character thinking.

Noel was fighting an Ursa while, one of his golems fought off a Grimm and blew the Grimms head with a sonic scream mixed up with electricity.

One of Noels' golems had sustained much damage during the fight.

But still kept going.

Leyla for her part summoned Glyphs everywhere, spewing whirlwinds, and materializing electric spheres all without dust, showing her dominion of elemental fury and her family's Semblance.

All the while she laughed at the devastation due to the sheer joy that the fight gave her.

Noel however thought she was just an adrenaline junkie.

That didn't mean he didn't feel the thrill of battle, though he did think about how fucked up that was, knowing they got it from killing Grimm.

After all, they were a living curse with the sole directive to destroy humans, faunus, and Tsukumogami with the creation alike.

It was a social service more than anything really, but Noel couldn't help but think that this could turn into an obsession at best and a sadistic outlet at worst.

Noel would rather kill them quickly, and if any part of their body was broken without them being dead on the spot, he considered that a failure on his part.

Not because of perfectionism mind you but because he felt disturbed not only by killing them which was also a factor but by the aftermath too, the general visuality of the job wasn't of his liking.

For this reason, he limited himself to killing them without any spectacle, there was no point in wasting time in flexing on the demons you needed to kill in his opinion, unlike his companion who spent her time doing pirouettes and embarrassing the children of destruction.

That assaulted them when Layla was guiding him through the forest, the pack of Grimm was made up of Ursas, Beowulf, and the occasional Boarbatusk.

The Ursas, the most durable second to the Boarbatusk, destroyed one of Noel's constructs.

This cost them, the Ursa seemed to have a hole in its chest the creature was disintegrating after the golem opened a hole via sonic bullet.

While the Boarbatusk was also very much a corpse half it was gone due to a bad case of all the potential electricity being released as a bomb after it managed to destroy the golem's core.

"It was a good idea to use electrical dust as the core of the golems," Noel thought, as he avoided a claw from the other pretty much alive Ursa which shorty was followed by Noel uppercutting it with his left gauntlet, that Noel activated the hand cannon exploded in a violent conflagration.

The combustion was enough to splatter the head all around, it wasn't because of Noels' aura the bone fragments would have been dangerous shrapnel the black ichor trapped by gravity eventually stained Noels' face, only then did he realize his mistake.

"Fuck this job and fuck me for not remembering this canon was meant for the center of mass" Noel Thought after being covered by the mess and feeling the shrapnel bounce off his body, Next time he aimed at the stomach.

Noel wasn't going to lose sleep for killing them even if he was a bit disturbed by the nature of being a huntsman, that said brutal kills like these unnerved even him.

As the black ichor evaporated from Noels' body, he gave a side eye to Layla, who was cleaning up the group in her way, and by her way, it meant ridding the top of a rolling Boarbatusk.

While she was shredding her guitar creating more glyphs, making the battlefield a complete pandemonium.

Out of the six Beowulf, only two were left, they attempted to escape being cognisant enough to tell they needed to get away from the students, only for one to get intercepted by Noel's bullets shooting it several times and then finally opening a hole in its chest.

Then Layla followed that up by throwing her guitar axe at the last Beowulf digging into the back of its head, then Layla got down the rolling beast as she did so she kicked the Boarbatusk into a tree, curiously the tree didn't end up falling and breaking, it was still standing.

Killing them this way was more convenient both didn't want them to escape to turn into something worse lather, the Grimm could learn if they survived and got older so they rather deal with them now.

The Tree seemed to agree with them.

The Boarbatusk got up in a daze, only to get sliced off by high-pressure water magic bisecting it, the front and back split apart as they evaporated into black particles.

It Reminded Noel of the tree that he had previously impaled to slow down his fall.

"I'm lucky that tree didn't do anything to me, Joder, at, least it wasn't the ridiculous forest we used to scavenge in," Noel said in fear as the black ichor evaporated from his face he recalled when Ren, Nora, and he painstakingly tried their best not to piss the wildlife off, "Seriously if Trees started speaking I wouldn't be surprised"

"Well there are some back in Mantel that have illusions that can talk to you or straight-up telepathy," Layla said as she came back with her guitar axe, the black stains on it evaporating "Although it depends on the region, in Mantel and Atlas? They then to be a tap bit more violent, they have explosive lasers and all that jazz"

"And you consider that a Bit violent?" Noel turned his head towards her in dread "That's flat-out overkill!"

