crackle of claps that filled the entire Temple with its noise. This unexpected showing of admiration threw the purple-haired boy for a loop, leaving him unable to do more than stand there in a stupor as he took in their reaction.

'Do they really all look up to me like that?' Luka thought, scarcely able to comprehend such a thing. He shuffled in place, bashfully wringing his white nightshirt in his hands while letting his gaze fall down again.

Eventually, Eden ceased her own applause, spurring the rest to do the same. "Now, I will be leading our Prophet through the entirety of this Level of Heaven tonight. So, you may greet our Prophet while I guide him." The Angels visibly began to stir at the Seraph's words, but she held up a hand. "I understand this may be exciting to you all, but I ask that you not crowd our Prophet! He has much to see, and not a lot of time to see it!" The energy humming through the clergy of Angels hardly diminished despite Eden's words.

Instead, it only seemed to grow.

Luka gulped, feeling a bit nervous at the way the Angels still kept their eyes on him instead of Eden. Their gazes weren't malicious in any way, but the young Hero was beginning to feel as though they might not heed the Seraph's request very well. Eden too, seemed to notice this, raising an eyebrow at her fellow Sisters' curious behavior.

"Anyways..." The sage-haired Seraph began while slowly reaching down and grabbing Luka's hand a bit tighter than before. "...Make sure to finish your Mass prayers and give thanks to Ilias for allowing her Prophet to visit us!" Eden said as she began gently pulling Luka down the marble steps and away from the elevated pedestal in the middle of the Prayer Hall.

As Eden made for the door, most of the Angels bowed their heads and folded their hands in prayer, diligently completing the untimely-held Mass Prayer. However, a few scattered Angels couldn't help but keep their eyes on the form of their retreating Prophet, unintentionally abandoning their prayer in favor of satiating their budding curiosities.

On top of that, one pink-eyed Angel of Love began sneaking away from her seat, using her shortened height to leave relatively unnoticed by the rest of the Angels.

With a growing conflict brooding behind them in the Temple, Eden and Luka left to continue on with their tour of Heaven. As they put some distance between themselves and the Angels, Luka felt his nerves finally settle since it was just him and Eden once again. "S-So that was all of the Angels of this level?" The purple-haired boy asked, moving to walk right next to the taller Seraph.

"Not quite all of them, a few may be resting overnight on Earth at the moment. Not many Angels of this Order need to travel to Earth very often, but when they do, there are various safe places for them to stay when night falls..." Eden frowned, remembering the one Angel who needed to do this much more often than others. 'Unfortunately, I'll probably have to introduce him to Cupid at some point. She is fairly important, even with how lewd she can be. I just hope she can reign in those urges when he's around.'

Eden pulled out her Holy Itinerary, scanning the paper with an appraising gaze. "Now that we've gotten the Temple out of the way, that leaves only the Phrontisteries and the Library in this District. Although, both of those places would be closed..." Eden tsked, realizing that the time of night would make Heaven a bit less interesting to explore.

With a shrug, the Serpah lowered her guide of Heaven, "...Well, I could at least show you where these places are." Eden said, settling on giving Luka the most she could from this little tour. Luka gave a silent nod, quickly following the sage-haired Seraph.

Just out of sight, a diminutive Cupid peered down from one of the marble buildings above the pair, looking none too pleased at the moment.

"Now, how exactly are we going to separate you two?" The Angel of Love mused out loud. It certainly will prove to be a challenge, as Eden - while somewhat airheaded - would be sure to notice if Luka just up and disappeared and would be swift to search for him. Considering how adept the Seraph could be at sensing when she put her mind to it, this would prove to be quite the obstacle.

Cupid watched as the two paced farther and farther away, Eden pointing at the various marble buildings while giving what could only be some long-winded explanation that only the Seraph could muster up about the most benign things. 'Ugh, she's going to tank whatever chances we have at getting Luka all riled up with her boring history lessons.'

As Cupid mulled this over, her two fellow Angels descended, landing on the same rooftop that the Angel of Love was. Cupid turned towards the other two with steeled eyes. Well, as steeled as her cutesy heart-shaped pupils could be.

"Ahhh, Valkyrie and Endiel, there you are. So the situation is this..." Cupid said while folding her arms behind her back in an attempt to seem dignified, though the attempt wasn't very effective when combined with her pint-sized body. "...Our little loverboy is right down below us; however, he is currently being chaperoned by our very own Seraph, Eden. I'm sure you all can see why this is going to cause problems."

