Zani looked up at the monitor when Seth's music hit. She knew he was scheduled for a match with Randy. Randy was already waiting in the ring. Zani smiled to herself as she watched Seth do his thing. Seth entered the ring and posed for everyone. The bell rang and the two men went at it.
"Get him, Seth," she mumbled.
She knew it was scripted but she always got way into it. The match went on for a few minutes and Seth sent Randy out to the floor. Seth jumped down on the floor, bent over to stare at Randy, and his obnoxious laughter sounded through the screen. It was like Randy saw red. Randy flew up and jumped on Seth.
"What the fuck are you doing, Randy?" Zani asked. "Stop it, damn it!"
It was clear to Zani that it was no longer a scripted match. Randy was throwing real punches and Seth had been caught by surprise. Randy was scary when he let his anger take over like that. He got a lot of punches in before he dragged Seth over to the steel steps and started banging his head into it for real. That's when people in the back came flying out to pull Randy away from Seth.
The show cut to commercials and Zani was left shocked. She knew why Randy had done it. She had spent too long with Seth compared to how long she usually spent with any other random man she had hooked up with in the past. There was only one way to make sure this wouldn't repeat itself. She had to be on Randy's side.
She ran out of the room and down to Randy's locker room. She knew he always requested a mini fridge with certain items like the diva he was. She opened the fridge and grabbed a bottle of champagne. The door opened shortly after and she popped the bottle and laughed at her brother.
"What are you doing here?" He asked.
"Celebrating your victory," she grinned. "Now, that was fun! I thought you were just joking this morning but you really saw him as threat. That's hilarious."
She took a swig of the bottle and held it towards him. He gritted his teeth at first but then walked over to her, grabbed the bottle, and took a swig too.
"I really thought I had you this time," he said.
"I told you many years ago that I would never get into another relationship. I meant that," she said.
"You've spent months with Seth," he said.
"It's because he's that fucking good in bed," she said.
"I don't wanna hear about it," he said.
"Then stop asking," she said.
She grabbed the bottle and took another swig.
"The reason I've spent this long with him is because it's easier when I'm on the road. I don't wanna go from bar to bar to try and find a stranger to hook up with. I'm too old for that and it's too dangerous. Seth is easy. Like really fucking easy. I have him where I want him," she said.
He grabbed the bottle, let out a sound of annoyance, and took another swig.
"I might get punished for this," he said.
"I doubt it, golden boy," she said. "I'm gonna go back to work."
She left the locker room and stood still outside of the door.
"Fuck!" He yelled.
She blew out her breath in relief. He had bought her little performance. She walked down the hallway and stopped when Roman stepped in front of her and crossed his arms.
"Can I help you?" She asked.
"Why the fuck do you keep hurting him like that?" He asked.
"Who?" She asked.
"Come on! Seth tells me everything. He begged for me to find you before they took him away but you don't give a fuck about him being in the hospital, do you?" He asked.
"I..." She started.
She licked her suddenly dry lips and couldn't find any words to say. Seth had begged Roman to find her and that hurt deep inside. She was the reason for what had happened tonight.
"I didn't make Randy attack him," she finally said.
"I don't know what the fuck happened up until that moment, nor do I care. I care about Seth. He's hurt, Zani. He's in the hospital. I can't force you to go there but I'm hoping you can find it somewhere in that cold heart of yours to visit him. And stop fucking with his heart. He's in love with you and you know that. I know that you know that. It's not okay for you to toy with his emotions," he said.
He walked past her and she turned around to look at him go.
"I'm sorry," she said.
"I'm not the one you should be saying that to," he said.
He continued down the hallway and she sighed. She knew he was right. She should tell Seth that she was sorry for everything she had put him through. She never thought things would lead to this but she should have known better. She knew Randy. She knew how her brother worked. She needed to go to the hospital and talk to Seth before the show was over and anyone else decided to go there.
