Chapter 31

Honeymoon 2

The air had the aroma of roasting chestnuts as we left the hotel. Edward, his arm wrapped protectively around mine, as I guided him. through the bustling streets of New York. We took in the sights, and Jasper, ever the observant one, shared them through vivid descriptions that painted a picture in Edward's mind.

Edward chuckled. "You always have a way with words, Jasper."

"I'm so glad we get to experience New York after everything that happened the last time we were here," Alice said, her eyes alight with excitement. "It's a city full of life, love, and the kind of adventure that makes your heart race."

Edward leaned into me, his voice a soft melody. "I can't imagine it without you here to feel it with me."

We approached the Rockefeller Center, Edward could feel the anticipation thrumming through me.

"Excited, love?" He smiled.

"Yes!"

My hand tightened around his arm. "I can feel your excitement," Edward said. He knew I was smiling, the joy in his face was noticeable.

Alice tugged on Edward's hand "Come on, lovebirds," she teased.

Edward took a deep breath, the scent of the city invigorating him. "Alright," he said, a smile playing on his lips. "Let's go make some memories."

"Hold on, Alice," I said, "Let's go, Love."

Together, we walked further into Rockefeller Center, Alice's laughter was contagious, so we joined in her happiness.

We walked around and took a lot of photos. We basically acted like foolish newlyweds we were, hugging and holding each other close. We even dared to take some photos kissing.

The afternoon cooled slightly as we left the Rockefeller Center, the wind playing with our hair and the sounds of the city invigorating us. Edward's hand slipped into mine smiling.

"Next stop, the Empire State Building," Edward said, his voice filled with excitement.

We hailed a taxi, the yellow light illuminating their faces as they climbed in. During the ride Jasper continued narrating everything to Edward, painting a picture of the towering skyscrapers, and summery landscape. I felt a surge of gratitude for our friend's vivid descriptions, I smiled and was satisfied with the way he brought the city to life for him.

As we reached the Empire State Building, the cool metal of the elevator doors opened, revealing a world of light and shadow. The elevator ascended, the city shrinking beneath us. When we stepped out onto the observation deck, the wind whipped at our faces.

Alice gasped. "It's so...so beautiful."

"It's like we're on top of the world," I murmured.

Edward nodded in unspoken understanding that this was a moment we would never forget. He leaned into me, his breathing ragged because of the altitude.

We stood there for what felt like an eternity, "I can't believe we're actually here," Edward whispered, his voice barely audible over the whipping wind.

I squeezed his hand. "I can't either. But I'm so happy we are."

Jasper broke the silence with a chuckle. "I feel like we're in a movie."

"More like a fairy tale," Alice corrected him, her voice gentle rumble. "And Edward and Jasper are our fearless knights, conquering the city."

Edward chuckled as he rested his head on top of Alice's. The siblings exchanged a knowing smile. They had always been there for each other. Edward felt a warmth spread through him,

"You guys are the best," he said, his voice thick with emotion.

"Cheesy, but true," Alice said, leaning against Jasper.

After spending about an hour on the empire state, we made our way to the Chrysler Tower, the Art Deco masterpiece that whispered secrets of a bygone era. Inside, the lobby was a masterpiece of marble and chrome, the air heavy with history and opulence.

We stepped into the lobby, our footsteps echoing against the polished marble floor. The grandeur of the place was undeniable. We approached the reception desk, the receptionist, a stoic man with a neatly trimmed mustache, eyed us with a mix of curiosity and skepticism.

"We are here for the tour," Edward said with confidence.

The receptionist's gaze lingered on us for a moment longer before he nodded curtly and handed me a few brochures. "The next tour starts in fifteen minutes. You can wait in the lounge area to the left."

I took the brochure, my eyes scanning the glossy images of the building's intricate architecture. The lobby was full of art deco elements - gleaming chrome, marble, and complicated mosaics that told the story of a bygone era. We found a quiet spot in the lounge, I could feel our excitement growing with each passing minute. As we waited, we couldn't help but overhear snippets of conversation from the other tourists, their voices a blend of excitement and awe. A young couple sat nearby, flipping through their own brochures, their eyes wide with wonder.

The tour group eventually gathered around the guide, a lively woman that quickly started sharing anecdotes. She began her narrative with the building's history, painting a vivid picture of the time when the Chrysler Building was the tallest in the world. We listened intently, and my imagination transported me to the Roaring Twenties, where jazz filled the air and the city pulsed with life.

