A/N: I have always like the Wolverine character since I was younger and read comics. I am glad that they keep bringing the character back. I also love Deadpool, so I thought I would have some fun... if you don't like it don't read it.
This is all AU and set after the Deadpool/Wolverine movie. I will have other X-men show up in the story.
I can't believe that I let Wade talk me into staying here with him. I was all content to walk away after we saved his time line. He had his friends, and I felt like I had maybe made up for a small fraction of what I had done in my own past... thankfully a past that no one here would ever actually know about other than what I told them. I walked out of the apartment that I shared with Wade and Blind Al. I needed some space. I should be grateful for them, and I know in a way I was, but I needed my own time.
Wade really could get on someone's every last fucking nerve with his incessant talking, willingness to fuck anything that moves, and making everything into a fucking joke. I had to get away before I tore him apart. I respected Al, so I chose to leave the apartment for a bit instead of turning it into a war scene like we did that mini van a few weeks ago. I had found a small bar that was just down the street. I didn't drink as heavily anymore, but I still needed a place to hide out from time to time. I didn't get bothered when I was in there, and the drinks were cheap. The bartenders didn't usually bother you too much.
I walked into the bar and I was still surprised when no one turned to glare at me. I had to remember I wasn't in my time anymore. No one was yelling at me to get out or they didn't want my kind anymore. No one gave a shit if you were a mutant. I sat down on a bar stool, and a woman appeared in front a me a few seconds later. I had seen her a few times, but usually she was leaving as I was coming in so she had never actually been behind the bar. I usually came in later at night, but today Wade had been home most of the day, and I didn't have to be anywhere so here I was in the afternoon.
"Hey, darlin, what can I get ya?" she asked me. I was surprised by her scent... it was different, and almost intoxicating. I had a heightened sense of smell, and I had only ever smelled something close to that once, but they didn't exist anymore. She was probably wearing some kind of perfume. I quickly dismissed it.
"Whiskey." I finally said and she nodded with a smile. She had a great smile and large brown eyes.
"On the rocks?" she asked me and I shook my head no. She walked away and I watched after her. She had reddish brown hair, tattoos on both arms, and I swear she had a slight glow to her. She turned back and I looked away so she didn't see me staring at her.
"Thanks." I mumbled when she sat it down and she shot me a smile before going to check on the other few people at the bar. I was sipping on it when I heard someone else come in and I saw it was Vanessa. Vanessa and I had talked a few times without Wade around and she was the one person I could stand. She had a semi normal life, and understood that Wade could be an absolute fuck head 99% of the time.
She walked over to the bartender and hugged her. They obviously knew each other. I was sipping on the whiskey when I sensed Vanessa looking at me. I finally looked in her direction, and she looked over at me. She smiled and gave a small wave. I nodded at her. They all knew that I wasn't the friendliest person, so I'm sure that was about what she expected.
"Logan, what are you doing here?" she asked me as she made her way over to me.
"Wade." I stated and she chuckled. I knew that I didn't need to explain it anymore.
"Yeah, he can be a lot at times." she said in a sad tone.
"He misses you too." I finally said and glanced at her. She smirked and motioned to the seat.
"Go ahead." I said. She sat down and a drink appeared in front of her.
"Thanks, T." she said to her and she nodded.
"No problem, glad to see Mr. Personality here has some friends." she said and Vanessa chuckled as I shook my head.
"He's not as bad a he seems." she said in a my defense and T chuckled before walking away.
"You good?" she asked me and I nodded as I watched T walk away. I didn't realized it was so obvious, but there was just something about her that reminded me of someone from a long time ago.
"You are staring awful hard." Vanessa said and I quickly looked away.
"She's single." she said after I took a sip of whiskey.
"I'm old and grumpy." I said and she laughed.
"And I'm not dumb enough to think that me and Wade won't get back together... what's your point?" she asked me. I looked at her with a raised eyebrow.
"Look, I know Wade misses me kind of like I know that you wouldn't mind having some female attention.. or really any attention. I know the reason Wade and I haven't gotten together is because he won't ask and it's the same reason you make a move.. you won't ask. You and Wade are the same." she said and I quickly looked at her.
"Don't go all steak knives on me. Calm down, old man." she said and when she saw my hardened reaction. She had no idea about my past, my wife, or what I had been through. I finally shook my head and took another sip.
"Obviously I hit a nerve, so, I'm sorry. I am just saying it won't kill you to talk to someone other than me, Wade, or Blind Al every now and then." I said and threw some money on the bar.
"See you tomorrow night for Friends Friday." she said as she left.
"T, see you tomorrow night?" she asked her as she walked out.
"Yeah, I'll be there." she said and Vanessa shot me a smirk before walking out. I sighed and downed the rest of my whiskey.
"Another?" T asked me and I shook my head no.
"I'm good. I just needed to clear my head for a minute." I said and she nodded.
"I know you are Wade's new roommate... you can hide here anytime." she said with a chuckle and I raised an eyebrow at her.
"I have known Wade along time... I get it." she said as I laid down some money and stood up.
"I'm Logan." I finally said.
"Taegan, but call me T." she said. I nodded and started to walk out.
"See you tomorrow." she called after me and I turned to look at her. She smirked at me and I shook my head before walking out the door. I walked back to the apartment and walked in to Wade and Al arguing about IKEA furniture. I shook my head and sat down.
"You are just going to sit there and not tell your pool bestie about the girl you met today?" he asked me and I looked at him with some real annoyance. I guess Vanessa had stopped by after the bar, or had texted Wade. I wasn't in the mood to talk about it.
"Al, Wade is holing out on you. He has some cocaine." I finally said and Wade gasp as Al smacked him with her cane. They started arguing and I went to sit out on the fire escape steps. I chuckled as I heard Wade telling Al to stop hitting him because he didn't have any cocaine. I knew that this wasn't the worst place for me, but some days I missed the quietness of Canada.
