Chapter 1: Prologue
It was a beautiful day in Yavin, a moderate size city, as everyone was enjoying their everyday lives, whether they be doing some shopping, rushing to get to work, or even spending time with friends and family. With how everyone was living their fullest with this peaceful day, they didn't have to worry about anything going wrong today. But as all good things go, all good things have to come to an end. Suddenly, a small explosion came out of nowhere, causing the citizens to panic and run away from the area. From out of the cloud of dust, a large, strong humanoid reptile with sharp claws and grey scales came leaping into the streets with large bags over its shoulders, causing havoc by landing onto the roofs of oncoming cars very hard, and shoving innocent bystanders just to keep running. Soon, it leaped onto a highway to continue making his escape, but was soon cut off by a blockade of police vehicles, as well as some heroes.
"Ahh, crap... Heroes!" The thief exclaimed as he made a U turn to escape the authorities, with the heroes giving chase. The thief soon leapt back into the busy streets to make sure to get away from his pursuers. As the small chase was ensuing, a figure was standing on the roof top hearing the commotion. This figure is an adult man, wearing a blue mask that covers his mouth, tied at the back of his head with red yarn, red shinobi shozoku underneath a blue robe. His arms covered in a thin, dark cloth that tucks into his white forearm sleeves, and also red straps attached to his belt and his robe that extend outward. Finally, wears a gold mask attached to his right shoulder and sports a signature red scarf with a white patch attached to the front. Currently ranked 5th in the Japanese hero chart: The Ninja Hero: Edgeshot. Edgeshot soon sprang into action, leaping over buildings to catch up to the situation.
The chase still continues, as most heroes had to split up in order to tend to the pedestrians that might have been hurt during the chase or going up ahead to try and cut him off.
The thief knew that he would get caught soon enough, so he needed to think of a way to get away from the heroes with his loot. When he was trying to come up with a plan, he soon saw a young teenage girl with orange hair and teal eyes. Seeing her was just the opportunity he needed to make his escape plan, so he went to rush up right in front of the girl, scooped her up with one of his scaly hands, and took a turn towards an alleyway. As soon as they reached a dead end, the heroes soon caught up and surrounded him, making sure he didn't escape.
This act alone only caused the reptile to smile. "Now listen here, heroes. You either let me go with the loot, or else this pretty face is going to get it!" The thief warned as he had one of his sharp claws close to her neck, causing the girl to be slightly scared. Seeing how they don't have any other option at the moment, they backed away a little bit to see if they can try to diffuse the situation or wait for backup. We soon see Edgeshot on top of a roof looking at the hostage situation, he started to analyze and see how to stop it. What none of the heroes nor the villain even noticed about, the girl was so scared that she looked up and asked for a miracle, she saw Edgeshot standing above them. The ninja hero soon held his pointer finger in front of his mouth, gesturing to her to stay quiet. The hostage saw the gesture and slightly nodded, just enough to not attract attention.
Edgeshot slowly crawled to the end where he would be on top of the thief and he made sure to descend quietly, not wanting to attract any attention. The villain was so full of himself that he didn't detect another presence. Suddenly, the villain's eyes opened widely, as he started to drool a little, and then finally collapsed onto the ground, unconscious. They were confused about what had just happened.
"Just so you know, you guys seem to be getting a little slow." A voice said as they looked around for who said that, then rested their eyes on the villain, from which they see a bunch of red strings coming from the body, with the Ninja Hero partially returning to his body. "Just because of how he had a hostage, doesn't mean that he was in complete control of the situation."
Ninja Hero: Edgeshot. Quirk: Foldabody. Foldabody grants the user the ability to manipulate the thinness of their body as well as stretch their limbs. But when the body stretches too thin, it gradually affects the user's own lifespan, to the point at which it slowly starts to fade away.
Soon, everyone got out of their stupidity, and soon the other heroes started slightly surround him, thanking him for helping them out with the situation. But what broke him out of their praise was the girl that was held captive, who was sitting down, trying to relax after everything that has happened to her. Edgeshot soon pardoned himself from the other heroes and went to go and comfort the girl.
"Are you alright?" The ninja hero asked.
"A little shaken up, but I'll be alright." The girl responded.
"What is your name, miss?" Edgeshot asked.
"My name is Kendo. Itsuka Kendo." The girl, now known as Kendo, answered.
"I have to say, you sure showed some bravery back there, I guess I could say that you have what it takes to be a hero." Edgeshot said, with Kendo being surprised for what he just said to her.
"I mean, I have been training hard in order to apply myself into entering UA." Kendo replied, enlarging one of her hands to show her power, leaving Edgeshot to only chuckle a little.
"Then I only wish you luck for getting into UA, young Kendo." Edgeshot replied as everyone soon started to hear sirens.
Soon the police caught up, separating the area to investigate the scene of the crime, and even transporting the thief into a police cruiser, ready to take him into custody as the police came to investigate what he had stolen. Edgeshot soon came to the officer in charge of the investigation and asked him what he robbed.
"Turns out he just robbed into an antique store, hoping to sell the artifacts and get paid for a little money." The officer responded.
"Sounds like someone who would try to make some quick cash." Edgeshot said as the officer nodded.
"Well the good news is that the items were undamaged and all accounted for, so we won't have to worry about filling out any insurance paperwork." The officer said as they started loading up the bag of goods, but was unseen for a scroll started to fall out of the bag.
"Well then, lets make sure the goods get back to where they belong." Edgeshot said as the other officers managed to get the bag into the vehicle, but failed to notice a scroll flew and started to roll away.