"This place is so full of history, I love it," I whispered to Edward, he nodded in acknowledgement.

"I know, I don't want to be weird, but it's like I can sense all the good times that happened here," He whispered back.

As we ascended in the elevator, the anticipation grew palpable. The steel box rattled as it climbed, the cables above us groaning. The doors slid open, revealing a floor that seemed to have been frozen in time, complete with antique furnishings and flickering pendant lights that cast an amber glow across the room. Our group spread out, cameras at the ready, eager to capture the essence of this monumental piece of history…

"You know, the best tacos in the city are supposed to be at this place called Taco No. 1," Jasper said as we came out of the Chrysler building.

"Really?" Alice asked, Jasper nodded "They're supposed to be life-changing."

"Should we go then? I'm famished!" Edward added.

We all nodded and headed towards the Taco place with Jasper leading the way.

"I assure you they are life changing," Jasper interjected as we approached the busy street.

Alice giggled. "You say that about every new restaurant we go to."

"But these are different," Jasper insisted. "They're like little bites of heaven."

The scent of sizzling meat and spices grew stronger as they approached Taco No. 1. Our stomachs rumbled in anticipation, the sounds of sizzling and chopping a delicious symphony. We sat down after ordering different ones to share and try.

I took a bite, my eyes closing in bliss. "These are incredible."

Edward took a tentative bite, a smile appeared on his lips as the flavors exploded on his tongue. "They're like nothing I've ever tasted before," he said, the smile in his voice genuine.

The four of us talked and laughed over our meal, sharing bites and jokes. It was a simple moment, but one that would go into our memories forever.

Back at the hotel, we took a shower and changed into the finest clothes we'd brought.

"Where are we going, Edward?" I asked.

"Can't you imagine?" He smiled. "No, Edward, stop teasing and tell me!" I begged.

"Fine!" He pouted jokingly. "We're going to the Aladdin musical!" He said excitedly.

That was one of his favorite Disney movies. "A Broadway Musical, really?"

"Yes, love," I hugged him. Edward circled my waist and brought my face closer to his and kissed me. His hands started roaming my body, things were heating up quickly.

"Edward, love, we're going to be late!" I whispered against his lips. "Just a few more kisses," he smiled.

I gave him a couple more pecks and then broke our embrace, "later," he said.

"Later," I agreed…

"I've heard the costumes are as magical as the story," Jasper said as we walked out of the hotel.

"As the designer of the bunch I'll be the judge on that!" Alice joked.

I felt a swell of excitement. The anticipation of the music, the lights, and the magic of live theater was something we hadn't experienced yet. I could hear the excitement in Edward's voice, and the way his hand trembled slightly as I took it in mine.

"You look beautiful," he said, turning towards me. He reached out, finding my face with his hands, his fingertips tracing the soft contours of my cheeks, nose, and lips. "I'm the luckiest man in the world," he murmured.

I leaned into his touch, my eyes closing. "You always know just what to say."

The four of us stepped out into the night, the city a vibrant tapestry of sound and scent. The lights from Broadway called at us. We followed the neon signs, our laughter was in tune with the rhythm of the city's heartbeat.

The theater was a cozy blanket of velvet and gold, the air thick with excitement and anticipation. As the lights dimmed and the curtains parted, Edward leaned back in his seat, a smile playing on his lips. I knew he wouldn't see the magic unfolding before him, but he could feel it.

"Oh, Edward, can you feel it?" I whispered.

"I can feel the magic," he replied, his voice filled with wonder. "I can feel the joy in everyone's hearts."

Alice leaned over, "Isn't it amazing what sound can do?" He nodded, squeezing her hand. "It's like a secret language, telling a story that everyone understands."

The musical was a whirlwind of sound and emotion, each song a new adventure that we felt in our bones. We laughed and cried at the scenes displayed on stage.

When the lights came up for intermission, Jasper leaned in. "You okay, buddy?"

"Better than okay," Edward said, his voice filled with a child-like glee. "I can't believe we're here."

"You're not the only one, I can't believe that Alice and I are finally married after what happened." Jasper said, a smile in his voice. "You kept me waiting long enough," Alice replied as she kissed his cheek.

The second act was full of color and sound, the music so vivid it was almost tangible. The magic of the performance was palpable, more than anything I could've imagined.

