/If anyone is confused how you'd be able to use pendulum with a power vision duel disk, hard light constructed zones, just like the blades on an Arc-V duel disk.
BTW: if you see {Plus} at anytime during this story, it means the plus sign as for some reason this platform does not like that symbol.
Also one last note: the duel tend to be a bit short because it's an OC using decks that are meant to be in an 8000 LP format, in a 4000 LP format.\
Chapter 4: Birds of Prey
Osrelios slowly woke up. Grabbing his glasses and placing them on his face, he lets out a big yawn.
Getting up with a groggy look, he makes his way to the kitchen to pull out leftover pancakes from the previous day.
"Still sleepy Huh, young one?" A voice sounded out.
Looking to his side, Oz saw a much, much smaller version of his Timelord ace: Sephylon.
"Yeah. Never was good with waking up in the morning in my previous world." Oz responded.
"I believe the phrase was: not a morning person?"
"That's exactly the phrase."
Sephylon disappeared back to the Spirit Realm as Oz continued with his morning routine.
Once Oz was done, he looked through his pantry and saw he was missing some ingredients and some snacks. "Time to go shopping I guess. Luckily it's the weekend and I don't have to attend classes."
Oz then grabbed his duel disk and decks, as well as the card connecting to his bank account. He then grabbed the keys to his apartment and left the apartment after locking it.
Oz was at the mall, just getting done with shopping.
Oz then leaned back on a wall, setting his shopping bags down. He then lets out a big yawn, still a little groggy.
He then heard someone's breath hitch, and the sound of shoes scraping on the ground.
Oz lazily opened an eye and saw Yuya and Yuzu looking at him shocked.
"'Sup Tomato head." Oz greeted.
The nonchalant and lazy greeting caused the duo to double take.
"What?" Oz asked.
The two then snap out of their shock.
"Sorry, it's just that we didn't think of running into you here." Yuya said.
"I can tell. Your pale." Oz observed.
Yuya looked at his hand and saw it was pale.
"Don't tell me, your afraid of me aren't you?"
Oz took an abrupt step forward, the action immediately caused Yuya to flinch.
Oz then stepped back. "Listen. Your discovery of Pendulum has brought forth a new era. Like it or not, people are going to want to use Pendulum as well. Your desire to keep Pendulum for yourself is selfish, so how about a change? Why not instead, you try and become the face of Pendulum? Go down as the best Pendulum user?"
"The best Pendulum user..." Yuya repeated.
Oz then let out an even bigger yawn.
"Did you even sleep last night?" Yuzu asked.
"I did. But unfortunately I'm not a morning person." Oz replied.
"But it's 9 am." Yuzu stated.
"As I said. Not a morning person." Oz reiterated.
Oz then pulled out a blank card. He then threw it to Yuya who fumbled trying to catch it.
"What's this?" Yuya asked.
"Keep it in your extra deck. When the time is right, it'll answer your call."
"Answer my call? What does that mean?"
"Nothing you need to worry about for now. Anyway, I expect to see you at the championship. I'm already qualified, I expect you to do the same." Oz said as he picked up his bags and left.
Yuya just stared at the blank card before smiling and putting it in his extra deck.
"Your really going to keep that card? There's nothing on it." Yuzu stated.
"I know, but something tells me it will be useful later on. Besides, now I know he's not actually that bad. Maybe I can become friends with him."
Osrelios was walking down the street, minding his own business and humming some tunes, when he heard something, or rather someone land near him.
"You! Your part of LDS aren't you!?" The person said.
Oz turned and saw Shun Kurosaki.
"... No." Oz denied.
"Don't you lie to me!" Shun yelled. He then held up his duel disk with a glare. "I saw your pin yesterday! Your a part of LDS! And now I'll duel some answers out of you!"
Oz sighed. Setting down his bags, he grabs one of his decks. 'I'll need to play it safe against angry bird here.'
"Duel!" The two shout.
Osrelios LP: 4000
Shun LP: 4000
"I'll start!" Oz declared. "I start this duel with a simple play. Since I control no monsters, I can summon this card without tribute. Come forth Lazion the Timelord!"
Lazion appeared from thin air.
Lazion the Timelord: atk: 0
"A zero atk monster? What are you mocking me!?" Shun yelled.
