Wisps of gold form into a screen, only Thor knows it for what it is, his mother's magic.
The gold wisps take shape and form a screen. It opens on a sunny day, the sun shining through the trees in front of an apartment building. A child's crying is heard before a second set joins. Softer than the first.
A lovely way to start things off; two children crying.
A boy with green hair and eyes is shown to be one of the children crying. "Why are you being so mean?" It zooms out to show the other crying child on the ground clutching his arm. "You're making him cry kacchan!"
"May I introduce you to the reincarnation of Loki," Frigga motions toward the green-haired boy.
Peter thought he looked adorable, but he was worried about this 'Kacchan' who was hurting him and the other kid.
The green-haired boy takes a defensive stance, a poor excuse of one, but one nonetheless. His body was trembling with fists clenched in front of his chest. "If you keep on hurting him, uh… I'll, uh… I'll stop you myself!"
It zooms out again to show a blonde kid with two dark-haired kids on either side of him, presumably their leader. The green-haired boy looks determined, if not scared out of his wits.
Tony whistles, "Three against one? I don't like those odds in this case."
The blonde hmphs, a cocky smile appearing on his face as the kid on his left unfurls a set of wings and the kid on the right lets his fingers grow long. "You wanna pretend to be a hero?" The winged kid lifts himself off the ground as the blonde brings his fist to meet his other hand, causing an explosion.
"You don't stand a chance without a quirk," the smile turns into a savage grin. "Deku."
'Deku' gasps and rears back with a look of terror. The three boys charge for the singled-out boy. All they hear is the clashing of fists on the skin for a moment before it jumps forward in time.
Peter winces and rubs his shoulder. He knows how that feels. It hurts and doesn't feel nice emotionally.
'Deku is then seen lying on his back with the other kid kneeling over him. He narrates, 'Here's the sad truth, all men are not created equal.'
The sky is shown. 'When I was four years old, I learned that some kids have more power than others.'
'Deku' is now older and running along a sidewalk. 'But that won't hold me back. If anything, it pushes me to do better.' He jogs in place waiting to cross the street. Once he can he is running under Sakura blossom trees. When he emerges he has a bright smile on his face and runs faster.
A huge guy is shown standing on top of a train track and roaring. 'Deku' stops to watch. The screen pauses taking on a comic-book look. The text on the screen indicates that his actual name is Izuku Midoriya.
Their eyes widen, they hadn't expected to see someone that big. Oh, how they will be surprised to know that isn't the tallest someone can be in the future.
He gasps, "That's one huge supervillain!"
A flashback starts. A hospital is shown with the light on in one room. Izuku narrates, 'The first incident was in Qingqing City.' It zooms into the room to show that the light wasn't on, but the baby crying in its crib was glowing.
"That's an interesting power," Steve states.
"I'm guessing it's not people with powers, but people who were born with powers?" Thor asks to which Frigga nods.
'An extraordinary child was born who radiated light.' As the baby continues crying, the night nurse is trying not to scream.
People are shown, one child's arm is covered in fire, and another is covered in ice. 'After that, reports of people with superpowers popped up across the globe.' A boy is seen using his mind to turn the pages of a book. 'No one knew what was causing these quirks.' The world is shown spinning.
'Before long, the supernatural became the totally normal. Dreams a reality.' A man in red, white, yellow, and blue appears on the screen taking steps forward.
"Who's that?" Peter looks excited. "He looks kind of cool."
'The world became a superhuman society, with about 80% of the population possessing some uncanny ability.' The man walks out of the frame before appearing again from the back. 'Our streets looked like scenes from comic books. As cities swirled with chaos and confusion, a new profession dominated our collective consciousness.'
"Profession?" Steve mutters.
It goes back to the man on the train tracks roaring before rearing his arm back and striking an electrical tower. The civilians below backed away slightly. 'It was an age of heroes.'
Another man wearing blue with what looks like caution tape runs into the scene and catches the tower before it hits the ground.
