Day 1 - The Empress (Motherhood): The Missing Feeling
Bulla has a strange feeling on the day she meets her nephew.

.

Bulla woke up that morning feeling anxious and apprehensive. She had found out she was going to be an aunt and couldn't be happier about it. She was going to meet her nephew for the first time that day and couldn't wait for it. But, besides all these feelings, she was also feeling something she couldn't quite explain. She was feeling sad for some reason, like something was missing. She shook her head, pushing such thoughts away and tried not to give them much power.

Bulla's usual cheerful spirit was back by the time she was supposed to leave to meet Trunks, Marron and baby Yuri. She made sure not to forget the gift she had bought for him. As she was making her way through her pathway towards the street, she came across Goten waiting for her and couldn't hold her smile.

"Hi!"

"Good morning, go… I mean, Bulla." He quickly corrected himself with a light shake of his head and then smiled back at her.

"I may have forgotten, were we supposed to meet this morning?"

"No." Goten said sincerely. "But I know you're going to meet your nephew today and thought you could use some company, maybe."

"Oh!" Bulla couldn't hide her happiness at how sweet and thoughtful her boyfriend was. "Of course, I would love to have your company! I'm sorry I didn't invite you to come with me."

"It's alright, don't worry about it." He talked it off. "So how are you feeling?"

The blue haired woman was fast lost in her own thoughts. That feeling of something missing overwhelmed her again.

"Bulla?" Goten waved his hand in front of her face. "Is everything okay?"

"Huh?" She blinked a few times and quickly pushed her thoughts aside. "Everything's fine. Shall we go?"

"Sure." He said, a hundred percent sure she was hiding something.

.

Bulla felt her heart start beating faster as she and Goten arrived at the park they were supposed to meet Trunks and Marron.

"Hey." Goten said softly and reached out for her hand, an attempt to get her to open up to him. "What's going on?"

"What do you mean what's going on?" She looked at him with her eyebrows raised. "Nothing's going on."

"You don't need to be so defensive." He squeezed her hand tightly.

"I'm not." She tried to sound as confident as she could, but even she knew it was the complete opposite.

"Okay, then." Goten dropped the subject with a heavy sigh.

The woman was silent afterwards and Goten began to feel even more concerned about what was going on in his girlfriend's mind. He blamed himself for not being able to get through to her. Things were starting to get awkward between them, and the man was beyond thankful Trunks and Marron arrived. Bulla's mood changed completely right away.

"Hi!" She approached them with a very large smile on her face and greeted them with a hug. Then she looked at the blond baby in her brother's arms, sleeping peacefully. "So this is my nephew."

"That's right."

"He's the most beautiful baby ever! He's so cute!" She squealed and stroked his face with the back of her hand.

"I don't mean to brag, but he looks like his father."

"Hmm I'm not so sure about that." Bulla teased, without taking her eyes off the baby. "I think he looks like Marron, actually."

"I think so too." Marron joined the conversation with a smile. "I say it's only fair a baby looks like their mother, since she has to carry them for nine months."

"I agree." The ex-goddess said a little absentmindedly, her focus was still on the baby. "Hello, Yuri. I'm your aunt. The coolest one."

"Please." Trunks rolled his eyes playfully.

"Shut up!" She looked at her sister-in-law. "Can I…?"

"Of course."

Bulla carefully picked her nephew in her arms and couldn't help but smile when he looked at her. It was only then that she understood the missing feeling she had been feeling since that morning. She glanced at Goten, who was staring at her, and immediately knew he had also understood it. There was also something else written on his face, but Bulla couldn't figure out what that was.

"You're so natural with babies, Bulla." Marron commented. "You never really considered having children?"

"Ah…" The blue haired woman was caught by surprise and didn't know what to say. "I haven't really thought about it."

"You don't want any children?"

"I… I…" She desperately tried to change the subject, but couldn't find anything else to say. "Yuri is such a calm baby."

Marron stared at her sister-in-law with a suspicious look and went quiet, lost in her own thoughts while a small smile formed on her lips.

"Do you wanna hold him?" Bulla turned to her boyfriend.

"Ah, no thanks. I don't think I can hold a baby. They are so fragile."

"Come on." She pressed on. "Nothing will happen. I'll be right by your side."

"Okay, won't hurt to do it, I think." He stretched his arms, so that his girlfriend could place the baby. A smile appeared on his features right away when he locked eyes with Yuri, a gesture that was mirrored by him.

"He likes you." Bulla said happily and her face lit up as she saw how fast they had bonded.

"It seems like it." Goten replied, still looking at the baby.

Marron had an intrigued yet curious look on her face as she watched how they interacted with her son. She couldn't help but think both of them were great with babies. She was brought back to reality when Yuri started crying.

"I hate to interrupt your bonding moment," She approached Goten. "but it's time for Yuri to eat."

"Right. Of course." He handed him back to Marron. "You have a beautiful baby. Congratulations."

"Thank you." Marron smiled warmly at him and then turned to Trunks. "I think we should go back home now."

"Alright."

"I wish you could stay more. I'm gonna miss you." Bulla said tearfully and hugged them tight.

"We'll come back soon, I promise."

.

"Bulla." Goten said softly and touched her elbow lightly as they walked into her house. "We need to talk."

"Okay." Bulla looked at him surprised, though she already knew what it was about. She couldn't escape it anymore.

"So… I finally figured out what you're hiding."

"Oh." She was caught off guard, even if she was sure he already knew it. "Okay, right."

"You want a baby."

The woman bit her lower lip and looked down. She didn't get why she was so afraid of doing that. Maybe by admitting that it would make things more… real.

"Hey, you don't have to feel ashamed of it." Goten said gently and lifted her chin carefully, so that they could look into each other's eyes. "There's nothing wrong with that."

She felt her eyes water and her vision got blurry with tears. Goten pulled her towards him and she cried on his chest. She finally felt relieved for taking all that she was feeling out. He stroked her back softly until she calmed down.

"Are you feeling better now?"

"I am." She looked at him and gave a weak smile. "There's something I want to tell you."

"Okay. What is it?"

"I wanna be a mother. When I held Yuri in my arms earlier, I realized what I was missing. I want to have kids and I'll understand if you…"

"I do." He cut her off and hugged her tight. "Let's have a baby."