Oz ignored him and continued his turn. "I set 3 cards and end my turn."
"My turn! Draw!" Shun declared.
Oz smirked. "The first time each turn that my opponent draws a card, Lazion deals them 1000 damage."
Lazion's arms moved to be facing away from Shun, revealing that the arms were hollow. Flames then erupt from the arms hitting Shun.
Shun LP: 3000 hand: 6
Shun just growls in response.
"I summon RaidRaptor - Vanishing Lanius." Shun declared. "With its effect I call forth another copy, and with that copy's effect, I summon my third copy."
RaidRaptor - Vanishing Lanius x3: atk: 1300
'I forgot that in the early parts of the anime, he kept getting lucky and drew all three copies of that monster.'
"Now, Vanishing Lanius will attack your monster." Shun declared.
"Not good enough!" Oz shouted. "Lazion can not be destroyed by battle, additionally, I take no damage in battles involving it."
Vanishing Lanius charges Lazion, only to be backhanded by the Timelord.
Vanishing Lanius then returned to its original position.
"I set two cards and end my turn." Shun growled out.
"My turn! Draw!" Oz declared.
Osrelios LP: 4000 hand: 2
"Now, during the standby phase, my Timelord returns to my deck." Oz explained as Lazion turned into a red beam before the beam flew right into Oz' deck.
Oz looked at his hand, and the cards he has set, before he made a move, he noticed a glowing coming from his extra deck.
He takes a look through it, and notices the blank card that replaced Final Sigma was the cause of the glowing. All of a sudden, Oz gets a vision.
In the vision he sees a the shadow of what appears to be a dragon.
Snapping out of the vision, Oz makes his move.
"I activate my face down! Metal Reflect Slime!"
"Not so fast! Counter trap! Raptor's Gust! I negate your card!" Shun countered.
Oz grit his teeth slightly. "In that case, I'll use my other facedown card: Celestial Transformation! I can summon a fairy type monster from my hand under the conditions that it's atk is halved and it is destroyed during the end phase. Come forth, Kamion the Timelord!"
A light shines down from the sky, revealing Kamion floating down.
"Now I summon the tuner monster: Plaguespreader Zombie."
The grotesque zombie appeared.
"Tuner. That means he must be a friend of Pawn of Fusion." Shun said.
Osrelios, who heard what Shun said got confused but didn't show it. 'How would being able to Synchro Summon make me friends with Yugo? Isn't that technically racial profiling? Actually now that I think about it early Shun is definitely in a way, a racial profiler... is that a word? Anyway he treats anyone from the Standard Dimension with hostility, even though they are all innocent people, and I'm sure he probably thinks everyone from the Fusion Dimension are evil. That has got to be prejudice at its finest, or ugliest whichever is the better descriptor... wait I've gone off track.'
Snapping out of his thoughts, Oz continues with his strategy.
"I tune my level 10 Kamion with my level 2 plaguespreader!" Oz declared.
Plaguespreader flies up and transforms into 2 green rings, Kamion soon follows and transforms into 10 stars aligning with the rings.
"Beyond the far reaches of time lies a dormant power. Watch as that power forms into a mighty dragon! I Synchro Summon! Level 12: Galaxy-Eyes Chrono Dragon!" Oz chants.
A beam of light consumes the rings and stars and from it a dragon that looks very similar to Galaxy-Eyes Solflare Dragon emerges.
The dragon only looks similar to Solflare in shape. It's color undertakes a green hue for its skin in contrast to the orange hue for Solflare's skin. The armor of Chrono is white in color. The ring that connects to the panel like wings on Solflare's back is up higher on Chrono, making it like the position for Deep-Eyes White Dragon's ring. And instead of panel like wings, Chrono's 6 wings are more round and actually wing like, similar to that of a biblically accurate Angel. In the center of the ring, energy lines form two clock hands.
Galaxy-Eyes Chrono Dragon: level: 12, atk: 3500, Def: 3000, attribute: Light, Type: Dragon
Summon conditions: 1 tuner {plus} one or more non-tuner monsters
Effect: Must first be Synchro summoned. When this card is summoned; place 4 Clock Counters on this card. This card can not be destroyed by battle or by card effects while it has a Clock Counter on it. Once per turn; during this card's controller's end phase: remove one Clock Counter from this card, otherwise destroy it. Once per turn; you can activate this effect: your opponent can not activate cards or their effects until the end phase, also negate the effects of one monster your opponent controls (if any) and this card gains that monster's effects, until the end of this turn. Your opponent can not activate cards or effects in response to this card's effects.
