"...it's my quirk, and I'm going to be a hero with it."

Izuku couldn't help but dwell on Lucas' words in the coming days following the Entrance Exam. This whole time, he was trying to use One For All just like All Might when he really should have been thinking about how he should use it. It is his Quirk now... right?

So he cracked open Hero Analysis No. 14 and on the first page, he began to write, drawing out the idea for his costume before writing down everything he knew about himself and One For All.

Right, so physically, I'm not a straight brawler like All Might. Ideally, I should be focused more on speed and combat utilizing my legs. Unfortunately, All Might isn't going to be able help me with this, as his fighting style is just too different. Maybe Lucas can? From what it sounds like, he's grown up around heroes his whole life. Maybe he can offer some insight? Izuku thought to himself.

Reaching out, Izuku grabbed his phone and sent out a quick text to Lucas, glad that Tsu had the foresight to have everyone trade numbers so they could keep in touch.

Izuku: Hey Lucas are you busy? I've been thinking about my Quirk and I think I could use a fresh set of eyes.

Lucas: Yeah, I'll be over in a min.

Izuku sent out a thumbs up emoji and waited for his friend to come.

Midoriya Residence, 10 minutes later

Inko Midoriya couldn't be prouder of her darling boy. He had been growing into such a fine young man and had been working so hard to get into UA. Still though... he seemed extremely lonely. She knew he wouldn't talk about it, but she could see the bruises, the scars, the scorch marks on Izuku's skin whenever he tried to hide them from her.

Katsuki... What happened to that darling boy? She thought sadly. Of course, she would always go to Mitsuki whenever she saw these scars, and Mitsuki would always loudly berate that boy while also endlessly apologizing to Inko. Mitsuki of course had nothing to apologize for, but it still hurt her heart to think that her darling baby didn't have any friends.

Not like she was any better in that department. As soon as Hisashi found out their son was Quirkless, he left. No note, no saying he'll return, just gone. Although she would never say it, she knew it was because Izuku was Quirkless that he abandoned his wife and child. She hadn't told Izuku, but the day he went for his Entrance Exam was also the day she finalized her divorce to Hisashi.

*Knock Knock Knock*

Startled out of her thoughts by the sound, she opened the door to see a young man about Izuku's age with shoulder length blonde hair, blue eyes and a kind smile.

"Oh! You must be Izuku's mom. My name's Lucas, I'm a friend of his. We met at the Entrance Exam." The boy said offering his hand to shake.

That was when the waterworks began.

About an hour later, they were still cleaning up after Miss Midoriya's tears of joy.

Seriously, it's actually impressive that one person can cry that much. Lucas thought to himself as he stretched elaborately on Izuku's bed. "So what did you need my help with?" He asked. Don't forget to mention One For All to him.

"So you know how my Quirk is strength based, right?" Izuku said, knowing he had to intentionally be vague since, as far as he knew, Lucas didn't know about One For All just yet.

"Um... Yeah, I know it's not, dude. I copied you quirk, remember? I know about One For All." Lucas said, looking away from Izuku

Never mind. WAIT SHIT ALL MIGHT IS GONNA KILL ME! Izuku thought in panic before Lucas put his hand on his shoulder.

"Breathe. I'm not gonna tell anyone. But we do need to tell All Might. I promise I'll explain everything. If I can somehow give it up, I will." Lucas promised. "But I want to hear what you came up with first.

"R-Right. Well if you know what my Quirk is and where it came from, you know All Might is a straight brawler. My body just isn't fit for that type of combat. I know you must've grown up around Heroes in America all the time if your mom's a Pro, so I was hoping you could give me some ideas?" Izuku asked hopefully.

Lucas thought for a moment before he realized he had the Vestiges he (and eventually Izuku) could call upon. Hey Nana, can you offer some insight?

"Smart thinking, calling on us, kiddo. First of all, ask Izuku if he's been going all or nothing with One For All."

"Well lets start with this. Have you been going all or nothing with your Quirk? Like just turning it off and on?" Lucas relayed the question

"There's another way?" Izuku asked, his eyebrows shooting into his mop of messy green hair.

"Oh boy, we have some work to do. First, tell him to control his output. His body can't control 100% just yet, he needs to build up to it. Judging by his physique, I'd guess that 5% is his limit right now."

"Okay, I think the reason you might be breaking yourself is because you are going all or nothing 100% or nothing. Try focusing on only using a small percent, probably about 5%." Lucas said.