Dominion Endiel nodded, giving the pair of Prophet and Seraph a glance. "Indeed, she will be quite the hurdle for us." The Angel Whore agreed as she brought a hand to her chin. "I doubt she'd simply allow us to take him for a spin for the rest of the night."

Valkyrie silently paced over to the edge, peering down at the duo in question. The Archangel felt the fire inside growing to an uncomfortable degree, despite the fact that nothing even remotely arousing was going on. Valkyrie couldn't help but scowl, 'What is wrong with me, do I really get that easily bothered?' The Archangel thought in frustration, not noticing as Cupid sauntered over to the roof's edge and squatting down.

"Perhaps we can simply knock Eden out, if we could break off some of the marble here..." Cupid muttered to herself while feeling the ledge of the roof, her words literally jolting Valkyrie from her thoughts. "W-We cannot assault Eden! That surely is a sin!" The Archangel declared while stomping over to Cupid. The Angel of Love threw her hands out to the side in anger as she stood up and faced the Archangel, "W-Well we have to figure something out! My ovaries are about to burst because of all this waiting!"

Valkyrie - and even Endiel, for a moment - had to pause at the rather colorful image Cupid just supplied them with. Just before either of them could make further comment, though, a very peculiar thing occurred. A sound started to grow in the Ninth Level of Heaven. It started like a dull buzz and grew louder with each passing second. Not only this, but it seemed to be coming from the direction of Heaven's own Temple of Ilias.

All three of the Angels seeking to break their chastity looked in the direction of this noise to find a very bemusing sight, as it seemed as though the Congregation that Eden and Luka had left behind had finished Mass and now were all collectively leaving the Temple at once. Curiously enough, they seemed a bit more frantic than usual. Almost like a horde of bees coming out from their disturbed hive.

Cupid, Endiel, and Valkyrie all watched as the energetic cloud of Angels descended, their sheer volume casting a shadow over them as the Angels managed to block out a significant portion of the golden clouds above.

"Oh my..." Endiel mumbled, being the only one of the three even able to say anything as the overwhelming number of Angels dove down onto the now frantic-looking Eden and a terrified Luka.

"WAIT, I SAID NO CROWDING THE PROPH-EAHHH!" Eden's command was swiftly turned into a yell of alarm by the rapid swarm of Angels that descended upon them, the Seraph being physically swept off her feet by the ensuing chaos of Angels bustling around. Cupid and her two comrades watched on in silence as the shocked form of Luka was surrounded by the horde, his head of purple hair being the only detail not to disappear in the sea of Heavenly bodies.

"...This may complicate things." Cupid finally said, looking on in dismay as Luka became just about as cut off from their reach as he could get.

Luka, meanwhile, had to put forth a considerable amount of effort to keep calm as he was surrounded on all sides by the largest collection of Angels that Heaven had. Almost all of them - barring a few examples here and there - looked to be carbon copies of each other as the vast majority were all the same height, had the same long blonde hair tied in twin tails, and had the same large blue eyes with a cross of Ilias seemingly serving as a pupil for just the left eye.

Not only this, but most of the Angels also had very small wings and halos, both of which hovered close to their bodies. They also all wore pure white robes, which clung very tight against their bodies. This was a very concerning issue, as every single last blonde Angel seemed to be just as - if maybe even more so? - endowed as Mink the Mermaid was in the chest area.

Which meant no matter where Luka turned, he couldn't help but get an eyeful of their shapeliness.

"Greetings, my Prophet!" An Angel exclaimed while fluttering up to him.

"H-Hello th-there!" Luka stuttered out, giving the blonde Angel a small wave while desperately fighting against his rising blush.

"Did you already have that robe, or did Ilias make it for you?" Another Angel asked from his side. Luka swiftly turned to face who he believed to be the one who just asked him the question, "I-I've had it since I was very little, I-"

"-How many times do you pray in a day!?" The question came from yet another Angel, who bounced in more ways than one as she energetically approached. The poor boy clamped his hands together and began wringing them around nervously. "W-Well, I try to-"

"-Prophet Luka!"

The purple-haired boy whirled around once more as another Angel called to him but had no time to even greet her as more and more Angels tried to garner his attention, the little bubble of space between him and the Angels growing concerningly smaller and smaller by the second. Even more worrying, was the fact that the crowd was starting to grow unruly.