The dragon then floats behind Osrelios, letting out a loud roar.
Oz stares at the dragon in awe. 'This card isn't supposed to exist, yet... I can't help but feel like it's something I've known for a long time. Not to mention how majestic it is.'
Shun then makes a fist. "Galaxy-Eyes..." he mutters.
Shun then looks at Oz with a burning hatred in his eyes. "How dare you turn my friend's cherished monster against us!" He shouts.
'If he's angry now, just wait until he sees Tachyon.' Oz thought to himself.
"Galaxy-Eyes Chrono Dragon's effect activates! When this card is summoned, it gains 4 Clock Counters. You see, Chrono comes from a very unstable power, meaning it can't stay on the field for long. It loses a Clock Counter during my end phases, and if it no longer have a Clock Counter, then it automatically self destructs." Oz explained.
Galaxy-Eyes Chrono Dragon: Clock Counters: 4
"So I just have to outlast it and it will destroy itself." Shun summarized.
"Yeah, you could put it like that. However, on the contrary, as long as Chrono has at least 1 Clock Counter, it can not be destroyed by battle or by effects." Oz said with a smirk.
"Troublesome..." Shun mutters.
"Now! I activate Galaxy-Eyes Chrono Dragon's effect! I can make it so you can not activate cards or their effects for the rest of this turn! Go Chrono Dragon! Chronostasis!" Oz shouts.
"In that case I'll-" shun began but was interrupted.
"You'll do nothing! You can't activate cards or effects in response to Chrono Dragon!" Oz counters.
"What!?" Shun exclaimed.
Chrono's wings start to shine, the beams of green light shoot out from the wings and hits Shun's field.
"Additionally, Chrono can negate and absorb the effects of one of your monsters, although that doesn't matter right now since I wouldn't be able to use Vanishing Lanius' effect." Oz explained.
Shun growls again.
"Now Galaxy-Eyes Chrono Dragon, attack Vanishing Lanius! Chrono Burst of Destruction!"
Energy gathered in Chrono's wings, before being transferred to its mouth. Chrono then shot out a green energy blast in the typical dragon breath attack.
The blast consumed one of the Vanishing Lanius.
Shun LP: 800
"Now I end my turn. And with it, Chrono loses a Clock Counter." Oz explained.
The energy lines that look like clock hands shift and position themselves to the 3 o'clock position of an analog clock.
Galaxy-Eyes Chrono Dragon: Clock Counters: 3
"My turn!" Shun yelled as he drew his card.
Shun LP: 800 hand: 2
Shun looks at the cards in his hand before nodding to himself.
"I overlay my two Vanishing Lanius! With them, I construct the Overlay Network!" Shun declared.
"Avian hunter of the afterlife, seek the truth with your dark eyes, and grasp glory with your sharp talons! XYZ summon! Take flight! Rank 4: RaidRaptor - Force Strix!" Shun chanted.
Force Strix flew in and took a defensive position.
RaidRaptor - Force Strix: Def: 2000
"Now I activate Rank-Up-Magic Skip Force!" Shun declared.
'Oh no.' Oz paled.
"This allows me to use a RaidRaptor XYZ monster to summon one that is 2 ranks higher! With this one monster, I reconstruct the Overlay Network! Prideful falcon. Spread your wings, dyed in the blood of heroes, and charge through the path of revolution! Rank Up XYZ Change! Appear! Rank 6! RaidRaptor - Revolution Falcon!"
RaidRaptor - Revolution Falcon descended on the field.
RaidRaptor- Revolution Falcon: atk: 2000 overlay units: 3
"Battle! Revolution Falcon! Revolution Air Raid!" Shun shouts.
Revolution Falcon flies up into the sky as its compartments on its mechanical wings open up.
"When Revolution Falcon battles a special summoned monster, that monster's atk and Def are reduced to zero!" Shun explains.
The jet like parts of Revolution Falcon's wings shoot fire at Chrono Dragon.
