Rise of the Reaper part 1: a guardian has risen

A lone ghost flew for what seems like forever until it found a pile of bones just laying on the snow-covered ground. "There you are," it said as there was a bright flash of light. I gasped as I felt myself breathe in as I sat up to see the item of my resurrection. "It worked!" It said, "you're alive!" I shook the cobwebs out of my head as I stood up. "I'm a ghost, well now I'm YOUR ghost," it said, "and you, well let's just say you've been dead a very long time." I shook my head again in disbelief. "Wait, I was dead?" I asked, confused. My ghost blinked it's only eye. "Now isn't the time to argue," my ghost said, "this is fallen territory, we aren't safe here." My ghost flew around a few seconds before flying towards me. "Hold still," he said, then vanished before speaking again. "I'm still with you," he said, "but we have to move fast!" I dusted my ass off before running as fast as I could into the opening of the wall. My ghost reappeared, acting as my flashlight because let's put it this way: I don't want to be tripping and falling over anything. As soon as my ghost turns on the lights and raises a gate, I see an old rifle. "I hope this gun still works," I said as I picked it up and checked the magazine to see if it still had ammo for me to use; luckily for me, it did. "Alright, time to light them up like fireworks!" I said as I went to town on them. As I walked further into the area, I spotted a chest and kicked it open. Inside the chest was some weird currency and a fully loaded pump-action shotgun. "Jackpot!" I said as I picked up the shotgun and proceeded around the next corner to see bright red beams and groaned. "Let me guess, trip mines?" I inquired. My ghost confirmed that they were indeed trip mines and that I shouldn't touch them. I navigated my way past the trip mines and the enemies that followed until I was out in the open. "This was once an old cosmodrome," my ghost told me, "a ticket to the moon and beyond." Then, I noticed a red flare shoot up. "I'm guessing that's bad?" I asked. My ghost nodded in agreement. "Fallen ships this close to the surface!" My ghost stated, "we gotta move faster." As I picked up my pace from a walk to almost a sprint, my ghost chimed in and said that there was an old jumpship nearby. Under my helmet, I smirk. Once I have eyes on the old ship, I throw my newly acquired grenade, which blinded the enemies for me to easily kill them. Once the area was clear, my ghost flew up to the ship and began scanning it. "This ship hasn't made a jump in centuries," he said, "we're lucky the Fallen haven't completely picked it clean." I nod. "Will it fly?" I ask. My ghost turned to me and nodded. "I can make it work," he said as he disappeared into the ship, and sure enough, the engines roared to life. I smile under my helmet. "Okay, it's not going to break orbit, but it might be able to reach the city," my ghost said, "now, about that transmat." I turn around to see more Fallen come out. "Uh, ghost," I said, "hurry up!" I back up, my eyesight shifting from one enemy to the other before my ghost teleports me inside the cockpit of the ship. "We'll come back for them when you're ready," my ghost tells me, "for now, let's get you home." As we took off towards the tower, a lone hooded figure was watching our departure from the cosmodrome. As the ship flies towards the tower on autopilot, I remove my helmet. "So ghost," I asked him, "you got a name?" My ghost shook. "I was never given a name," it said, "were you planning on giving me one, guardian?" I laughed. "I thought about naming you Isaac, but that just sounds stupid," I said, "but then i thought about the name Rev." My ghost blinked. "Why that name?" My ghost said. I chuckled. "The reasoning behind that name is because I remember my favorite band's drummer went by the Rev, so yeah," I said laughing. My ghost thought about it for a second. "I like it, now that you explained it," Rev said, "but what should I call you?" I thought about it for a solid minute before an idea popped into my head. "How about Reaper?" I said. My ghost blinked. "Sounds interesting, but why that name?" Rev asked me. I laughed. "Reason why is because Reaper was a badass sniper and he was a steady shot, like I am." Rev thought about it before agreeing with me.