"That... actually makes sense. If my Quirk is so powerful, I can't be using the full power all the time. Not even the Pros do that." Izuku said, channeling what he felt was 5 percent into his arm before throwing a punch, leaving his arm uninjured. "Perfect! But that still doesn't answer my question."

"Good, now we made sure he won't accidentally kill himself. Now, tell him to focus on One For All coursing through his entire body, not just one limb at a time."

"Right, I'm getting there. Now, you've been focusing your Quirk on one limb at a time for your attacks, right?" A nod. "Humor me for a second, but have you tried using it on your entire body instead?" Lucas asked.

On my whole-? Oh my god, that makes so much sense. If I let 5% of One For All course through my entire body, I can get quicker movement and put less strain on my body! Izuku thought to himself, deciding to give it a shot, feeling One For All coursing through his entire body.

Lucas' eyes widened as Izuku started to glow, green lighting coursing through his body.

"With this, Izuku can focus on kicks and momentum based movement. Since I know he likes studying Quirks, maybe he should review his notes on Mirko for inspiration." Nana said, Lucas hearing the satisfied grin in her voice as there was a gentle knock at the door.

"Lucas, I was wondering if you'd like to stay for dinner. I was going to order a pizza." Ms. Midoriya's voice said shyly through the door, clearly not used to Izuku having friends over.

"I'd love to, Miss Midoriya." Lucas said with a smile. If it meant not having to stay in his apartment by his lonesome, he was all for it.

An hour later, they were all sitting around the dinner table, sharing stories and laughing.

"So how did you and Izuku meet, anyway? The entrance exam?" Inko asked after clearing the plates off of the table.

"Yeah, there was this massive robot the size of a skyscraper, and these two girls were in trouble. I helped one of them, he helped the other. Next thing I know, this one's leaping through the air and takes out the thing in one punch! It was honestly awesome." Lucas praised with a grin, thankfully deciding to leave out the bit that Izuku broke both his legs and his arm in the process.

"D-Don't sell yourself short Lucas, that Blackwhip thing you did was amazing!" Izuku replied. Though it's nothing like what my Quirk is, which doesn't make sense if he really did copy One For All. We're going to have to have a talk with All Might about this.

Lucas shrugged modestly. "I honestly had no idea what I was doing. I was acting purely on adrenaline at that point." He said, checking his phone. "Ah hell, it's getting late. I should be getting back to my apartment. Hey, text me when you get your letter from UA, Tsu and Ochako wanted us to open our letters at the same time." He said, accepting a hug from Inko.

"It was lovely to meet you, Lucas. You're welcome here anytime." She said warmly as Lucas left before turning to look at her son. "So who are Tsu and Ochako?"

Dagobah Beach, The Next Day

The next day, Lucas, Ochako, Tsu and Izuku all stood in a circle on the beach, each holding out their letters. All 4 of them knew they had been accepted but for the sake of not wanting to lug around holograms, as they had all seemed to be personalized, they had instead waited to open their letters telling them which classroom they would be in: 1-A or 1-B.

"Okay... I'll go first." Ochako said with a deep breath, unfolding her paper and reading it for the first time. "I'm in 1-A."

"Me too." Tsu said with a sigh of relief

"Same here." Izuku grinned.

Lucas took a deep breath, knowing that the odds of all 4 of them being in 1-A was slim, but as he read through his paper, he realized that maybe nothing was impossible. "1-A." He murmured.

It was time, it was official. The four of them would be classmates, the four of them would be working together.

The four of them would be joining the hero academia.

And so, that ends the Prologue Arc! Next up: Orientation! Right off the bat I can tell you that this will be different from the show as there's going to be an actual orientation as opposed to going straight into the Quirk Apprehension Test. You can also expect the confrontation between All Might and Lucas next chapter regarding whether or not he should even have One For All.

I know there isn't really much on the romance side of things and for that I apologize, but I wanted to set up the main for as a close knit friend group before I started throwing romantic side plots into the mix. That and I'm still not sure if I'm going IzuOcha or not. I definitely plan to have Lucas and Tsu established romantically before the USJ, though. Which leads me to my next point: I'm going to be spreading out story Arcs a lot more. Usually, the USJ takes place a week after the first day, this time around it's gonna be like a month so that I can hopefully develop the characters a little more by then.

As always, thanks for reading! Be safe, drive the speed limit and love one another. Pizza!
