Hello and welcome to another experimental fanfic of Boku no Hero Academia, in which a new inspiration popped into my head in an unexpected way, wherein a CLASSIC video game gave me the idea to make this fic…

I just recently purchased a second-hand Sega Dreamcast console game and bought some games that were installed, and most of the games I ordered are mostly fighting games, among them being Street Fighter III, but among the games I installed is one of the Fatal Fury games, which was Mark Of The Wolves. I intended to play it after learning that it was the LAST CANONICAL entry of the Fatal Fury games.

I take it that SNK took a page from Street Fighter III as MOTW feature a new cast of characters with Terry Bogard being the only returning one. Once I reached home I immediately tried out MOTW to see how well it does as it is said to be one of the best fighting games for the Dreamcast.

After playing the game for three days, it brought me back to some memories where I enjoyed the fighting games of the 90s and early 2000s, and after re-watching the My Hero Academia episodes, an idea popped into my head and decided to use the MHA characters as the main characters here to have them face off against the villains of this fic.

Since I will use the elements of MHA, such as having the characters attend UA Academy, it will also have elements from MOTW, such as featuring a new cast of characters, while Izuku Midoriya will be the only recurring character, as he now serves a mentor-like figure.

Why? In MOTW, the story takes place a decade after Fatal Fury, so here this story is set a decade after the Paranormal Liberation Front battle. Of course a new protagonist will be introduced, and you'll get to SEE HIM this instant…

Will see how this turns out as it would feature drama and some tragic elements so as to differentiate this fic from others…

Well then, read on and enjoy!

Ch. 1: Kako kara no purorōgu

Ten years ago…before the events where HE meets All Might…

The scene shifts at an apartment, where a five-year old boy, sporting green, curly hair and having a freckled face, is watching a live footage on his computer, where several pro heroes are seen doing heroic deeds like stopping crime and saving people. The little boy is so fixated that he aspires to become a hero himself when he grows up.

The boy is identified as Izuku Midoriya, and he appeared to be an avid fan of pro hero All-Might. As the little boy is watching in awe and admiration, his mother, Inko, smiled as she felt that her son has found inspiration, and there the little boy told his mom that he wants to become a hero like All-Might, which his mom smiled and said he would one day become one.

"Mom! Look!"

"Yes?"

"All-Might is amazing, right?"

"Yes, izuku."

"Can I become like him?"

"I'm sure you would."

"I'm going to become a hero when I grow up!"

"Yes, Izuku."

However, as fate would make itself apparent, the Midoriya family learned from a doctor that Izuku is Quirkless, and told Inko that they should just give it up, and accept the fact that Izuku is just an ordinary boy and can never become a pro hero, which Inko was in disbelief, asking the doctor how is this possible as she and her husband possess Quirks.

However, the doctor said that Izuku is one of the rare cases where he is born Quirkless and tells her that Izuku should just become an ordinary citizen, attend an ordinary school and live an ordinary life, and tells her that this is how life is, nothing more.

Izuku is heart-broken at this as he feels that his dreams will never be achieved and Inko consoled her son, seeing that he is depressed at this and apologized to her son, though all he could do is cry silently at this as he is forced to face the harsh truth and reality.

"M-mom…"

"Izuku…?"

"C-can…I…still be…a hero…?"

"Izuku…"

"…"

"Oh, Izuku! I'm sorry!"

"…"

"I'm sorry!"

At one point, the patriarch of the family, Hisashi Midoriya, came home from abroad, in which he is revealed to be an archeologist, and due to his work, he is away from Japan most of the time, and now he found free time and spends his time with his wife and child.

One day, as he walked on, he saw what appeared to be a limousine parked, and as Izuku is about to leave, he saw his dad Hisashi talking to someone, who appeared to be an American, and wearing a businessman attire, the American appeared to be a billionaire of sorts, and he is seen and heard offering a business proposal to Hisashi.

The American is identified as Geese Howard, and Izuku hid behind a thick bush and eavesdropped at the conversation, which made Izuku feel a bit alarmed as he could see his dad looking horrified and said opposing words towards the American.

"Now, now…I'm sure we could…"

"No means no. I won't do something that would bring shame to my country."

"Oh come on, now…"

"I can't believe that I got tricked by someone like you…"

"Think about it…you can be rewarded…"

"I don't accept bribes…and I will not resort to do something CRIMINALLY."

"That's a shame, though…"

"I'm just doing the right thing."

It turns out that Geese tricked Hisashi into coming here and bringing the artifact on the claims that he has a contact with the national museum, but then revealed that he plans on taking the artifact for himself and further his business deal.

Hisashi opposed this and is about to leave, but Geese sensed that someone is spying, and revealed that he possess a Quirk and unleashed an attack that struck the thick bush.

"REPPU-KEN!"

Geese's Quirk, an energy-like blast that resembled a small tidal wave, traveled to the ground and struck the bush, which narrowly missed Izuku, but this startled the boy and jumps out of the bush.