"Went you have our thoughts as nail Grimm to kill that becomes a necessity, although is not as bad as menagerie or the apocalyptic badlands of Vacuo," Leyla explained "Besides the exploding lasers aren't the worst, try getting attacked by the technopathic three that lives nearby Atlas, Corpos tried to uproot that one for years, only for it to control the drones, and give an aura to his kind, it became a forbidden area unless you are there for sightseeing and not mess with the threes"

"Oh, so botanic terminators?… Great" Noel replied annoyed at the corporations of Atlas. "Thanks, fucking corporates"

"I don't have any idea what that is, but it feels appropriate," Layla agreed "They became everyone's trouble all because they wanted to put a mall there"

"Well, Corporations do fuck up went it comes to the ecosystem and their interest," Noel complained "Although I wonder how people cut threes to get the raw material to build houses, them? Given that they do have souls and aura"

"From what I understand? lumberjacks carefully select the tree and try not to deforest too much because traumatized trees are far worse than the norm as you can imagine with the botanical problem we have," Layla said as they retook their steps pointedly getting away from the violent hydrokinetic tree "that's why settlements tend to put tree saplings after cutting one, but still the problem with the ecosystem is there on top of the Grimm being a pain in the ass"

"Yeah sometimes people forget that plants and animals are still living beings that feel pain," Noel pointed out he wasn't an environmentalist, in fact in his own opinion he wasn't good at getting rid of his carbon footprint, "though I think people tend to try and cut then as quickly as possible so they don't feel pain right?"

"It's a fifty-fifty for me, technology was developed so that they don't suffer and be cut down as quickly as possible," Layla said, looking with melancholy at the tree that ended up killing the Grimm "I think it's not enough, the ecosystem on this planet is also a danger to us as the Grimm are and is a shame, it kinda makes you think that we cannot survive without harming something at the end?"

Noel didn't say anything he already knew that or rather he remembered Ren and Nora Hunting animals down to survive, including a horrid moment in which they incorrectly killed a bunny to eat.

The screaming, the profuse bleeding from the wound, the fearful eyes, and the frantic movement as it lay dying due to what was supposed to be a quick killing, ended with a rock smashing its head quickly to get the poor animal out of its misery.

It took a while for the group to eat its meat afterward, the disturbing scene was burned in their minds.

It made them avoid hunting bunnies whenever possible for a long time, on top of the prevalent guilt they felt from such an event.

This also evoked memories of encounters with huge animals, and some that ate Dust to integrate it into their being, and if they unlocked their aura, It made them more like natural disasters in the shape of an animal, in the same way as the Grimm when they reached critical mass.

One thing that surprised Noel was that he could adapt to this planet of death.

Or rather survive with Ren and Nora so far without turning into feral children.

"Of course, it was thanks to the fact that we had each other," Noel thought, turning his head towards the prosthesis in which Teresa lived "And thanks to you too"

"Well it helps that I'm a responsible adult" Teresa replied with a smug tone " So Thank you for gracing me with such praise"

"Be careful, your head inflates a lot" Noel replied mentally "I'll have to deflate it later unless you want to float in the air like a balloon"

"That metaphor is a bit weird," Teresa pointed out "If you had said it differently it would have worked"

"I have a feeling I screwed up something," Noel replied.

"The moment, and the metaphor" Teresa explained "Meh it could be worse, Like my father"

Noel's face changed to a deadpan one "I am Glad I am not the worst at least Woohoo!"

"Hey!" Layla yelled suddenly while she touched the side of his head, making him turn his head towards her. "I get you were talking with your partner, but could you pay attention to where you were walking?"

"Ok, Ok Jesus sorry," Noel said "It is not like I was going to get lost"

"You were going to hit face into a tree dude," Layla said Noel turned his head only to be met with tree bark.

Layla made a Gesture similar to: "See what I was talking about"

Noel let out a sigh of frustration, while he got better at not being distracted by his conversations with Teresa, sometimes his mind forgot the world existed when those moments happened. "shit, ok my bad"

Layla just shook her head " As long as you don't walk into a ravine, we'll be fine, but please do not do this, I can't show off to a partner that could potentially end up injured or worse"

"Wow I am happy to know I amount to an audience for you," Noel monotonously said but with a hint of good-natured amusement " Then again you did that with no audience the last time I found you, I suspect you don't need it"

Layla let out a chuckle "Maybe I don't but I still will have fun wrecking Grimm, although I prefer to do it with style"

"As long as it doesn't land us into trouble I don't care much" Noel bluntly stated making Layla look at him with a frown "...What?"

"Nothing, just my gods. You are blunt like a sack of bricks, that's all." Layla stated, turning Noel's head and making Noel stare at her. "Oh, please don't give me that face. It is fun to fight Grimm, getting my blood pumped. It would be even better if I stile on those fools. Hell, even if I trip up, I can save some face. Allow yourself some fun just a little."

Seriously what was the issue of him being sincere and not wanting to show off?