"Oh, nice! Way to go, Death Arms!" One civilian exclaims.
"The Punching Hero! I wish I had a quirk that made me super strong." Death Arms grunts before the screen takes on the comic-book look once again.
"Death… Arms?" Natasha keeps her stoic facial expression, but if you look closely enough you can see a small crease in her eyebrows.
A line of water zips past the civilians and forms a 'no crossing' sign. A man who looks like a mix of a firefighter and a hydrant is attached to the water. "Everyone, please stay back! This area is far too dangerous."
"Whoa, the rescue specialist, Backdraft is here?" One onlooker says. "He'll make sure we're okay!" The screen takes on the comic-book look.
Peter bounces in his seat. It doesn't take Tony long to notice and help him relax. "What's up, kid?"
"I love the comic book style it's doing when pausing on their faces." Tony laughs, though he agrees with him.
At the back of the crowd, Izuku is trying to see over everyone. "This guy must be pretty desperate to go full monster in the middle of the city. Do you know what happened?" One civilian asks.
"Just some amateur," mutters another. "Stole someone's bag, and then got himself cornered."
Izuku starts to squeeze his way through the crowd while the first civilian responds, "A quirk like that, and he's just a petty thief."
"You'd think they'd be more concerned at what the villain is to do now that he's cornered," Clint states.
Thor nods, "A cornered beast is a dangerous beast."
Izuku passes a man on the phone, "I got held up. Train's out. Another villain. I'm not sure when I'm gonna make it into the office." Another man practically flies over the crowd.
"That's unfortunate," Peter quips. "But if this is normal then that means he can't be fired for being late."
"Who's that, though?"
Girls are shown squealing, "It's Kamui!" A man in the background to them looks weirded out by their reactions. Kamui is now seen to be in a suit made of wood, or by the looks of his arms, he might be made of wood. "We're your biggest fans!"
Kamui jumps towards the tracks, in midair above the villain. Said villain doesn't take kindly to this. "Get away from me or I'll break you, toothpick!"
"Toothpick?" Tony snickers.
Izuku finally makes it to the front of the crowd next to a man with three spike things on his head. "This is gonna be good!" Izuku gasps, causing the man to look at him.
The villain throws a punch at Kamui while growling, but he dodges with ease, extending his arm to wrap around a scaffold. "It's Kamui Woods!" Izuku exclaims in excitement before the screen takes on the comic-book look.
Back with Izuku and the man, "He may be new, but he's making a big name for himself!"
The man beside him closes his eyes with a smile, "One look at that dopey grin and I know what you are." Izuku looks at the man with embarrassment. The man points at Izuku's chest, "A fanboy!"
"Uh… Sorta…" Izuku whispers, now looking extremely nervous.
"Fanboy?" Clint wasn't buying it. There was no way he would believe that Loki wasn't lying through his teeth this entire time. If he wasn't then… That's not something Clint wants to think about.
Kamui runs down the track, leaping into the air before the villain's big palm can crush him into splinters. He lands on the villain's arm, runs up it and wraps his extended arm around the villains wrist when he moved to block an attack.
The man lands safely on the roof of another building, kicking up dust when he lands. "Assault, robbery, and the illegal use of powers," Kamui lists off as he stares the villain down. "During rush hour traffic. You are the incarnation of evil."
"That was way too cringe-y, even for me," Peter groans in secondhand embarrassment.
Kamui punches his arm forward, branches growing rapidly from it.
Back with Izuku and the man in the crowd, the kid points, "There! His special move!"
The man shouts out his encouragement, "Come on, Tree Man, show us somethin' flashy!"
Peter leans forward in excitement. "It's like an action movie!"
Izuku holds his fist close to his face, eyes wide with excitement. "The Pre-emptive…"
"Binding…" Kamui continues what Izuku is saying, getting ready for his attack. The two finish together, "...Lacquered Chain Prison!" The branches rush off to make what could have been his finishing move, if not for another woman jumping into the fray.