Hisashi became alarmed at seeing this and told Geese to stop, but the American businessman smirked diabolically and went towards Izuku and does a roundhouse kick in a fast motion, hitting the boy on the left side of his face, which appeared to be fatal as the blow would have caused a neck fracture.

As Izuku lay on the ground, Hisashi angrily asked why did he do that as he told Geese that the boy is Quirkless, which surprised the American a bit, but said that at least the boy won't suffer anymore as 80% of the population possess Quirks, and hence Izuku is useless as society has no need for Quirkless expendables.

"How could you say that?"

"Why not?"

"So you'll just hurt people as you please?"

"As long as no one sees me."

"Why use your Quirk on a defenseless child?"

"Oh, you should worry about something else beside the brat…"

"…"

"…"

Geese then went towards Hisashi and attempted to strike him down, but Hisashi is forced to defend himself using his Quirk, which he breathes fire from his mouth, but Geese is revealed to be a formidable martial artist, and eventually overpowered his target and knocked him down.

As Hisashi is crouching, Geese uses his Quirk, and the attack struck Hisashi on his neck, fatally injuring him, and as Hisashi lay dying, Geese took the artifact and boarded the limousine, leaving the two victims to die.

Though Izuku managed to survive and told Inko and the police what he witnessed, Geese managed to win the case in his favor, as he used unspecified means to clear his name despite the testimony Izuku gave, and as Inko wailed, a sobbing Izuku vowed that one day he will expose Geese for murdering Hisashi while reaching his dream to become a hero.

Ten years later…

As Midoriya is just months away from reaching his 15th birthday, he had a fateful encounter with his idol and hero, All Might, and though he was told that he can't be a hero due to not having a Quirk, the Symbol of Peace changed his mind after seeing him risk his life in saving Katsuki Bakugo from the Sludge Villain, and took Midoriya under his wing, where he trained him to build up his body.

This lasted for 10 months before completion, and there All Might transferred his Quirk, One For All, to Midoriya, and the young boy went on to enroll at UA Academy, where he managed to pass the entrance exams, and is sorted into Class 1-A, where ironically, he is classmates with Bakugo.

In the months that passed, Midoriya persevered and went on to learn a lot at UA Academy, encountered threats ranging from the League of Villains to Shie Hassaikai up to the Paranormal Liberation Front, where Midoriya succeeded in defeating Tomura Shigaraki, and dismantled the Paranormal Liberation Front in the process.

He, alongside the rest of Class 1-A, acquired their provisional hero license.

During his 2nd year, Bakugo came to discover part of the reason why Midoriya wanted to become a pro hero, and he grudgingly offered to help him find proof to expose Geese Howard's evil deeds.

"Fine…I'll help you."

"Really?"

"…Yeah…"

"Thanks, Ka-chan…"

"Hmph. Just make sure you don't do something reckless."

"I won't."

"Whatever."

"…"

All Might, Gran Torino and Nezu are among those who learned why Midoriya is doing his best in UA, but are worried as they are aware how crafty Geese Howard is, and speaking to Naomasa Tsukauchi, they agreed to discreetly investigate Geese as a way to protect Midoriya as they worry that the young boy might lose moral control and resort to vigilantism just to defeat Geese.

"We got to find proof that Geese is the murderer…"

"He's Right. That Midoriya might get consumed like what happened to Tenya Iida way back…"

"I understand, sensei…"

"We got to work hard, but we need to be careful."

"Yeah. That Geese managed to clear himself despite Midoriya's testimony…"

"I wish I still have my Quirk…"

"Don't be discouraged. Let's work hard."

"Okay."

"Okay."

As fate would have it, Midoriya and Bakugo were mysteriously lured into participating in a fighting tournament where the winner receive a huge sum of money, but Midoriya entered the tournament due to an informant telling him that he has a way to deliver the evidence to expose Geese for murdering Hisashi Midoriya.

Bakugo senses that it could be a trap, but he and Midoriya agreed to participate as they have to take the risk. Both boys reached the semifinals, and though he didn't like it, Bakugo pretended to be weakened and intentionally counted himself out, allowing Midoriya to advance in the finals, and soon defeated the reigning champion.

As Midoriya pretend to celebrate, Bakugo noticed that two men in business attire approached Midoriya, saying that the sponsor wanted to see him, and knowing that it could be a trap, Midoriya played along and went inside the limousine and leave. Bakugo hitched a ride where they arrive at a corporate building, and Midoriya is led towards the office of Geese Howard.

There Geese revealed that the informant thing was a ruse and revealed that he intend to kill him after seeing the news on how Midoriya defeated the likes of Shigaraki and Chisaki, and as a way to break his morale, he told Midoriya that he bribed the investigators and prosecutors to give him an INNOCENT VERDICT, and revealed that the artifact he stole from Hisashi has been sold.