"Look Layla I do not have fun doing this I would rather do other things than fight for my life, and kill Grimm" Noel admitted "I have very personal reasons why I do this I cannot in good conscience not kill these things, that and I honestly do not see the fun in doing this visceral job in which Ichor and gore just fly everywhere covering you in mushed flesh"

"Are you always that negative?" Layla sincerely asked bewildered by Noels' answer "Geez I wonder if I am tied to a beacon of positivity"

"Layla is not that… is just…" Noel paused as he signed" I do not like this, I honestly don't find the fun in it, aside from my creative focus on weapons designs, prefer storytelling, art, and craft rather than creating killing machines" Noel half sincerely explained he needed to admits that his childish self felt satisfied with the fact that he was being trained to be a hero in the eyes of the people, but he preferred to live his life at peace rather than stressed out" and to be frank I am not being a pessimist I am trying to be objective as possible"

"Maaan you should relax and stop worrying too much," Layla said looking at Noel's anxious expressions "You take everything too seriously"

Noel chuckled at what she said "I wish I could, unfortunately, I take everything by heart as you can see I cannot simply drop it"

"Then I would be there to help you get that negativity out of you" Layla put her hand on his shoulders in reassurance "and make you find the fun In fighting"

Layla and Noel resumed their walk, however even if the positive works were retained something still bothered Noel at the edges of his mind mainly.

"Although I understand it, on a level, I don't think I will fully get why, battle maniacs always have that tendency to love fighting," Noel wondered.

"To be fair relishing in the thrill of combat is just part of us," Teresa said "Gods now how many times have I relished in the battle trance against Grimm, ah It was a lovely time"

"How much is that you or your tribe's culture?" Noel asked "Just asking I do not want to assume"

"No problem, it was more me than my tribe we were just nomads, I belonged to the ones that were trained warriors and was made to protect them from anything, be it people or Grimm" Teresa admitted, Noel could feel her face contort into a grimace "It was just subsection of us that relished on it, to be honest, those were good times, although it was less fun went we fought people."

"At least you were aware of the fact that killing people is wrong" Noel pointed out "even if you needed to defend yourself"

"That doesn't change the fact that I still have their blood in my hands," Teresa lamented "Anyways I shouldn't take your focus off the test now, after all, you got distracted earlier because of me"

As he walked with Layla, Noel couldn't help but notice that Teresa was evading the subject with that suggestion, not that he blamed her, given the scars she bore, in mind, body, and soul.

With the time he spent with her, he noticed some hints here and there that she wasn't fine, but she was remarkably well-adjusted despite that.

On occasions it made Noel wonder if she was putting on a facade.

Noel has seen Teresa's reaction to her being technically one hundred and five years old.

It was, saddening.

Even nowadays these issues reared their ugly head every once and a while.

Noel didn't know how to deal with that except with a psychologist, it helped them a lot really but his and her mental state still tormented them occasionally.

However, when Teresa figured out how to drag him into that weird soul realm, it worked as a reprieve for that torment.

"Even so I do think is going to bite us back eventually," Noel thought he couldn't help but worry about the mental realm becoming a form of toxic escape from their trauma.

It was sleep allowing them to rest, but not something that solved the issue, what would happen if they get separated eventually and then someone or something triggers them?

He didn't want to think about it, something pushing that button, even though Noel knew that one day it would happen, so for now He put that worry in the back of his head.

"Hey! The relics," Layla said with a smile pointing towards the ruined podium with four statuettes.

Layla moved in the direction of the nearest sculpture however all the molds had something in common.

They depicted the seasons.

One of the sculptures was floral, another in white covered with snowflakes, next to it one with falling leaves, and the last one was simplistic, but it looked like it had a rising sun behind its head all of them having feminine figures in common.

Layla picked up the piece with falling leaves on it and Noel the one with the flowers.

"I wonder why Professor Ozpin decided to base it on the maidens from the Covent?" Layla said with curiosity seeping into her voice "Does that old geezer strike you as religious?"

"it is because of the symbolism?" Noel speculated, that it was probably a way for Ozpin to commemorate the four maidens, but he had doubts, after all, everyone had access to magic via aura even if they turned you into a glass canon compared to your average Hunstman, " Or maybe He has a taste for myths and legends?"

Unlike the knowledged, he knew maidens were terms not a set of unique four individuals.

The term maiden or wizard was used in the Convent of the Four Seasons specifically for people who mastered elemental fury with such magnitude and talent that one would not be surprised if they were the incarnation of the region's weather.

However, some cheated with their Semblances, although they only had control over one element with extreme precision or they simply controlled something more bizarre than an actual element of the season.

It also came with the caveat of climatological issues if the mages of the Convent abused their magic just to make themselves comfortable in an area.

