The Possessor of Divine Grandeur and Lordly Pharoah Atem, son of Akammamon reclined on his gilded throne overlooking the elaborate palace hall that extended 20 football fields. Around him was a band of his advisors, Shimon was the eldest advisor who also advised his late father and bore an uncanny resemblance to his abiou's grandfather. The stoic and tall Karim was the most athletic of his advisors and could pass as an Egyptian warrior than an adviser. The beautiful Priestess Isis who Pharoah Atem, held in the highest regard not just was the holder of the millennium necklace who foretold future prophecies but she was a devoted healer who kept most of the people who served the Pharoah in good health.

Atem sat calmly and serenely enjoying the peaceful time on his throne. Since he has been in ther afterlife, there was no concept of time, everything moved slower and what would be considered one day is a week in the mortal world. Since he has been in the afterlife after his ceremonial duel with his aibou, Yugi Muto, now the anointed King of Games, who Atem gladly acknowledged and brings such happiness to his spirit has felt a serenity in Yugi being the one to defeat him and send him to his paradise.

In Atem's mind nobody has ever been his equal and worthy to defeat him except for his aibou. His aibou held a special place in his heart not cause Yugi freed him from the darkness of the millennium puzzle and was responsible for his salvation back to his place as Phaorah and soon-to-be god anointment, no indeed, it was cause Yugi was pure of heart, a warrior and angel worthy of every kind of power and good deed handed to him. There has never been a day since being the afterlife where he never thought about his angelic other half and even his other friends he adores.

He felt serenity in knowing that Yugi's wise decision in wanting to battle him was what led to Atem's eventual ascent into godhood status among the Egyptian gods. Yugi's pure of heart was Atem's salvation to reaching paradise and having high favor among the Gods. It was as written as the law that by Yugi winning against Atem, Yugi was sending his judgment to the Gods that Atem was worthy of paradise and godhood. No other Pharoah has been considered a true god among the gods except for Atem and part of it was caused by Atem's attachment to Yugi his pure angelic half who saved and rescued his soul from damnation and his service of battling against all the evil forces in the mortal plane world.

Even though it has been ten months in the mortal world it still feels like yesterday to him since he last had his duel with Yugi. He will never forget that day when he saw his aibou become the champion and warrior he knew his Yugi could be, everybody underestimated him and his talents but never him. It brought him such joy and tingles through his body when he saw Yugi defeat the Egyptian God Cards in one turn with little effort in front of everyone worthy to see his aibou's skills. His aibou can make things seem so easy, he was always good at that whereas Atem believed so much in will and assertiveness cause of his warrior training in his youth of bending an enemy to your will, whereas when Yugi put his mind to it he makes everything look easy.

He remembers Anzu's flip-flopping on who she wanted to win based on her feelings but never her logic to Atem, she had no idea how much she insulted him in wanting to root for him over Yugi, for Yugi was truly the better duelist but also Yugi's heart was strongest and worthy for her happiness.

Yugi made him feel so happy even though Atem did not have his memories intact when he was a spirit, even without his memories he always felt the whole cause of Yugi. His advisors and his family made sure his transition to the afterlife was a proper transition for it was not every day a Pharoah comes to the afterlife just being a mere spirit. Atem has reunited with all important people in his Pharaonic life from his parents, and guardians to his closest friends. He was content to see them all again, happy, and living their paradise. He fully talked with all of them about Yugi but he never fully went in-depth on how much Yugi really meant to him on a personal and emotional level. Though he was happy to see all of them again after 5,000 years, he still did not feel fully joyous with his reunion but he kept a good act in being joyous around his family for he did adore and love them.

As Atem sat on the throne he was meditating in the eerie quietness of the throne room which was uncommon for the lively Egyptian palace that has hosted hundreds of banquets and festivities since he has arrived. Atem has never been a man of parties even during his early years, he always took fun in playing games, Egyptian yoga, fishing, and reading. What he always loved about his companionship with Yugi was they were kindred spirits in loving games, reading, and enjoying serenity. It took him a while to adjust to the parties and constant banquets, he knew it was part of his culture but he grew to tolerate it over time. His aibou was a better actor in switching from being an introverted shy kid to an extroverted bold teenager he knew he became before he departed but not him even when Atem had his famous date with Anzu, arranged by his aibou, he never fully felt comfortable with the excessive culture and activities the 21st century offered. Atem chuckled back at that memory for it was the exact day he found out his destiny with Yugi and that his rival was Seto Kaiba.

