A/N: And we are back, ladies and gentlemen, to another exciting chapter of Dragon Ball Reincarnated! When we last saw our young Isekai protagonist, he had just died and met God who reincarnated him in another world. Just what kind of shenanigans and hijinks will Calvin get up to now? Let's read on and find out!
Disclaimer(Hobbes): "The following is a non-profit, fan based crossover. Calvin and Hobbes is owned by Universal Press Syndicate, Andrews McMeel Publishing, and Bill Watterson. Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT, and Dragon Ball Super are all owned by Funimation, Toei Animation, Shueisha, and Akira Toriyama. Please support the official release! Wait a minute, I'm not going to die in this chapter, am I?"
Director: "No, Hobbes, you are not. We just needed you to fill in since Calvin's still in the process of being reincarnated. And, uh, don't worry about your check, we'll send it to the P.O Box."
Hobbes: "Well, okay then."
Process of Reincarnation
"The flow of time, something's very odd about it…"
Within a plane of existence separate from time and space, a woman named Chronoa, otherwise known as the Supreme Kai of Time, was at quite a quandary. She noticed that several changes had been made to history, and all of it centered around a certain blonde human. One who wasn't supposed to be in this timeline at all.
Aiding her in trying to solve her case of historical hiccups was the Elder Kai, the Supreme Kai who had been sealed in the Z-Sword by Universe 7's God of Destruction, Beerus, long before Goku or any of his friends were born. They saw the scrolls glowing an unusual golden color and opened them up to reveal that certain events in the timeline, perhaps even the timeline as a whole, had been rewritten!
"Can't you do something about this?" Elder Kai asked.
"Believe me, I've been trying all day, but nothing is working!" replied Chronoa. "This just doesn't make any sense. Normally, I could fix a change in history like this no problem. But for some reason, I can't return history to how it was before."
"Do you think this has something to do with Towa and Mira?" Elder Kai asked.
But Chronoa just shook her head and said, "If they had been messing with history, the scrolls would be glowing that sinister purple color, not the radiant golden light that we're seeing right now. Something else is causing these changes in history.".
"Supreme Kai of Time! Elder Kai!"
The two Kais turned around and saw Trunks rushing into the Time Nest, and gasped as they practically fell backwards at what they were seeing.
For the most part, Trunks looked exactly the same as he usually did. Same lavender colored hair in a bowlcut, same serious blue eyes, and same Time Patrol uniform complete with Tapion's sword on his back. But there were some major changes that happened to him. For one, he had a pair of horns growing backwards out of his skull, the base of the horns hidden beneath his hair, obviously, and he had a tail like that of a reptile growing from the base of his spine! Not to mention the obvious dragon wings growing out of his back!
"T-Trunks? Is… is that… you?" stuttered Chronoa.
"Yeah, it's me." Trunks replied with a grin, revealing his longer and sharper than average canine teeth. "And I have a message for you. It's from the Zen-Ohs!"
He held out a scroll which the Supreme Kai of Time was quick to take and opened it up. She quickly read through it as the Elder Kai read over her shoulder. Their eyes practically bugged out of their sockets upon seeing what was written on that parchment. They could tell that it was written by the Grand Priest even though the letter itself was clearly from Grand Zen-Oh.
It reads…
'Dear Supreme Kai of Time,
I hope this letter finds you well. My Master, Grand Zen-Oh, is well aware of the young man who has been reincarnated into our world from a parallel world. One that is entirely separate from the twelve universes that we're all familiar with. It's true that his presence has caused changes to the timeline, and you're probably wondering why you can't reverse these changes. Well, the simple answer is because my lord doesn't want you to. He believes that this young man, Calvin, will make things very interesting and wants to see how things go from here. So, you are not to try and reverse these changes to history, no matter what!
Yours Truly, the Grand Priest and Grand Zen-Oh.
P.S., if any of you see Goku, tell him Zenny says hello and would like for him to visit.'
Having read all of this, the two Kais did the only thing that their totally kapoozled minds could think of.
They fell backwards in a dead faint, lying motionless on the ground with swirly eyes and foaming at the mouth.
"KIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!" screeched Toki-Toki upon seeing his caretaker faint.
Trunks simply sighed and said, "Yeah, I figured something like this might happen. Oh well, I guess I'll go watch old Godzilla movies since I won't be busy for a while.".
And so, he left to do just that, leaving the two Kais to their impromptu nap.
~Meanwhile, In The Judgement Plain…~
"NOW THAT CALVIN'S SOUL IS BEING REBORN INTO A NEW BODY, IT WOULD BE FOR THE BEST THAT I GRANT HIM A STRONGER BODY TO CONTEND WITH THE FIGHTERS THAT HE WILL EVENTUALLY RUN INTO IN THIS NEW WORLD."
The great creator hummed to himself as he looked at one of the screens that would let him watch over his children. This one in particular would allow him to watch over Calvin and check in to see how he's doing in the new world he will soon be born into. But first things first, he needs to create him a new body entirely from the ground up. He's seen cases in other worlds where their deities use the old bodies of the people they reincarnate as a base for their new bodies, but he wants to try something else.
After all, humans aren't the only sentient lifeforms in this other world. There are aliens, cyborgs, and even sentient, anthropomorphic animals. So, he has quite a bit of variety to choose from.
As he was viewing the events of this world, he witnessed the destruction of certain worlds and the deaths of entire species' which, honestly saddened him, even if these races had committed many grave sins. The main one being repeated genocide.
"HMM, WHAT TO REINCARNATE CALVIN AS? I COULD TURN HIM INTO A SAIYAN LIKE THOSE TWO FELLOWS, GOKU AND VEGETA, OR IS THAT TOO PREDICTABLE? WHAT ABOUT A NAMEKIAN? NAH, I DON'T THINK HE WOULD BE TOO HAPPY BEING A SLUG MAN WHO LIVES ON WATER AND LAYS EGGS FROM THEIR MOUTHS… WELL, MAYBE WHEN HE WAS A KID HE WOULD HAVE… AH! WHAT ABOUT A MEMBER OF FRIEZA'S PEOPLE? IT WOULD BE INTERESTING, BUT SOMETHING JUST DOESN'T FEEL RIGHT ABOUT MAKING HIM RELATED TO THAT EVIL SPACE TYRANT. WHAT TO DO, WHAT TO DO?" the creator pondered.
That's when he saw it.
The Eternal Dragon, Shenron!
A mystical being born from gathering seven magical orbs known as the Dragon Balls. A dragon who can grant any wish within his power.
And like that, the creator was struck with inspiration!
"OF COURSE! SINCE HE'S BEING REINCARNATED IN THAT WORLD, IT SEEMS APPROPRIATE THAT HE SHOULD BE BORN IN THE BODY OF A DRAGON."
And so, he went to his drawing board to begin designing Calvin's new body.
He would also give him some special powers that would make Calvin the first of a new race of sentient beings known simply as…
The Dragonoids!
***...To Be Continued…***
Ending A/N: Not a very long chapter, I know, but I'm still designing what Calvin should look like upon his reincarnation. I've had some ideas, but it's not quite ready yet. By the time chapter three rolls around, it'll all be ready. I hope that you all enjoy this story, but that's all I've got for now. Thanks for reading, and I'll see you in the next update, my hatchlings!