Such as the fact that the wizards or maidens of summer caused a temporary climate change in an area between Mistral and Vale.

In that time there have been many reports of people dying of heatstroke.

That was without mentioning the climatic and reality changes that the ever-expanding Dust was already doing to the environment those crystals resided in.

"Whatever the reason is. we already did our part we better go back to.." before Layla could say more, an animalistic roar similar to a Deathstalker's screech of rage was heard in the air, she put the figurine inside her pants and prepared herself for combat.

Noel's arm turned back into the war scythe waiting.

Something burst from the forest only it wasn't a deathstalker it was another insectoid monstrosity.

It looked like a spider mixed with a knight, it had a stinger but it looked more like a sword than something with which to poison its prey

The only purpose of the tail seemed to be impalement.

The front part was also somewhat confusing, the front legs looking like human arms or a conglomeration thereof, it had a grotesque torso with the head of a medieval knight with spider-like jaws, and eight eyes two frontal and two in its back.

In the Sone of the Torso, in the chest, there was a voluminous bone armor, with holes in which its arm should be, but instead of pincers there bloomed multiple clawed arms, like some demented parody of a humanoid.

These things were christened with the name Aracno Asuras.

However, instead of attacking the Grimm bucket trying to get someone off its back, some of the arme even bent unnaturally to try and pry off whoever was in their back, someone Noel recognized.

It was the edgy guy that helped him after he tripped.

Said guy was also tearing into the creature of destruction back, although tearing was one definition of that he bit on its flesh and then munched it.

What. the. hell?

To top it all off the guy started growing and his skin changed from tanned to jet black, and then proceeded to mangle the hands of the Grimm, making it screech in pain but not give up.

"What the fuck!?" was the only thought Noel could muster, he knew nobody Normal joined hunter academies like Beacon.

No one, with the intent to live a peaceful life that it.

Noel has seen all manner of crazy shit, chimerical animals, animals that ate Dust and became extremely dangerous walking natural disasters that ranged from mini to actual factual Kaijus and the fucking demons created by a spiteful god.

Actual magic, soul powers, Ghosts, and other cavalcade of weird things that made reality seen out of lunch.

In short, Noel saw a lot of insanity the first time he was born here.

But the guy who was acting like a feral animal with a rictus of rage on his face, clawing the creature of grim on his back and sensitive areas, who had been previously a stone-faced serious business-like person took the cake.

That made him pay no attention to the echoing shots that collided with the human-like hands with the bony plates of the Grimm's other hands that were about to grip the feral hunter.

before the Aracno could react the bullets burst into rocks that went through the Grimm's hands the Grimm let a howl of pain.

Noel turned his head on the one person responsible, they were the same one that left him with an awkward moment on the emerald forest cliff before the test started.

His?...Her?...Their? hand turned into a gun while his left was turned into a sword.

They? were yelling and complaining about something but Noel couldn't hear clearly.

Noel noticed that behind Them there were a lot of dead Grimm.

Then Noel realized what the situation was, Noel needed little to no prompting from him to dash towards the Aracno asura, his Golems following closely behind.

Layla did the same while she ran, she created a ladder with her glyphs to get to the thing's head, the Grimm attempted, to attack her with its arm but she dogged until the Feralt huntsman hit something sensitive on its back which only serve to piss off the Grimm even further.

Distracting it from Layla's presence.

The Grimm attempted to skewer him with its sting but it was stopped by a barrier made out of glyphs.

As she was airborne Layla just let out a cocky smile although there was one thought in her head upon seeing her fellow hunter tearing the back of the creature apart.

"This guy is savagely butchering it, but he Is going far too slow he should have done some serious damage to the thing by now. surely he had hit something vital with his random attacks?" Layla thought while Noel acted like a grumpy old man and thought her to be too cocky for her good … (he wasn't far off the mark with that aspect of her) she wasn't a complete dumbass at letting her guard down went she did her spectacle. "this Grimm likely an older one judging by its age and thought body huh?"

In this case, was a "Kill this thing death quickly and don't bother with being stylist Too much" type of deal.

In her opinion, blind fury had its merits as shown in this monochrome guy's vicious attacks that were distracting the Grimm.

That said he looked like he was far too focused on dealing as much damage as possible rather than finding a way of killing it.

On top of that, he was irradiating hatred, malice, and rage, she didn't need to have an emphatic semblance to feel that.

Especially since his eyes, roars, and actions gave that up.

This was a bad thing since this huge fucking Aracno Asura was probably attracted by him in the first place, however judging by its bone plates the Grimm was likely an older one contempt to look at a distance which begs the question.

Why it was actively being attacked in the first place?

