"Hmm," Catra groaned in pain as she opened her eyes, into a familiar medical-looking room. Looking to her side, she saw Scorpia whose leg was shaking anxiously, her eyes shining when she noticed Catra looking at her.
"Catra!" Scorpia, moved forward her claws grabbing Catra's hand, concern and worry showing on her face "Wildcat! You scared me, I thought, I thought—" the white-haired girl, shook her head, tears forming in her eyes.
The brunette blue and golden eyes lingered on her friends, she wanted nothing but to say something snarky and push Scorpia away but for some reason, she was incredibly tired. Looking away, she let out a shaky sigh, pain still emanated throughout her body just not as strong. Not letting go of Scorpia's hand, her other traveled toward her bump, which still seemed to be there but this time nothing moved at the sense of her touch. She squeezed Scorpia's hand, if it was any other day, she would have run from this type of affection. Catra didn't need anybody, not anymore…. But somehow it felt nice to have a friend by her side.
Not saying anything Scorpia just gave her a reassuring squeeze back. Catra's eyes closed, she had ultimately killed the only thing that could ever love her again, and instead of feeling relief that she no longer was going to bring a baby into this world alone, she felt incredible sadness. The only thing, that she had left from her and Adora's relationship was gone and once again it was all her fault.
At that time Morat entered the medical bay, his eyes landing at an awake Catra and quickly walking towards her. Concern edge on his face "Force Captain Catra, I'm glad you are awake" he smiles at her.
Scorpia let go of Catra's hand, just to hug the man who stood next to her, looking at him with watery eyes "Doctor!" she said with exaggerated sadness "She held my hand and she hasn't said anything mean nor pushed me away and she just has this faraway look and and and…" Scorpia sniffles "she looks so meek, like she would let me hold her in my arms and I just want to take advantage of that!" wailing Scorpia, rubbed her face on Morat's coat, making him push her away slowly.
The old man looks toward Catra, making the girl look away with a grimace on her face. Catra wanted nothing more than to climb the highest place on the Fright Zone and just disappear. Softly Morat sat next to Catra's bed, regarding her slowly. He laid his hands on her stomach, softly putting pressure. He eyed Catra's hand on her stomach as it formed into a fist, her face turning away from his examination as tears formed in her eyes.
Meanwhile, Scorpia was letting out small hiccups and sniffles as she hovered over the old man and Catra. Morat sighed, finishing his examination of the feline girl. He looked at Catra, his eyebrows scrunched together "Force Captain, it seems you have not been taking my medical advice very seriously" he sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose "I know I said you could go back to the front lines, but I didn't think you would jump in to battle the first chance you got."
Catra was still unwilling to look toward Morat, not wanting to see his face when he confirmed her biggest fear. The man continued talking, "You are lucky to have such a good friend."
"Best friend" Scorpia interjected in-between tears.
Morat wanted to laugh but held it in, he cleared his throat "Catra, you are lucky. You must start to take care of yourself better, I must advise you to take a break, for the sake of the baby."
Catra's face turned to look at the doctor so fast that her head started spinning. His words replayed in her head like a mantra. The baby, the baby was still there! She sat up, wincing in pain "I'm I'm still…" she couldn't quite say the words.
Morat laid a hand on her shoulder and smiled, "This baby is just as stubborn as its parent."
Catra laid on her bed, looking up at the ceiling. She has never been one to catch much sleep since Adora left but she had been put on leave till her pregnancy was over by none other than Hordak himself. Apparently, he was rewarding her for her contribution in capturing the sparkling princess and the arrow boy. Still, Shadow Weaver had taken all the credit for Catra's plans and that didn't sit well with her but when Shadow Weaver would show her an ounce of affection it all seemed to fall in the back of her mind.
So now Catra laid there on the bed, just trying to find a comfortable position to at least close her eyes for a couple of minutes. As she felt her eyelids getting heavier, an alarm started blaring, making her sit up abruptly, wincing as she felt pain from the sudden movement. Morat had informed her that because of her recent battles, her body was not in good condition, which meant that she was once again in a risky situation.
Somehow she kind of knew that Hordak wasn't the one that had the idea of giving her a vacation. Standing she walked around the fright zone hallways, every soldier running on alert as the alarm blared in the background. Catra knew what was going on, or at least she had a feeling.
Entering Shadow Weaver's room, Catra's face twisted as she saw Adora strapped to a table, Shadow Weaver hovering over her. She stood there frozen as Shadow Weaver turned towards her, eyes narrowed through the mask. She had only seen the dark lady's face once but somehow; she could always tell what expression she had under the mask.
Hovering over Catra, Shadow Weaver's eyes bore into Catra's making her shift in fear "Leave us. Report to the force captain barracks and pack your things. Now that Adora's back there's no need for you!"
