"Fire….. All I see is fire…"
Sera is currently facing a terrible and horrific reality. Heaven has fallen as she has been chained to Heaven's former gates and observes the hellish carnage.
Winners are being subjugated, Overlords are collecting their trophies, and many of Heaven's most notable buildings are either burned, razed, or draped with the flag of the Morningstar.
"Where have I gone wrong….." Sera thought. It made her ponder why it happened.
Was it when she authorized another Extermination? Was it their pride in Heaven that they underestimated Hell's perseverance? Or was it due to Lute's arrogance that got them?
"Enjoying the view?"
Sera winced upon hearing the familiar voice. Wearing crimson armor, her breastplate shined with the symbol of the Morningstar at its center. Her hair fluttered in the wind, even as a few cinders touched her dark gray hair. On her left hand is a sword of Angelic Steel, dripping with fresh angelic blood. On her right, the head of the former leader of the Exorcists, Lute, was bruised and bloodied. Sera looked up and saw the face of her former sister, Emily.
"I hope you don't mind if I join you," Emily said to Sera, placing Lute's head beside her while sitting down beside her, observing the carnage of her former home.
"You know, I never forget the day you tossed me into Hell," Emily said, "I was such a fool to think that you would even listen to me. But no, you chose to betray me."
"Emily, I…." Sera said trying to convey her intentions when her fallen sister said, "Shut it."
The fallen angel stood up and suddenly thrust her sword into Sera's chest, causing her to scream in absolute agony.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!" Sera wailed in pain, causing her to cough blood that splattered onto Emily's armor.
"How does it feel, Sera?" Emily said with seething anger, "Does it remind you of the same pain that you inflicted upon me? The same place you stabbed me."
"Does it!?" Emily said while quickly removing the blade from Sera's abdomen.
Sera coughed and wheezed, her blood dripping from her mouth, even after the damned blade was gone from her chest.
With a ragged breath, Sera tried to speak but mustered some of her strength to say to Emily the one thing that could reach her, "Forgive me….."
Emily noticed that Sera was trying to say something and said, "What did you say?"
"Forgive me….. Emily….." Sera said, tears dropping from her face, "I'm sorry."
"Sorry?" Emily said in disbelief, "Sorry!?"
The fallen angel grabbed Sera's hair and lifted her to see her face burning with fury.
"Do you know how much I've suffered because of what you've done!?" Emily said, "I trusted you! I cared for you! And when I pleaded with you to give redemption a chance, you threw me to Hell!"
"I thought… I thought it was-" Sera said when Emily punched her, causing her cheek to swole.
"No, you don't get to beg," Emily said to Sera until she grabbed her sword and pointed its tip at Sera's neck.
"Now… die…." Emily said with a cold-hearted tone as her blade swung to the former Seraphim's neck.
"NO!"
Sera jolted from her bed, panting from the horrible nightmare that she experienced. Her breathing slowed as she realized it was just a dream. A nightmare.
"Again… It happened again…" Sera thought as it was not the first time this kind of dream happened.
It all started when the sinner known as Sir Pentious appeared in front of them without entering the Golden Gates. Sera would then inquire the former Sinner what happened as the snake explained all that transpired during the Extermination. He was valiantly defending the hotel when he saw that Adam was about to destroy it. Realizing that he must stop him from doing so, he went to his former rival, Cherri Bomb, kissed her, and went to his airship. He was about to fire his death laser when Adam immediately destroyed it in a second. Yet somehow, he was redeemed and entered Heaven.
Due to this, Emily is ecstatic that Charlie's plan has worked and tells Sera to give Charlie the good news. Because of this, Sera told Emily that there would be time to announce it and used Sir Pentious' arrival as an excuse that Emily must show Sir Pentious what Heaven is like. Luckily, it worked and Emily decided to give the redeemed Sinner a weeklong tour of Heaven.
Unfortunately, it would give rise to a series of dreams that frightened Sera if she banished Emily to Hell. One dream depicted Emily hating Sera and declaring that the Morningstars are her family. Another dream would show Emily killing Lute and routing the Exorcists back to Heaven. But the worst dream was a while ago when Emily was about to decapitate her. Every day, it brought Sera to the point that she wondered if it was her guilt that drove her to have these nightmares. With each passing day, Sera tried her best to keep herself from spilling it all out to Emily until a letter arrived, revealing it to be from the Archangels. The letter explained that they had found out about the failed Extermination and the redeemed Sir Pentious. They demanded that Sera, Emily, Sir Pentious, and the Exorcists come to the courtroom to explain the situation in the coming weeks.
"Yes…. Today….." Sera said to herself while breathing slowly until she regained her composure, "Today is the meeting."
Sera gets up from her bed, but a knock on her door interrupts her.
"Come in," Sera replied as the door opened, revealing Emily in her nightgown.
"Good morning, Sera," Emily replied as her chipper self, "I suddenly heard you scream. Are you okay?"
Sera looked at Emily with a blank face as she realized that Emily heard her sudden outburst.
"Yes…. I'm quite alright Emily," Sera said with reassurance, "I just had a bad dream. There's no need for you to be concerned."
"Are you sure?" Emily said as she walked towards Sera.
The young seraphim has noticed that Sera has been bothered since Sir Pentious's arrival and that she's been trying to learn more about what her sister is going through. Not to mention the letter from the archangels has announced that they're
"We can talk about it right now. If you want to…."
Sera sighed and placed her hand on her little sister's shoulder, "Emily, I know this is a bad time but we have more important matters to discuss. Our meeting with the archangels demands our utmost attention."
"But Sera-" Emily said when the elder Seraphim placed her finger on her sister's mouth.
"Please, Emily," Sera said with a hint of sorrow, "We'll discuss this when this is over. I promise."
Sera removed her finger from Emily's mouth until Emily sighed, "Ok. That's a promise."
Emily left the room for Sera to ponder on what the archangels would do during their meeting. She wondered if it would end the Exterminations or pass judgment on either one of them. And if the latter were to happen, she hoped it would fall on her rather than Emily.