"This is going to be a pain in the ass" Layla could only think of how long this battle was going to be. the thing was tough as nails to kill, nearly like the type of Grimm you will find in Mantel or Atlas, nearly not the same which it wasn't as bad as that type of unfair fuckery, still it was awful "not a complete mess to kill them, but still a hassle to deal with, for gods sakes, you needed to attack this big fucker didn't you? you edgy jackass?"

This meant she and everyone else needed to deal with the Aracno Asuras bullshit congrats monochrome guy.

Meh, Layla had to deal with worse shit. when she stepped onto the last glyph it flipped vertically at her mental command, she was the bullet while the glyph was the gun, she readied her guitar, as she channeled aura into the glyph electricity going through it, and then she was shot toward its tail.

The Grimm anticipating this, made its tail dodge the hit, she she had enough momentum and managed to nick it, creating a gash that leaked ichor making the creature scream.

She maneuvered in the air and landed vertically on a tree her smile gone replaced by a serious face looking at the ground fighting it.

The Tsukumogami ran off towards Noels' side and started attacking the thing's legs alongside Noels' golems.

Noel ordered to attack first with electricity but stopped for a split second before he mentally changed the order

The golems hit its legs trying to break them without the use of dust.

Precisely because it would have hurt the person on top of the Arachno Asuras

The other individual was shooting at its legs with different types of dust with their gun arm, as wrathful hot white spears manifested orbiting around them, impaling some of the grim's legs, followed by exploding violently making it roar in pain.

Meanwhile, Noel himself was cutting and punching the legs off.

Noel grew upset and shot the Arachno asura in the front from below.

After the conflagration, It had the effect of only dizzying it for a bit then pissing off the creature, which was followed by jumping into the air, getting annoying insects away from the lower softer part of its body, and stopping the destruction of its legs.

On top of the creature of Grimm, the sudden jump almost made the insane teenager on its back fall he however was quick enough to use his claws like hooks piercing its side to cling to the Grimm's flesh, in attend to not let go.

Had it not been by the tail of the creature hitting him while they were both at the apex of his jump, tearing a chunk of its flesh as he was sent down.

In panic Carmine and Noel were running around like headless chickens trying to catch Grey who landed painfully on top of Noel.

This was all disorganized combat with no plan, everyone reacted quickly without any long-term thinking to kill this thing all witnessed by Layla.

"Fuck this is not going well," Layla thought her mind one hundred percent focused now on just killing this thing without any bragging. "agg well it's time to think about something now"

Which required her to take this seriously and take charge of the disorganized mess of a team she was now working with.

Fantastic.

Noel straightened along with the feral hunter getting him up, but before they both jumped into the fray again, at the very mad Grimm.

"Hey!" Carmine stopped, Noel on the other hand had Layla's yelling going from one ear to the other since he kept going until.

"Noel gods dammit stop and listen!" Layla yelled a second time, but he still was walking "Noel you dumbass fucking stop, and You too you stupid edgy moron!"

Noel stopped walking and looked at her with annoyance in his face, even though he didn't have the right to do so.

"What now!?" Noel yelled back pretty much miffed at her, Layla couldn't care less.

"Who are you calling edgy!? You grungy punk?" Grey replied while gesturing angrily at her "And by your information, I like to dress like this, is a style thank you very much."

Layla just rolled her eyes at the monochrome fucker at least he was capable to pay attention, unlike Noel that needed to be yelled at, three gods dammed times although Carmine was looking Grey him with a face that said "Finally"

"You two get your asses here, that thing, needs more of a plan than simply hitting it till its death," Layla said closing her eyes for a second in irritation " And you mister Mcedgy don't go off like an impulsive dumbass towards it that thing it has a tough skin "

"Tch and what better plan do you have?" Grey asked miffed although pointedly trying not to look at the Grimm "And I said it again just because I like to dress in black and white colors doesn't mean I am edgy seriously what the hell? I am not even carrying multiple unnecessary belts, or have a bandage on my arm o I am not that extra gods dammit!"

Layla just looked him up and down evaluating him which only made Grey uncomfortable.

"Your claws and blades in your weapon, say otherwise" Layla quickly pointed out at the weapons of the owner making Grey growl and pout, holy fuck he was petulant "Anyways Macedge's silly reaction aside, we need to kill this thing one blow, we cannot hit it till it is death-like you were planning, not to mention those multiple hands are a hassle to neutralize"

"Yeah my golems cannot electrocute it if someone is on top of it which would be annoying, "Noel said his piece while not referring to Grey specifically, he turned his head towards Carmine " Although you manage to blow some, of his feet up with those white lances"

"..." Carmine couldn't say anything for a moment they were a bit too nervous but given the situation"...ugg"

"Hey buddy are you alright?" Noel asked in concern only for Carmine to just nod their head.