Catra's eyes widen in surprise before glaring back at Shadow Weaver "Seriously?! I was the one that made all this happen? After everything I've done for you?! It's still her you want!" looking to the side, she could notice Adora's eyes looking at her with concern.
But before she could think more about it, Shadow Weaver seemed to grow as her anger flared, making Catra recoil in fear "I said GO!" she flared, pushing Catra away, making her stumble to the floor.
As she fell, she protected herself not to fall on her stomach. She scrunched her hand into a fist, Shadow Weaver knew she was pregnant, yet always treated her so roughly. Shooting one last glare at the dark lady, she ran out of the room and she could have sworn, she heard Adora call for her but she ignored it.
She wasn't too far when she decided that she was going to turn around and for once was going to stand against Shadow Weaver, and possibly save Adora. Running back, she stood by the door and she heard Shadow Weaver laughing, making her skin crawl.
"You are correct Adora, you shall stay willingly, because I will wipe your memory, forgetting about being She-Ra and the time you spend with the rebellion" Shadow Weaver's voice echoed.
Catra's breath hitched, at the words that came out of Weaver's mouth. A shaky hand came up to her chest, Adora would return but at what cost? A part of her wanted so badly to let it happen but another, a deeper feeling screamed for her to save Adora. She could hear Adora's scream in agony, she was about to save her, but before she got the chance everything turned silent. She heard Shadow Weaver scream out in pain before everything went silent again.
The door to Shadow Weaver's room opened and Catra, without thinking, hid in the shadows as she saw Adora and Glimmer step out of the room. Adora supporting Glimmer as she groans in pain. Watching as Adora walks away with her friend, Catra lets out a breath, she didn't know she was holding. Adora was safe and that made her feel relief.
Entering the room the two princesses had left; she saw Weaver passed out in a corner and she smirked, "That's what you get for being a bitch" she hissed. Walking around a little longer, she saw the shining of a sword forgotten in a corner.
Catra slices the sword through the wall, making a scratching noise. She was amazed at how sharp Adora's sword was. She was about to do something crazy, completely unlike her but it felt right in her heart, and what better way to stick it to Weaver than to let the rebellion escape…. Letting her precious Adora escape…. Even if that meant she would lose her again.
As she followed Adora's scent, Catra stopped as she saw Glimmer and Adora staring at her, their eyes wide with surprise. They were trapped, the Fright Zone was on lockdown down and there was nowhere to escape to. Adora glared at Catra as the feline pointed the sword at her, "What are you going to do?"
Sighing, Catra tilted her head to the side, before turning the sword, the handle pointing toward Adora who looked at her in surprise "This is not because I like you" she huffed.
Adora walked slowly toward her, Glimmer shooting a concerned look toward the blond as she twitched from her powers not working. Grabbing the sword, Adora stood there just staring at Catra, her eyes pleading for something Catra couldn't understand.
Looking away from Adora's pleading look, Catra spoke "I wouldn't have let Shadow Weaver erase your memory"
"Catra…" Adora said softly, before getting distracted by Glimmers who recoiled and screamed at the pain. And as if forgotten, Adora runs back to Glimmer and Catra feels like she was abandoned all over again.
Watching as Adora turned into She-Ra, cut through the door, and turned to Glimmer to help her get up. Catra felt the familiarity of abandonment and sadness, before she disappeared, running back into the dark hallways of the Horde headquarters. Not noticing how Adora, turned back to look at her or how her face fell into sadness as the feline was no longer there.
Letting out a satisfied laugh, as she walked out of Hordak's throne room. Catra caressed her bump, happily. There was just something about watching Weaver get scolded by Hordak that just brought her immense joy. As she walked through the long hallways with Scorpia by her side, she let out another laugh, "Did you see Weaver's face as Hordak tore into her?" She let out a snort of happiness as she laughed.
Scorpia chuckles with Catra "Yes! Even though is kind of hard to tell with the mask…" she scratched the back of her head with her claw.
A robot was following them, making Catra turn around, she raised an eyebrow when the robot paused as if looking away. She ignored it and continued walking "serves her right, if she wants to take credit for my plan, she can also take the blame."
As they continue walking, Catra pauses when they pass a vent. She could have sworn she saw something glowing… and this smell… she doesn't remember ever smelling it. She has always had a sensitive nose but her pregnancy seemed to have heightened that sense. Smelling the wall, she starts getting closer to the vent.
"What are you doing?" Scorpia looks at her strangely before smiling and also smelling the wall "Oh—Oh yeah that's concrete alright."
Catra's ears twitch at Scorpia's words but she ignores her. Stopping in front of the vent she scratches it, opening the vent and a purple-haired girl falling out of it.
Entrapta looked up at them in surprise before taking out a record, "It has seemed that I've been found out..." She smiled awkwardly, as she watched Catra and Scorpia look down at her with crossed arms.