As Geese gloated at Midoriya's vain attempt to expose him, Bakugo showed up, revealing that he recorded the conversation and sent the video to the police, and soon they will arrest Geese. Geese was livid at what Bakugo did.

"So…who's laughing now?"

"You…!"

"Guess the joke's on you now!"

"You…you…!"

"You can't escape now. Japan now knows of your deeds!"

"Damn you!"

"Right back at you, you blond-haired bastard! Now I get to see what you're really made of!"

"You'll regret this, you brat!"

Bakugo then went after Geese, intending to stall him so that pro heroes would arrive, but Geese proved to be a superior fighter, and along with his Quirk, Geese critically injured Bakugo, and as the businessman is about to kill Bakugo, Midoriya intervened and fought Geese.

The battle was brutal as Geese proved to be the better combatant, and even managed to hold off Midoriya who uses Full Cowling, and eventually, Geese uses the Reppu-Ken to fracture Midoriya's legs and left arm, and there he is ready to use the Reppu-Ken to decapitate the boy like the way he killed Hisashi.

However, as Geese got a little too close, Midoriya uses the One For All Quirk by flicking his fingers, causing a wave that struck Geese on the eyes, blinding and disorienting him. As Geese swings wildly, he tripped over and collided against the windows, causing him to fall to his apparent death.

As the police and pro heroes arrived, they helped the two boys while searching for Geese's body, with little results, however, thanks to Bakugo, Geese's murderous actions have been exposed and he is now on the wanted list.

Midoriya finally gave justice to his father, and felt a ray of hope, as one of his goals have finally been realized.

The present time…

Almost ten years have passed, and life in Japan has found relative peace. Class 1-A has graduated from UA Academy and finished university and became pro heroes. Some of the pro heroes retired while others passed away.

The scene shifts at the Midoriya house where Inko is preparing breakfast, and called her son, saying that food is ready. Izuku came down and is dressed in his hero costume, and he is now as tall as Shota Aizawa.

Izuku is currently 25 years old, and now works at Nighteye Hero Agency, working alongside Mirio Togata, Centipeder and Bubble Girl. As Izuku is getting ready, he called two more to come down, saying that they can't be late as today is the entrance exams for enrollment at UA Academy.

Two persons came down and joined Izuku. A boy and a girl, who are currently living with the Midoriya family.

One is Eri, whom Izuku and Inko adopted after her only relative, her grandfather, passed away, and none of Eri's biological relatives are willing to take her in, and this prompted Izuku to adopt her and became his "little sister".

Eri is now a high school student, and is just as tall as Ochako Uraraka. As Eri took her seat, another person came to join in. A teenage boy who is of American descent, and has a height of 166 cm (5'5¼"). He has the appearance of an innocent boy, and is depicted as a handsome young teenager with blond hair and blue eyes.

The teen boy is identified as Rock Howard, and due to mysterious circumstances, he is adopted into the Midoriya family, and like Eri, Rock is going to enroll at UA Academy.

Izuku asked Eri and Rock if they are prepared, reminding them that the entrance exams at UA will not be easy like what Izuku went through a decade ago, but Eri and Rock exhibited an aura of confidence and assured to him that they will enter UA and become heroes in training.

"Do not worry."

"We're prepared for this."

"We want to become heroes…"

"To battle the bad guys and maintain the peace."

"We won't let you down."

"We'll apply what you taught us, and use it to pass the entrance exams."

"Izuku-nii-chan…"

"Aniki…"

To Be Continued...

Hope you liked this chapter, as it somewhat re-enact the events where Izuku was revealed to be Quirkless and had to spend his childhood living in a society where majority of the populace possess Quirks…

Hisashi Midoriya appeared here and is portrayed as a loving parent to Izuku, but also becomes the FIRST CASUALTY at the hands of this fic's antagonist. While the Fatal Fury and other SNK games depicted Geese Howard as possessing SPECIAL TECHNIQUES, here I had him possess an unspecified Quirk that would justify on how he is able to perform the Reppu-ken attacks.

This fic seems to mimic the early plotline of the first Fatal Fury, though the only difference is that Izuku is the main character here instead of Terry Bogard…

While Geese is shown to be defeated, I borrowed elements from MOTW and did a time skip where Izuku is now in his mid-20s, and now serves as a mentor-type figure to two wards…

Eri is depicted as an adoptive younger sibling to Izuku and now lives with him and Inko…

Rock Howard, the main character from MOTW, serves as the secondary main character, and the details on why he came to live with the Midoriya family will be explained soon. Both he and Eri are depicted as high school students going on their first year and will apply for enrollment at UA Academy.

Preview:

The next chapter will answer the question on how and why Rock is under Izuku's care…

In the meantime, the entrance exams at UA Academy will commence and will a new cast of characters who will serve as allies and rivals of Rock and Eri…

See you in February 2021…
