Taka woke up thinking about the choice he made. It could be considered suicidal to stay in a place like this. Yet he chose too anyway. As he got up, he heard a noise. So, did Cera, who stirred and raised her head. Blinking her eyes open, her and Taka looked to see what the problem was. They saw Sharptooth and tried to alert their friends.

"Wake up. Wake up".

Taka nudged Spike. "Get up and stay quiet".

Cera nudged Littlefoot. He looked annoyed. "Hey, stop that".

Taka got his attention, speaking as quietly as he could. "Sharptooth is here. We need to move". Taka bit Spike, making him wake in shock and land on top of Ducky and Petrie. "We need to move, now. Come on".

Taka and Cera sprinted off. "Taka, Sharptooth is dead".

A large shadow loomed over the kids and Littlefoot gasped in horror. He and the other 3, fled the footprint. Sharptooth stepped in it crushing the tree star.

They shouted things as they ran but Taka paid them no attention, he was focused on the predator that chased them.

Heading to an opening, first was Cera, Spike struggled to get through. Taka watched Littlefoot flee from Sharptooth who was catching up. Littlefoot and him pushed Spike, while Sharptooth leaped. His belly on the ground, in an attempt to catch them, They, got through the hole and the only thing that could be seen was his snout.

The kids rolled down the rocks, then hit the ground. Cera got up to look at their attacker who only his snout and teeth were visible.

"Now will you believe me"?

"I'm sorry", he apologized to her. "We're safe now".

"Nobody's safe with you".

Once he got a chance to look, he gasped. "Look, it's the rock that looks like a longneck, just like my mother said. We're going the right way, the way to the Great Valley".

Taka thought things would be easy, now that Sharptooth wasn't around. He was wrong. Later on, they were climbing and Taka struggled due to his lack of strength. And the falling ashes only made him annoyed.

Littlefoot looked back to see they were exhausted. He was too. But they needed to keep going. "Come on, get up. We're going the right way. We gotta keep moving up".

While Spike and Ducky tried to get up, Taka simply landed on his side.

"Oh, you can't quit now. What if the Great Valley's just over the top of these rocks"?

When they finally reached the top, they were displeased with what they saw.

"This is your Great Valley!? YOU'RE CRAZY! I'm leaving".

Taka rolled his eyes. "Oh no, how will we cope without you. I miss you already".

Cera was going to walk away, but now, she got in his face. "You have done nothing but insult me and you're only so brave because you can hide behind Littlefoot".

"You're like my brother Mufasa, always giving out insults, but doesn't like it when it's being done to him".

Cera glared back. "No wonder he picks on you. With that mouth on you".

Littlefoot glared at her. "Don't talk to him like that. And we need to follow the Bright Circle".

"I'm takin the easy way for once". With her head held high, she walked away, but Littlefoot blocked her and got in her face. "But it's the wrong way".

"Don't bother Littlefoot, she won't listen".

She ignored Taka and answered Littlefoot. "Who says"?

My mother".

"Then she was a stupid longneck, too".

Taka gasped at what she said. He didn't think she would strike that low.

"Taka that back", demanded Littlefoot.

"Never".

"TAKE IT BACK"!

"NO"!

Furious, Littlefoot tackled Cera and they both rolled down the slope. Spike went to follow them. Ducky was worried. "Spike". Taka ran to stop Spike but instead he ran into him, making the 4 go down too.

Taka quickly recovered and saw Cera charge at Littlefoot. "You"! Cera rammed Littlefoot, knocking him into a rock column.

The others watched in horror. "Let go of my leg", yelled Cera. Cera was knocked back into a rock. Before she could react, Taka jumped in her back and put his claws into her. She screeched in pain and knocked him off. Cera charged at him. She only wanted to knock him over, but she hit him in the eye with her horn, leaving a scar on his face, over his left eye. All gasped at what they saw. Littlefoot forgot that he was angry. Cera herself was horrified by what she did, but she refused to apologise.

Taka took the chance to spoke. "His mother is dead! She saved your life; you might be too proud to admit it but it's true. And yet you insult her memory, without hesitation. You know if you want to blame someone for your problems it should be me, Sharptooth chased me, I brought him to you two, if you want to hate someone for your problems, then take it out on me. She wasn't a stupid longneck, she died because of me. It's my fault"!

Taka burst into tears and Littlefoot went over to comfort him. The others didn't know what to say. Cera simply walked off. Littlefoot didn't bother to try and stop her. He nudged Taka. "Come on. We have to keep going". Littlefoot and Taka both went up the slope, the others didn't follow. Taka spoke before Littlefoot did. "You're going with her, aren't you"?

Ducky spoke. "Cera's way is easier".

Taka sighed. "This is the easy way that we're on".

Petrie answered him. "Then why we not find Great Valley"?

Littlefoot scowled and Taka sighed and they continued.

Petrie leaped onto the slope. "Flathead, Taka, wait".

Taka sighed. "We'll see each other again at the Great Valley… possibly".

Petrie didn't try to follow them after that. Spike was already following Cera and Ducky shouted. "Cera! Wait for us! We're coming with you, Cera".

Taka sighed. They groups went separate ways. Taka didn't want any of them to get killed, not even Cera. He quicky forgot the pain his new scar gave him.

Author's Note

I considered having Sharptooth be the one to give Taka his scar, but it was quicky shot down. If Sharptooth clawed his face, it would be more damage than a simple scar.