"Y-yeah just…my abilities are related to heat, controlling its shape, absorbing it and emitting it, what you saw whats that…" Carmine explained with a bit of a quiet voice. "N-Names is Carmine by the way nice to meet you"

Layla just Raised an eyebrow at this, still, it was useful info, but it seemed that they have problems communicating with people.

"One question how much heat you can adsorb and then throw in?" She asked quickly gears grinding in her head.

"A-a lot there are many things I could do with it even I can absorb any creature heat at a limited range, creating a zone in which I can do it but that takes time" Carmine explained

Layla nodded" For now we don't use that, Noel can you give me one of your golems? I would need it to jump-start my control of electricity again I am getting a bit low on the aura tank"

Noel agreed one of the golems moved towards her at his mental command.

"Now you two Noel and Macedgy you distract it, also Noel take a look at him and get him out of Dodge went I signal you," Layla said ignoring the Glare from Gray.

"I have a name you know!? It's Grey jerk!" Grey replied annoyed at her.

"Whatever you say Macedge," Layla said monotonously, while she left with Carmine and the golem.

Before he could reply to that Grey felt a hand on his shoulder he quickly turned his head startled to meet with Noel.

"She is only doing that to get a raise out of you," Noel said "By the way just fight on this thing flanks It was incredibly stupid of me to attack it from below and I don't think jumping on his back again would work either"

Grey was bothered by this but forcibly calmed down, He followed Noel with his, golems.

The two hunters-in-training shot like bullets in opposite directions from the Aracno Asura.

Blinded by hatred that was beyond logic Grey jumped and punched the Grimm on his flank.

While Noel was relieved for a bit given that Grey even in that state listened to him.

Noel was still worried that Grey was still mindlessly pummeling the creature with sheer wrath.

It was enough negativity that he suspected the only reason the Aracno Asuras didn't try to crush them with their weight previously when He and Carmine were below it, was because Grey was an enormous beacon of the Miasmic malice making the Grimm focus on him.

Noel didn't like that one bit.

Especially because of how tough the Grimm seemed to be.

Hateful Claws, punches, kicks, and bites echoed as they collided with the Grimm's flesh, and Noel couldn't help but think "And I thought I was too emotional,"

Noel recalled the past and how he liked to blame himself

His mind took as an example those moments when he encountered mini hordes when he lost control over his emotions it wasn't time to reminisce on those ugly moments now.

Noel with a mental command, sent the other construct he had left, but he pushed his aura all around his body and grabbed three vials of gravity dust.

Depending on what material he used to make golems, it if was a hard one, it would be slower but tough to destroy, the lighter and softer the material, the faster he created golems with the drawback of a golem being fragile.

it even got a bit more costly if he made them have the common of using spells, that Noel could use but they reduced his aura all the same.

That didnt mean he could get around that.

The two humanoids made out of air and gravity shot directly toward the Grimm at ridiculous speeds.

Noel could swear he heard a clasp similar to a whip briefly breaking the sound barrier when some of their hits landed on the arms and head.

Noel then jumped towards the Aracno Asuras, joining the fray by cutting the Aracno Asuras' softer and not protected parts.

He quickly loaded his gauntlet with ammo, he clutched his arm activating the switch combining the drill and gun function, this made the drill open and shot a scarlet-shaped spear, destroying several arms that spawned from the orifices on his torso, in an explosion of fire

That said the majority of its arms absorbed the damage due to being spawned with harder bone plates, the explosion however destroyed a chunk of them and broke some of the plates.

The thing screamed in angered pain and responded with a tail-whip.

When Noel and Grey jumped over and resumed their attack distracting the Grimm.

Noel then suddenly felt a drain of his aura reserves but from someone he knew, green vines of all types suddenly started bursting from the earth, slapping, slashing, and grabbing its legs injuring it further

The bigger ones aimed towards its head trying to give the Grimm a concussion, while this maintained the majority of the arm occupied, some of them snuck away from it.

It was clear that the monster was using the rest of its eyes to cover the rest of its body.

"Crouch!" Teresa's order reverberated in Noel's cranium he obliged evading a conglomeration of numerous arms that attended to punch him "Roll way"

as he did so, the second attack came from its impaler tail hitting the place he previously vacated it was fast enough to create a bit of shockwave

Noel stepped back getting away from the multiple attacks that followed as the grim blindly tried to kill him, painting the strike zones with dark ichor.

Grey on the flank of the creature, instinctually dodged the remaining hands, his mind was still one hundred percent focused on the Grimm and only on the Grimm if one bothered to examine how he moved it would noted that he wasn't even paying attention to the strikes.