"Canyon Cannon!" She shouts before kicking the villain, showing she is larger than the villain himself. Kamui stands there dumbfounded while the other heroes are shocked. Izuku and the man are no better.
Winces are heard around the room. They all know the feeling of another jumping in and taking down the enemy when they are about to do so. It isn't a nice feeling.
However, the looks of the other heroes on the scene and Izuku and the man is amusing.
The woman lands with a heavy thud. Back on the ground beside Izuku, some other fans sidle up beside him taking pictures of her from behind all while repeating 'money shot.' The kid jumps but is not interested in doing the same. She is now bent down picking up the villain by his pant leg.
"Those people are the worst," Clint snarls. He had to deal with those types of people with Nat. However, the only reason why he dealt with them was because if Nat did it she'd end up killing them.
"Piece of cake for the world's next hottest hero," she turns to face the crowd. "Hi there, everyone, I'm Mt. Lady. And you don't have to worry about this bum anymore." She winks as the men with cameras continue taking pictures.
The crowd cheers while Izuku writes in his notebook.
Kamui is still standing there in shock while his attack is partially formed. "Wait, she's getting all the credit?"
Tony shrugs, "Unfortunately, that's how it goes sometimes. The person who deals the finishing blow is the day's hero." He knows this well. After all, that's what happened after the Battle of New York. Children came up to him in awe for winning the day, not ignoring the contribution of the rest of the team but not bringing it up either. While Tony liked the recognition for what he did that day, he never liked how no one ever talked about the others. Or, at least, they never talked about it with him.
Mt. Lady waves her arms above her head as Izuku narrates once again. 'With the rise of superpowers came an explosive increase in criminal activity." She shrinks down to her regular height.
Seeing her shrink back down they now realize she was taller than the villain. How did they not realize that earlier?
Death Arms and Backdraft are shown. 'While governments were stuck trying to figure out how to reform laws with quirks in the mind, courageous people start performing heroic acts to keep our cities safe.'
A circle is formed by police around the villain who has ropes tying him up. Mt. Lady waves at the ring of photographers surrounding her and the police.
'Protecting us against villains who abused their powers for evil.' A reporter is trying to get a word from her as she continues to wave. 'With overwhelming public support, heroes found an official place as peacekeepers, overseen by the government.'
Steve doesn't look happy. Of course, he wasn't. That means his fighting for what he believed in meant nothing. Never mind that none of the heroes shown look uncomfortable or upset with their situation.
A zoom-in on Mt. Lady's face. 'Those who performed the best were paid the most and got all the fame and glory. Their careers depended on their ability to stay in the spotlight.' Her face changes to a horrifying example.
"That's understandable," Peter therorizes. "If it's an actual job they legally need to be paid and if it depends on their performance and how they look then you'd want to do and look your best."
Izuku is still in front of the battle scene, writing what he's saying down, "Gigantification, huh? Well, she's definitely got the looks and attitude to be a crowd favourite, and her quirk is really showy, but it'll be hard for her to get around in the city without damaging lots of things. That means she might not be very useful…"
Only Thor and Frigga knew how fast Loki's brain could move. The Avengers were shocked at how quick and intelligent the God was in his new life.
The man shows himself once more, "What's that, fanboy? You taking notes over there? Wanna be a hero, too, huh?"
Izuku turns to him and smiles wide, "Ah! Yes! More than anything!"
Clint wasn't buying it, and he wouldn't believe the man who mind-controlled him would ever want to be a hero.
He forgot that Izuku Midoriya is not Loki, and Loki is not Izuku Midoriya.
He might be the reincarnation of Loki, but he has no memories of his past life.
Clint forgot that, and he forgot that he didn't know Loki the longest. That would be Thor and his mother, Frigga. The two knew Loki better than anyone, and they knew this was something that Loki would have loved before he realized he was only the spare, second-best, and unimportant prince. They never believed those statements, but Loki was given enough evidence to piece the puzzle together.
So, no. Clint would not believe Izuku Midoriya would want to be a hero. To him, it didn't make sense.