"Wait, he didn't answer my question yet!"

"Prophet Luka, over here!"

"No, over here!"

At this point, Luka could scarcely even keep up with all of the attention on him now, a bead of nervous sweat falling down his forehead as panic began to set in. There were far too many of them right now, it was really starting to get him anxious. "N-N-Now wait, l-let's n-not get t-too hasty-" Luka's plea was drowned out by the growing clamor of Angels.

"-Get out of my way, I wanna see him!"

"LUKA!"

"Hey, HEY! GET YOUR FOOT OFF MY ROBES!"

"MY PROPHET!"

"ENOUGH!"

Eden's scream echoed in the valley of marble buildings, the Seraph herself marching through the collection of Angels with a very unamused look on her face. The Congregation quickly backed down, drawing back to let Eden return to Luka's side. The purple-haired boy quickly moved to stand next to the Seraph, silent but thankful for her timely interference.

"Now, I had stated very clearly to not crowd our Prophet! Why, exactly, was this so blatantly ignored!?" Eden's question went unanswered, as none of the Angels before her could muster up a decent explanation. Truly, they had just been very thrilled to see their Prophet. How could they not be? Luka's sudden addition to the Hierarchy of Heaven had been an unprecedented event, one that brought much excitement to the Ninth Level of Heaven.

Eden squinted at the clergy of Angels, obviously not having any of these things in mind as she lambasted them. "Well, I expect to see many prayers for forgiveness from each of you tonight! This was a very unbecoming misstep for you all." Luka felt a bit more sorry for the Angels as he saw their expressions become steadily more downcast. Even though they had caused the purple-haired boy a good amount of alarm in their sudden and overwhelming presence, he didn't want them to feel so bad.

"I-I don't th-think they meant a-anything bad, E-Eden. Y-You shouldn't be too harsh on th-them." Luka stuttered out, bringing the Seraph's attention down to him. Eden scrunched up her face in thought and took another glance around the Congregation. Undoubtedly, the Angels did look to be very regretful as none of them could match the Seraph's hardened stare.

Eden's face softened, "Well, I suppose that I could overlook it..." The Seraph's face hardened once more as a wave of anger hit her. "...However, those of you who helped to knock me over, had better pray for extra forgiveness! You know who you are!" A couple Angels grimaced and hunched down, attempting to hide themselves from Eden's wrath.

Slowly, the crowd of Angels began to disperse as Eden retrieved her Holy Itinerary once more. "By the Goddess, we are so behind schedule. I'm afraid we won't be able to finish our tour of this Level tonight." Luka frowned at Eden's words, "R-Really? But I wanted to see more..."

Luka's lament quickly spurred the sage-haired Seraph to reassure him, "Oh, we'll have time to see more, we just might need an extra night to see everything, my Prophet." She said with a smile, raising her parchment up to read it. "I believe we'll have enough time to see the Commandments of the Angels, and then the Barracks."

Eden started to pace towards their penultimate stop, Luka quickly moving to be right beside her. "W-Wait, Angels have Commandments as well?" The young Hero asked, having never heard of such a thing before. The Seraph nodded, "Indeed, we have Six Commandments just the same as Humans do. Ours have been written in stone in the heart of the Ninth Level for many eons."

"And we recite them every morning once waking!"

Both Luka and Eden turned to see that five lone Angels had been following the pair, all of them being the regular blonde Angel that made up most of the Ninth Order of Heaven. The one at the front beamed, having been the one to speak up.

"I don't believe that I asked for any accompaniment," Eden said, causing the five to swiftly lose their nerves. "I, alone, am supposed to guide Luka through Heaven. This night's mass was an exception to the curfew, but it was to be a very brief one." The Angels looked as if they were about to quickly leave, but the Prophet himself quickly - if a bit nervously - stepped in.

"W-Well I d-don't think it would b-be an issue. I actually th-think it would be quite nice." Luka said. The Angels collectively perked up, looking at Eden with a great amount of hope in their large blue eyes.

The sage-haired Serpah bit the side of her lip, looking between the Angels and Luka a couple times. A twinge of hesitation hit her, as Eden was not too sure if allowing a further break in curfew for the Angels would be a wise idea. However, if it was something the Prophet of Light was in favor of, then there couldn't be that much harm.