It was pure primal instincts that made him dodge those retaliations without him even being conscious of it.

Still, it only got him so far, a congregation of punches tried to crush Grey which he dodged, and weaved, however, some managed to hit him, Grey didnt care, he went through them regardless.

He just stomped on some beneath his feet as he used them as platforms to get away still uncaring for the strikes he received.

To top some strikes were towards his face, which was immediately countered when he opened his maw and brutally BIT on one of the hands crushing it, tearing a chunk, and then eating it.

It multiplied Grey's strength, as he seemed to get even more relentless in his retribution, meeting the crushing strikes with bladed claws, lead, and teeth, reducing the strikes to mush.

all the while a wicked horizontal half-moon split Grey's face in two.

Needless to say, he was having the time of his life.

Noel on the other hand was still evading the attacks, On some occasions dicing limps Teresa bursting them with plant life, his golems crushing them and Teresa bursting plant life on its limps which he tore away with its spawning arms.

One of Noel's last golems was speared down to his core by the tail, exploding in a flash of static paralyzing the grim as the conflagration broke the tail spear, via imolation.

Noel was quite bruised, he couldn't evade all of the attacks so it wasn't surprising

A punch from the creature's many arms struck him in the chest, Bareilly raised his gauntlet as a shield as the attack sent him flying the momentum made him tumble, he reacted quickly as his body made contact with the earth, a hand made out of dearth grabbed him in the middle of the air, not unlike a baseball ball.

the hand let him down gently, then by his command, it dissolved into a pile of dirt, and then Noel briefly looked towards Carmine and Layla.

It was a glyph with a white-hot constructed spear on top of it, the glyph was also on top of the nucleus of one of his golems charging the spear.

It looked like it packed quite the punch.

after that, he jumped back into the fray, stabbing, slashing, sidestepping and retaliating

He received clawed strikes, a strike to the jaw that almost dropped him and one to the back of the spine making him fall into his knee which was followed by the ground shaking.

"Jump away from it!" Teresa yelled in his head, Noel didn't need to be told twice that he needed to move.

A hand made out of dirth again manifested by his will threw him away from what was about to burst below the earth.

As he landed on the ground and stopped up, myriads of hands started sprouting from the ground like twisted black flowers and surrounding the Asuras in a wall of dark, some of the hands also tried to hunt a running Noel, but they were lesser in number compared to the ones that Gray needed to deal with.

Noel cut them and destroyed them with a gauntlet canon, more Air element golems, and war scythe arms but more came.

Gray for his part was dancing between the waves of hands with bone plates, crushing them, slicing them, shooting them, and devouring them.

The more he ate, the more his body recovered from previous strikes from the Asuras, his attacks became stronger and Grey acquired more speed.

It was still unnerving that Grey was devouring human-like hands.

Noel wasn't paying attention to that because he was simply focused on breaking down the things wall of arms while trying not to get killed.

Teresa's plants also help with the occasional whip attack at breakneck speeds cutting the arms.

Not to mention, Noel was aiming for the larger hands, his constant creation of air golems destroying them.

But Noel knew one thing, they both couldn't keep doing this forever.

The fight was dragging on too much in his opinion, as he felt tired.

Fortunately, Layla gave the signal.

"Get away!" The Schnee yelled.

Noel at that exact moment scanned with his eyes seeking Grey, He was quite far from him, so he ran towards the Monochromatic berserker and went he was in a sufficient distance.

Noel shot his prosthetic arm which got longer and Thine, Noel grabbed Grey by the coat of his jacket the Berserker teenager didnt realize his focus was on the destruction of the monster.

Then Noel ran past Grey taking Grey in the opposite direction of the child of destruction as his arm reeled back not losing strength even if the prosthesis looked fragile.

The momentum of Noel's speed also helped drag Grey along.

Grey protested by growling in a frustrated manner while trying to get out of Noel's grasp.

"Quedate quieto joder no podemos quedarnos en el radio de la explosion!" Noel slipped up into Vacuan. before Grey could complain more.

A white pillar of light leaking sparks flew towards the beast, with a sound similar to thunder or like the weapons manufactured by Atlas Reverberated across the forest.

Noel turned his head to see, if it weren't for his heightened senses given by his Aura he couldn't have perceived what looked like the needle of plasm and despite that, his eyes could hardly follow such a destructive spear.

The grim created another wall of arms that was pierced through regardless of protection or more as it vaporized it along with the creature's head and torso consumed in a brilliant light.

For a solid minute, the Grimm looked like a stone statue that didn't move until they saw the black particles floating from the Grimm's body.

The hands fell as if they were puppets without strings along with the rest of what was left of it, its body completely inert and dissolving.

just as that happened Gray's body shrank in size and his skin color returned to bronze.