When the final bow was taken and the applause had died down, we made our way out of the theater. The sidewalks were still crowded, but there was a sense of camaraderie among the theatergoers, a shared experience that bonded them all.

"Back to the hotel now?" Alice asked.

"Really?" Edward raised an eyebrow at Jasper. "I thought we were going for Broadway pizza after the show." Alice nodded eagerly. "And we can't leave New York without having a slice of Broadway's finest pizza, right?"

"We are going to Joe's Pizza, the one where Peter Parker works in Spiderman 2," Jasper said giddy.

"Can't believe you forgot!" Edward told him.

"I had other plans," Jasper said.

"Hey, Bella and I have the same plans…but I do want pizza," Edward laughed.

"Pizza first, then hotel?" Alice asked. My stomach rumbled at the thought. "Sounds like a plan."

We hurried up and made our way to the iconic pizzeria, the scent of fresh dough and melted cheese wafting through the air. After ordering, Jasper guided Edward to a table, the sound of sizzling pizzas and chattering customers a comforting backdrop. "This is...incredible," he said, his voice filled with wonder after the first slice was placed in front of him.

Alice giggled. "It's not just pizza, it's a slice of New York history."

Jasper leaned in, his voice a conspiratorial whisper. "And the best part is, you can't even see the grease stains on your shirt."

Edward laughed, the sound rich and full. "Very funny."

We spent the evening sampling pizzas, each one more delicious than the last. The jovial banter of the staff and the crackle of the oven became a symphony of friendship and laughter. And as Edward took his final bite, the taste of victory and camaraderie filled his mouth, a reminder that sometimes, the best experiences were the ones you couldn't plan for.

As we made our way back to the hotel, the city's lights reflected off the puddles from an earlier rain, I could tell Edward felt tired.

"Thank you," I murmured, leaning into him. "This has been the most amazing day."

He kissed my forehead, his lips lingered feeling the warmth of my skin. "It's only the beginning."

His hand found mine, the warmth of his touch sending a thrill up my arm. I squeezed back, in silent confirmation. "It's been a long journey, hasn't it?"

We had been married for a couple of days now, but it felt like a lifetime. Edward's fingertips traced the line of my palm as he gently guided me through the suite, the air between us charged with an excitement that was palpable. His other hand rested lightly on the small of my back, the touch reassuring, yet sending waves of heat through my body. He had a way of making me feel like I was the only person in the world, even in the most mundane of moments. Now, in this intimate setting, the sensation was amplified tenfold.

Our conversation grew quiet as we reached the bedroom, the only thing I heard was the faint sounds of the city outside the window serenading us. Edward stopped, his hand on the doorknob. "Ready to go to bed, Bella?"

"More than ready," I murmured.

He opened the door with a soft click, Edward stepped aside, he removed his dark glasses and turned his face towards me, a question in his gaze. He had always been attentive to my every need, and tonight was no different. "Could we...?"

I stepped closer to him, my voice a breath against his ear. "Yes, Edward."

He took my hand again, leading me to the bed. We sat down together, side by side, the soft mattress giving slightly under our combined weight. His hands caressed my face, looking for any sign of doubt or fear. I knew he was worried about his lack of sight, but he knew that it didn't matter to me. At that moment, I wanted him to know that his touch was all I needed.

I leaned in, pressing my lips to his, feeling the tension in his body melt away. His arms wrapped around me, pulling me closer, and I let out a small sigh of contentment. Our kiss grew deeper, more urgent. Edward's hand moved from my back to the zipper of my dress, tracing it down swiftly, the metal cool against my skin. He helped me out of it, his eyes closed as if he was committing every sensation to memory.

"You enjoy undressing me," he just chuckled.

I leaned back, giving him access, feeling the heat of his breath on my bare skin as he kissed along my collarbone and down to the edge of my bra. He paused, his hand hovering. I reached up and cupped his face, bringing it back to mine for another kiss.

"I'm yours," I whispered.

His mouth curved into a smile against my lips, and he pulled back slightly to remove the garment. His thumbs grazed the sensitive skin of my nipples, sending shivers down my spine. Edward had always been gentle whenever we kissed or explored our bodies before, but there was a new confidence in his touch that was incredibly arousing. The fact that He had learned to navigate my body without sight, mapping out each curve and contour with unerring precision in just one night was amazing.

As our kisses grew more fervent, we both stood, our clothes pooling at our feet. His hand found my waist, his thumb circling in a hypnotic pattern. "I want to feel you again," he murmured, his voice hoarse with desire.