"Alright, I'll allow it. But we'll be sticking to my appointed route, so no deviations!" Despite the stern warning, the five Angels smiled as they were more than happy to adhere to this as long as they were able to be in the presence of Ilias's Prophet. The group of seven moved on, Eden leading them on as the five Angels quickly moved to walk alongside Luka.

The purple-haired boy felt a bit jittery upon being surrounded by the admittedly very attractive-looking Angels but was quick to force such thoughts from his mind, "S-So, what are your names?" Luka asked, somewhat aware of the fact that it may be difficult to tell all five apart even with knowing such a thing, due to the fact that they all looked so similar.

The first one to flutter into view and respond was the same one that had spoken up first before. The Angel gave a little curtsy with her white robes, "My name is Samyaza!" She exclaimed happily before putting her hands on her hips, "I am the Captain of our squad, Troop number Five-Hundred Thirty-Five!" The Angel exclaimed.

Luka perked up at this, "O-Oh, are all the Angels divided up into Troops?" Samyaza nodded vigorously, "Not all, but most of us Common Angels are broken up into groups of three to five, depending on strength. We aren't particularly powerful Angels, so we need five to our group to make up for it." Luka nodded. "I see, that's very interesting."

The purple-haired boy watched as Samyaza fluttered to another Angel far off to the side, this one seeming to be more reserved though she still gave Luka a small smile as their gazes met. "This is Sareil, she is our Troop's Lieutenant. She doesn't talk much, but she has an indominable fighting spirit!" the Captain Angel declared. Sareil silently nodded, keeping up her fabled silence.

"Nice to meet you, Sareil." Luka said with a smile. The Lieutenant's own smile grew just a touch wider, and the Angel offered a very brief greeting, "Hello, Prophet Luka." Samyaza laughed, "See, that's the most she's said at once today!" Just as the Captain said this, two of the remaining three Angels moved to flank Luka on either side, getting very dangerously close to bumping into him with their combined bust.

"I'm Baraqel!" The one on his right said.

"I'm Kabaiel!" The one on his left said.

Samyaza quickly came into view again, "These two were created at the same time from the same cluster of Light, so they're practically one mind in two bodies. They always know what the other is doing, so they're pretty good at flanking!" The Captain explained.

"Double the trouble, we never miss a step!" Baraquel proclaimed, flapping her small wings happily.

"Pain in twaine, swift is our strikes!" Kabaiel proclaimed in nearly the same manner, also happily flapping her small wings.

Luka couldn't help but laugh at their enthusiasm, "Haha, I can see you two are close. I-I like your spirit!" The two Angels giggled, moving away from his sides to give the purple-haired boy room. Finally, the last Angel floated next to him, this one having a particularly intense stare. She kept this stare up for a particularly prolonged amount of time - to the point where Luka began to feel a bit uncomfortable - before finally speaking up.

"I am Penemue. I am glad to have finally met you, Prophet Luka." The Angel said bluntly while giving Luka a terse nod of her head. "I am prepared to lay my life on the line for you." Luka fell silent, not sure what to even say to that. 'Should I feel flattered or disturbed?' The young Hero debated, searching for a reply that wouldn't potentially offend the Angel.

"...I-I don't suppose that s-such a thing w-would be necessary. But I appreciate your dedication!" Luka finally said.

Penemue kept quiet for a long couple of seconds, mulling over Luka's words. "I see, in that case, I am yours to use however you see fit." The Angel gave a bow, missing her perturbed Prophet's wide-eyed stare as the statement could quite easily be misunderstood to mean things of a much lewder nature.

Samyaza quickly chimed in, "Penemue is the muscle of our Troop, she is passionate about her role. Maybe a bit too much sometimes..." The Captain Angel trailed off, watching as Penemue continued to bow while hovering along. "...Yes, very passionate." Luka offered a slight nod to the Captain, believing it better to not comment on Penemue's odd behavior.

"Yes, well it is very nice to meet you all. I-I hope that we can get to know each other even more a-after tonight." The purple-haired boy said, his words being the final for the moment as they fell into a comfortable silence. The group of Ilias's Prophet, his new Angel companions, and his Seraphim Aunt soon left the District of Worship.

This led them to a fairly open flatland of golden cloud, the fluffy ground shimmering in its luster. Luka reached his left hand out to the glimmer that rose in the air from these clouds to find that he was actually able to feel their movements, interestingly enough.