As Kendo was being checked up and waiting to be immediately discharged, she felt a small bump on her right foot, looking down, and seeing a scroll besides her. Curiosity getting the best of her, she picked it up and noticed how the item has a price tag on it and saw the police was about to drive away until she pieced it together and took off towards the cruiser.
"Wait, hold up!" Kendo cried out as she started to run towards the already leaving car, but luckily for her, the cruiser stopped just before it can pick up more speed. As Kendo got closer, she was holding the item in her hand.
"I think you guys may have forgotten something." Kendo said as she showed the officers the scroll.
"Huh, would you look at that? Looks like we didn't notice." One of the officers said.
"Looks like we should take note and make sure that nothing is left unturn. Thanks for bringing it back miss." Officer 2 said.
"No problem, I mean, do you know how much paperwork you would have to fill for just one lost item?" Kendo asked, earning a few chuckles from the officers.
"Yeah, that would be somewhat of a nightmare." Officer 1 replied.
"Is everything alright?" The police inspector asked as he and Edgeshot came over to see what the holdup was.
"Oh yeah, all good, just turned out we forgot to grab something and take it back to the store." Officer 1 answered.
Kendo just rubbed the back of her head with her hand. "It's not that big of a deal, I just wanted to make sure that everything is back to the rightful owner." she said as she started to hand the item to the authorities
"Wait, hold on. Just out of curiosity, I wonder what's inside it?" One of the officers asked, stopping her and wondering about it herself.
"You know, I'm actually curious about it myself." Kendo replied as she now looked at everyone, asking them if it was alright to have a quick look.
"Well, given how it is still in police custody, I say it wouldn't hurt to just have a quick peek." The inspector said. "And besides, it doesn't really hurt from reading something."
Soon, Kendo unwrapped the string connecting to the parcel, as they looked at what was written. From what can be seen on the papyrus, it could be thousands of years old just from how tattered the paper was, and with some writings and drawings on the parchment. The drawings showed a black and purple monster standing above fallen figures, conjuring up a dark orb.
Kendo was confused at what she was seeing in front of her. "What even is this? I can't make heads or tails of what this says." Soon Edgeshot got a closer look at the scroll, he was surprised of what it was.
"I can, it seems that this was written in the language of our ancestors." the ninja hero replied as everyone was slightly shocked of what he said.
"Does that mean you can be able to read it?" Kendo asked.
"I might not be able to decipher what all the symbols mean, but I can try." Edgeshot replied as he continued to read until he saw a symbol he was familiar with. "By the looks of this, this scroll is supposed to be some kind of prophecy."
"Prophecy?" Both police officers and Kendo asked.
"It means to tell the future." The investigator replied.
"Well, what does it say?" Kendo asked.
"It says here that 'One day, a silent savior of both light and shadow will rise to defeat the growing destruction, alongside with the power of unity.'" Edgeshot finished reading as everyone can now see the drawings of a warrior in gray, with the silhouette of a gray dragon, defeating the monster alongside a figure in lime green.
"Woooow." Everyone said in amazement to what they just heard.
"Hold on, if this was supposed to be a prophecy, then would that mean that it could happen?" Officer 1 asked.
"Maybe so, but what did it mean about 'growing destruction'?" Officer 2 asked as Kendo was remembering what the scroll said, "A silent savior...?" She asked herself as she was just thinking of something. "Maybe the prophecy is trying to say something about a ninja."
"And what makes you say that?" Edgeshot asked. "Because how many kinds of 'silent savior' are there in the world?" Kendo asked as everyone figured she was on to something.
"Well anyway, it has been a long day, and I think we should be taking it easy now after everything that you have been through miss." the investigator said.
"Yes sir." Kendo said as she gave the scroll to the police and made their separate ways. Kendo soon started to make her walk back home, still in thought about what the scroll means, and possibly when it might happen.
As the sun began to set, and some of the people being done for the day, decided to head home and be ready for what tomorrow would bring them, while others were still excited from the fight they witnessed, decided to stay out a little bit longer and do some nighttime strolls in the colorful city. With Edgeshot leaping onto rooftops while patrolling the area, he looked down to see the happy smiles that everyone had and gave a small smile of his own underneath his scarf. If he knows that if he keeps doing what he was trained to, he will keep the peace.
Meanwhile, in the outskirts of the city, far within the forest, a distant rumble can be heard, which soon increases into the sound of thunder, a crack started to show above the tree line. The crack started to grow larger, soon opening and turned into a portal, while causing a massive shockwave, shaking the branches. A few seconds later, something came out of the opening and started to fall towards the ground.
"WAAAAAAAHHHHHH!" The figure, which sounds like a male, screamed as gravity was pulling him in and spinning out of control, not being able to ready himself for what is to happen next. He soon started to crash into the branches, which helped slow his fall a little, but ends up getting some scratches on his clothing as he lands on the ground hard, rolling uncontrollably down a hill, until he was able to stop rolling and lying down in a small clearing. As the figure tries to get up, we can see that he is a young man wearing a silver suit with black outlines, as well as dragon details on the suit, a small gold handle on his back, and through the small gap in the hood, we can see that he has silver eyes, as he looks up into the sky to see the portal, he tries to get back to the portal, but he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his right arm, left leg, and his stomach as he then fell down from the pain. The only thing that he can do was watch while on his stomach as the gap started to close and disappear while causing a large boom, just like it wasn't even there in the first place. The young figure was afraid and sad based on how his eyes were reacting, as he started to drift off.
"Noooo..." The figure can only say weakly before he collapsed from exhaustion and from the damage he received, lying unconscious in the cold, dark forest.
