Yesterday, we waited and...nothing. I don't think things will be different today. Sora said he would be back…But a year has passed, and he hasn't come back yet. I wonder if he…
Merlin came today, unexpectedly. He acted as if he was just passing by. Everyone felt very curious about him. He charmed them with a few magic tricks, and now they are asking me when is that funny wizard coming back to the Wood. But he just came to ask questions—about Sora, in a way that no one noticed.
But I did. That's how I realized something happened to Sora…, and no one knows where he is now…Or if he's even still alive.
How am I going to tell them? Should I tell them? I'm not sure. I don't want them to do something risky, like going in his search. I don't think Sora's in a place that appears on maps. And if they can't do anything, they will be sad. Very sad. And I don't want them to be.
It's a pretty afternoon. I've just come back from school and I'm eager to do nothing with Pooh—my favorite thing to do after a whole day doing lots of things.
"Ready to go, Pooh bear?" I ask him as soon as I see him at the door of his house. But he keeps muttering something. "What is it?"
"I miss Sora." He pauses his muttering to say, and goes on with it.
"Yes, I miss him too…" I say, and start to wonder if this is the right time to tell him. Yes, I must tell him. "…Pooh…"
"So I'm calling him so he remembers us and comes visit us." Pooh explains, and goes back at it.
Now I realize of what he's doing. He's saying over and over: Sora, Sora, Sora, Sora…
He needs to know, I say to myself. He's his friend. He needs to know.
"But, Pooh…"
But I bite my tongue. Because I know I would be lying.
Sora, you're not gone forever. You're just...at school. Somewhere where we can't reach you. I feel you, here, inside my heart.
Yes, I know you are all right, so I'm not afraid.
I never thought I could go back, myself. But I am back, and I know you will, too, wherever you are.
So I smile instead and join him. I raise my head to the sky and say: Sora, Sora, Sora, Sora….
Don't worry. If you can't find the way back in the darkness—, we will be the light that will guide you back.
The messy bedroom of a child, all full of toys scattered all around. There are drawings on the small desk by the window, of tigers and piglets and donkeys, and kangaroos, and rabbits and owls—and of a boy, a duck and a dog. Next to them lies a book. WINNIE THE POOH, is written on the cover. Below it, a young boy and a teenager are sitting on a log, under a blue sky, one on the right, the other on the left, and in the middle, a yellow bear.
THE END