"Hmm..." Luka hummed, finding the sensation quite pleasing. It was something akin to how the sun's rays felt when you first step into it, but it also danced around him as if it was more tangible, like a mist. After a few minutes of walking, a peculiar sight could be found in the distance, its form rising tall before them.

The rectangular slab was - much like everything else in Heaven - carved out of white marble. This monument was at least ten meters tall, dwarfing himself and the Angels. This was not just any monument though, this monolith held perhaps one of the most important scripts in Heaven. One that had been around for longer than most living Angels.

"And here it is, Prophet Luka!" Eden declared, breaking her prolonged silence to gesture toward the marble structure. "This is where our Great Goddess first revealed to us our Six Commandments!" Luka gaped upon hearing Eden's declaration, 'Wait, Angels have Commandments as well?' The purple-haired boy followed the Seraph closely as she rounded over to the front of the monument, the five Angels following close behind the two.

Bit by bit, the face of the monument was revealed, showing its immense engraving:

Ilias's Six Commandments To Angels

My Daughters Shalt Not Have Intercourse With Humans

My Daughters Shalt Not Fraternize With Monsters

My Daughters Shalt Be Dutiful In Their Prayers And Obligations

My Daughters Shalt Not Worship, Nor Bear False Witness to, False Idols

My Daughters Shalt Not Deny Their Goddess

My Daughters Shalt Bring Greatness Unto Their Goddess

Luka read the Commandments thoroughly, his face morphing from excitement to something much more conflicted. There were definitely elements to these Commandments that seemed very at odds with his own personal goals. In particular, the second Commandment appeared to be a potentially difficult hurdle as coexistence couldn't be reached if Angels weren't even allowed to interact with Monsters.

This problem aside, Luka felt his mind shift to a more curious thought, one that had to do with the very first Commandments listed. He knew well of the restriction of intimacy between Humans and Monsters, but he had never heard in any sermon or text - or even from Ilias herself, now that he thought of it - that Angels could not have relations with Humans.

Such a thing wasn't even something he had ever considered but it must be possible if there was a law barring it. But that raised the question: Why?

Obviously, he could read the text below the Commandment elaborating on the subject, but he felt as though there was something missing. Ilias's reason for disallowing Human and Monster relations was because Monsters could not love. Is this, then, the same for Angels? It seemed like a logical enough conclusion, but it didn't quite make sense to Luka. After all, Ilias seemed to have a distaste for Monsters for this very reason so if her own Angels were the same way, then the Goddess's own logic was flawed.

No, there had to be something he was missing.

Luka glanced up to the Seraph beside him, hoping to clarify his confusion. "E-Eden, I have a question, if y-you don't mind me asking." The sage-haired Seraph was quick to give Luka a smile, waving away his worries with the hand not holding her Holy Itinerary. "Ask away, my Prophet! I'd be glad to answer whatever questions you may have!"

Even though Eden was giving a reassuring smile, Luka was very unsure of how to go about asking the question he had. The young Hero didn't want to seem doubtful of his Goddess's Commandments, but he couldn't help but see that something wasn't adding up. However, there was an issue.

Luka glanced back to the five Angels behind him, who had been silently awaiting their Prophet's question with a great deal of interest. The purple-haired boy gave a light grimace, 'I don't think that they should be around to hear this type of question.' Luka thought, deciding to - as politely as he could - ask for a bit of privacy. "D-Do you five mind me asking Eden this a-alone? I-It's a bit p-personal."

The sage-haired Seraph raised an eyebrow at her nephew's curious request, but the Angels responded in no time. "Of course, Prophet Luka! We'll just go to the other side of the Commandments!" Samyaza said before bowing, a movement that was quickly followed by the others. The Captain then fluttered her wings and took off, herself and the other four rounding to the opposite side of the large marble structure.

Although the Angel Lieutenant, Sariel, hesitated for a moment once she reached the corner of the monument; her inquisitive blue eyes went to Luka for just a fraction of a second before she also disappeared, keeping the pair of Prophet and Seraph just within earshot despite the purple-haired boy's request of privacy.

Luka turned back to Eden once the Angels were out of sight, looking up at the taller Serpah with a growing hesitation. Eden merely smiled at the purple-haired boy, silently spurring him to reveal his query.

One that will, unbeknownst to him, end up having massive ramifications on Heaven itself.

"W-Why is it that Angels aren't allowed to have intercourse with Humans?" Luka asked innocuously.