Today was unusual in how quiet his throne room was, the throne room was considered the most important part of the palace next to the kitchen. It was the Pharoah's lair where he laid down the law and could exact his power in front of all from foreigners, adversaries, his Royal Court, and everyday civilians. The Pharoah is the sun and the moon in the throne room and nobody can defy the Pharoah in the throne room. Since being the Pharoah, Atem has never had to enact any serious law and order since most of the people in his afterlife passed the Field of Reeds and been granted paradise. This is what Ishizu and the gods meant when they said rest, it was rest from the evil and the shadow world that plagued the mortal world and plagued him for years after he absorbed Zorc. The mortal world that he defended alongside his Yugi who still was in the mortal world.

While meditating on his throne, Atem heard footsteps approach, he saw a young tall man walking confidently down the palace hall with a long white trench coat, and a black jumpsuit with calf-high military booths. He was unconventional-looking compared to his Egyptian countrymen who wore light tunics, robes, and sandals.

He wore a device that looked like a virtual duel disk more sophisticated and elaborate than the white duel disks that Atem remembered battling Yugi in the ceremonial duel. The young man suddenly stopped 10ft away from the Pharoah's throne and developed a half-smirk, the guards who guarded the throne held their spears in front of them in defensive form waiting for their leader's command.

Atem saw his guards but paid no heed, Atem rose from his throne, his brown coffee-colored muscular skin blending with the golden Egyptian jewelry made him a sight to behold. His signature spiky hair grew longer making it look like he was wearing a crown, his crimson eyes had gotten so wine-colored and his face had made it where he looked slightly older but also wiser. Since being in the afterlife, he has developed an otherworldly glow that even his family, advisers, and friends have noticed. No other person in the afterlife has this glow except for him, maybe it could be the Gods at work he is after all the Pharoah. Atem's glow also possessed an ability for him to develop a golden aura that was not present until the start of the evening.

Atem saw the young man from his throne he came closer from his seat approached the first step and smirked back at the young man. There he was at long last it was no other than Seto Kaiba his rival from the 21st century and his cousin Priest Seth's modern reincarnation. Atem was not surprised at all to see Seto Kaiba, he got glimpses from the mortal world and knew that Kaiba was trying to play God by defying space, time, and magic all cause of the duel he could not have. Atem smirked again knowing that his Yugi was the one worthy of defeating him, he remembered Kaiba intimidating Yugi on their journey to Tomb of Wadjat, like a silly little child having a tantrum that he could not get what he wanted in wanting to duel him. To Atem, Kaiba was rather amusing but he also had to take him seriously not cause he was his rival but also because Kaiba was capable of anything to get his way.

Kaiba activated his duel disk giving Atem his signature duel disk stance, his icy blue eyes still locked on Atem like a predator stalking its prey.

" Hello Pharoah," Kaiba said with a nod of acknowledgment. A whole year was spent trying to make the impossible possible and he has done it. He finally found the Pharoah. He felt no remorse for his interactions with Aigami or setting up Yugi in his tournament that led to another shadow game, everything he did was worth it to where he is right now.

Atem slowly walked down the steps gracefully making small taps down each step one would think he was half feline. The corners of Atem's mouth rose slightly but his expression remained godlike as he walked closer to Kaiba. Even though Kaiba had a slight height difference, Atem's aura and confidence made Kaiba feel and appear like a midget. He raised his hands to dismiss his three advisers who stood next to his throne. His advisers stayed quiet for they knew Atem knew this man and it was inadvisible for them to stay silent as they felt the tension in the air between the two men. They quickly left the throne room.

Atem slowly walked and circled around Kaiba, examining up and down like a doctor looking at a patient. Atem thought to himself that Kaiba no doubt had not changed physically from when he last saw him on the mortal plane. He was always tall, stood straight, and very skinny. Atem glanced at Kaiba's face and he could see his rival had aged about five years, he always knew Kaiba was a workaholic but mere work had not aged him, there were bags under his eyes, and his signature blue eyes looked dull, there was something tugging on Kaiba's spirit.

Atem turned his back to Kaiba and raised his hand.

"Kneel!" he shouted with his booming baritone voice that echoed through the palace hall. Then without hesitation, Kaiba bowed with one knee in front and his hand over his chest. Kaiba kneeled to Atem like a subject instead of being a rival ready to challenge the Pharoah.

Atem turned back around, hands behind his back, and approached a kneeling Kaiba, his crimson eyes narrowed with a slight scowl over his face looking at Seto.

"Now!" "I want a full briefing of everything that happened in the mortal world, you will tell me everything and you will not lie or I will punish you. You have a multitude of problems to answer for!"

Seto stayed still and did not move, his head stayed down and his eyes were closed while Atem was scolding him.

"Rise up now Seth! I want you in my office right now!" Atem gave a hand signal asking for him to stand up.

"Yes my Pharoah!" he said in a low tone. He rose from his feet and followed his Pharoah.