Galaxy-Eyes Chrono Dragon: atk: 0
Revolution Falcon then started to drop a bunch of missiles from the wing compartments.
The missiles hit Chrono Dragon head on.
Oz is sent flying from the attack. "Ahh!" He shouts in pain.
Osrelios LP: 2000
"I end my turn." Shun declared.
Oz struggled back to his feet. "My turn. I draw!"
Osrelios LP: 2000 hand: 1
'Even if Chrono wasn't destroyed, its atk and Def are now Zero, so I can only use it for its effect.'
Oz looked at his Newly drawn card. 'Golden-Eyes Idol... Wait! That's it!'
"First I'll start by using Chrono's effect! Chronostasis! Next, I summon my Golden-Eyes Idol!"
Golden-Eyes Idol: atk: 0
"What's a simple level 1 monster with no atk going to do?" Shun questions.
"This!" Osrelios shouts. "I overlay my one level 1 monster! With it, I construct the overlay network!"
"With one monster!?" Shun says suprised.
"Dark creature, one of the predecessors to the Illusions. Gather your power through the offering of a single soul, and take to the field to throw our enemies into chaos! XYZ summon! Rank 1: Relinquished Anima!"
Relinquished Anima appears from the shadows.
Relinquished Anima: Rank: 1, Atk: 0, Def: 0, attribute: Dark, Type: Spellcaster
Summon conditions: 1 level 1 monster
Effect: You can target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; equip that face-up monster to this card (max. 1). You can only use this effect one per turn. This card gains atk equal to the atk of the monsters equipped to it. If this card would be destroyed (by battle or by card effect); you can detach one material from this card instead.
Oz stated at his monster for a second. 'XYZ summoning a Link monster. How funny.'
Oz then turned back towards Shun.
"I activate Relinquished Anima's effect! Once per turn, it can absorb one of your monsters!"
"It can what!?" Shun says in shock.
"Go! Anima Absorption!"
Anima started to inhale from its gaping mouth. Revolution Falcon tried to fly away, but couldn't get far and got sucked in.
"One last thing. Anima gains the atk of all monsters equipped to it." Oz explained.
Relinquished Anima: atk: 2000
"Now go, Anima! Attack him directly! Corrupted copy blast!" Oz shouts.
Anima opened its hands all the way, and two missiles just like the ones Revolution Falcon uses form. The two missiles fire out and hit Shun head on.
Shun LP: 0
Shun, who was sent to the ground from the attack, gets up and glares at Oz.
"This isn't over!" He declares.
Shun then started to dash, and jumped up to the roof of a nearby building before taking off.
Oz watched him run off, before turning to his two monsters.
First he turned to Anima.
"It's nice to finally summon you, Anima."
"And it is an honor to fight by your side." Anima replied.
Oz then turned to Chrono.
"So... nice to meet you, I guess?"
"Is something wrong master?" Chrono asked.
"No, no. Nothing's wrong. It's just that, all the cards I've used so far exist in my world, all of them except for you. Where do you come from? Why do I have your card?"
"Simple. I am a hidden power that was lost a long time ago, it was thanks to your connection to Tachyon, and your dueling energy that I was able to reawaken."
Tachyon then appeared in spirit form. "It is great to see you again brother."
"It is indeed, brother." Chrono responded.
The monsters then faded back into the Spirit Realm.
Oz then looks around for a moment, before grabbing his bags and leaving the area.
Over at LDS, Declan had just finished watching over the footage of Oz' duel against Shun.
"So Osrelios has dueled a resident of the XYZ Dimension." Declan stated.
"Sir." Claude said. "The energy that was released due to Osrelios' two extra deck monsters is something that I have to bring attention to."
"What about them?" Declan asked.
"The XYZ monster he summoned, while still giving of XYZ energy, also had another strange energy reading. Our scanners could only barely pick it up, so we can't identify what it is. It's almost like the card used to be something else, but that's impossible."
"Alright. That is interesting. Perhaps Osrelios had to change it to has it is now, his summon chant did mention that it is a predecessor to the Illusions, possibly meaning his Illusion monsters. What about his dragon?"
"The summoning energy on that dragon is unusually high. I theorize it is higher than the energy released by a denizen of the Synchro Dimension." Claude explained.
Declan then let out a small chuckle. "We've certainly made ourselves an interesting ally.