Eden's smile stayed frozen on her face, but her normally relaxed eyes grew larger as they gleamed with bewilderment. A bizarre and almost inaudible groan came from her throat, this being the only reply she could muster as her brain momentarily went blank. The Seraph's fist trembled just a touch, the movement ruffling her Holy Itinerary.

"W-Well, Prophet Luka that's... e-erm..." Eden trailed off, becoming atypically uncertain while she tried to muster an answer. The Seraph tried - and failed - not to show it, but Luka's seemingly innocent question utterly floored her. The very nature of it was bad enough as Eden didn't expect her nephew to question that particular Commandment, but even worse was the fact that it was Luka who was asking it.

The only being in the entire Universe to be born from such an Unholy Union.

For the first time she could recall, Eden felt truly conflicted. When going by the Commandment alone, the answer was clear: Angels and Humans are not allowed to be intimate, so to do so was naturally a sin. By extension, Angels having children with Humans would certainly be blasphemous. But Luka, someone born from this type of sinful act, was Ilias's hand-chosen Prophet.

The paradox of Luka being both a creation of sin and a bastion of Heaven was one Eden had noted herself when he was born, but the Seraph had never questioned it after Ilias had shown her the purple-haired boy's pure soul. After that, it was simply a fact of Eden's life, as she accepted Ilias's words wholeheartedly. However, this inconsistency within Ilias's own laws was being thrown to the forefront once again as the boy who surely did not know his own heritage was indirectly questioning his own existence.

Luka might as well have walked up to Eden and asked her if he was a sin.

"...Great question, Luka! S-Such a great one, that I-I'm actually going to need to do some researching to find out!" Eden shakily said, trying to keep some element of sagacity despite having no Heavenly idea what to say at all. "In fact, I-I think I'll go do th-that, r-r-right now!" She loudly declared, failing to hide the pronounced tremble in her voice as she spoke to Luka, who looked very concerned at the Seraph's obvious distress.

"Eden, I-I'm sorry, j-just forget I even asked-" Luka began, but the Seraph grabbed his hand and started to pull him around to the side of the large marble slab that the five Angels were on. "I'm fine, my Prophet! I-I'll just have Samyaza and her troop carry on in my stead and sh-show you the Barracks before you have to go back to Ilias. Th-Then, I'll be sure to have an answer for you!"

Luka found himself on the backside of the Commandment slab, meeting up with the Angels waiting there for them. All five of them quickly looked towards the approaching duo of Seraph and Prophet. Strangely enough, the one he recognized as Sariel, seemed very perturbed by something. However, this expression went away as quickly as Luka had spotted it as Eden stepped forward to address the Angels.

"Captain Samyaza," Eden said, prompting the leader of the Angel troop to stand to attention. "I need you to finish the next section of Luka's tour for me, for there has been... ah..." The Seraph took a pause, not really wanting to elaborate on what she and Luka had spoken about. "...An unforeseen issue needing my immediate attention! So I am entrusting you five to guide the Prophet through the Barracks."

The Angels - sans a rather discomposed-looking Sariel - all perked up, more than happy to oblige. "We would all feel truly blessed to do such a thing, Seraph Eden!" Samyaza proclaimed, not noticing her Lieutenant's hesitation.

Eden quickly clapped her hands together, "Splendid! I will try to return as quickly as I can." Her face turned stern as she pointed a finger at the five, "Now I will only tell you this once, I am only allowing you five to take the Prophet through the Barracks. I'd better not catch you anywhere else but there when I am done."

Samyaza bowed, the other four mirroring her soon after. "We promise only to go to the Barracks, Serpah Eden. You have our word!" The Angel Captain promised. Eden nodded before turning to Luka, who gave his Aunt a shaky smile. The Seraph offered one back, her smile looking somehow even more strained due to the undertaking she was about to go through trying to come up with a decent explanation for why Angels and Humans could not have intercourse.

If only the Seraph knew that this would end up being the first step of the beginnings of a radical shift within the lowest rank of Heaven...

A pair of pink eyes watched as Eden flew back in the direction of Heaven's Temple, leaving Luka behind with the other five Angels. "I-I can't believe it." Cupid said, watching from a good distance away as the Seraph left the purple-haired boy behind to be tended to by the Common Angels, who quickly started to guide him in the direction of the Barracks.

Where, conveniently, Cupid's own residence was located.