Entrapta grunts a bit as she uses her hair to try and free herself from being shackled to the wall. She smiles as she watches Catra and Scorpia walk into the room.
Catra taps the taser against her hand "Prisoner."
Scorpia looks toward Catra "Actually her name is Entrapta."
Giving Scorpia an angry look Catra whisper-yells "I know what her name is but she is a –ugh" She wanted to run a hand over her face in frustration when she looked at the confused face of Scorpia, "Never mind." She turned to the prisoner, "Hordak himself has given me the task of interrogating you" Catra shoots a taser at Entrapta as the girl releases her shackles.
Entrapta let out a small yelp, putting the shackles back on. Looking toward Catra and Scorpia with a nervous smile.
Walking closer to Entrapta she laid the taser under the girl's chin "I don't care what it takes" she spoke while lifting the girl's head with the taser "I'm going to drag every rebellion plan out of you."
Before Catra could say anything else she felt herself be pushed back, Entrapta now holding on to the taser, her eyes shining with curiosity "Oh! What is that?"
"What? Hey!" Catra protested.
The purple head girl, ignored Catra as the taser started shooting everywhere. Making her even more fascinated by the weapon in her hand.
Scorpia jumped toward Catra protecting her "Catra!" she sighed in relief. Catra pushed her away. Looking at Entrapta, Scorpia let out words that made everyone in the room freeze "Entrapta! You have to be careful, Catra is with child, you can really hurt her."
The princess's eyes shined with amazement, making her way toward Catra who stepped back when the purple-haired girl invaded her personal bubble. Lowering herself so she could be level with Catra's bump, her eyes sparkled, "Fascinating! You have such a small tummy! How can a baby fit in there?! When was the conception?! How far along are you?! Can I study you?!"
Catra's eyes widened, as Entrapta shot question after question. She hissed in anger, pushing the purple-haired girl away from her belly but not before grabbing the weapon "Stop! I'm the one interrogating you!"
Princess Entrapta blinked before shackling herself back on the wall, she grinned at Catra "Ok what do you want to know?!"
"Why were you hiding in the Fright Zone?" Catra commence.
"I was waiting for my friends to get back. They had trouble finding me before so I thought I would make it easier for them to find me by staying in one place."
Catra hummed, a soft look forming on her face. The pregnancy was making Catra, feel pity for the princess in front of her, or so she told herself. Getting closer to Entrapta who was still smiling, Catra spoke softly as if sad "They left you?"
Entrapta chuckled nervously at Catra's voice "No, no they are my friends. They'll come back" and maybe as if to distract herself from Catra's soft, concerned voice, she released herself from her shackles and walking toward Scorpia, touching her tail "Say your tail secretes some kind of paralyzing agent, right? Can you give me a sample to study?!"
Scorpia let out a small yelp as she grabbed her tail holding it closer to her "Hey you can't just touch a woman's tail without consent!"
But this fell on deaf ears since Entrapta had moved on to some horde equipment. Catra got closer to her, running her nails through Entraptas long purple hair "Some friends, they left you" she said softly "and they are not coming back. Isn't that just like Adora, she left me behind too. Like I was nothing" and the words stung, in Catra's throat, tears wanting to form. And she blamed the pregnancy for that, her hormones all out of whack.
"And me!" chimed in Scorpia "I mean, I didn't want to go but she could at least ask."
At this the princess paused and Catra could feel that the girl's resolve was being shaken, she continued with her soft, caring voice "Adora got her precious Glimmer and Bow back. All these princesses only care for people who are just like them. But you're not like them, are you?"
Letting her head fall sadly, Entrapta took out her recorder "Fright Zone log, hour 45. Is that right? I don't know if that's right, it was hard to tell in the walls. Hour 45, that-that's too many hours. This angry feline person seems to be correct. They are not coming back for me" Her eyes start to tear up.
Catra's eyes soften even further, no longer acting to break the girl's resolve. She clears the purple-haired girl's tears with her tail, softly bringing her close "You wouldn't have to pretend to be someone you are not with the horde. Think of what you accomplish if you stay here with us."
The purple princess starts to consider Catra's words with a hum "I've made more progress in secret here than I did in a whole non-secret life!" she jumps happily "Horde technology gives so much to work with! And Emily is the most advanced bot I have ever built!"
Catra raised her eyebrow "Wait, who's Emily?"
Entrapta once again gets into Catra's personal space "Oh! How rude of me, I haven't introduced Emily" the girl claps twice.
A laser blasts through the wall, Scorpia jumping toward Catra's side as she protects her. A bot comes through the wall, making Entrapta laugh happily. Pushing Scorpia away, she stared at the princess, in front of her as the purple-haired girl petted the robot. A smirk formed on her face "These stupid princesses have no idea who they left behind."
