Thor was just with these people calling themselves the Guardians of the Galaxy, and then he was in a room that was not a place he could recognize. Without him willing it, lightning starts to spark between his fingertips. He notices movement in the corner of his eye and whips around, ready to throw a blast of lightning at someone he assumes has kidnapped him at a time like this. When the Mad Titan has just murdered his brother and is attempting to murder half of the universe.
Only to find the rest of the Avengers slowly waking up. They look quite different from the last time Thor has seen them. For one, the Captain has a beard, now. Another is that they are separate from each other. Some stand with Steve, and others with Tony. In all honesty, Thor couldn't care less about the reason why right now. Because a being has just appeared in front of all of them, it gives off an aura that tells Thor that if he tried attacking he'd end up in the same position he had been when Thanos attacked the Statesman. It sent chills down his spine, and if he had been paying attention he'd have seen the others having the same reaction.
Upon closer inspection, the being was not normal. It was more of a solid mass of mist and what Thor thought looked similar to his mother's magic swirling around inside the being. That realization was almost enough to knock Thor off his feet. Then he looked closer at their face. That's when he saw it.
"Mother?"
The being, his mother, smiled. She walked closer to him and placed her hand against his cheek.
"What are we doing here?" He knows it's rude to begin with that, but he needs to know the answer. A battle that could have trillions of casualties if they lose, and yet they are here in a place where he doesn't know what they are doing.
Her mouth doesn't move when her voice permeates the air, but the wisps of gold-like magic move to her voice. "My dear son, I was asked to bring you to see my son and your brother two hundred years from now."
She does not get to finish before a few reactions accured.
"Loki's alive!" That was Thor's, betrayed and wishful.
"Why him?" And that was Clint, anger clear in his voice and his face. Thor cannot blame him for his reaction. From a glance at his mother's face, she cannot either.
"No, he has already made it to Vallhala. He wishes to tell you, Thor, that he is sorry he couldn't find another option." Thor tears up hearing that. Because that means his brother didn't want to leave him, that there was a reason, even if Thor couldn't agree with it. "However, in two hundred years he will be reborn on Midgard to a human woman."
Bruce finds his confidence, knowing that he is talking to someone who is dead, but Thor's mother. "Excuse me, but if he has made it to the afterlife, how can he be reborn?"
Frigga smiles kindly, "When a person dies sacrificing their life so another can live, their soul will be split. One part will go to Vallhala, while the other waits in limbo for the right child to be born. That is who you are going to watch."
Tony doesn't look too happy about that knowledge. "And how long would that take? I mean no disrespect, but we were in the middle of something before you took us all here."
"No offence is taken, dear. You do not have to worry, the Mad Titan cannot complete his task while you are in here."
"And what about the others that I was with?"
Frigga lets out a small tinkle of a laugh. "If you mean the Spider, I can retrieve him for you. I believe he might like what is going to be shown."
"Spider?" Steve mutters to Natasha, who shrugs. As far as she knew, she would be the only spider he'd know. They have completely forgotten about the red and blue-clad hero who had been with Tony the last time they saw him.
Tony, however, was hesitant to agree but ultimately did. That's when a teenager appears next to him.
"Mr. Stark! Where are we? What is this place? Why does it feel like it has been a bit since we last talked? That doesn't make sense, we were just talking about how to work the ship."
That's the first thing they hear, and they're instantly reminded of Tony's frantic science-speak. It's a bit jarring.
Tony brings the kid closer to him, wrapping his arm around his shoulders. "We are going to watch the future and the reincarnation of Loki."
Peter's eyes widen and he whispers, "The one from New York?"
He gets a nod in return, but that doesn't seem to be a deterrent for the teenager who seems to get excited.
"That's so cool! The future, Mr. Stark! The future!" His eyes were shining with curiosity and wonder.
A clap draws their attention back to Frigga. "Everyone, please have a seat and we can begin."
