Blurry vision, slipping in and out of consciousness while being dragged down the hallway on the wooden floors. An arm of blue fur wrapped around their leg, noticing the very figure was a massive toy that dragged them along to a living room, it tossed the person onto the hard wood floor, and skidding across it and collided into a couch
"Oh! A new playmate!" A female voice exclaimed in a fake cheerful tone, the person's eyes darted up to the ceiling as a spider like creature head looped dropped down, her green eyes staring directly into theirs, "it's been so long..." the pink spider rubber noodle doll moved closer to theirs which caused them to scoot back in fear until they hear the sound of a small footsteps heading straight toward him until a blinding light shines into the room and he is met with more monsters in the room staring down at them menacingly.
A Few Months Ago
An elderly man gets up from his bed, his eyes looking over to the sleeping purple fur at the end of his mattress, and gives a small chuckle and pets its head, "Good morning to you too, Catnap. Seems like you had another bad dream, didn't you?" The elderly man said to him; his big grin still present on his face when the cat-like creature nodded its head.
"The prototype still plagues my mind with its beliefs...I feel...like I..."
The old man pets the cat behind the ear and shakes his head.
"You were only believing in his false beliefs. Now, let's get out of bed and get some breakfast in our bellies before the others wake up."
Catnap gets up from the bed, taller than the elderly man and stretches his long limb arms and legs like a cat and follows behind the old man.
The old man walks into the kitchen with a tired expression on his face, slowly shifting his legs one at a time and goes to reach for the Coffee pot,
"Angel!"
A low intercom voice exclaimed in a worried tone and walked over to get the old man his coffee; it had slightly dirty orange fur and floppy ears, its mouth wide open like Catnaps, a few belts wrapped around its waist with stitches on it, and came over to the old man now sitting at the kitchen table.
"Why are you out of bed? Don't you know you are too old to get it yourself..."
The old man snickered softly, grabbed the coffee, and reached up to scratch behind the dog's ear, making its right foot stomp on the floor rapidly.
" I may be old, Dogday, I was still able to kick the prototype's ass."
Dogday let out a whine that sounded slightly similar to a dogs when sounding worried about their owner,
"Good morning my Angel."
A small child's voice said behind them; The childlike porcelain doll stood at the entrance to the kitchen, her long curly red tied in blue hair ties to make pigtails, wearing a light blue dress with blue ribbons on her dress; he reaches down and picks up the small doll,
"Poppy. Just call me Jay Honey or Mr, Honey. No need to call me 'Angel'"
Jay said in a light chuckle after the hell him and the others have been put through they kept calling him a 'Angel' or 'Poppy's Angel' after he got them all out of Playtime Co especially the ones who tried killing him,
"Goodness me! It seems like Poppy's angel doesn't like us calling him that. Mommy thinks he might be getting annoyed by his name."
A cheery voice said happily behind him; the female voice belonged to a large, pink, spider like woman that every child felt a motherly affection and her name is Mommy Long Legs as she stretches two of her arms and grabs some bread from the cabinet and plops four pieces into the toaster while DogDay and Catnap were trying to make breakfast,
"Good morning Marie, How did you and the others sleep?"
"Oh, we slept wonderfully without having to deal with the neverending trauma us toys suffered from being created and being apart of the Prototype."
Marie said n a fake cheerful tone making the other toys uncomfortable and get mixed reactions with Dogday looking down at the skillet on the stove, Catnap looking blankly as the thoughts of the prototype stabbing it's metal claw hand through his head, and Poppy looking at Marie with a look of disgust and anger,
"So, just the typical dreams we all had."
Jay chuckled softly until the toast popping out of the toaster, he tries to get up from the table but was pushed gently back onto his chair by Marie's hand,
"Mommy's got it."
Marie said and takes the bread out of the toaster and plops a few more into the toaster and steps aside as a large pair of footsteps are heard coming toward the kitchen,
"Ah, it seems like the rest of the toys woke up too."
Jay took a sip of his mug of coffee and looked around the kitchen table for the morning paper,
"Where is the morning paper?"
Jay asked in a fake huff; loud stomping rows of feet comes toward the kitchen and a large caterpillar like toy with its huge pupils and pug like features on its face with blue and purple fur and in its mouth was the morning newspaper wrapped in a orange plastic wrap covered in slobber,
"Good job PJ!"
Jay takes the newspaper out of his mouth and pets him an scratches his chin; PJ started to lick the old man's face happily and excitedly while a certain orange dog gotten a little jealous from hearing the affection PJ was getting from his 'Angel' and looked over his shoulder to see Catnap giving him a smug eye expression that said 'Jealousssss' making the dog let out a small huff causing Jay to focus his attention on him while Mommy left to take care of all the other toys with Catnap following leaving just Jay and Dogday to get breakfast ready for the toys,
"Dogday? Is everything alright?"
"I'm fine. Just worried about you is all after the hell me and the others put you through. . . I-I'm just worried about you. You saved us from the prototype at the risk of your health and wellbeing..."
The tall dog's distorted low voice said with a soft whimper escape and the toast pops out of the toaster he reaches for it but a elderly hand beats him to it. His eyes look down to the dark blue eyes of Jay who gave him those old smiles he use to give when he first save him and starts buttering and putting some jam on some of the toast,
"I appreciate the worry over me Dog Day. But, I am fine really. I'll be leaving to go visit family for a few weeks. So, I entrust you to babysit all the toys while I'm away."
"W-What!? Angel! I can't do that! I'm not a good leader after everything!"
"Dog Day. it's fine and you are going to do fin-"
"NO!"
Dogday screamed loudly, slamming the skillet down in anger almost spilling grease onto them both
"Angel...I'm sorry, I don't know if I am ready to be the leader again. I failed and lost my friends..."
The sound of sadness and tears forming in his eyes until the old man grabbed his paw and rubbed it,
"It wasn't your fault they died. It was Playtime Co. your paws and Catnaps aren't covered by their blood and The Hour of Joy was you guys rebelling against the people who tortured you."
Jay wrapped his arm around him and hugged him close and pats his paw. But, who could blame Dog day for feeling this way due to what Playtime Co had been doing underneath the factory for all those years. The screams, the blood, and the death of all those workers by the hands of the very monsters Angel saved and live here.
It had been years after the incident and Jay was fighting against the prototype even after everything, he still saved everyone that tried to kill him while they were under the beliefs of the Prototype, and Dogday couldn't help but crack a smile after everything that happened over the years. Jay pats Dogday in the back,
"Come on. Let's get everyone's breakfast to them before they try to eat each other...again."
Jay is at the front door with his luggage beside him surrounded by giant versions of the toys and waved goodbye to the toys when the taxi arrived to come take him to the airport to visit his family,
"Alright everyone, I'll be back after a few weeks. Dogday is in charge while I am gone. I'll see you all after a couple weeks."
Jay reached down to grab his duffle bag and suitcase and winced,
"Let me get that for you Angel!"
A worried Dogday said and helped him get his bags. He walked out of the door and waved goodbye to all the toys and shut the door. Being the last time they see him again.