"Well…it wasn't as flashy as I wanted, but it was better than grinding at the thing until night came about," Layla said " Good job you two for distracting it"

"You are welcome," Noel said while Grey looked at the dead Grimm judging by his expression he was impressed by the attack given his open jaws.

"Well I will be dammed if that isn't effective," The Monochromatic teenager said his face returning to a Monotone mask "Even if it was my prey, it is appreciated"

"P-please next time don't jump at an older Grimm like that, I needed to deal several with the stragglers you injured and attracted," Carmine said which only Made Grey click his tongue " Even if we managed to kill all of the herd you shouldn't have tracked down the older leader and try to kill it"

Grey wanted to protest to that but he couldn't find it in himself he felt guilty he was an impolite jerk at times (which bothered him) but he wasn't an asshole "To be honest arent older Grimm a thread? it was better to get rid of him before it became more of a danger…at least that's my excuse"

Noel just frowned at the Grey's logic it made sense, but they were still in training, Layla didn't react but she was worried because her refined ears, pinned down an obsessive tone in his voice

"That doesn't mean you need to attack all of them on sight, professor Goodwitch told us to not go on a rampage after all" Carmine pointed out which only made Grey groan in annoyance and the mention of his adoptive mother "She is not saying that just to annoy us you know? is almost like you cannot help it or something?"

Grey growled when he said that and looked directly at Carmine in the eyes, it wasn't a glare full of hatred, rage, or any other emotion, it was one full melancholy as an uncomfortable silence settled in.

"...oh sorry if that-" Carmine tried to apologize however

" Ok…I might have issues" Grey interrupted"It is not something you people need to worry about too much it's fine really"

"That doesn't seem to be the case, you might want to check that out, " Layla pointed out Making Grey irritated, she just put her hands in a defensive position "While I like the idea of manhandling that big fucker, I have my limits, Plush I am not suggesting you are crazy"

"We killed Grimm is not, an issue now," Grey said forcefully as he walked towards the relic along with Carmine "So can we take the dam relics and end this nonsense of a test please?"

Layla looked at Noel who made a troubled gesture. Layla just shrugged still with worry.

After Carmine and Grey got their Relics they were about to get back, and they heard another roar, this time it was far more natural but Grey was the first to react with a slight panic in his eyes.

Grey was reminded of the first time he was mauled by an animal with a similar roar.

"Oh fucking Come on what the hell is this time!" Noel protested. "we have enough with that Asuras"

"Just for the record Is not my fault this time," Grey said with a high-pitched voice letting out some fear while defending himself from any future blame he may accrued at this moment

"Really dude? That's what you are fixated upon?" Layla protested only for Grey to shrug making her roll her eyes, although she still noticed the slight nervous shake he was exhibiting, what a team she got to meet, although it not that this bothered her in any way.

All four were prepared for whatever enemy would appear in the three lines, and they didn't get disappointed, the ground shook as the animal stepped, the birds fled away from it, and a pair of green eyes met then.

The pair of emerald orbs were getting closer a sharper, appearing from between the trees, it got bigger and bigger until it stopped roughly at the size of a two-story house.

The color of the hair was brown almost reaching black, and the gigantic front legs with wicked claws hit the ground, leaving marks scarring the earth.

The animal's face was a strange bear-boar hybrid, but it had other features, such as Dust crystals growing on its long claws and a tail with a sharp end.

Other characteristics of the animal included claws, bulled, and blade scars, some of them were bigger and looked singed probably from territorial fights, against Grimm, huntsmen, or other animals of his species.

The animal started to growl at them in anger and a ghostly aura started appearing around the creature.

"So guys I think I am not the only one that thinks we should just run?" Noel said a bit spooked by the omnivore that likely had its aura unlocked which was a bad time since they all feel drained in some way or another " I don't see the necessity to piss him off"

As he said that the animal roared at them, pouncing at them at furious speeds.

"Mmm looks like Who had woken up early," Professor Ozpin said taking a sip of his mug while he looked at the display on his tablet" Glynda dear can you and Port deal with this It Looks like Port's old friend is out, and about"

Glynda just turned her head in alert as Ozpin said that and looked at Ozpin's tablet at the team his adoptive son was with, her eyes shrunk a bit went she saw Grey and the Boarker in the display.

Flashes of a fairly ugly moment in her life when he returned injured by a stupid decision Grey made came into her mind.

"Oh Gods!" She exclaimed as she grabbed her scroll to call Port.

They both knew he was in the forest but they underestimated how long the animal would have been in hibernation, and the only thing Glynda was worried about its how Grey and his new teammates got involved with him in the first place.

What a stressful day.