I stepped away from him, the cool air of the room making me shiver. He reached out, finding me, and drew me back to him. His hands roamed over my body, learning it all over again. The brush of his fingertips sent waves of pleasure through me, and I could feel his arousal pressing against me. Edward's hand slid down to the back of my thigh, urging me closer. We stood there, skin to skin, kissing and groping, hearts pounding, for what felt like an eternity before he finally picked me up and laid me on the bed.

The feel of the soft sheets beneath me, the sound of our ragged breaths, and the warmth of Edward's body as he joined me on the bed made me feel like I was in a dream. His hands were everywhere, exploring, teasing, worshiping. And even though he couldn't see the love in my eyes, I knew he could feel it in every touch, every caress I gave his skin.

We moved together, each gasp and moan echoing in the quiet room. I could feel him memorizing the way I responded to him, the way my body moved with his, the way I fit perfectly into his arms.

As the waves of pleasure washed over us, we clung to each other, our hearts racing in unison. We had come so far, overcome so much, and now we were here, in this perfect moment. I could feel the gentle pressure of Edward's hands as he explored my body, each touch speaking a word of love in a conversation that needed no spoken language.

"You're so beautiful," he murmured, his fingertips tracing the line of my jaw before moving to cup my face. "And you're so perfect," I replied, my voice barely a whisper. "Your touch... it's like nothing else in the world."

He leaned in, capturing my mouth in a kiss that was both tender and demanding. I felt his desire in the way he held me, the way his body moved over mine. And as we made love, I knew that this was where I belonged, in the safety of his arms, feeling the unbridled passion that only Edward could bring out in me. Our bodies moved together, our hearts beating as one. It was just us, our love, and the unspoken words that passed between us in every caress.

We climbed higher and higher, our breaths mingling in the warmth of our kisses. And when the peak finally crashed over us, it was like a wave breaking on the shore, leaving us both trembling and spent. We lay there, tangled in the soft embrace of the sheets, our bodies still joined as our hearts slowed and the busy city outside faded away.

"I love you," he whispered, his voice filled with awe. "I love you, too," I breathed, my eyes closing in contentment.

In the quiet hotel room, we lay in bed, my head on his chest. Edward was quiet as I listened to the steady rhythm of his heart, a soothing lullaby. Tomorrow would bring more sights, more sounds, more memories. But for now, we were content, surrounded by the warmth of our love and the quiet whispers of their shared laughter.

"You know, Jasper's descriptions of the city today," Edward began, his voice low and thoughtful. "They were like a painting come to life."

I opened my eyes. "They were beautiful," I agreed. "But nothing compares to feeling your heartbeat after we've been together just now," I sighed. My body was still tingly from the pleasure.

He chuckled, the vibration rumbling through his chest. My hand traced lazy circles on his chest. "Having you guys explain everything to me it's like...like I can see again."

We laid there in silence for a moment, the weight of their words heavy in the air. My eyes searched his face, the soft light of dawn casting shadows on his features. "Do you ever miss it?" she asked, her voice a whisper. "Being able to see?"

He paused, considering. "Sometimes. But then I think of all the things I've gained. The way you describe the world to me, the way Jasper's voice paints a picture so vivid I can almost see it...it's like I have three sets of eyes now."

"You always know just what to say."

"Bella," Edward said, his voice a gentle caress. "Are you happy?" His question hung in the air, heavy with the weight of his love and hope. "More than I ever thought possible," I replied, my voice a soft echo of his. He leaned in to kiss me, his lips tender and reverent, and I knew that every day with him would be an adventure, a chance to explore the world anew.

It started raining, a serenade that seemed to call us back to the bed. We made love again, this time slower, more deliberate. Each touch, each kiss, was a promise, a silent vow that no matter the storms life threw our way, we would always find our way back to each other. Edward's touch left me feeling more alive than I ever had before. Our bodies moved in perfect harmony, our love a living, breathing entity that filled the room and left us both breathless.

Afterwards, we lay there, our hearts beating in time with the rain outside. He held me close, his arms a warm cocoon of safety and love.

"Thank you," he whispered, his voice thick with emotion. "For this, for everything." He kissed the top of my head, his breath warm against my hair.

"This is just the beginning, love," I murmured. "Our story is just getting started." And as the rain continued its soothing lullaby, I fell asleep in his embrace, my heart full of love for him.
