"I think we're in luck", said Grandma. "There's still quite a few green treestars left here".

Grandpa spoke. "Come on, then. Let's eat"!

"Yeah", said an eager Littlefoot. Let's eat"! He got to the low hanging branches. He sniffed them.

"Are you really going to eat those? I'm no herbivore or leafeater as you call yourselves but even I would advise against it".

Littlefoot was pleased to hear that familiar voice.

He turned to see the cub behind him. "Taka"?

The elder longnecks were pleased to see him too,

"I know Topps said not to play with you, but he didn't actually say anything about talking. Anyway, are you really going to eat those".

"I don't want to, but I'm starving".

"I'd check around to be sure before you eat those".

Grandpa looked to see a tree, nearly empty. But there were some green treestars left. "Here, Littlefoot, try these. They're still very green". He used his mouth to remove the branch and bring down to his grandson.

"Thanks Grandpa".

"Go on, Littlefoot, eat up", said Grandma.

"But… But what about you? Don't you want some"?

"Thank you, Littlefoot. But Grandpa and I will be fine".

Grandpa agreed. "Yes, you're still growing. You need the very best green food we can find".

"Well, okay".

Taka watched as Littlefoot had, one, then the second. "Hunger satisfied".

Littlefoot nodded. "Yeah, but I sure am thirsty". He turned to his grandparents.

Taka sighed. You need to wait your turn. Turns, that's ridiculous. My parents wouldn't handle it like that. They might be terrible parents, but there are somewhat decent king and queen".

Littlefoot's Grandpa agreed.

"Personally, I don't like it either, but it's what we all agreed on".

"With all due respect I think it was silly for you all to agree to that. I know that I and Cera already got our share, but there's other kids, waiting. My friends are waiting and it doesn't seem fair that some grown ups are getting it before the children.

"Personally, I agree, in fact, we never actually said that the children should have the same retractions as the elders".

Taka sighed. "I don't think Topps will change his mind on the subject".

Later on, Taka was right.

"It's not your time to drink, longnecks"!

"What do you mean, not our time"?

"We agreed that all the herds must take turns drinking and the watering hole".

Yes, we all agreed, but I didn't think that it included the children", Grandpa Longneck admitted. "It really isn't fair to them".

Topps wouldn't change his mind on the issue. "There is no fair when it comes to survival"!

Taka suddenly heard music.

As for Topps. He noticed a clubtail take a drink.

He saw Topps come at him.

"When life is tough, you gotta be tougher. If you wanna stay alive"! The clubtail ran away. "When the trail gets rough, you gotta get rougher. To help your family survive". Some ducktails saw him toss the rock and came closer as he sang. "You can't run around in circles. Wondering what to do, someone's got to be the voice of reason is you or you"?

He gave the first 2 to the ducktails then looked back at the elderly longnecks. "Or you"?

Taka had to admit, he sure could sing.

"When things around us are going bad, we all better be strong. We could lose everything we have, if this goes on too long. Don't stand around here talking! I say that's not enough. No tears, no sighs, don't close your eyes. We gotta stand tough. I used to hear my father say, stand and fight, don't run away. He made me what I am today. I'm here. And I'm tough. When times are hard, you better be harder. You don't know what's in store".

One of the ducktails and another dinosaur made their way over to the elderly longnecks. It seemed to Taka that not everyone was buying into the song.

"You think your smart? You gotta be smarter than you ever were before. You say I'm mean; you say why bother? Well, I have a daughter and I'm her father. I'm gonna make sure we all have water enough, that's why I'm tough. I'm standing tough! We've got to stand tough"! He got in the face of two with the elderly longnecks. "You don't like it? Tough".

The 2 glared and simply walked away and Topps had a proud expression.

Taka knew that Ahadi would love this song.

Littlefoot looked as his reflection when he heard a familiar voice. "Littlefoot! Taka"!

That caught the attention of both. "Huh"?

"Over here".

They saw Cera behind a log.

"Hurry"!

Littlefoot and Taka looked at the adults who were busy bickering.

Taka blocked out their words and made his way with Littlefoot over to Cera.

"Oh, what are we gonna do about the grown ups you two? They're acting like babies"!

Littlefoot agreed. "I know".

Taka sighed. "It seems they want to focus on diplomacy. I say we take action".

Littlefoot liked the idea. Cera was confused. "What do you mean"?

"They this is all the water we have. But they just aren't looking hard enough. In fact, they won't look at all. I say we take over this matter. If all they want to do is argue, then we do what they should have already. We search for water. And we should take Ducky, Petrie and Spike too".

It was night when they all got together.

Littlefoot asked. "Are we all here"?

"Yep, yep, yep. We are all here".

Taka shook his head. "Are you sure"?

"Oh, no, we are not! Where's Spike"?

"Well don't ask me. He's not my brother".

Ducky scampered past Cera and hopped into the bottom of a tree. "Oh, Spike! Where are you, little brother"? A noise got her attention. It also scared Petrie. "What that? It sound like monster".

Taka sighed. "Would you relax. It's only snoring and it's obvious whose it is".

Ducky nodded. "That is his sleeping sounds. Come on, I will show you".

She led them to Spike who was asleep as Taka predicted. He was even blowing leaves with his snoring.

"See"!

Littlefoot laughed. "You're right Ducky".

Ducky tried and failed to push Spike. "Get up, silly. This is not nap time. This is get up time".

Petrie opened Spike's eye. "You wake up now, okay, Spike"?

Petrie fell off, but as Spike moved his head. "Oh, Spike, up".

He grabbed and hugged Petrie while still asleep.

"Spike, no"! She tried to get Petrie out of his grip. She was a bit to successful and he landed on Littlefoot's face.

"Are you okay, Petrie".

Taka was amused enough and had a trick of his own. "Spike wake up or you'll miss breakfast".

That suddenly woke him up.

Littlefoot laughed. "Nice trick".

"Thank you. Now about the water. We need to find it".

"Don't worry, Taka. We'll find it. I just know we will".

"We better! Because if our parents stay mad any longer, I'm just gonna scream", said Cera.

Ducky giggled. "Oh, I will scream too".

Taka looked to Petrie. "What's your scream like"?

"Like this". He did a few shrill screams, while he pounded his chest. Much to the amusement of everyone else.

"What about you, Spike", asked Littlefoot.

Spike grunted deeply.

Then they all ran and laughed and fake screamed.

Later on, Petrie was curious. "How we find water, Littlefoot".

"We smell for it, silly".

Ducky laughed. "Oh, yes! Smell for it! With our noses". She laughed a 2nd time. "I know how to do that".

She sniffed around and the others soon joined in.

Spike sniffed so hard, that he pulled Petrie onto his face.

"No smell so hard, okay, Spike"?

He nodded with the flyer still on his nose.

They all sniffed and Ducky who was on Cera's back laughed again.

"This is serious, Ducky".

Taka backed Cera. "I'll admit it was fun, but we need to put the joking aside and focus now on finding water".

"Oh, yes, Taka, I know! I know".
