Chapter 1 A mothers plan
Third person POV
A woman sat alone in a dark room, the darkness was so thick that you wouldn't be able to see your hand if it was touching your nose, however the woman seemed completely unbothered by the darkness. She was reclined on a Victorian style fainting couch leaning up against the single arm appearing deep in thought. Had there been any light to see the woman any onlookers would have considered her one of the most beautiful women in the world. She had pale skin with long pitch black hair that cascaded down her shoulders and framed her face. She had an elegant almost regal face with fairly thin lips, her eyes were as dark as her hair apart from a striking silver ring around her irises. She wore a fitting midnight black dress with a slit up the side that went up just above her knee and she wore a silver crescent moon necklace.
Soon another woman entered the room breaking the woman on the couch out of her thoughts. The new woman had the same regal features as the woman in black but had blonde hair and wore a white sundress.
"Hello Mother," said the woman as she walked further into the room, she was also unfazed by the darkness.
"Hello Hemera," replied the woman smiling at her daughter. While her mouth had formed a smile her eyes looked almost sad.
"I can tell somethings wrong," said Hemera, collecting the bottom of her dress around her and perching herself on the end of the couch by her mothers feet. "What's going on?" Her mother sighed before replying.
"I want another child," the woman explained to her daughter who smiled before frowning slightly.
"While I'd love another sibling, father faded long ago and I know you've had no interest with anybody else, or have you been hiding something from me? Or should I say someone?" Hemera joked.
"No, I loved your father dearly," the woman said sadly. "There won't be a father," she stated before continuing, "I want a demigod child." Hemera looked confused at her mother's statement.
"I don't see how that's possible," Hemera said. "You're a primordial goddess, even a fraction of your power will be too much for a mortal body." She explained but her mother looked at her with a facial expression that said she had already made up her mind on the matter.
"I don't care, even if I have to sculpt him with my own powers. I will find a way."
Timeskip
Percy POV
I sat on my balcony railing swinging my feet, bouncing my heels off the metal bars. I hate waiting, I thought to myself. I looked down at the courtyard below me, there were silver flowers that glowed slightly growing in flower beds that lined the walls and there was a large fountain in the middle of the square. How much longer till she's ready? As if able to hear my thoughts my mother's voice rang out calling my name.
"Percy! It's time!"
Finally. I swung myself off the railing and walked into the shadow of my bedroom wall. Instead of banging my head on the wall that was in front of me I continued walking and appeared in the living room. The room was massive with two regular leather couches and a weird couch with only one arm and half a back. I think it's called a fainting couch or something but I didn't know why I'm not exactly an expert on interior design. A large ornate silver chandelier hung from the ceiling although I'm not sure why as I've never seen the candles it held lit but the darkness in the room didn't bother me. Standing in the middle of the room was my mom. She was wearing black jeans, a dark blue t-shirt and had her hair pulled back in a ponytail, according to my (much much older) siblings this was a new thing for her. Apparently she had become more modern and casual since I was born.
"There you are," she said, completely unfazed seeing me walk out of the shadow of a grandfather clock. "Are you ready?"
"Yes mom," I said. "I still don't see why we're doing this." My mom had come up with a plan that I honestly didn't see the point in.
"Because we need to get the gods and camp to trust you," my mom explained in a tone like we'd been over this many times before (which we had).
"Yeah, nothing says trustworthy more than a massive lie," I muttered under my breath.
"It'll only be for a short while. If you just walk in there with your heritage, power and obvious training then I'm sure Zeus will see you as a threat. If you show you don't have any bad intentions by doing a quest or gaining friends in camp he's less likely to overreact and try to blast you to smithereens. I don't want to have to kill the king of Olympus because he tried to kill my baby boy," she said pinching my cheek at the end before I swiped her hand away.
"Fine," I relented knowing there was no way I'd talk her out of this, if there was one thing I knew about my mom it was that she could be stubborn as Hades (not that I'd tell her that).
"Good, you know the plan, you'll go to camp and your brother will claim you, I doubt it'd make you the most popular demigod there but none of your siblings would be particularly well received and as he's never had a child no one will know what powers you should have. " she told me holding my shoulders before pulling me into a hug. "Remember, I love you and I'm sure you'll make me proud." She said before kissing the top of my head.
"Yeah I'll be sure to remember that," I said sarcastically. "I love you too mom."
My mom smiled at me before waving her hand in front of my face and everything went black.
