Cera was so focused on the light, she didn't notice that she was on the body of Sharptooth. She lost footing and slid down his stomach. It was only when she got a proper look, she realized it was him, who laid dead on his back. Cera screamed causing small rocks to fall and ran to a nearby rock. Quivering, she peeked only to realise, he wasn't moving, even when small rocks were falling on him. With a wicked smile, she got closer. As he was non responsive, Cera made a face, then rammed him.
She did it 3 more times before getting ready for the best one yet. Finally ready, she charged, but as she got closer, an eye opened, Cera herself reflecting it. When Cera saw this, she screamed, stopped herself and ran away. As for Sharptooth, he roared, rolled himself over to get himself up.
Taka, Littlefoot, Ducky and Petrie continued on their journey with Ducky hummin until Taka told her to be quiet and lay low and he could sense something. Taka and Littlefoot watched a Sharptooth with a sail for a back. They waited until it walked by. Taka had to admit, he had a new empathy for animals such as zebras and other prey who have to deal with lions. As they continued walking, Petrie hopped on Littlefoot's tail and scampered on his back, going into the tree star, making it fling into the air, while he landed on Littlefoot's nose.
"Ow! Hey! Petrie! Get off"!
"You got nice flat head, Flathead".
"My name is not Flathead. My name is Littlefoot".
Taka rolled his eyes as Petrie repeated the name and wrap the tree-star around himself.
"Are you just going to stay up there", asked Littlefoot whose eyes were blocked by the tree-star.
Taka laughed. "Why fly when he can get a free ride from you".
Littlefoot kept his attention on the flyer.
"Well, you can't. You're tearing my tree-star".
Petrie gasped made a wee sad noise, then Ducky explained. "It is very special. Very, his mother gave it to him… she did".
Petrie stated his agreement that it was very important and rolled it up and marched on his head, back and forth.
"Yep Petrie, you keep it safe. Yep, yep, yep".
Littlefoot didn't agree with Ducky. "Nope, nope, nope". Littlefoot then said he wasn't a carrier. Taka then told Petrie to hop in his back.
"You sure".
Taka nodded.
"Thank you… Me not know name".
"Taka".
"Taka, that a funny name".
"So is Petrie, do you want a lift or not".
"I'll take lift".
Taka nodded. "There, problem solved, now that we don't have any more trouble, let's go".
It didn't take long until they heard a scream. It was Cera running away. A curious Littlefoot, went to check, only for them to bump into each other. Cera was now on her back, taking several breaths before she made an angry face.
"Cera! It's you! What happened?
Petrie gave a gulp before Littlefoot continued. "Why are you so frightened"?
"Frightened? Me"? She bowled past him with a laugh, while he was panting. "Why are you so frightened"?
Taka decided to ask his own question. "You were running away screaming. What from"?
"That's what I came to tell you. I could be with the other threehorns, but I chose to come back to warn you".
Taka was annoyed by the pride in her voice. "About what"?
"I met the Sharptooth"!
Petrie let out a shrill. "Sharptooth. Ooh"! He clung to the back of Taka's neck. Littlefoot didn't believe her. "Come on, Cera. Sharptooth is dead. He fell down into the big underground".
Taka gave a shocked look that said he knew she wasn't lying.
"And that's… where he met me".
Taka cut her off. "And you ran away screaming, no shame in the running part, the screaming part though will only attract more predators, but then again he is very terrifying".
Cera was now annoyed. "I was not running away screaming".
Littlefoot replied. "We heard you".
Taka turned to Littlefoot, ignoring her. Usually, he wouldn't be this brave. But the truth was, it was because Littlefoot would protect him from her. That's where his bravery came from. "I think she's telling the truth about Sharptooth being alive. Not even she would make up such a tale".
Littlefoot wasn't convinced. "Sharptooth is dead"!
Cera smirked. "My father told me that flatheads had very small brains".
Taka smirked back. "The only small brain around here is you".
Cera was getting fed up with him. "Tell me you thing, can you back up those big words".
Taka continued smirking. "First, I'm a lion. Try to remember that. And unlike you, I can admit my weaknesses. I lack brawn, but I make up for it in thinking. You know how the world works, the ones with brains like me and Littlefoot lead, while those with brawn like you, simply follow orders".
Cera growled. "I don't take orders from you or him". She angrily hopped on a broken log that Ducky also happened to be standing on and sent her flying into the air.
As they went after Ducky, Littlefoot called her name while Taka turned to Cera. "You're only here less than five minutes and we already have to go searching because of you".
It wouldn't take long to find her, but Taka was surprised that she found a recently hatched spiketail that she named Spike. So recently hatched that Ducky actually saw it and helped break the egg to free him. Personally, Taka thought the name was silly. It would be like naming a lion, Lion. But she found him, so fair enough.
They would continue to walk, although Taka found them an odd combination and what was weird was, he felt this would have happened even had he not been about. In his own world, these events have already happened, excluding him. But he has no idea how their journey ended. He was currently beside Spike who followed Ducky who was sitting on Littlefoot's tail and who used berries to make Spike follow.