Her private residence, as she didn't share her living quarters with anyone else.

"This is perfect!" The Angel of Love exclaimed while turning to her two comrades. "Now, all we have to do is separate Luka from those Angels, take him to my place, and then we can finally get it on!" Cupid giggled, clenching her childlike fists tightly as she watched the group of six head towards a distant collection of small marble buildings that comprised the Barracks of Heaven.

Endiel gave a curious hum, "Hmmm, that does sound wonderful, but how do you plan on getting him away from those five? It seems as though Eden has placed him in their care and so I doubt they'd so easily give him up." Cupid gave a deep nod, her smile not fading in the slightest. "Oh, I have a plan. After all, these types of Angels would be very quick to listen to authority..." She trailed off, glancing over to a certain Archangel.

Valkyrie, who hadn't been listening very closely as she was locked onto Luka, snapped to attention as she noticed the other two staring at her. "S-Sorry, what did you say?" Valkyrie asked, her abnormal inattentiveness gaining a laugh from the Angel of Love. "Oh-ho, getting excited already? Don't get ahead of yourself just yet, we almost have our little Prophet!" Cupid said as she turned to the Dominion of the group.

"Endiel," Cupid started as she folded her hands behind her back, "If you don't mind going and getting my living quarters and preparing it for us, I would appreciate it." The Dominion nodded with a smile, "Certainly, Cupid. I will have it nice and clean for us." Endiel did not waste a moment more in disappearing, leaving only a determined Cupid and a somewhat hazy Valkyrie behind.

The Angel of Love smirked at her Archangel friend, "Alright, Valkyrie. Let's bag us a Prophet!" Despite her nervousness - and the odd fog starting to blanket her mind - Valkyrie nodded and followed Cupid as they followed the Prophet and the Angels accompanying him, intent on getting Luka all to themselves...

I had really wanted to get this out on the 29th, as that would've made it come out one year to the day that I first posted Chapter 1 but unfortunately, things got in the way. Just moved into a new place for the 10th time of my life now - hopefully the last, too - so I didn't get a whole lot of down time. And even when I did, I didn't always have it in me to write anything down. But here it is now, so I hope you enjoy.

Quite a bit more layers added onto the Heaven side of things, and we're not even done with this night just yet. First things first, I have taken the liberty of giving some of the common Angels names since they don't - at the moment - have any names in the games other than Angel Soldier A, B, etc.

A little bit of digging will reveal why I used these names, and probably make the title of this chapter make a bit more sense as well. Though it isn't really necessary, more of a fun easter egg on my part.

Other than that, this Chapter is mostly just more of my expanding on the original game's worldbuilding, or rather lackthereof, of Heaven. In particular, I want to give the common Angels a bit more of spotlight since they - along with Eden - are going to be a big part in making it to where Luka starts wanting to visit Heaven more.

omegaqilin: Marcellus will do what he can, though as always, Ilias is watching. This will actually cause Marcellua and Ilias to have some very tense moments themselves, as Marcellus keeps trying in any way he can to help his son.

Speaking of the Goddess, I've always assumed pretty well the same. I can't imagine that she has much more than a surface-level understanding of life on Earth, which leads her to fall back on her own assumptions. That's what will make this fanfic interesting, as Ilias's feelings for Luka will spur her to explore things that she hasn't felt herself ever in her entire life, which causes a lot of her awkward and uncomfortable behavior.

Like the very inappropriate amount of caressing.

As for Ilias's fate and where she fits in the end, all I can confirm is that she indeed does something drastic. Very drastic, as a matter of fact.

F14M3RZ: As much as Marcellus actually being there when Luka confronts Lazarus sounds pretty interesting, I can say it won't happen here. Ilias won't be allowing Marcellus outside of Heaven, as that could potentially allow for him to get away with telling Luka the truth about why he's back.

Luka's magic is definitely a part of that, as he does - to a degree - use it to cause things to just "feel" better, whether it be cooking or other things. And you are right about the difference in the "heart" reaction, as while Ilias isn't fully aware of the true nature of her feelings for Luka, she also doesn't have any limitations on what to feel since she's a Goddess, while Luka does since he is her Prophet.

And so while Ilias will steadily start to indulge in her feelings without consequence, Luka will constantly be in an internal battle with himself about what he should and should not do.

Clownes: It will definitely have major repercussions in the future, that's for sure.
